RESUMEN

The article presents the results of analysis of actual system of medical support of industrial enterprises and consumer estimate of accessibility o and quality of organization of medical examinations during dispensarization. The new form of complex medical examinations is proposed combining capacity of programs of examination of periodical medical check-ups of workers of enterprises and the first stage of dispensarization implemented on the basis of of integrated medical organization according to developed regulations. On the basis of increasing coverage of workers with measures of dispensarization the economic efficiency of complex medical examinations at the expense of decreasing of economic burden of chronic non-infectious diseases is substantiated.

RESUMEN

Some parameters of the health status of medical workers using a sociological method were studied at a large multidisciplinary hospital of Nizhny Novgorod. The results of self-registration of chronic diseases are indicative of the high level of morbidity in the study group. The differences in the level and structure of chronic pathology as compared with literature data prove the validity of using the sociological method to study the health status of medical workers.

RESUMEN

Lethal 3 malignant brain tumor 1 (L3MBTL1), a homolog of the Drosophila polycomb tumor suppressor l(3)mbt, contains three tandem MBT repeats (3xMBT) that are critical for transcriptional repression. We recently reported that the 3xMBT repeats interact with mono- and dimethylated lysines in the amino termini of histones H4 and H1b to promote methylation-dependent chromatin compaction. Using a series of histone peptides, we now show that the recognition of mono- and dimethylated lysines in histones H3, H4 and H1.4 (but not their trimethylated or unmodified counterparts) by 3xMBT occurs in the context of a basic environment, requiring a conserved aspartic acid (D355) in the second MBT repeat. Despite the broad range of in vitro binding, the chromatin association of L3MBTL1 mirrors the progressive accumulation of H4K20 monomethylation during the cell cycle. Furthermore, transcriptional repression by L3MBTL1 is enhanced by the H4K20 monomethyltransferase PR-SET7 (to which it binds) but not SUV420H1 (an H4K20 trimethylase) or G9a (an H3K9 dimethylase) and knockdown of PR-SET7 decreases H4K20me1 levels and the chromatin association of L3MBTL1. Our studies identify the importance of H4K20 monomethylation and of PR-SET7 for L3MBTL1 function.

RESUMEN

A novel Val154-->Ile mutation in the D2 dopamine receptor (DRD2) on chromosome 11q23 has recently been shown to be associated with myoclonus dystonia (M-D) in one large family. Sequence analysis of the DRD2 gene in 5 M-D patients from different families did not reveal any mutations, nor was there evidence of linkage to the 11q23 region in the DRD2 gene in four other families. Receptor binding and signal transduction assays of the DRD2 mutant and wild-type receptors revealed identical agonist and antagonist affinities and functional responses. These studies suggest that M-D is genetically heterogeneous. The molecular mechanisms through which the Val-->Ile mutation may contribute to M-D remain to be determined.

RESUMEN

Increased expression and nuclear accumulation of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) are early, critical events in several forms of apoptosis. In order to investigate the subcellular trafficking of GAPDH in vivo, the localization of a GAPDH-green fluorescent protein (GFP) fusion was studied in PC12, HEK 293 and COS-1 cells. In control cells, fusion protein autofluorescence was largely restricted to the cytoplasm, rather than the nuclear concentration favored by GFP alone. In contrast, as early as 30 min after an insult, nuclear fluorescence increased in all cell lines studied. The fusion protein redistribution paralleled the dynamics of endogenous GAPDH. These data suggest that some nuclear GAPDH observed during apoptosis represents protein previously resident in the cytosol. This construct provides an in vivo monitor for an early change in apoptosis.

RESUMEN

Children's invalidism is a serious social, moral and financial problem in Russia. Approaches to its solving are not fully formulated now and need further study. The paper reports the results of the original trial of social and health status, life style of invalids of preschool age. The system of measures is proposed to improve rehabilitation of handicapped children.

RESUMEN

The paper deals with problems arising in health protection of women engaged in cattle breeding and of their children. Analysis of the morbidity in this population, based on the analysis of consultation rate and results of profound medical examinations showed its level to be high. The authors propose new organization measures aimed at health improvement and fortification under conditions of a rural health center.
