RESUMEN

Mining stress induces deformation and fracture of the overlaying rock, which will result in water filling the separation layer if the aquifer finds access to abscission space along the fracture channels. Accurate detection is crucial to prevent water hazards induced by water-bearing fractures. The 3-D time-domain finite-difference method with Yee's grid was adopted to calculate full-space transient electromagnetic response; meanwhile, a typical geologic and geophysical model with a water-bearing block in an separation layer was built according to regional tectonics and stratigraphic developments. By using numerical simulation, the induced voltage and apparent resistivity for both vertical and horizontal components were acquired, and then an approximate inversion was carried out based on the "smoke ring" theory. The results indicate that the diffusion velocity of induced voltage is significantly affected by the water-bearing body in the fracture, and the horizontal velocity of induced voltage is lower than the vertical one. The induced voltage curves indicate that the horizontal response to an anomaly body is stronger than the vertical one, leading to a high apparent resistivity resolution of conductivity contrast and separation layer boundary in the horizontal direction. The results of 3-D simulation making use of a measured data model also demonstrate that the horizontal component of apparent resistivity can reflect the electrical structure in a better way; however, its ability to recognize the concealed and fine conductor is rather weak. Accordingly, the observation method or numerical interpolation method needs to be further improved for data processing and interpretation.

RESUMEN

With the development of globalization and agriculture trade, as well as its own strong migratory capacity, fall armyworm (FAW) (Spodoptera frugiperda) (J.E. Smith) has invaded more than 70 countries, posing a serious threat to the production of major crops in these areas. FAW has now also been detected in Egypt in North Africa, putting Europe, which is separated from it only by the Mediterranean Sea, at high risk of invasion. Therefore, this study integrated multiple factors of insect source, host plant, and environment to provide a risk analysis of the potential trajectories and time periods of migration of FAW into Europe in 2016~2022. First, the CLIMEX model was used to predict the annual and seasonal suitable distribution of FAW. The HYSPLIT numerical trajectory model was then used to simulate the possibility of the FAW invasion of Europe through wind-driven dispersal. The results showed that the risk of FAW invasion between years was highly consistent (P<0.001). Coastal areas were most suitable for the expansion of the FAW, and Spain and Italy had the highest risk of invasion, with 39.08% and 32.20% of effective landing points respectively. Dynamic migration prediction based on spatio-temporal data can enable early warning of FAW, which is important for joint multinational pest management and crop protection.

RESUMEN

Soil profiles were collected from three primary forests (Itoa orientalis, Platycladus orientalis, and Radermachera sinica) in Karst cluster-peak depression region to study the composition of soil aggregates, their organic carbon contents, and the profile distribution of the organic carbon. In the three forests, >2 mm soil aggregates were dominant, occupying about 76% of the total. The content of soil total organic carbon ranged from 12.73 to 68.66 g x kg(-1), with a significant difference among the forests. The organic carbon content in <1 mm soil aggregates was slightly higher than that in >2 mm soil aggregates, but most of soil organic carbon was stored in the soil aggregates with greater particle sizes. About 70% of soil organic carbon came from >2 mm soil aggregates. There was a significant positive relationship between the contents of 2-5 and 5-8 mm soil aggregates and the content of soil organic carbon. To increase the contents of 2-8 mm soil aggregates could effectively improve the soil carbon sequestration in Karst region. In Itoa orientalis forest, 2-8 mm soil aggregates accounted for 46% of the total, and the content of soil total organic carbon reached to 37.62 g x kg(-1), which implied that Itoa orientalis could be the suitable tree species for the ecological restoration in Karst region.
