RESUMEN

The research on fluorescent rotors for viscosity has attracted extensive interest to better comprehend the close relationships of microviscosity variations with related diseases. Although scientists have made great efforts, fluorescent probes for cellular viscosity with both aggregation-induced emissions (AIEs) and large Stokes shifts to improve sensing properties have rarely been reported. Herein, we first report four new meso-C═N-substituted BODIPY-based rotors with large Stokes shifts, investigate their viscosity/AIE characteristics, and perform cellular imaging of the viscosity in subcellular organelles. Interestingly, the meso-C═N-phenyl group-substituted probe 6 showed an obvious 594 nm fluorescence enhancement in glycerol and a moderate 650 nm red AIE emission in water. Further, on attaching CF3 to the phenyl group, a similar phenomenon was observed for 7 with red-shifted emissions, attributed to the introduction of a phenyl group, which plays a key role in the red AIE emissions and large Stokes shifts. Comparatively, for phenyl-group-free probes, both the meso-C═N-trifluoroethyl group and thiazole-substituted probes (8 and 9) exhibited good viscosity-responsive properties, while no AIE was observed due to the absence of phenyl groups. For cellular experiments, 6 and 9 showed good lysosomal and mitochondrial targeting properties, respectively, and were further successfully used for imaging viscosity through the preincubation of monensin and lipopolysaccharide (LPS), indicating that C═N polar groups potentially work as rotatable moieties and organelle-targeting groups, and the targeting difference might be ascribed to increased charges of thiazole. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the structural relationships of four meso-C═N BODIPY-based rotors with respect to their viscosity/AIE characteristics, subcellular-targeting ability, and cellular imaging for viscosity, potentially serving as AIE fluorescent probes with large Stokes shifts for subcellular viscosity imaging.

Objective: To improve the preoperative management of patients undergoing day arthroscopy. Methods: Based on the evidence-based concept, the preoperative management strategy of daytime arthroscopic surgery was practiced, and the implementation effect of patients undergoing daytime arthroscopic surgery before and after evidence application was compared. The evidence-based strategies adopted in this study include: informed consent,seven aspects: anesthesia assessment, health education, prohibition of drinking and eating, preoperative medication guidance, surgical arrangement, and emergency management. Results: After applying evidence-based strategies, significant improvements were observed in various quality indicators, including reduced waiting time, reduced surgical cancellations, increased patient satisfaction, and reduced unplanned hospitalization rates. Conclusion: Based on the evidence-based concept, the practice of preoperative management strategies for patients undergoing daytime arthroscopic surgery optimizes the daytime surgical process from the strict implementation of patient health education and evaluation, as well as the establishment of compliant and reasonable surgical schedules and emergency mechanisms. This improves the preoperative management behavior of daytime surgery, enhances the patient's medical experience, and enhances the quality of daytime surgical care, providing a good basis for management and decision-making.

The technical synergy between flexible sensing paper and triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) in the next stage of artificial intelligence Internet of Things engineering makes the development of intelligent sensing paper with triboelectric function very attractive. Therefore, it is extremely urgent to explore functional papers that are more suitable for triboelectric sensing. Here, a cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) reinforced PVDF hybrid paper (CPHP) is developed by electrospinning technology. Benefitting from the unique effects of CNCs, CPHP forms a solid cross-linked network among fibers and obtains a high-strength (25 MPa) paper-like state and high surface roughness. Meanwhile, CNCs also improve the triboelectrification effect of CPHP by assisting the PVDF matrix to form more electroactive phases (96% share) and a higher relative permittivity (17.9). The CPHP-based TENG with single electrode configuration demonstrates good output performance (open-circuit voltage of 116 V, short-circuit current of 2.2 µA and power density of 91 mW m-2 ) and ultrahigh pressure-sensitivity response (3.95 mV Pa-1 ), which endows CPHP with reliable power supply and sensing capability. More importantly, the CPHP-based flexible self-powered tactile sensor with TENG array exhibits multifunctional applications in imitation Morse code compilation, tactile track recognition, and game character control, showing great prospects in the intelligent inductive device and human-machine interaction.

Background: Metabolic reprogramming plays an important role in tumor progression and antitumor immunity. START domain-containing proteins (STARDs) are responsible for lipid metabolism. However, the underlying functions of STARDs in lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) have not been clarified yet. Methods: Oncomine, UALCAN, TCGA and CPTAC were used to explore the expression landscape and clinicopathological characteristics of STARDs in LUAD. Diagnostic and prognostic values were assessed by Kaplan-Meier Plotter, Cox regression analysis, and ROC curve. GeneMANIA, GO, KEGG and GSEA were applied for exploring the potential biological functions. Epigenetic process, including mutation and m6A modification were analyzed by cBioPortal and TCGA. TIMER, TISIDB and TCGA cohort provided an immune signature. The correlation between STARDs expression and ferroptosis was analyzed by TCGA. Finally, the STARDs expression were confirmed by RT-qPCR and western blot. Results: STARD5/10/14 were overexpressed in LUAD compared with normal, while STARD4/7/8/11/12/13 were relatively low. STARD5/12/14 levels were positively related to clinical and lymph node stage. Survival analysis showed high STARD12 expression was associated with favorable overall survival, disease special survival as well as disease free survival, while STARD14 showed the opposite. GSEA analysis found STARD12 and STARD14 were associated with glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation and tumor related signaling pathways. STARD12 co-expressed genes participated in cell cycle and DNA replication, and STARD14 were enriched in ECM-receptor interaction. Both STARD12 and STARD14 were corelated with epigenetic regulation, especially TP53 mutation and m6A modification. STARD12 expression was positively correlated with TMB level. The level of STARD12 was significantly associated with the abundance of infiltrating immune cells, including B cells, CD8+T cells, macrophages, dendritic cells, and chemokine, receptor, MHC, immunostimulatory related genes. STARD14 was negatively associated with the infiltration of CD8+T cells, while positively with CCL28 and immune checkpoints, including CTLA4 as well as PD-L2. In addition, STARD12/14 could regulate the ferroptosis related genes. Conclusion: STARD12 and STARD14 were expected to be potential biomarkers for LUAD, which were associated with epigenetic regulation, immune infiltration and ferroptosis.

PURPOSE: To compare the clinical value between locating radial nerve (RN) guided by Color Doppler ultrasonography and posterior antebrachial cutaneous nerve (PACN) in the posterior humeral approach. METHODS: The five fresh adult cadavers (ten upper arms) were selected to compare the two methods of locating the RN in the posterior humeral approach (guided by ultrasound and PACN) by measuring the operation time, the length of incision, and the area of subcutaneous free. And the comparison between the two groups was statistically analyzed by paired t-test. RESULTS: The results of this study demonstrated that the length of incision and the area of subcutaneous free in the ultrasound group were smaller than that in the PACN group (P < 0.05), while the operation time was just the opposite (P < 0.05). However, after excluding the time of ultrasound location, the operation time in the ultrasound group was shorter than that in the PANC group, and the difference was statistically significant (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The RN can be quickly and safely exposed by both methods. The ultrasound approach requires a long learning curve, but is more minimally invasive and can help determine whether the intraoperative nerve is compressed by the plate. And the PACN method requires a longer incision and a wider area of subcutaneous free, while specialized equipment and professional training for surgeons are not required. In a word, these two methods have advantages and disadvantages, so they should be selected based on the exact situation.

Metal-organic gels (MOGs) emerged as an attractive luminescent soft material for electrochemiluminescence (ECL). In this work, a cathodic ECL-activated europium metal-organic gel (Eu-MOG) has been synthesized by a facile mixing of Eu3+ with 4'-(4-carboxyphenyl)-2,2':6',2''-terpyridine (Hcptpy) under mild conditions. The prepared Eu-MOG is highly mesoporous for co-reactant permeation to produce an ultra-stable and high-efficient ECL, based on the antenna effect of Eu3+ coordinating with Hcptpy. Moreover, dipicolinic acid (DPA) can competitively coordinate with Eu3+ instead of water molecules, producing an enhanced ECL signal. Therefore, an ECL enhancement assay was developed for DPA detection. There was a linear relationship between the ECL intensity and the logarithmic concentration of DPA in the 0.01-1 µM range, and the detection limit is 7.35 nM. This work displays the promising application of Eu-MOG in the ECL field, opening a broad inspection for seeking a new generation of ECL luminophores.

BACKGROUND: Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is a heavy social burden worldwide. Because the mechanisms involved in LUAD remain unclear, the prognosis of LUAD remains poor. Consequently, it is urgent to investigate the potential mechanisms of LUAD. Junctional adhesion molecule-like protein (JAML), is recognized as a tumorigenesis molecule in gastric cancer. However, the role of JAML in LUAD is still unclear. Here we aimed to evaluate the role of JAML in LUAD. METHODS: qRT-PCR, Western blotting and immunohistochemistry were conducted to investigate the expression of JAML in LUAD tissues. JAML was knocked down and overexpressed in LUAD cells using transient transfection by siRNA and plasmids or stable transfection by lentivirus. Proliferation potential of LUAD cells were detected by Cell Counting Kit-8, EdU incorporation and Colony formation assay. Migration and invasion abilities of LUAD cells were determined by wound healing, transwell migration and invasion assays. Cell cycle and cell apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. The effects of JAML in vivo were studied in xenograft tumor models. Western blotting was used to explore the molecular mechanisms of JAML function. In addition, rescue experiments were performed to verify the possible mechanisms. RESULTS: JAML expression was elevated in LUAD tissues compared with peritumor tissues, and this upregulation was positively related to pT and pTNM. Furthermore, both in vitro and in vivo, JAML silencing markedly repressed malignant behaviors of LUAD cells and vice versa. Knockdown of JAML also mediated cell cycle arrest at G0/G1 phase and promoted apoptosis in LUAD cells. Mechanistically, silencing JAML repressed the process of epithelial-mesenchymal transition by inactivating the Wnt/ß-catenin pathway in LUAD cells. Effects of JAML can be rescued by Wnt/ß-catenin pathway activator in A549 cells. CONCLUSIONS: Our data reveal the oncogenic role of JAML in LUAD, indicating that JAML may be a predictive biomarker and novel therapeutic target for LUAD.

BACKGROUND: Depression, a common worldwide mental disorder, which brings huge challenges to family and social burden around the world is different from fluctuant emotion and psychological pressure in their daily life. Although body signs have been shown to present manifestations of depression in general, few researches focus on whole body kinematic cues with the help of machine learning methods to aid depression recognition. Using the Kinect V2 device to record participants' simple kinematic skeleton data of the participant's body joints, the presented spatial features and low-level features is directly extracted from the record original Kinect-3D coordinates. This research aimed to constructed machine learning model with the preprocessed data importing, which could be used for depression automatic classification. METHODS: Considering some patients' conditions and current status and refer to psychiatrists' advices, simple and significant designed stimulus task will lead human skeleton data collection job. With original Kinect skeleton data extracting and preprocessing, the proposed experiment demonstrated four strong machine learning tools: Support Vector Machine, Logistic Regression, Random Forest and Gradient Boosting. Using the precision, recall, sensitivity, specificity, roc-curve, confusion matrix et.al, indicators were calculated as the measurement of methods, which were commonly used to evaluate classification methodologies. RESULTS: Across screened 64 pairs with age and gender totally matching in depression and control group, and Gradient Boosting achieved the best performance with the prediction accuracy of 76.92%. Sorted by female (54.69%) and male for the gender-based depression recognition, we applied best performance classifier Gradient Boosting got prediction accuracy of 66.67% in the male group, and 71.73% in the female group. Utilizing the best model Gradient Boosting for age-based classification, prediction accuracy got 76.92% in the older group (age >40, 50% of total) and 53.85% accuracy in the younger group (age <= 40). CONCLUSION: The depression and non-depression individuals can be well classified by computational models using Kinect captured skeletal data. The Gradient Boosting, an excellent machine learning tool, get the performance in the four methods we demonstrated. Meanwhile, in the gender-based depression classification also gets reasonable accuracy. In particular, the recognition results of the old group are significantly better than that of the young group. All these findings suggest that kinematic skeletal data based depression recognition can be applied as an effective tool for assisting in depression analysis.

Electrochemical aptasensors involved in chemical labeling are often single-use and sensitivity-limited because the probes are commonly single-point labeled and irreversible. In this work, the specific coordination between Zr4+ and phosphate group (-PO43-) was employed to construct a new aptasensor that is highly sensitive and reusable, using Ochratoxin A (OTA) as the test model. The OTA binding aptamer (OBA) was hybridized with the thiolated supporting sequence (TSS) immobilized on the surface of a gold electrode. The UiO-66 with a formula of [Zr6O4(OH)4(BDC)6], one of the class of Zr metal-organic frameworks (MOFs), was then particularly grafted on the terminal of OBA through the specific coordination between Zr4+ and 5'-PO43-, i.e., the Zr-O-P coordination bond. Similarly, as much as the 5'-PO43- and 3'-methylene blue dual-labeled sequences (DLS) were further assembled on UiO-66 due to the large surface area of MOF and rich active sites of Zr4+. Owing to the specific coordination for signal amplification, the developed aptasensor shows greatly enhanced sensitivity. A wide detection range from 0.1 fM to 2.0 µM and an ultralow detection limit of 0.079 fM (S/N = 3) for OTA were obtained. Additionally, the TSS can rehybridize with a new OBA to regenerate the aptasensor but without complicated pretreatments, enabling a aptasensor that is readily reusable for OTA detection. The aptasensor was successfully applied for OTA detection in the red wine samples, demonstrating a promising prospect for food safety monitoring.

Interface engineering has been applied as an effective strategy to boost the electrocatalytic performance because of the strong coupling and synergistic effects between individual components. Here, we engineered vertically aligned FeOOH/CoO nanoneedle array with a synergistic interface between FeOOH and CoO on Ni foam (NF) by a simple impregnation method. The synthesized FeOOH/CoO exhibits outstanding electrocatalytic activity and stability for both hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) in an alkaline medium. For the overall water splitting, the bifunctional FeOOH/CoO nanoneedle catalyst requires only a cell voltage of 1.58 V to achieve a current density of 10 mA cm-2 , which is much lower than that required for IrO2 //Pt/C (1.68 V). The FeOOH/CoO catalyst has been successfully applied for solar cell-driven water electrolysis, revealing its great potential for commercial hydrogen production and solar energy storage.

In this study, a highly effective combined biochar and metal-immobilizing bacteria (Bacillus megaterium H3 and Serratia liquefaciens CL-1) (BHC) was characterized for its effects on solution Pb and Cd immobilization and edible tissue biomass and Pb and Cd accumulation in Chinese cabbages and radishes and the mechanisms involved in metal-polluted soils. In the metal-containing solution treated with BHC, the Pb and Cd concentrations decreased, while the pH and cell numbers of strains H3 and CL-1 increased over time. BHC significantly increased the edible tissue dry weight by 17-34% and reduced the edible tissue Pb (0.32-0.46 mg kg-1) and Cd (0.16 mg kg-1) contents of the vegetables by 24-45%. In the vegetable rhizosphere soils, BHC significantly decreased the acid-soluble Pb (1.81-2.21 mg kg-1) and Cd (0.40-0.48 mg kg-1) contents by 26-47% and increased the reducible Pb (18.2-18.8 mg kg-1) and Cd (0.38-0.39 mg kg-1) contents by 10-111%; while BHC also significantly increased the pH, urease activity by 115-169%, amorphous Fe oxides content by 12-19%, and relative abundance of gene copy numbers of Fe- and Mn-oxidising Leptothrix species by 28-73% compared with the controls. These results suggested that BHC decreased edible tissue metal uptake of the vegetables by increasing pH, urease activity, amorphous Fe oxides, and Leptothrix species abundance in polluted soil. These results may provide an effective and eco-friendly way for metal remediation and reducing metal uptake in vegetables by using combined biochar and metal-immobilizing bacteria in polluted soils.

Ribonuclease A (RNase A) is increasingly considered as a biomarker for tumor diagnosis, and it is of great significance to develop an ultrasensitive, cost-effective assay for RNase A detection. Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) technology has distinctive advantages in the development of biosensors for diverse targets. However, most of the ECL biosensors require the complex process of electrode modification, which is laborious and time consuming. In this work, an immobilization-free homogeneous ECL assay was developed for the highly sensitive detection of RNase A activity for the first time. On the basis of the fact that RNase A can specifically hydrolyze RNA at the site of ribonucleotide uracil (rU), a rU-containing chimeric DNA probe is designed and labeled with Ru(bpy)32+ (act as ECL indicator). The chimeric DNA probe hardly diffuses to the surface of negatively charged indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode due to the strong electrostatic repulsion between the negatively charged DNA and ITO electrode, resulting in a weak ECL signal detected. When the RNase A is present, the chimeric DNA probe is hydrolyzed into small fragments, which contains little negative charge and can diffuse easily to the ITO electrode surface due to the decreased electrostatic repulsion. In this case, an enhanced ECL signal can be detected. Under the optimal conditions, there is a linear relationship between the ECL signal and the concentration of RNase A in the range of 0.001-0.10 ng/mL, and the detection limit is 0.2 pg/mL. In addition, the proposed ECL sensing system is also applied to detect the RNase A inhibitor, taking As3+ as an example. The proposed homogeneous ECL sensing system provides a new approach for the highly sensitive and convenient detection of RNase A as well as other ribonucleases only by redesigning a responding chimeric DNA probe.

Ternary bimetallic sulfide silver tetrathiotungstate (Ag2WS4) was prepared by a simple low-temperature precipitation method. The structure of Ag2WS4 was determined using the data from powder X-ray diffraction, which is in space group I4̅2 m (I-phase) with a tetragonal unit cell of a = b = 5.950 71 Å and c = 9.562 65 Å, containing layers of edge-sharing AgS4 and WS4 tetrahedra. The Ag2WS4 was also used as an electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) in acid electrolyte. The results demonstrated that, attributed to its unique composition, large electrochemical active surface area, and high electric conductivity, the Ag2WS4 exhibited superior electrocatalytic activity for HER, in comparison with the ternary counterparts of WS2 and Ag2S with a low onset potential and small Tafel slope. The Ag2WS4 also presented superior stability and maintained the electrocatalytic activity of HER for at least 24 h in 0.5 M H2SO4.

An impedimetric method is described for ultrasensitive analysis of mercury(II). It is based on thymine-Hg(II)-thymine interaction which causes the disintegration of multiple-sandwich structured DNA chains. DNA strands were selected that are partially complementary to the T-rich Hg(II)-specific oligonucleotides (MSO). They were immobilized on a gold electrode via Au-S interaction. Next, the MSO and the bridging strands (BS) that can connect adjacent MSOs were alternately attached through layer-by-layer hybridization. Thus, a multiple-sandwich structured interface in created that carries numerous MSOs. This leads to a change-transfer resistance (Rct) values of the electrode-electrolyte interface at faradic electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements in the presence of the hexacyanoferrate(II)/(III) redox probe at 0.2 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). If Hg(II) is added to the solution, the MSOs selectively interact with Hg(II) to produce T-Hg(II)-T structures. Hence, the multiple-sandwich hybridization chains become disintegrated, and this causes a decrease in resistivity. The effect can be used to quantify Hg(II) over an analytical range that extends over four orders of magnitude (1 fM to 10 pM), and it has a 0.16 fM limit of detection under optimal conditions. Graphical abstract An electrochemical sensor for femtomolar level detection of Hg2+ is realized on the basis of thymine-Hg2+-thymine interaction which causes disintegration of multiple sandwich DNA hybridization strands.

Highly efficient and multifunctional electrocatalysts are of high value in energy transformation and electrochemical sensing. Herein, hierarchically architectured cobalt tungstate/nickel iron sulfide (CoWO4/NixFeyS) microspheres with a crystalline-amorphous interface have been prepared on bimetallic substrate of nickel-iron foam (NIF) by a two-step hydrothermal method. Electrochemical characterization shows that CoWO4/NixFeyS microspheres can boost the electrocatalytic activity effectively through the synergistic effect on the crystalline-amorphous interface. When the CoWO4/NixFeyS is applied as the electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), the overpotentials at a high current density of 500 mA cm-2 are only 322.8 mV and 306.5 mV, respectively. The overall water splitting device composed of CoWO4/NixFeyS/NIF couple only needs a cell voltage of 1.80 V to reach a current density of 100 mA cm-2, and 2.19 V to reach 500 mA cm-2. The CoWO4/NixFeyS/NIF can be also utilized as an effective electrochemical platform for the sensing of toxic hydrazine in a wide range from 50 µM to 17.3 mM, with a detection limit of 46.4 µM. All these results display that the CoWO4/NixFeyS/NIF can be a high-performance multifunctional material for energy transformation and environmental pollutant monitoring.

Depression is a prevalent mental disorder worldwide. Early screening and treatment are crucial in preventing the progression of the illness. Existing emotion-based depression recognition methods primarily rely on facial expressions, while body expressions as a means of emotional expression have been overlooked. To aid in the identification of depression, we recruited 156 participants for an emotional stimulation experiment, gathering data on facial and body expressions. Our analysis revealed notable distinctions in facial and body expressions between the case group and the control group and a synergistic relationship between these variables. Hence, we propose a two-stream feature fusion model (TSFFM) that integrates facial and body features. The central component of TSFFM is the Fusion and Extraction (FE) module. In contrast to conventional methods such as feature concatenation and decision fusion, our approach, FE, places a greater emphasis on in-depth analysis during the feature extraction and fusion processes. Firstly, within FE, we carry out local enhancement of facial and body features, employing an embedded attention mechanism, eliminating the need for original image segmentation and the use of multiple feature extractors. Secondly, FE conducts the extraction of temporal features to better capture the dynamic aspects of expression patterns. Finally, we retain and fuse informative data from different temporal and spatial features to support the ultimate decision. TSFFM achieves an Accuracy and F1-score of 0.896 and 0.896 on the depression emotional stimulus dataset, respectively. On the AVEC2014 dataset, TSFFM achieves MAE and RMSE values of 5.749 and 7.909, respectively. Furthermore, TSFFM has undergone testing on additional public datasets to showcase the effectiveness of the FE module.

Prolidase (PLD) plays a crucial role as a dipeptidase in various physiological processes, specifically involved in the cleavage of proline-containing dipeptides for efficient recycling of proline. The accurate determination of PLD activity holds significant importance in clinical diagnosis. Herein, a solid-state electrochemiluminescence (ECL) biosensor was developed to address the urgent need for PLD assay. The Ru(bpy)32+ was electrophoretically deposited within the nanochannels of vertically-ordered mesoporous silica film (VMSF) on indium tin oxide (ITO) electrodes. The Ru(bpy)32+-deposited VMSF/ITO (Ru-VMSF/ITO) exhibited a remarkable ECL response towards proline, attributed to the enhanced concentration of the reactants and improved electron transfer resulting from the nanoconfinement effect. As PLD specifically enzymolyzed the Gly-Pro dipeptide to release proline, a proline-mediated biosensor was developed for PLD assay. Increased PLD activity led to enhanced release of proline into the porous solid-state ECL sensors, resulting in a more robust ECL signal. There was a linear relationship between ΔECL intensity and logarithmic concentration of PLD in the range of 10-10000 U/L, with a detection limit of 1.98 U/L. Practical tests demonstrated the reliability and convenience of the proposed bioassay, making it suitable for widespread application in PLD assays.

Research on how thermal exposure affects the microstructure and mechanical properties of the Ti-48Al-3Nb-1.5Ta (at. %) alloy, which is prepared via powder hot isostatic pressing (P-HIP), is essential since this low-density alloy shows promise for use in high-temperature applications, particularly for aero-engines, which require long-term stable service. In this study, a P-HIP Ti-48Al-3Nb-1.5Ta (at. %) alloy was exposed to high temperatures for long durations. The phase, microstructure and mechanical properties of the P-HIP Ti-48Al-3Nb-1.5Ta alloy after thermal exposure under different conditions were analyzed using XRD, SEM, EBSD, EPMA, TEM, nanomechanical testing and tensile testing. The surface scale is composed of oxides and nitrides, primarily Al2O3, TiO2, and TiN, among which Al2O3 is preferentially generated and then covered by rapidly growing TiO2 as the thermal exposure duration increases. The nitrides appear later than the oxides and exist between the oxides and the substrate. With increasing exposure temperature and duration, the surface scale becomes more continuous, TiO2 particles grow larger, and the oxide layer thickens or even falls off. The addition of Ta and Nb can improve the oxidation resistance because Ta5+ and Nb5+ replace Ti4+ in the rutile lattice and weaken O diffusion. Compared with the P-HIP Ti-48Al-3Nb-1.5Ta alloy, after thermal exposure, the grain size does not increase significantly, and the γ phase increases slightly (by less than 3%) with the decomposition of the α2 phase. With increasing thermal exposure duration, the γ phase exhibits discontinuous coarsening (DC). Compared with the P-HIP Ti-48Al-3Nb-1.5Ta alloy, the hardness increases by about 2 GPa, the tensile strength increases by more than 50 MPa, and the fracture strain decreases by about 0.1% after thermal exposure. When the depth extends from the edge of the thermally exposed specimens, the hardness decreases overall.

Depression is a common mental health disorder. With current depression detection methods, specialized physicians often engage in conversations and physiological examinations based on standardized scales as auxiliary measures for depression assessment. Non-biological markers-typically classified as verbal or non-verbal and deemed crucial evaluation criteria for depression-have not been effectively utilized. Specialized physicians usually require extensive training and experience to capture changes in these features. Advancements in deep learning technology have provided technical support for capturing non-biological markers. Several researchers have proposed automatic depression estimation (ADE) systems based on sounds and videos to assist physicians in capturing these features and conducting depression screening. This article summarizes commonly used public datasets and recent research on audio- and video-based ADE based on three perspectives: Datasets, deficiencies in existing research, and future development directions.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of Broussonetia papyrifera polysaccharides (BPP) on the jejunal intestinal integrity of rats ingesting oxidized fish oil (OFO) induced oxidative stress. Polysaccharides (Mw 16,956 Da) containing carboxyl groups were extracted from Broussonetia papyrifera leaves. In vitro antioxidant assays showed that this polysaccharide possessed antioxidant capabilities. Thirty-two male weaned rats were allocated into two groups orally infused BPP solution and PBS for 26 days, respectively. From day 9 to day 26, half of the rats in each group were fed food containing OFO, where the lipid peroxidation can induce intestinal oxidative stress. OFO administration resulted in diarrhea, decreased growth performance (p < 0.01), impaired jejunal morphology (p < 0.05) and antioxidant capacity (p < 0.01), increased the levels of ROS and its related products, IL-1ß and IL-17 (p < 0.01) of jejunum, as well as down-regulated Bcl-2/Bax (p < 0.01) and Nrf2 signaling (p < 0.01) of jejunum in rats. BPP gavage effectively alleviated the negative effects of OFO on growth performance, morphology, enterocyte apoptosis, antioxidant capacity and inflammation of jejunum (p < 0.05) in rats. In the oxidative stress model cell assay, the use of receptor inhibitors inhibited the enhancement of antioxidant capacity by BPP. These results suggested that BPP protected intestinal morphology, thus improving growth performance and reducing diarrhea in rats ingesting OFO. This protective effect may be attributed to scavenging free radicals and activating the Nrf2 pathway, which enhances antioxidant capacity, consequently reducing inflammation and mitigating intestinal cell death.
