RESUMEN

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory bowel condition that is frequently related with Spleen-Kidney Yang Deficiency Syndrome (SKYD) in Chinese medicine. Fuzi Lizhong Pill (FLZP), a traditional medicine for SKYD, has been utilized in China for generations, although the exact mechanism by which it treats UC is unknown. AIM OF THE STUDY: The goal of this study is to further understand FLZP's therapeutic mechanism in SKYD-associated UC. MATERIALS AND METHODS: To investigate the impact of FLZP on SKYD-associated UC, we used a comprehensive method that included serum metabolomics and gut microbiota profiling. The chemical composition of FLZP was determined using mass spectrometry. UC rats with SKYD were induced and treated with FLZP. Serum metabolomics and 16S rRNA microbial community analysis were used to evaluate FLZP's effects on endogenous metabolites and gut microbiota, respectively. Correlation analysis investigated the association between metabolites and intestinal flora. A metabolic pathway analysis was undertaken to discover putative FLZP action mechanisms. RESULTS: FLZP contains 109 components, including liquiritin (584.8176 µg/g), benzoylaconine (16.3087 µg/g), benzoylhypaconine (31.9583), and hypaconitine (8.1160 µg/g). FLZP predominantly regulated seven metabolites and eight metabolic pathways involved in amino acid and nucleotide metabolism, with an emphasis on energy metabolism and gastrointestinal digestion. FLZP also influenced intestinal flora variety, increasing probiotic abundance while decreasing pathogenic bacteria prevalence. An integrated investigation identified associations between changes in certain gut flora and energy metabolism, specifically the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. CONCLUSIONS: FLZP successfully cures UC in SKYD rats by regulating amino acid and energy metabolism. Its positive effects may include altering microbiota composition and metabolite profiles in UC rats with SKYD. These findings shed light on FLZP's mode of action and its implications for UC management.

RESUMEN

Endogenous hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is one of the most important reactive oxygen species (ROS) and acts as a distinct biomarker that is involved in various inflammatory responses including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Therefore, it's crucial to develop an efficient method for the tracking and analysis of HOCl levels in vivo. Natural products continue to be compounds of interest, because they not only offer diverse and specific molecular scaffolds but also provide invaluable sources for new drug discovery. Herein, we firstly demonstrated harmaline (HML), a natural alkaloid mainly found in Peganum harmala L, could be acted as a novel fluorescent probe for HOCl with exceptional precision and responsiveness. Remarkably, this probe not only specifically tracked HOCl levels in cells and inflammatory RA mouse models, but also exhibited effective anti-inflammatory effects on RAW264.7 cells and anti-proliferative effects on fibroblast-like synoviocytes. Furthermore, HML has the potential to alleviate LPS-induced inflammation by inhibiting the NF-κB signaling pathway. This study represents the first example of a natural product that can simultaneously act as a fluorescent probe for specific ROS and a promising therapeutic candidate for a specific disease, which will undoubtedly extend the application of fluorophore-rich natural products.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Aflatoxin B1, which can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and kill neural cells, can contaminate traditional herbal medicines, posing a significant risk to human health. The present study examined cellular, cognitive and behavioral consequences of aflatoxin B1 contamination of the anti-osteoporotic medicine Radix Dipsaci. METHODS: A mouse model of osteoporosis was created by treating the animals with all-trans-retinoic acid. Then the animals were treated intragastically with water decoctions of Radix Dipsaci that contained detectable aflatoxin B1 or not. The animals were compared in terms of mineral density and mineral salt content of bone, production of pro-inflammatory factors, neurogenesis and microglial activation in hippocampus, as well as behavior and cognitive function. RESULTS: Contamination of Radix Dipsaci with aflatoxin B1 significantly reduced the medicine's content of bioactive saponins. It destroyed the ability of the herbal decoction to improve mineral density and mineral salt content in the bones of diseased mice, and it induced the production of the oxidative stress marker malondialdehyde as well as the pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1ß and tumor necrosis factor-α. Aflatoxin B1 contamination inhibited formation of new neurons and increased the proportion of activated microglia in the hippocampus. These neurological changes were associated with anhedonia, behavioral despair, and deficits in short-term memory and social memory. CONCLUSION: Contamination of Radix Dipsaci with aflatoxin B1 not only eliminates the herbal decoction's anti-osteoporotic effects, but it also induces neurotoxicity that can lead to cognitive decline and behavioral abnormalities. Such contamination should be avoided through tightly regulated production and quality control of medicinal herbs.

RESUMEN

Many countries and commercial organizations have shown great interest in constructing a Martian base. In situ resource utilization (ISRU) provides a cost-effective way to achieve this ambitious goal. In this article, we proposed to use Martian soil simulant to produce a fiber to satisfy material requirement for the construction of Martian base. The composition, melting behavior, and fiber forming process of the soil simulant was studied, and continuous fiber with maximum strength of 1320 MPa and elastic modulus of 99 GPa was obtained on a spinning facility. The findings of this study demonstrate the feasibility of ISRU to prepare Martian fiber from the soil on the Mars, offering a new way to obtain key materials for the construction of a Martian base.

RESUMEN

Starting from the dinickel(II) dihydride complex [ML(Ni-H)2] (1M), where L3- is a bis(tridentate) pyrazolate-bridged bis(ß-diketiminato) ligand and M+ is Na+ or K+, a series of complexes [KLNi2(S2)] (2K), [MLNi2S] (3M), [LNi2(SMe)] (4), and [LNi2(SH)] (5) has been prepared. The µ-sulfido complexes 3M can be reversibly oxidized at E1/2 = -1.17 V (in THF; vs Fc+/Fc) to give [LNi2(S•)] (6) featuring a bridging S-radical. 6 has been comprehensively characterized, including by X-ray diffraction, SQUID magnetometry, EPR and XAS/XES spectroscopies, and DFT calculations. The pKa of the µ-hydrosulfido complex 5 in THF is 30.8 ± 0.4, which defines a S-H bond dissociation free energy (BDFE) of 75.1 ± 1.0 kcal mol-1. 6 reacts with H atom donors such as TEMPO-H and xanthene to give 5, while 5 reacts with 2,4,6-tri(tert-butyl)phenoxy radical in a reverse H atom transfer to generate 6. These findings provide the first full characterization of a genuine M-(µ-S•-)-M complex and provide insights into its proton-coupled electron transfer (PCET) reactivity, which is of interest in view of the prominence of M-(µ-SH/µ-S)-M units in biological systems and heterogeneous catalysis.

RESUMEN

Macrocyclic peptides are promising scaffolds for the covalent ligand discovery. However, platforms enabling the direct identification of covalent macrocyclic ligands in a high-throughput manner are limited. In this study, we present an mRNA display platform allowing selection of covalent macrocyclic inhibitors using 1,3-dibromoacetone-vinyl sulfone (DBA-VS). Testcase selections on TEV protease resulted in potent covalent inhibitors with diverse cyclic structures, among which cTEV6-2, a macrocyclic peptide with a unique C-terminal cyclization, emerged as the most potent covalent inhibitor of TEV protease described to-date. This study outlines the workflow for integrating chemical functionalization─installation of a covalent warhead─with mRNA display and showcases its application in targeted covalent ligand discovery.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: It is known that the neurodevelopmental disorder associated gene, Satb2, plays important roles in determining the upper layer neuron specification. However, it is not well known how this gene regulates other neocortical regions during the development. It is also lack of comprehensive delineation of its spatially regulatory pathways in neocortical development. RESULTS: In this work, we utilized spatial transcriptomics and immuno-staining to systematically investigate the region-specific gene regulation of Satb2 by comparing the Satb2+/+ and Satb2-/- mice at embryonic stages, including the ventricle zone (VZ) or subventricle zone (SVZ), intermediate zone (IZ) and cortical plate (CP) respectively. The staining result reveals that these three regions become moderately or significantly thinner in the Satb2-/- mice. In the cellular level, the cell number increases in the VZ/SVZ, whereas the cell number decreases in the CP. The spatial transcriptomics data show that many important genes and relevant pathways are dysregulated in Satb2-/- mice in a region-specific manner. In the VZ/SVZ, the key genes involved in neural precursor cell proliferation, including the intermediate progenitor marker Tbr2 and the lactate production related gene Ldha, are up-regulated in Satb2-/- mice. In the IZ, the key genes in regulating neuronal differentiation and migration, such as Rnd2, exhibit ectopic expressions in the Satb2-/- mice. In the CP, the lineage-specific genes, Tbr1 and Bcl11b, are abnormally expressed. The neuropeptide related gene Npy is down-regulated in Satb2-/- mice. Finally, we validated the abnormal expressions of key regulators by using immunofluorescence or qPCR. CONCLUSIONS: In summary, our work provides insights on the region-specific genes and pathways which are regulated by Satb2 in neocortical development.

RESUMEN

Migraine as a common neurological disorder still lacks effective therapies. Tetramethylpyrazine (TMP) is the main bioactive component from Ligusticum chuanxiong hort., a traditional edible-medicinal herb. This study aimed to investigate the action of TMP on migraine by metabolomics with mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) analysis and molecular exploring, including random forest model analysis, KEGG enrichment analysis and metabolite-metabolite interaction network analysis. The results indicated that 26 key representative metabolic biomarkers were identified, especially γ-glu-cys, which were highly related to glutathione (GSH) metabolism. MSI found the abundance of eleven endogenous metabolites were modulated by TMP, particularly glucose, the most important energy metabolism molecule, and GSH were increased that maintains intracellular redox balance, which was consistent with activation of Nrf2 signals by TMP. These findings provide insights into the effectiveness of metabolomics integrated with MSI in explaining the metabolic mechanisms of TMP, and afford valuable information for healthy development of TMP in migraine.

RESUMEN

The ß-glucosidases known to improve tea aroma are all mesothermal enzymes, limiting their use under brewing conditions. Based on the properties analysis and molecular docking, the thermostable ß-glucosidase (TPG) from Thermotoga petrophlia showed potential to enhance tea aroma. Treatment by recombinant TPG at 90 °C, the floral, sweet and grassy notes of instant Oolong tea were increased, while the roasted, caramel and woody notes were decreased. The improved floral, sweet and grassy notes were related to increase releasing of benzyl alcohol (floral), geraniol (floral), (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol (grassy), benzaldehyde (sweet) and 1-hexanol (grassy) by TPG hydrolyzing of (Z)-3-hexenyl-ß-D-glucopyranoside, hexanyl-ß-D-glucopyranoside (HGP), benzyl-ß-D-glucopyranoside, prunasin and geranyl-ß-D-glucopyranoside (GGP), respectively. Although the catalytic efficiency of TGP to GGP was about twice that to HGP, HPG was more competitive than GGP when they mixed. Combined with microstructure analysis, the structure-function relationship of TPG-influencing tea aroma were understood. This study provided the method of how to mining new function of characterized ß-glucosidases, as well as a theoretical basis for the development of new tea products.

RESUMEN

Background: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (ICC) is a highly desmoplastic tumor with poor prognosis even after curative resection. We investigated the associations between the composition of the ICC stroma and immune cell infiltration and aimed to develop a stromal-immune signature to predict prognosis in surgically treated ICC. Patients and methods: We recruited 359 ICC patients and performed immunohistochemistry to detect α-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), CD3, CD4, CD8, Foxp3, CD68, and CD66b. Aniline was used to stain collagen deposition. Survival analyses were performed to detect prognostic values of these markers. Recursive partitioning for a discrete-time survival tree was applied to define a stromal-immune signature with distinct prognostic value. We delineated an integrated stromal-immune signature based on immune cell subpopulations and stromal composition to distinguish subgroups with different recurrence-free survival (RFS) and overall survival (OS) time. Results: We defined four major patterns of ICC stroma composition according to the distributions of α-SMA and collagen: dormant (α-SMAlow/collagenhigh), fibrogenic (α-SMAhigh/collagenhigh), inert (α-SMAlow/collagenlow), and fibrolytic (α-SMAhigh/collagenlow). The stroma types were characterized by distinct patterns of infiltration by immune cells. We divided patients into six classes. Class I, characterized by high CD8 expression and dormant stroma, displayed the longest RFS and OS, whereas Class VI, characterized by low CD8 expression and high CD66b expression, displayed the shortest RFS and OS. The integrated stromal-immune signature was consolidated in a validation cohort. Conclusion: We developed and validated a stromal-immune signature to predict prognosis in surgically treated ICC. These findings provide new insights into the stromal-immune response to ICC.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Colorectal cancer (CRC), specifically colon adenocarcinoma, is the third most prevalent and the second most lethal form of cancer. Anoikis is found to be specialized form of programmed cell death (PCD), which plays a pivotal role in tumor progression. This study aimed to investigate the role of the anoikis related genes (ARGs) in colon cancer. METHODS: Consensus unsupervised clustering, differential expression analysis, tumor mutational burden analysis, and analysis of immune cell infiltration were utilized in the study. For the analysis of RNA sequences and clinical data of COAD patients, data from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were obtained. A prognostic scoring system for overall survival (OS) prediction was developed using Cox regression and LASSO regression analysis. Furthermore, loss-of-function assay was utilized to explore the role of RAD9A played in the progression of colon cancer. RESULTS: The prognostic value of a risk score composed of NTRK2, EPHA2, RAD9A, CDC25C, and SNAI1 genes was significant. Furthermore, these findings suggested potential mechanisms that may influence prognosis, supporting the development of individualized treatment plans and management of patient outcomes. Further experiments confirmed that RAD9A could promote proliferation and metastasis of colon cancer cells. These effects may be achieved by affecting the phosphorylation of AKT. CONCLUSION: Differences in survival time and the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) were observed between two gene clusters associated with ARGs. In addition, a prognostic risk model was established and confirmed as an independent risk factor. Furthermore, our data indicated that RAD9A promoted tumorigenicityby activating AKT in colon cancer.

RESUMEN

Heteroaromatic N-oxides, renowned for their highly polar N─O bond and robust structure, exhibit significant bioactivities and have played a pivotal role in various drug development projects since the discovery of Minoxidil. Moreover, heteroaromatic N-oxides, featuring axially chiral biaryl frameworks, are indispensable as Lewis base catalysts and ligands in organic synthesis. Despite their importance, synthesizing these chiral compounds is challenging, necessitating chiral starting materials or resolution processes. Catalytic strategies rely on the functionalization of heteroaromatic N-oxide compounds, leading to products with a relatively limited skeletal diversity. This study introduces a Cu-catalyzed atroposelective method for synthesizing biaryl N-oxides via de novo heteroaromatic N-oxide ring formation. This mild and efficient approach achieves excellent stereoselectivities (up to 99:1 er), enabling the production of a wide array of N-oxides with novel heteroaromatic scaffolds. The axially chiral N-oxide product 3f demonstrates high stereoselectivity and recyclability as a Lewis base catalyst. Additionally, product 3e exhibits promising therapeutic efficacy against triple-negative breast cancer, with IC50 values of 4.8 and 5.2 µm in MDA-MB-231 and MDA-MB-468 cells, respectively. This research not only advances the synthesis of challenging chiral heteroaromatic N-oxides but also encourages further exploration of N-oxide entities in the discovery of bioactive small molecules.

RESUMEN

High circulating vitamin D levels and supplementation may lower prostate cancer mortality. To probe for direct effects of vitamin D signaling in the primary tumor, we assessed how activation of intratumoral vitamin D signaling in prostate cancer is associated with lethal prostate cancer during long-term follow-up. Among 404 participants with primary prostate cancer in the Health Professionals Follow-up Study and the Physicians' Health Study, we defined a gene score of expected activated intratumoral vitamin D signaling consisting of transcriptionally upregulated (CYP27A1, CYP2R1, RXRA, RXRB, VDR) and downregulated genes (CYP24A1, DHCR7). We contrasted vitamin D signaling in tumors that progressed to lethal disease (metastases/prostate cancer-specific death, n = 119) over up to three decades of follow-up with indolent tumors that remained nonmetastatic for >8 years post-diagnosis (n = 285). The gene score was downregulated in tumor tissue compared to tumor-adjacent histologically normal tissue of the same men. Higher vitamin D gene scores were inversely associated with lethal prostate cancer (odds ratio for highest vs. lowest quartile: 0.46, 95% CI: 0.21 to 0.99) in a dose-response fashion and after adjusting for clinical and pathologic factors. This association appeared strongest among men with high predicted plasma 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 and men with body mass index ≥25 kg/m2. Findings were replicated with broader gene sets. These data support the hypothesis that active intratumoral vitamin D signaling is associated with better prostate cancer outcomes and provide further rationale for testing how vitamin D-related interventions after diagnosis could improve prostate cancer survival through effects on the tumor.

RESUMEN

Dynamic hydrogels with the features of injection, self-healing, and remodeling at the target site have been developed as smart multifunctional biomaterials for drug delivery. However, most self-healing injectable hydrogels are difficult to control protein release after implantation, owing to the deficiency of pH responsiveness, which reduces the bioavailability of proteins. Herein, we propose a facile strategy to endow pH responsiveness into a dynamic hydrogel with both self-healing and injectable capabilities, by crosslinking biomacromolecular backbones via dual pH sensitive dynamic covalent bond. Particularly, oxidized konjac glucomannan (OKGM) can be crosslinked with poly (aspartic hydrazide) (PAHy) and N-carboxyethyl chitosan (CEC) to form dynamic acylhydrazone bonds and imide bonds, respectively, endowing the hydrogel with pH responsiveness and dynamic behaviors. Specifically, PAHy facilitates the formation of acylhydrazone bonds, improving the mechanical properties and pH sensitivity while reducing the degradation behavior of the hydrogels under physiological conditions. Kinetics indicate that the release of bovine serum albumin follows Fick diffusion under different pH conditions. The pH responsive hydrogel with self-healing injectable capabilities has the potential to be used as a controllable and sustain release carrier for protein drugs.

RESUMEN

Red fluorescent hydrogels possessing injectable and self-healing properties have widespread potential in biomedical field. It is still a challenge to achieve a biomacromolecules based dynamic hydrogels simultaneously combining with excellent red fluorescence, good mechanical properties, and biocompatibility. Here we first explore hydrophilic inclusion complex of (R-CDs@α-CD) derived from hydrophobic red fluorescent carbon dots (R-CDs) and α-cyclodextrin (α-CD), and then achieved a red fluorescent and dynamic polysaccharide R-CDs@α-CD/CEC-l-OSA hydrogel. The nanocomposite hydrogel can be fabricated through controlled doping of red fluorescent R-CDs@α-CD into dynamic polymer networks, taking reversibly crosslinked N-carboxyethyl chitosan (CEC) and oxidized sodium alginate (OSA) as an example. The versatile red fluorescent hydrogel simultaneously combines the features of injection, biocompatibility, and augmented mechanical properties and self-healing behavior, especially in rapid self-recovery even after integration. The R-CDs@α-CD uniformly dispersed into dynamic hydrogel played the role of killing two birds with one stone, that is, endowing red emission of a hydrophilic fluorescent substance, and improving mechanical and self-healing properties as a dynamic nano-crosslinker, via forming hydrogen bonds as reversible crosslinkings. The novel red fluorescent and dynamic hydrogel based on polysaccharides is promising for using as biomaterials in biomedical field.

RESUMEN

Zhu-Ling decoction (ZLD), a classical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formula, is used for the treatment of chronic kidney diseases. However, the structure and activity of absorbed oligosaccharides (OSs) in ZLD are not clear. In this study, a novel strategy with in vivo characterization, extraction, isolation, activity evaluation was established and applied to identify absorbed anti-inflammatory OSs in ZLD. The results revealed that 30 OSs (22 reducing and 8 non-reducing OSs) and 11 OSs (7 reducing and 4 non-reducing OS) were characterized from ZLD in vitro and in vivo by using UPLC/Q-TOF-MS with PMP derivatization, respectively. Among them, a series of -1 â†’ 3-ß-D-Glcp-OSs were isolated and identified by HPLC-HILIC-UVD-ELSD, SPHPLC-HILIC-RID, monosaccharide composition, MS and 1D/2D-NMR spectroscopy, including laminaritriose, laminaritetraose, laminaripentaose, laminarihexaose, laminariheptaose, laminarioctaose and laminarinonaose. Moreover, the 4 non-reducing absorbed OSs were identified by comparison with reference standards, including sucrose, trehalose, raffinose and stachyose. Among them, laminaritriose, laminaritetraose and laminaripentaose significantly inhibited TNF-α and IL-6 levels in LPS-induced HK-2 cell and exerted significant anti-inflammatory effects via the NF-κB and Akt/mTOR signaling pathways. Together, our work provides a novel strategy for discovery of absorbed anti-inflammatory OSs and broadens new horizons for the discovery of in vivo pharmacodynamic substances in TCM formulas.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: The adoption of Robotic Pancreaticoduodenectomy (RPD) is increasing globally. Meanwhile, reduced-port RPD (RPRPD) remains uncommon, requiring robot-specific techniques not possible with laparoscopy. We introduce a unique RPRPD technique optimizing surgical field exposure. METHODS: Our RPRPD utilizes a single-site plus-two ports technique, facilitated by a single-port platform through a 5-cm incision. The configuration of robotic arms (arm1, arm2, arm3, and arm4) were strategically designed for optimal procedural efficiency, with the arms2 and arm3, alongside the assistant trocar, mounted on the single-port platform, while the arms1 and arm4 were positioned laterally across the abdomen. Drainage was established via channels created at the arm1 and arm4 insertion sites. A "gooseneck traction" was principally employed with the robotic instrument to prop up the specimen rather than grasp, improving the surgical field's visibility and access. Clinical outcomes of patients who underwent RPRPD performed between August 2020 and September 2023 by a single surgeon across two centers in Taiwan and Japan were reviewed. RESULTS: Fifty patients underwent RPRPD using the single-site plus-two ports technique. The gooseneck traction technique enabled goodsurgical field deployment and allowed for unrestricted movement of robotic arms with no collisions with the assistant instruments. The median operative time was 351 min (250-488 min), including 271 min (219-422 min) of console time and three minutes (2-10 min) of docking time. The median estimated blood loss was 80 mL (1-872 mL). All RPRPD procedures were successfully performed without the need for conversion to open surgery. Postoperative major morbidity (i.e., Clavien-Dindo grade ≥ IIIa) was observed in 6 (12%) patients and median postoperative hospital stay was 13 days. CONCLUSIONS: The single-site plus-two ports RPRPD with the gooseneck traction proves to be a safe, feasible option, facilitating surgical field visibility and robotic arm maneuverability.

RESUMEN

Introduction: Mobile social media is a new type of online media that is participatory, open, and communicative, among other characteristics. Due to the increasing popularity of social media, this technology has become an indispensable part of people's social lives. This study aims to examine the relationship between childhood psychological maltreatment and social media addiction among university students as well as the mediating role of fear of missing out and the moderating effect of left-behind experience in this context. Material and methods: A voluntary anonymous online survey of 1694 university students was conducted using the Childhood Psychological Maltreatment Scale, the Fear of Missing Out Scale, and the Social Media Addiction Scale. Results: First, significant positive correlations were observed between childhood psychological maltreatment and both fear of missing out and social media addiction among university students. Fear of missing out partially mediated the relationship between childhood psychological maltreatment and social media addiction. Second, left-behind experience was found to moderate the direct path from childhood psychological maltreatment to social media addiction as well as the first half of the mediating effect of missed anxiety. Conclusions: Childhood psychological maltreatment can predict social media addiction among university students not only directly but also indirectly through the mediating role of missed anxiety. The direct effect of childhood psychological maltreatment on social media addiction is moderated by left-behind experience. The first half of the mediating role of missed anxiety is also moderated by left-behind experience.

RESUMEN

In this work, the waste orange-peel was used as carbon source, and the orange-peel derived carbon material can be obtained through simple pyrolysis. Then, we designed the structure of orange-peel carbon aerogel grown on iron-nickel layered double hydroxides in situ to achieve the effect of carbon coating (FeNi-LDH/CA). The oxygen evolution reaction catalytic performance of FeNi-LDH/CA is excellent, far exceeding that of commercial RuO2. In 1 M KOH, the overpotential of FeNi-LDH/CA is only 250 mV (10 mA cm-2), obviously better than that of commercial RuO2 (295 mV). FeNi-LDH/CA shows good cycling stability, and after long-term i-t testing, the performance only decays by 3% after running at 100 mA cm-2 for 100 h. When used as an anode, the voltage of water-splitting is only 1.48 V at 10 mA cm-2. The rechargeable liquid zinc-air battery based on Pt/C-FeNi-LDH/CA catalyst has higher open-circuit voltage (1.543 V) and galvanostatic discharge capacity at 1.23 V (830 min, 10 mA cm-2). Moreover, the zinc-air battery based on Pt/C-FeNi-LDH/CA has a small charge-discharge voltage gap (0.65 V) at 10 mA cm-2, after 200 consecutive cycles (66 h), the charge-discharge voltage gap only increased by about 30 mV, indicating good cycling stability.
