RESUMEN

4-Nitrophenol (4-NP), as a toxic and refractory pollutant, has generated significant concern due to its adverse effects. However, the potential toxic effects and mechanism remained unclear. In this study, the reproduction, development, locomotion and reactive oxygen species (ROS) production of Caenorhabditis elegans were investigated to evaluate the 4-NP toxicity. We used metabolomics to assess the potential damage mechanisms. The role of metabolites in mediating the relationship between 4-NP and phenotypes was examined by correlation and mediation analysis. 4-NP (8 ng/L and 8 µg/L) caused significant reduction of brood size, ovulation rate, total germ cells numbers, head thrashes and body bends, and an increase in ROS. However, the oosperm numbers in uterus, body length and body width were decreased in 8 µg/L. Moreover, 36 differential metabolites were enriched in the significant metabolic pathways, including lysine biosynthesis, ß-alanine metabolism, tryptophan metabolism, pentose phosphate pathway, pentose and glucuronate interconversions, amino sugar and nucleotide sugar metabolism, starch and sucrose metabolism, galactose metabolism, propanoate metabolism, glycerolipid metabolism, and estrogen signaling pathway. The mechanism of 4-NP toxicity was that oxidative stress caused by the perturbation of amino acid, which had effects on energy metabolism through disturbing carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, and finally affected the estrogen signaling pathway to exert toxic effects. Moreover, correlation and mediation analysis showed glycerol-3P, glucosamine-6P, glucosamine-1P, UDP-galactose, L-aspartic acid, and uracil were potential markers for the reproduction and glucose-1,6P2 for developmental toxicity. The results provided insight into the pathways involved in the toxic effects caused by 4-NP and developed potential biomarkers to evaluate 4-NP toxicity.

OBJECTIVES: Cardiometabolic Index (CMI) is a surrogate marker for metabolic disorders. It is associated with various chronic diseases. This study aims to investigate the relationship between CMI and asthma. METHODS: Data from seven consecutive National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey cycles between 2005 and 2018 were used. The study included adults with self-reported asthma diagnoses and complete information for CMI calculation. The formula for CMI is CMI = [WC (cm)/height (cm)] × [TG (mg/dL)/HDL-C (mg/dL)]. A multivariate logistic regression model was employed to examine the linear relationship between CMI and asthma. Subgroup analyses were conducted to explore potential influencing factors. Additionally, smooth curve fitting and threshold effect analysis were used to describe the non-linear relationship. RESULTS: A higher CMI was possibly associated with an increased prevalence of asthma. After adjusting for various covariates including marital status, Poverty Income Ratio, Body Mass Index, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, alcohol consumption, heart attack, and stroke, the results remained significant (OR = 1.03; 95%CI, 1.00-1.05, P = 0.0178, R2 = 0.52). Participants with the highest CMI had a 38% increased risk of asthma prevalence compared to those with the lowest CMI. (OR = 1.38; 95%CI, 1.19-1.60, P < 0.0001). CONCLUSION: The findings reveal that elevated CMI levels correlate with an increased risk of asthma, highlighting CMI's potential as a predictive marker for asthma, particularly in populations with a CMI below 1.97. These results suggest that interventions aimed at improving metabolic health may prove effective in managing or preventing asthma.

BACKGROUND: Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) can be reactivated and proliferated with fatal outcome in immuno-compromised people, but the clinical consequences of EBV infection in patients with severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) remain uncertain. In this study, we investigated the infection rate, the influence and the early predictors of EBV infection in SFTS patients. METHODS: In this retrospective study, SFTS patients who were treated in the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from May 2011 to August 2021 were enrolled and divided into infected and non-infected groups. We compared the demographic characteristics, clinical manifestations and signs, laboratory tests and prognosis, and explored the risk factors of EBV infection by receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and logistic regression. RESULTS: A total of 120 hospitalized SFTS patients with EBV-DNA testing were enrolled in this study. Patients with EBV infection had statistically significant higher mortality rate (32.0% vs. 11.43%, P = 0.005). Compared with the non-infected group, the EBV-infected group had higher levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), creatine-kinase (CK), fasting blood glucose (FBG), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), D-dimer, and CD56+ cell counts, lower levels of immunoglobulin G (IgG), IgM, complement 3 (C3), and C4. The proportion of patients with age ≥ 60 years and ferritin > 1500.0 ng/ml in the EBV-infected group was significantly higher than that in the non-infected group. The results of ROC analysis showed that the cut-off values of CRP, IgG, C3, C4, and CD56+ cell counts to predict EBV infection were 13.2 mg/l, 12.5 g/l, 1.1 g/l, 0.6 g/l, 0.3 g/l, and 94.0 cells/µl. Multivariable logistic analysis showed that age ≥ 60 years old, CRP > 13.2 mg/l, BUN > 5.4 mmol/l, ferritin > 1500.0 ng/ml, IgG < 12.5 g/l, IgM < 1.1 g/l, C4 < 0.3 g/l, and CD56+ cell counts > 94.0 cells/µl were the independent risk factors of EBV infection in SFTS patients. CONCLUSIONS: SFTS combined with EBV infection is associated with high morbidity and mortality. It is necessary to strengthen screening for EBV infection and its early predictive markers after admission in SFTS patients.

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries (AZIBs) have recently been paid great attention due to their robust safety features, high theoretical capacity, and eco-friendliness, yet their practical application is hindered by the serious dendrite formation and side reactions of Zn metal anode during cycling. Herein, a low-cost small molecule, nicotinamide (NIC), is proposed as an electrolyte additive to effectively regulate the Zn interface, achieving a highly reversible and stable zinc anode without dendrites. NIC molecules not only modify the Zn2+ solvation structure but also preferentially adsorb on the Zn surface than solvated H2O to protect the Zn anode and provide numerous nucleation sites for Zn2+ to homogenize Zn deposition. Consequently, the addition of 1 wt% NIC enables Zn||Zn symmetric cells an ultra-long lifespan of over 9700 h at 1 mA cm-2, which expands nearly 808 times compared to that without NIC. The advantages of NIC additives are further demonstrated in NaVO||Zn full cells, which exhibit exceptional capacity retention of 90.3 % after 1000 cycles with a high Coulombic efficiency of 99.9 % at 1 A/g, while the cell operates for only 42 cycles without NIC additive. This strategy presents a promising approach to solving the anode problem, fostering advancements in practical AZIBs.

Rho-associated coiled-coil kinase (ROCK) is involved in multiple cellular activities regulating the actin cytoskeleton, such as cell morphology, adhesion, and migration. The inhibition of ROCK is a feasible strategy to suppress breast cancer metastasis. Herein, based on Belumosudil, a series of pyrazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine derivatives as selective ROCK2 inhibitors were designed and synthesized. Through systematic investigation of SARs, the piperazine analog 7u was identified with optimum ROCK2 inhibitory activity (IC50 = 36.8 nM) and excellent selectivity over the isoform protein ROCK1 (>250-fold). Intriguingly, upon treatment with 7u, the arrangement of the MDA-MB-231 cytoskeleton was affected accompanied by the alteration of morphology. Furthermore, cell scratch and transwell assays indicated that 7u inhibited MDA-MB-231 cell migration and invasion in a dose-dependent manner. Ultimately, the binding model of 7u with ROCK2 well accounted for the superior activities of 7u as a promising ROCK2 inhibitor with the potential application in breast cancer metastasis treatment.

Mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists (MRAs) for bilateral primary aldosteronism (PA) are the mainstay option recommended by guidelines, but poor compliance occurs due to numerous side effects. We aimed to examine whether catheter-based adrenal ablation could be an alternative treatment for bilateral PA.644 PA patients were included from a total of 6054 hypertensive patients. Adrenal CT scan and adrenal venous sampling (AVS) were both performed for PA subtype classification. Clinical and biochemical outcomes were assessed at 6 months after treatment according to the Primary Aldosteronism Surgical Outcome (PASO) criteria.93 patients with PA were recruited to be treated by adrenal ablation, including 25 bilateral PA and 68 unilateral PA according to AVS results. Office SBP and DBP significantly decreased from baseline levels, serum potassium levels increased and ARR significantly decreased (p < 0.01) in both the bilateral and unilateral groups. In the bilateral group, complete, partial and absent clinical success was achieved in 6 (24.0%), 11 (44.0%) and 8(32.0%) patients, respectively. In the unilateral group, complete, partial and absent clinical success was achieved in 12 (17.6%), 37 (54.4%), and 19 (27.9%) patients, respectively. The numbers of patients achieving complete, partial, and absent biochemical success were 15 (60.0%), 6 (24.0%), and 4 (16.0%), respectively, in the bilateral group versus 37 (54.4%), 9 (13.2%), and 22 (32.3%), respectively, in the unilateral group. In conclusion, we provide evidence for the beneficial outcomes of unilateral adrenal ablation for patients with bilateral PA. Our findings provide insight into an alternative option for patients with bilateral excess aldosterone.

Background: Schistosomiasis is a zoonotic parasitic disorder induced by the infestation of schistosomes, a genus of trematodes. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) in egg-derived exosomes are crucial for modulating the host's immune responses and orchestrating the pathophysiological mechanisms. Although the exosomes secreted by S. japonicum contain abundant miRNAs, the specific roles of these miRNAs in the pathogenesis of schistosomiasis-induced hepatic fibrosis are yet to be comprehensively elucidated. The egg exosomes of S. japonicum secrete miRNA-30, a novel miRNA. Methods: In vitro, the effect of miRNA-30 was evaluated by transfecting HSCs with miRNA mimics. The target gene biosignature for miRNA-30 was predicted using the miRDB software. The effect of miRNA-30 in hepatic fibrosis was evaluated by either elevating its expression in healthy mice or by inhibiting its activity in infected mice by administration of recombinant adeno-associated virus serotype eight vectors expressing miRNA-30 or miRNA sponges. Results: This novel miRNA can activate hepatic stellate cells (HSCs), the prinary effector cells of hepatic fibrosis, in vitro, i.e., it significantly increases the fibrogenic factors Col1(α1), Col3(α1), and α-SMA at both mRNA and protein levels. In addition, miRNA-30 may activate HSCs by targeting the host RORA gene. In addition, in vivo experiments were conducted by administering a recombinant adeno-associated viral vector to modulate the expression levels of miRNA-30. The overexpression of miRNA-30 in healthy mice significantly elevated the expression of Col1(α1), Col3(α1), and α-SMA at both the transcriptomic and proteomic scales. This overexpression was coupled with a pronounced augmentation in the hepatic hydroxyproline content. Conversely, the in vivo silencing of miRNA-30 in infected mice induced a considerable reduction in the size of hepatic granulomas and areas of collagen deposition. Hence, in vivo, modulation of miRNA-30 expression may play a pivotal role in ameliorating the severity of hepatic fibrosis in mice afflicted with S. japonica. Conclusions: The study results suggest that miRNA-30 may augment schistosomiasis-induced hepatic fibrosis through a probable interaction with the host RORA. Our study may improve the current theoretical framework regarding cross-species regulation by miRNAs of hepatic fibrosis in schistosomiasis.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most prevalent form of arrhythmia, with a rising incidence and prevalence worldwide, posing significant implications for public health. In this paper, we introduce an approach that combines the Recurrence Plot (RP) technique and the ResNet architecture to predict AF. Our method involves three main steps: using wavelet filtering to remove noise interference; generating RPs through phase space reconstruction; and employing a multi-level chained residual network for AF prediction. To validate our approach, we established a comprehensive database consisting of electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings from 1008 AF patients and 48,292 Non-AF patients, with a total of 2067 and 93,129 ECGs, respectively. The experimental results demonstrated high levels of prediction precision (90.5%), recall (89.1%), F1 score (89.8%), accuracy (93.4%), and AUC (96%) on our dataset. Moreover, when tested on a publicly available AF dataset (AFPDB), our method achieved even higher prediction precision (94.8%), recall (99.4%), F1 score (97.0%), accuracy (97.0%), and AUC (99.7%). These findings suggest that our proposed method can effectively extract subtle information from ECG signals, leading to highly accurate AF predictions.

BACKGROUND: Poor reporting quality and spin in randomized controlled trial (RCT) abstracts can lead to misinterpretation and distorted interpretation of results. OBJECTIVES: This methodological study aimed to assess the reporting quality and spin among RCT abstracts on splint therapy for temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and explore the association between spin and potentially related factors. METHODS: The authors searched PubMed for RCTs on splint therapy for TMD. The reporting quality of each abstract was assessed using the original 16-item CONSORT for abstracts checklist. The authors evaluated the presence and characteristics of spin only in abstracts with nonsignificant primary outcomes according to pre-determined spin strategies. Logistic regression analyses were performed to identify factors associated with the presence of spin. RESULTS: A total of 148 abstracts were included in the reporting quality evaluation. The mean overall CONSORT score (OCS) was 5.86 (score range: 0-16). Only interventions, objectives and conclusions were adequately reported. Of the 61 RCT abstracts included for spin analysis, spin was identified in 38 abstracts (62.3%), among which 32 abstracts (52.3%) had spin in the Results section and 21 (34.4%) had spin in the Conclusions section. A significantly lower presence of spin was found in studies with exact p-value reporting (OR: 0.170; 95% CI: 0.032-0.887; p = .036) and a two-arm comparison design (OR: 11.777; 95% CI: 2.171-63.877; p = .004). CONCLUSIONS: The reporting quality of RCT abstracts on splint therapy for TMD is suboptimal and the prevalence of spin is high. More awareness and joint efforts are needed to improve reporting quality and minimize spin.

Organic phase-change materials possess immense application potential, but their low thermal conductivity (≤0.5 W m-1 K-1) severely limits the thermal energy charge/discharge rate, impeding their practical implementation in the field of advanced energy. While incorporating thermally conductive fillers into the phase-change matrix can address this issue, achieving a thermal conductivity exceeding 10 W m-1 K-1 at a filler content below 30 vol% remains challenging, attributed to the absence of a well-designed filler interface and structure. Herein, a strategy for developing planar graphene clusters and subsequently integrating them with phase-change microcapsules to fabricate composites using compression molding was demonstrated. The proposed graphene clusters are formed by closely aligned and overlapping graphene sheets that bond together through van der Waals forces, resulting in a significant decrease in junction thermal resistance within the composites. Combining this interface design with compression-induced construction of a highly oriented structure, the composites achieved a remarkable thermal conductivity of 103 W m-1 K-1 with ≈29 vol% filler addition, enhancing the thermal energy charge/discharge rate by over two orders of magnitude. Furthermore, we demonstrated that the composites possess the essential enthalpy values, competent strength, and ease of shaping, making them applicable across various domains of thermal energy management.

Traditional π-conjugated luminescent macromolecules typically suffer from aggregation-caused quenching (ACQ) and high cytotoxicity, and they require complex synthetic processes. In contrast, nonconventional luminescent macromolecules (NCLMs) with nonconjugated structures possess excellent biocompatibility, ease of preparation, unique luminescence behavior, and emerging applications in optoelectronics, biology, and medicine. NCLMs are currently believed to produce inherent luminescence due to through-space conjugation of overlapping electron orbitals in solid/aggregate states. However, as experimental facts continue to exceed expectations or even overturn some previous assumptions, there is still controversy about the detailed luminous mechanism of NCLMs, and extensive studies are needed to further explore the mechanism. This Perspective highlights recent progress in NCLMs and classifies and summarizes these advances from the viewpoint of molecular design, mechanism exploration, applications, and challenges and prospects. The aim is to provide guidance and inspiration for the huge fundamental and practical potential of NCLMs.

Background: Medical staff play a crucial role in delivering healthcare services, especially during epidemics of infectious diseases such as coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, there is a growing issue of burnout and low wellbeing among this group. While it is widely recognized that burnout has a negative impact on subjective wellbeing, the exact relationship between the two is not yet completely understood. The purpose of this study is to explore the chain mediating role of psychological capital and perceived social support between burnout and subjective wellbeing among medical staff. Methods: Using the convenient sampling method, 604 medical staff were selected for a cross-sectional study. All participants completed a self-report questionnaire that collected demographic information, as well as data from the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey, General Wellbeing Schedule, Psychological Capital Questionnaire, and Perceived Social Support Scale. SPSS 27.0 and SPSS PROCESS macro were used for data analysis. Results: There was a significant correlation between burnout, psychological capital, perceived social support, and subjective wellbeing (p < 0.01). Burnout not only has a direct negative impact on the subjective wellbeing of medical staff (effect: -0.2045; Bootstrap 95%CI: -0.2506, -0.1583), but also exerts an indirect influence on subjective wellbeing through three pathways: the independent mediating effect of psychological capital (effect: -0.0481; Bootstrap 95%CI: -0.0876, -0.0109), the independent mediating effect of perceived social support (effect: -0.0092; Bootstrap 95%CI: -0.0203, -0.0003), and the chained mediating effect of psychological capital and perceived social support (effect: -0.0092; Bootstrap 95%CI: -0.0183, -0.0019). Conclusion: High burnout in medical staff can impair the level of psychological capital, leading to diminished perceived social support and ultimately reduced subjective wellbeing. The findings of this study contribute to understanding the potential pathways between burnout and subjective wellbeing and provide preliminary data support for developing strategies to improve the mental health of medical staff.

BACKGROUND: Maintaining the vitality and functionality of dental pulp is paramount for tooth integrity, longevity, and homeostasis. Aiming to treat irreversible pulpitis and necrosis, there has been a paradigm shift from conventional root canal treatment towards regenerative endodontic therapy. AIM OF REVIEW: This extensive and multipart review presents crucial laboratory and practical issues related to pulp-dentin complex regeneration aimed towards advancing clinical translation of regenerative endodontic therapy and enhancing human life quality. KEY SCIENTIFIC CONCEPTS OF REVIEW: In this multipart review paper, we first present a panorama of emerging potential tissue engineering strategies for pulp-dentin complex regeneration from cell transplantation and cell homing perspectives, emphasizing the critical regenerative components of stem cells, biomaterials, and conducive microenvironments. Then, this review provides details about current clinically practiced pulp regenerative/reparative approaches, including direct pulp capping and root revascularization, with a specific focus on the remaining hurdles and bright prospects in developing such therapies. Next, special attention was devoted to discussing the innovative biomimetic perspectives opened in establishing functional tissues by employing exosomes and cell aggregates, which will benefit the clinical translation of dental pulp engineering protocols. Finally, we summarize careful consideration that should be given to basic research and clinical applications of regenerative endodontics. In particular, this review article highlights significant challenges associated with residual infection and inflammation and identifies future insightful directions in creating antibacterial and immunomodulatory microenvironments so that clinicians and researchers can comprehensively understand crucial clinical aspects of regenerative endodontic procedures.

BACKGROUND: Serologically active clinically quiescent (SACQ) is a state within systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) characterized by elevated serologic markers without clinical activity. The heterogeneity in SACQ patients poses challenges in disease management. This multicenter prospective study aimed to identify distinct SACQ subgroups and assess their utility in predicting organ damage. METHODS: SACQ was defined as a sustained period of at least 6 months with persistent serologic activity, marked by positive anti-double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) antibodies and/or hypocomplementemia, and without clinical activity. Cluster analysis was employed, utilizing 16 independent components to delineate phenotypes. FINDINGS: Among the 4,107 patients with SLE, 990 (24.1%) achieved SACQ within 2.0 ± 2.3 years on average. Over a total follow-up of 7,105.1 patient years, 340 (34.3%) experienced flares, and 134 (13.5%) developed organ damage. Three distinct SACQ subgroups were identified. Cluster 1 (n = 219, 22.1%) consisted predominantly of elderly males with a history of major organ involvement at SLE diagnosis, showing the highest risk of severe flares (16.4%) and organ damage (27.9%). Cluster 2 (n = 279, 28.2%) was characterized by milder disease and a lower risk of damage accrual (5.7%). Notably, 86 patients (30.8%) in cluster 2 successfully discontinued low-dose glucocorticoids, with 49 of them doing so without experiencing flares. Cluster 3 (n = 492, 49.7%) featured the highest proportion of lupus nephritis and a moderate risk of organ damage (11.8%), with male patients showing significantly higher risk of damage (hazard ratio [HR] = 4.51, 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.82-11.79). CONCLUSION: This study identified three distinct SACQ clusters, each with specific prognostic implications. This classification could enhance personalized management for SACQ patients. OBJECTIVE: Both diabetes and smoking significantly increase the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Understanding whether a diagnosis of diabetes can be leveraged to promote smoking cessation is a gap in the literature. METHODS: We used data from the US National Health Interview Survey, 2006 to 2018, to investigate the relationship between self-report of diagnosis of diabetes and subsequent smoking abstinence among 142,884 respondents who reported regular smoking at baseline. Effect sizes were presented as hazard ratios (HRs) derived from multivariable Cox regression models adjusted for potential confounders using diabetes as a time-dependent covariate. Subgroup-specific estimates were obtained using interaction terms between diabetes and variables of interest. RESULTS: A self-reported diagnosis of diabetes was associated with smoking abstinence (HR: 1.21; 95% CI: 1.16 to 1.27). The strength of the association varied based on race (P for interaction: 0.004), where it was strongest in African Americans (HR: 1.44; 95% CI: 1.29 to 1.60); income (P for interaction <0.001), where it was strongest in those with a yearly income less than $35,000 (HR: 1.45; 95% CI: 1.36 to 1.53); and educational attainment (P for interaction <0.001), where it was strongest in those who did not attend college (HR: 1.48; 95% CI: 1.40 to 1.57). CONCLUSION: Among adults who smoke, a diagnosis of diabetes is significantly associated with subsequent smoking abstinence. The association is strongest in socially disadvantaged demographics, including African Americans, low-income individuals, and those who did not attend college.

This study aims to develop and validate a machine learning (ML) predictive model for assessing mortality in patients with malignant tumors and hyperkalemia (MTH). We extracted data on patients with MTH from the Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care-IV, version 2.2 (MIMIC-IV v2.2) database. The dataset was split into a training set (75%) and a validation set (25%). We used the Least Absolute Shrinkage and Selection Operator (LASSO) regression to identify potential predictors, which included clinical laboratory indicators and vital signs. Pearson correlation analysis tested the correlation between predictors. In-hospital death was the prediction target. The Area Under the Curve (AUC) and accuracy of the training and validation sets of 7 ML algorithms were compared, and the optimal 1 was selected to develop the model. The calibration curve was used to evaluate the prediction accuracy of the model further. SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP) and Local Interpretable Model-agnostic Explanations (LIME) enhanced model interpretability. 496 patients with MTH in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) were included. After screening, 17 clinical features were included in the construction of the ML model, and the Pearson correlation coefficient was <0.8, indicating that the correlation between the clinical features was small. eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) outperformed other algorithms, achieving perfect scores in the training set (accuracy: 1.000, AUC: 1.000) and high scores in the validation set (accuracy: 0.734, AUC: 0.733). The calibration curves indicated good predictive calibration of the model. SHAP analysis identified the top 8 predictive factors: urine output, mean heart rate, maximum urea nitrogen, minimum oxygen saturation, minimum mean blood pressure, maximum total bilirubin, mean respiratory rate, and minimum pH. In addition, SHAP and LIME performed in-depth individual case analyses. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of ML methods in predicting mortality risk in ICU patients with MTH. It highlights the importance of predictors like urine output and mean heart rate. SHAP and LIME significantly enhanced the model's interpretability.

RESUMEN

The gait rehabilitation knee exoskeleton is an advanced rehabilitative assistive device designed to help patients with knee joint dysfunction regain normal gait through training and activity support. This paper introduces a design framework based on the process knowledge representation method to optimize the design and control efficiency of the knee exoskeleton. This framework integrates knowledge of design objects and processes, specifically including requirements, functions, principle work areas, and the representation and multi-dimensional dynamic mapping of the Behavior-Structure (RFPBS) matrix, achieving multi-dimensional dynamic mapping of the knee exoskeleton. This method incorporates biomechanical and physiological knowledge from the rehabilitation process to more effectively simulate and support gait movements during rehabilitation. Research results indicate that the knee rehabilitation exoskeleton design, based on the RFPBS process knowledge representation model, accomplishes multi-dimensional dynamic mapping, providing a scientific basis and effective support for the rehabilitation of patients with knee joint dysfunction.

To evaluate the efficacy of radiomics features extracted from preoperative high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scans in distinguishing benign and malignant pulmonary pure ground-glass nodules (pGGNs), a retrospective study of 395 patients from 2016 to 2020 was conducted. All nodules were randomly divided into the training and validation sets in the ratio of 7:3. Radiomics features were extracted using MaZda software (version 4.6), and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) was employed for feature selection. Significant differences were observed in the training set between benign and malignant pGGNs in sex, mean CT value, margin, pleural retraction, tumor-lung interface, and internal vascular change, and then the mean CT value and the morphological features model were constructed. Fourteen radiomics features were selected by LASSO for the radiomics model. The combined model was developed by integrating all selected radiographic and radiomics features using logistic regression. The AUCs in the training set were 0.606 for the mean CT value, 0.718 for morphological features, 0.756 for radiomics features, and 0.808 for the combined model. In the validation set, AUCs were 0.601, 0.692, 0.696, and 0.738, respectively. The decision curves showed that the combined model demonstrated the highest net benefit.
