RESUMEN

PURPOSE: Treatment strategies for osteosarcoma evolving between 1970 and 1999 improved 5-year survival and continue as standard of care today. This report evaluates the impact of these evolving therapies on long-term health outcomes. METHODS: Five-year survivors of childhood osteosarcoma in CCSS treated from 1970 to 1999 were evaluated for late (>5 years from diagnosis) mortality, chronic health conditions (CHCs), and health status using piecewise-exponential and logistical models. Comparisons were made between survivors and siblings without cancer, and among survivors examining historical and current standard chemotherapies (e.g., methotrexate/doxorubicin/cisplatin [MAP] vs. others), specific chemotherapy agents and surgical approaches (amputation vs. limb salvage [LS]). Models were evaluated adjusting for attained age, sex, race, ethnicity, and age at diagnosis. RESULTS: A total of 1257 survivors of osteosarcoma were followed on average for 24.4 years. Twenty-year all-cause late mortality was 13.3% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 11.7%-14.9%) overall and 11.7% (95% CI: 6.9%-16.5%) for the subset treated with MAP plus LS. Survivors were at higher risk of CHCs (rate ratio [RR] 3.7, 95% CI: 3.2-4.3) than the sibling cohort, most notably having more serious cardiac, musculoskeletal, and hearing CHCs. Within the survivor cohort, the risk of severe CHCs was twice as high with MAP versus no chemotherapy (RR 2.1, 95% CI: 1.3-3.4). Compared with primary amputation, serious musculoskeletal CHCs were higher after LS (RR 6.6, 95% CI: 3.6-13.4), without discernable differences in health status. CONCLUSION: Contemporary osteosarcoma therapy with MAP plus LS, while improving 5-year disease-free survival, continues to be associated with a high burden of late mortality, CHCs, and health status limitations.

The objective of this work was to investigate the effect of succinylation treatment on the physicochemical properties of black bean proteins (BBPI), and the relationship mechanism between BBPI structure and gel properties was further analyzed. The results demonstrated that the covalent formation of higher-molecular-weight complexes with BBPI could be achieved by succinic anhydride (SA). With the addition of SA at 10% (v/v), the acylation of proteins amounted to 92.53 ± 1.10%, at which point there was a minimized particle size of the system (300.90 ± 9.57 nm). Meanwhile, the protein structure was stretched with an irregular curl content of 34.30% and the greatest processable flexibility (0.381 ± 0.004). The dense three-dimensional mesh structure of the hydrogel as revealed by scanning electron microscopy was the fundamental prerequisite for the ability to resist external extrusion. The thermally induced hydrogels of acylated proteins with 10% (v/v) addition of SA showed excellent gel elastic behavior (1.44 ± 0.002 nm) and support capacity. Correlation analysis showed that the hydrogel strength and stability of hydrogels were closely related to the changes in protein conformation. This study provides theoretical guidance for the discovery of flexible proteins and their application in hydrogels.

A new polysaccharide fraction (ATP) was obtained from Armillariella tabescens mycelium. Structural analysis suggested that the backbone of ATP was →4)-α-D-Glcp(1 â†’ 2)-α-D-Galp(1 â†’ 2)-α-D-Glcp(1 â†’ 4)-α-D-Glcp(1→, which branched at O-3 of →2)-α-D-Glcp(1 â†’ and terminated with T-α-D-Glcp or T-α-D-Manp. Besides, ATP significantly alleviated ulcerative colitis (UC) symptoms and inhibited the production of pro-inflammation cytokines (IL-1ß, IL-6). Meanwhile, ATP could improve colon tissue damage by elevating the expression of MUC2 and tight junction proteins (ZO-1, occludin and claudin-1) levels and enhance intestinal barrier function through inhibiting the activation of MMP12/MLCK/p-MLC2 signaling pathway. Further studies exhibited that ATP could increase the relative abundance of beneficial bacteria such as f. Muribaculacese, g. Muribaculaceae, and g. Alistips, and decrease the relative abundance of g. Desulfovibrio, g. Colidextribacter, g. Ruminococcaceae and g.Oscillibacter, and regulate the level of short-chain fatty acids. Importantly, FMT intervention with ATP-derived microbiome certified that gut microbiota was involved in the protective effects of ATP on UC. The results indicated that ATP was potential to be further developed into promising therapeutic agent for UC.

Background: Inflammatory scores are known to reflect the systemic inflammatory burden. Despite this, the association between the inflammatory score and the risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in patients with metabolic syndrome (MetS) remains poorly understood. To address this gap in the literature, this study investigated this potential association between these two factors. Methods: A total of 3401 patients with MetS from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (1999-2010) were enrolled. Survival status and cause of death were obtained by linking data from the National Death Index (NDI). The inflammatory score was calculated based on the sum of the Z-scores for white blood cell (WBC) count and C-reactive protein (CRP) at baseline. The patients were divided into inflammatory score quartiles. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to determine the association between inflammatory score and mortality. Restricted cubic splines (RCS) were used to explore the dose-response relationship between inflammatory score and mortality. Stratified analyses and interaction tests were conducted according to sex, age, body mass index (BMI), alcohol consumption, smoking status, hypertension, diabetes, and stroke status. Results: After a mean follow-up of 145.9 months, 1039 all-cause deaths and 295 cardiovascular deaths were recorded. The results of multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that compared to the lowest quartile (Q1), patients in the highest quartile (Q4) had a 1.74-fold increased risk of all-cause mortality (Model 3: HR = 1.74, 95%CI 1.30-2.32, P < 0.001) and a 1.87-fold increased risk of cardiovascular mortality (Model 3: HR = 1.87, 95%CI 1.12-3.13, P = 0.020). There was a 'J'-shaped nonlinear relationship between the inflammatory score and all-cause mortality (P for nonlinearity = 0.001), and a marginally significant 'J'-shaped relationship with cardiovascular mortality (P for nonlinearity = 0.057). The threshold points of the inflammatory score for adverse outcomes were - 0.643 and - 0.621, respectively. Conclusion: The inflammatory score is independently associated with increased all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in patients with MetS, and risk stratification of these patients using inflammatory scores may provide specific therapeutic strategies to improve their prognosis.

Genomic prediction has emerged as a pivotal technology for the genetic evaluation of livestock, crops, and for predicting human disease risks. However, classical genomic prediction methods face challenges in incorporating biological prior information such as the genetic regulation mechanisms of traits. This study introduces a novel approach that integrates mRNA transcript information to predict complex trait phenotypes. To evaluate the accuracy of the new method, we utilized a Drosophila population that is widely employed in quantitative genetics researches globally. Results indicate that integrating mRNA transcript data can significantly enhance the genomic prediction accuracy for certain traits, though it does not improve phenotype prediction accuracy for all traits. Compared with GBLUP, the prediction accuracy for olfactory response to dCarvone in male Drosophila increased from 0.256 to 0.274. Similarly, the accuracy for cafe in male Drosophila rose from 0.355 to 0.401. The prediction accuracy for survival_paraquat in male Drosophila is improved from 0.101 to 0.138. In female Drosophila, the accuracy of olfactory response to 1hexanol increased from 0.147 to 0.210. In conclusion, integrating mRNA transcripts can substantially improve genomic prediction accuracy of certain traits by up to 43%, with range of 7% to 43%. Furthermore, for some traits, considering interaction effects along with mRNA transcript integration can lead to even higher prediction accuracy.

To enhance the physicochemical properties and extend the release duration of sodium alginate (SA) hydrogels, this study explored the impact of acidifier type and the number of cross-linking on the physicochemical characteristics and in vitro anthocyanin release from SA hydrogels, utilizing calcium carbonate as the cross-linking agent. The findings revealed that the utilization of gluconolactone (GDL) as an acidifying agent in the preparation of SA hydrogels, as opposed to hydrochloric acid, resulted in a deceleration of the hydrolysis process of calcium carbonate. This deceleration led to the strengthening of hydrogen-bonding interactions and the development of a more compact network structure within the SA hydrogels. Consequently, there was a noticeable enhancement in the hardness, relaxation time, and anthocyanin encapsulation efficiency of the gels. Additionally, the release of anthocyanins in simulated intestinal fluid was delayed. Secondary cross-linking was found to facilitate ionic interactions between SA and Ca2+, further intensifying the denseness of the network structure and enhancing the physicochemical characteristics of the SA hydrogels. Overall, SA hydrogels processed with GDL as the acidifier and subjected to secondary cross-linking exhibited improved physicochemical properties, delayed release effects, and proved to be an efficient system for the delayed release of anthocyanins.

The Tn antigen, an immature truncated O-glycosylation, is a promising biomarker for cancer detection and diagnosis. However, reliable methods for analyzing O-GalNAcylation and complex O-glycosylation are lacking. Here, we develop a novel method, MOTAI, for the sequential analysis of O-glycosylation using different O-glycoproteases. MOTAI conjugates glycopeptides on a solid support and releases different types of O-glycosylation through sequential enzymatic digestion by O-glycoproteases, including OpeRATOR and IMPa. Because OpeRATOR has less activity on O-GalNAcylation, MOTAI enriches O-GalNAcylation for subsequent analysis. We demonstrate the effectiveness of MOTAI by analyzing fetuin O-glycosylation and Jurkat cell lines. We then apply MOTAI to analyze colorectal cancer and benign colorectal polyps. We identify 32 Tn/sTn-glycoproteins and 43 T/sT-glycoproteins that are significantly increased in tumor tissues. Gene Ontology analysis reveals that most of these proteins are ECM proteins involved in the adhesion process of the intercellular matrix. Additionally, the protein disulfide isomerase CRELD2 has a significant difference in Tn expression, and the abnormally glycosylated T345 and S349 O-glycosylation sites in cancer group samples may promote the secretion of CRELD2 and ultimately tumorigenesis through ECM reshaping. In summary, MOTAI provides a powerful new tool for the in-depth analysis of O-GalNAcylation and complex O-glycosylation. It also reveals the upregulation of Tn/sTn-glycoproteins in colorectal cancer, which may provide new insights into cancer biology and biomarker discovery.

PURPOSE: To document and characterize COVID-19 cases involving pregnancy in the context of exposure to pharmaceutical products. METHODS: This retrospective case series analysis leveraged the Pfizer safety database containing worldwide adverse event data related to use of Pfizer products between October 1, 2019 and November 3, 2022. Selected Medical Dictionary for Drug Regulatory Activities (Version 25.0) Preferred Terms and subsequent clinical review were used to identify COVID-19 cases involving female patients who received Pfizer products during pregnancy and infants with intrauterine exposure to Pfizer products. FINDINGS: As of November 3, 2022, 504 pregnancy cases (426 maternal; 78 infants) were identified. Most maternal cases reported COVID-19 during the third trimester, and (when known) 52% of cases involved presentation or progression of severe COVID-19 with associated complications requiring hospitalization, and often intensive management (eg, mechanical ventilation, oxygen support) and emergent delivery. Twenty-three maternal cases were fatal; patients developed severe COVID-19 disease involving multisystem deterioration (eg, cardiopulmonary injury/decompensation, coagulopathies, septic/hemorrhagic shock) and frequently required risk-benefit decisions regarding maintaining/prolonging pregnancies to improve fetal viability while attempting to improve or stabilize maternal conditions or electing to either terminate pregnancies or induce emergent deliveries. Approximately 40% of maternal cases reported medical history involving at least one underlying condition (eg, diabetes, respiratory disorders, renal/hepatic disease, cardiac disease, obesity, autoimmune conditions) considered potentially associated with susceptibility to infection/adverse outcome of infection, or twin/triplet pregnancy, which may further complicate COVID-19 disease. Most cases with known fetal outcomes reported normal newborns including preterm/low birth weight infants, which occurred in many cases involving emergent preterm delivery due to deteriorating maternal conditions. The remaining smaller proportion of cases involved abnormal newborn/perinatal/postperinatal complications (eg, premature births, respiratory distress, alveolar damage, meconium aspiration with hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy), intrauterine/neonatal death (due to multiple concurrent complications such as neonatal sepsis, hypoxemia/acute respiratory distress, potential cardiac damage, mucormycosis) and congenital anomaly (eg, intrauterine growth restriction in association with contracting COVID-19). Among infants tested within our dataset, 28 cases involved reference to infants who tested positive for COVID-19 infection at birth or shortly thereafter, with vertical transmission suspected only in 2 infants. IMPLICATION: This large retrospective case series provides additional perspectives regarding potential impact of COVID-19 on pregnancy outcomes, and its characterization of this case volume may contribute to the current information landscape related to COVID-19 in pregnancy. Further studies may be warranted to confirm the generalizability of our findings to the general pregnant patient population infected with COVID-19.

The clinical severity of Chlamydia psittaci infection ranges from asymptomatic to severe pneumonia. Diagnosis poses challenges due to its similarity to other respiratory infections. Treatment includes tetracyclines, macrolides, and fluoroquinolones, with limited evidence on the efficacy of omadacycline. We report a case of an 86-year-old male with severe psittacosis treated with omadacycline, resulting in significant improvement. This highlights the necessity for further research on omadacycline's role in psittacosis treatment.

Choroid plexus papilloma (CPP) is a rare benign intracranial tumor origin that predominantly manifests in the lateral ventricle in children, accounting for 0.3%-0.6% of all primary intracranial tumors. It is extremely rare to have the CPP in the trigone of the lateral ventricle through the contralateral posterior interhemispheric transfalcine transprecuneus approach (PITTA). Herein, we report this rare case. A 7-year-old girl presented with headache. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain showed periatrial lesions, and histopathological examination confirmed CPP (WHO grade I). The contralateral PITTA is a safe, effective, reasonable, and appropriate for some lesions in the trigone of the lateral ventricle. It provides a wider surgical angle (especially for the lateral extension) and reduces the risk of disturbance of the optic radiation compared with the conventional approaches. The use of multiple modern neurosurgical techniques, including interventional embolization, intraoperative navigation, microscope, and electrophysiological monitoring, make the procedure much easier and more accurate, and the neuroendoscope adds to the visualization of the microscope and can reduce surgical complications.

Liver fibrosis is a determinant-stage process of many chronic liver diseases and affected over 7.9 billion populations worldwide with increasing demands of ideal therapeutic agents. Discovery of active molecules with anti-hepatic fibrosis efficacies presents the most attacking filed. Here, we revealed that hepatic L-aspartate levels were decreased in CCl4-induced fibrotic mice. Instead, supplementation of L-aspartate orally alleviated typical manifestations of liver injury and fibrosis. These therapeutic efficacies were alongside improvements of mitochondrial adaptive oxidation. Notably, treatment with L-aspartate rebalanced hepatic cholesterol-steroid metabolism and reduced the levels of liver-impairing metabolites, including corticosterone (CORT). Mechanistically, L-aspartate treatment efficiently reversed CORT-mediated glucocorticoid receptor ß (GRß) signaling activation and subsequent transcriptional suppression of the mitochondrial genome by directly binding to the mitochondrial genome. Knockout of GRß ameliorated corticosterone-mediated mitochondrial dysfunction and hepatocyte damage which also weakened the improvements of L-aspartate in suppressing GRß signaling. These data suggest that L-aspartate ameliorates hepatic fibrosis by suppressing GRß signaling via rebalancing cholesterol-steroid metabolism, would be an ideal candidate for clinical liver fibrosis treatment.

BACKGROUND: The incidence of Barrett's esophagus (BE) in China is lower compared to the Western populations. Hence, studies conducted in the Chinese population has been limited. The current treatment options available for BE treatment includes argon plasma coagulation (APC), radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation, all with varying degrees of success. AIM: To determine the efficacy and safety of HybridAPC in the treatment of BE. METHODS: The study cohort consisted of patients with BE who underwent HybridAPC ablation treatment. These procedures were performed by seven endoscopists from different tertiary hospitals. The duration of the procedure, curative rate, complications and recurrent rate by 1-year follow-up were recorded. RESULTS: Eighty individuals were enrolled for treatment from July 2017 to June 2020, comprising of 39 males and 41 females with a median age of 54 years (range, 30 to 83 years). The technical success rate of HybridAPC was 100% and the overall curative rate was 98.15%. No severe complications occurred during the operation. BE cases were classified as short-segment BE and long-segment BE. Patients with short-segment BE were all considered cured without complications. Thirty-six patients completed the one-year follow-up without recurrence. Twenty-four percent had mild dysplasia which were all resolved with one post-procedural treatment. The mean duration of the procedure was 10.94 ± 6.52 min. CONCLUSION: Treatment of BE with HybridAPC was found to be a simple and quick procedure that is safe and effective during the short-term follow-up, especially in cases of short-segment BE. This technique could be considered as a feasible alternative ablation therapy for BE.

BACKGROUND: Amyloidosis is a rare disorder that can be classified into various types, and the most common type is the systemic light chain type. The prognosis of this disease is extremely poor. In general, amyloidosis mainly affects the kidneys and heart and manifests as abnormal proliferation of clonal plasma cells. Cases in which the liver is the primary organ affected by amyloidosis, as in this report, are less common in clinical practice. CASE SUMMARY: A 62-year-old man was admitted with persistent liver dysfunction of unknown cause and poor treatment outcomes. His condition persisted, and he developed chronic liver failure, with severe cholestasis in the later stage that was gradually accompanied by renal injury. Ultimately, he was diagnosed with hepatic amyloidosis through liver biopsy and pathological examination. CONCLUSION: Hepatic amyloidosis rarely occurs in the clinic, and liver biopsy and pathological examination can assist in the accurate and effective diagnosis of this condition.

Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, with high incidence and low survival rates. Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors play an important role in the progression of LUAD. In this study, a screening of 17 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor allosteric agents revealed that spinosad effectively suppressed the proliferation of LUAD cells. The experiments demonstrated that spinosad induced cell cycle arrest in the G1 phase and stimulated apoptosis, thereby impeding the growth of LUAD and enhancing the responsiveness to gefitinib in vitro and vivo. Mechanistic insights obtained through transcriptome sequencing, Co-IP, and protein immunoblots indicated that spinosad disrupted the interaction between CHRNA5 and EGFR, thereby inhibiting the formation of downstream complexes and activation of the EGFR signaling pathway. The supplementation of exogenous acetylcholine showed to mitigate the inhibition of LUAD cell proliferation induced by spinosad. This study elucidates the therapeutic effects and mechanisms of spinosad in LUAD, and offers a theoretical and experimental foundation for novel LUAD treatments.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa (P. aeruginosa) typically forms biofilms in vivo, which exhibit high resistance and complicate eradication efforts. Additionally, persistent inflammation and excessive oxidative stress can lead to severe lung dysfunction, facilitating bacterial colonization and infection. Herein, we prepared oil-in-water (O/W) nanoemulsions (TD-αT NEs) by using PEG5k-block-PCL5k and α-tocopherol to encapsulate tobramycin (TOB). To enhance TOB's drug load, a hydrophobic ion pair (TDIP) composed of TOB and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) was pre-prepared. TD-αT NEs was not only easily prepared and aerosolized, but stable in both physics and chemistry. The negatively charged TD-αT NEs facilitated penetration through mucus, reaching infection sites. Subsequently, TD-αT NEs permeated biofilms due to their small size and released drugs via lipase-triggered carrier dissociation, aiding in eradicating internal bacteria within biofilms (with a 16-fold reduction in CFU vs. free TOB group). TD-αT NEs simultaneously exerted superior anti-inflammatory effects, reducing levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines (NO, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α) while increasing the level of anti-inflammatory cytokine (IL-10). It was achieved through the upregulation of PPAR-γ and downregulation of NF-κB signaling, thus mitigating the lung damage. In addition, TD-αT NEs demonstrated strong antioxidant activity, alleviating the oxidative stress induced by P. aeruginosa. Notably, when administered via inhalation, TD-αT NEs significantly reduced the lung bacterial burden, lung inflammation, and oxidative stress in vivo compared to TOB solution. TD-αT NEs could prove beneficial in treating chronic pulmonary infections induced by P. aeruginosa through a comprehensive strategy, specifically enhancing biofilm eradication, reducing inflammation, and alleviating oxidative stress.

External interfaces, such as the air-water and solid-liquid interfaces, are ubiquitous in nature. Hydrophobic interactions are considered the fundamental driving force in many physical and chemical processes occurring in aqueous solutions. It is important to understand the effects of external interfaces on hydrophobic interactions. According to the structural studies on liquid water and the air-water interface, the external interface primarily affects the structure of the topmost water layer (interfacial water). Therefore, an external interface may affect hydrophobic interactions. The effects of interfaces on hydrophobicity are related not only to surface molecular polarity but also to the geometric characteristics of the external interface, such as shape and surface roughness. This study is devoted to understanding the effects of a smooth interface on hydrophobicity. Due to hydrophobic interactions, the solutes tend to accumulate at external interfaces to maximize the hydrogen bonding of water. Additionally, these can be demonstrated by the calculated potential mean forces (PMFs) using molecular dynamic (MD) simulations.

Background: The current prophylactic tuberculosis vaccine Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG), was derived in the 1920s, but the humoral immune responses induced by BCG vaccination have not been fully elucidated to date. In this study, our aim was to reveal the profiles of antibody responses induced by BCG vaccination in adults and identify the potential biomarkers for evaluating the BCG vaccination response. Methods: Proteome microarrays were performed to reveal the serum profiles of antibody responses induced by BCG vaccination in adults. ELISA was used to validate the potential biomarkers in validation cohort (79 healthy controls and 58 BCG-vaccinated subjects). Then combined panel was established by logistic regression analysis based on OD values of potential biomarkers. Results: Multiple antigens elicited stronger serum IgG or IgM antibody responses in BCG vaccinated subjects than healthy subjects at 12 weeks post BCG vaccination; among the antigens, Rv0060, Rv2026c and Rv3379c were further verified using 137 serum samples and presented the moderate performance in assessment of the BCG vaccination response by receiver operating characteristic analysis. Furthermore, a combined panel exhibited an improved AUC of 0.923, and the sensitivity and specificity were 77.59 % and 91.14 %, respectively. In addition, the antibody response against Rv0060, Rv2026c and Rv3379c was related to the clinical background to a certain extent. Conclusions: The novel antigens identified in our study could offer better knowledge towards developing a more efficacious vaccine based on humoral immune responses, and they could be potential biomarkers in assessments of BCG vaccination responses.

This report describes a case of concomitant diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) and thyroid storm (TS) in a 20-year-old male patient that presented both diagnostic and management challenges owing to their intricate interrelationship in endocrine-metabolic disorders. The patient, previously diagnosed with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and hyperthyroidism, was admitted to the emergency department with symptoms of DKA and progressive exacerbation of TS. Initial treatment focused on correcting DKA; as the disease progressed to TS, it was promptly recognized and treated. This case emphasizes the rarity of simultaneous occurrence of DKA and TS, as well as the challenges in clinical diagnosis posed by the interacting pathophysiological processes and overlapping clinical manifestations of DKA and TS. The patient's treatment process involved multiple disciplines, and after treatment, the patient's critical condition of both endocrine metabolic diseases was alleviated, after which he recovered and was eventually discharged from the hospital. This case report aims to emphasize the need for heightened awareness in patients with complex clinical presentations, stress the possibility of concurrent complications, and underscore the importance of prompt and collaborative treatment strategies.

Objective: To investigate the association between dietary and some other environmental factors and the risk of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) in Chinese population. Materials and methods: A multicenter case-control study was conducted involving 11 hospitals across China. A total of 1,230 subjects were enrolled consecutively, and diet and environmental factor questionnaires were collected. IBD patients were matched with healthy controls (HC) using propensity-score matching (PSM) at a 1:1 ratio with a caliper value of 0.02. Multivariate conditional logistic regression analyses were performed to evaluate the associations between diet, environmental factors, and IBD. Results: Moderate alcohol and milk consumption, as well as daily intake of fresh fruit, were protective factors for both Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC). Conversely, the consumption of eggs and chocolate increased the risk of IBD. Outdoor time for more than 25% of the day was a protective factor only for CD. In eastern regions of China, CD patients had higher egg consumption and less outdoor time, while UC patients consumed more chocolate. IBD patients from urban areas or with higher per capita monthly income consumed more fruit, eggs, and chocolate. Conclusions: This study reveals an association between specific foods, outdoor time, and the emergence of IBD in the Chinese population. The findings emphasize the importance of a balanced diet, sufficient outdoor time and activities, and tailored prevention strategies considering regional variations.
