RESUMEN

In this work, we developed a supramolecular fluorescent system based on host-guest interactions between a fluorene derivative carrying two bispyridinium units (FPy) and cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]). In aqueous solution, the system showed outstanding tunable emission properties. After being encapsulated into the rigid hydrophobic cavity of the CB[8] host, the fluorescence emission of fluorene had an obvious red-shift with enhanced quantum yield. Interestingly, the emission behavior of the FPy/CB[8] complex showed a two-step self-assembly process when the molar ratio of FPy to CB[8] changed from 1 : 1 to 1 : 2. Besides, the influence of several factors on the emission properties of the FPy/CB[8] complex was also investigated, like pH value, salt concentration, and temperature. Finally, the fluorescent FPy/CB[8] complexes displayed a good performance for detection of adenosine-5'-triphosphate (ATP), which can cause aggregation-induced quenching of the complexes via electrostatic attraction.

RESUMEN

A novel direct Z-scheme CoTiO3/g-C3N4 (CT-U) photocatalytic system with different weight percentage of CoTiO3 was synthesized using a facile in situ growth method for H2 evolution from water splitting. The as-prepared CT-U composites composed of 1D CoTiO3 microrod and 2D g-C3N4 nanosheet were characterized by various techniques including XRD, SEM, TEM, XPS, FTIR, and UV-vis. Results demonstrate that the CT-U composite photocatalysts were successfully fabricated, with intimate interfacial contact and heterojunction interaction between g-C3N4 and CoTiO3 which can significantly boost the photocatalytic activity compared with prinstine g-C3N4 and CoTiO3. The most enhanced H2-evolution rate of 858 µmol h(-1) g(-1) and high quantum efficiency (38.4% at 365 nm, 3.23% at 420 ± 20 nm) are achieved at an optimal 0.15% CT-U. Meanwhile, the 0.15% CT-U sample exhibits good photocatalytic stability in recycling H2 evolution. Accordingly, direct Z-scheme mechanism capable of leading efficient charge carrier separation and strong reduction ability for enhanced H2 production was proposed, and further evidenced by PL, photoelectrochemical analysis, and ESR assay.

RESUMEN

A high-efficiency visible-light-driven photocatalyst composed of homogeneously distributed Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) well-defined on hierarchical ZnO microspheres (ZMS) via a controllable layer-by-layer self-assembly technique is demonstrated. The gradual growth of the characteristic absorption bands of Au loaded on ZnO in the visible light region with an increasing number of assemblies indicates the enhancement of the light harvesting ability of the ZMS/Au composites as well as the reproducibility and controllability of the entire assembly process. Results on the photoelectrochemical performance characterized by EIS and transient photocurrent response spectra indicate that the ZMS/Au composites possess increased photoinduced charge separation and transfer efficiency compared to the pure ZMS film. As a result, the hybrid composites exhibited enhanced decomposition activity for methylene blue and salicylic acid as well as antibacterial activity in killing S. aureus and E. coli under visible light irradiation. It can be noted that well-distributed Au components even at a rather low Au/ZnO weight ratio of ∼1.2% also exhibited extraordinary photocatalysis. Such a facile and controllable self-assembly approach may be viable for preparing high-performance visible-light-driven ZMS/Au photocatalysts in a simple and controllable way, and consequently, the technology may extend to other plasmon-enhanced heterostructures made of nanostructured semiconductors and noble metals for great potential application in environmental protection.
