Fucosyltransferases are enzymes that transfer L-fucose residues from a donor substrate to target molecules. These enzymes are encoded by genes known as FUTs (FUT1 to FUT-11), along with POFUT1 and 2. Changes in FUT expression have a significant role in cancer development and malignancy. This review delves into the biochemistry and biological functions of FUTs and their contributions to cancer. Broadly, FUTs play roles in cancer tumorigenesis, survival, and metastasis. Interactions between fucosylated glycans and various molecules associated with cancer, such as E-selectins and the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), offer alternative pathways for cancer development. The review also highlights FUTs as potential biomarkers for cancer prognosis and diagnosis, along with their application as targets for therapy.

Patients undergoing chemotherapy with cisplatin commonly present gastrointestinal effects such as constipation and gastric emptying (GE) delay. Both the purinergic system and physical exercise modulate the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. In the current study, we investigated the role of ATP, physical exercise, and P2X7 receptor blocking on GE delay induced by cisplatin in rats. Male rats were divided into the following groups: control (C), cisplatin (Cis), exercise (Ex), Brilliant Blue G (BBG), ATP, Cis+Ex, Cis+ATP, Cis+BBG, Cis+Ex+BBG, Cis+Ex+BBG+ATP, and Cis+ATP+BBG. GE delay was induced by treatment with 1 mg/kg cisplatin (1 time/week for 5 weeks, ip). The moderate physical exercise was swimming (1 h/day, 5 days/week for 5 weeks). At the end of the treatment or exercise and 30 min before the GE assessment, some groups received BBG (50 mg/kg, sc) or ATP (2 mg/kg, sc). Then, GE was assessed after a 10-min postprandial period. Chronic use of Cis decreased GE delay (P<0.05) compared to the control group. Both exercise and ATP prevented (P<0.05) GE delay compared to Cis. The pretreatment with BBG significantly inhibited (P<0.05) the effect of exercise and ATP. On the other hand, the association between exercise and ATP reversed (P<0.05) the effect of the BBG and prevented GE delay. Therefore, we suggest that both exercise and treatment with ATP activate P2X7 receptors and prevent GE delay induced by cisplatin in rats.

AIMS: Head and neck radiotherapy long-term survival continues to improve and the management of long-term side-effects is moving to the forefront of patient care. Dysphagia is associated with dose to the pharyngeal constrictors and can be measured using patient-reported outcomes to evaluate its effect on quality of life. The aim of the present study was to relate pharyngeal constrictor dose-volume parameters with patient-reported outcomes to identify prognostic dose constraints. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A 64-patient training cohort and a 24-patient testing cohort of oropharynx and nasopharynx cancer patients treated with curative-intent chemoradiotherapy were retrospectively examined. These patients completed the MD Anderson Dysphagia Inventory outcome survey at 12 months post-radiotherapy to evaluate late dysphagia: a composite score lower than 60 indicated dysphagia. The pharyngeal constrictor muscles were subdivided into four substructures: superior, middle, inferior and cricopharyngeal. Dose-volume histogram (DVH) metrics for each of the structure combinations were extracted. A decision tree classifier was run for each DVH metric to identify dose constraints optimising the accuracy and sensitivity of the cohort. A 60% accuracy threshold and feature selection method were used to ensure statistically significant DVH metrics were identified. These dose constraints were then validated on the 24-patient testing cohort. RESULTS: Existing literature dose constraints only had two dose constraints performing above 60% accuracy and sensitivity when evaluated on our training cohort. We identified two well-performing dose constraints: the pharyngeal constrictor muscle D63% < 55 Gy and the superior-middle pharyngeal constrictor combination structure V31Gy < 100%. Both dose constraints resulted in ≥73% mean accuracy and ≥80% mean sensitivity on the training and testing patient cohorts. In addition, a pharyngeal constrictor muscle mean dose <57 Gy resulted in a mean accuracy ≥74% and mean sensitivity ≥60%. CONCLUSION: Mid-dose pharyngeal constrictor muscle and substructure combination dose constraints should be used in the treatment planning process to reduce late patient-reported dysphagia.

Quantum emitters in two-dimensional hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) have generated significant interest due to observations of ultra-bright emission made at room temperature. The expectation that solid-state emitters exhibit broad zero-phonon lines at elevated temperatures has been put in question by recent observations of Fourier transform (FT) limited photons emitted from h-BN flakes at room temperature. All decoupled emitters produce photons that are directed in-plane, suggesting that the dipoles are perpendicular to the h-BN plane. Motivated by the promise of an efficient and scalable source of indistinguishable photons that can operate at room temperature, we have developed an approach using density functional theory (DFT) to determine the electron-phonon coupling for defects that have in- and out-of-plane transition dipole moments. Our DFT calculations reveal that the transition dipole for theC2CNdefect is parallel to the h-BN plane, and for theVNNBdefect is perpendicular to the plane. We calculate both the phonon density of states and the electron-phonon matrix elements associated with the h-BN defective structures. We find no indication that an out-of-plane transition dipole by itself will result in the low electron-phonon coupling that is expected to produce FT-limited photons at room temperature. Our work provides direction to future DFT software developments and adds to the growing list of calculations relevant to researchers in the field of solid-state quantum information processing.

Rapid reaction time, high attainable temperatures, minimum operating voltage, excellent optical transmittance, and tunable sheet resistance are all desirable properties of transparent conductors, which are important thin-film components in numerous electronic devices. A seamless nanowire network (NWN) refers to a structure composed of nanowires that lack interwire contact junctions, resulting in a continuous and uninterrupted network arrangement. This seamless nature leads to unique properties, including high conductivity and surface area-to-volume ratios, which make it a promising candidate for a vast application range in nanotechnology. Here, we have conducted an in-depth computational investigation to study the thermo-electro-optical properties of seamless nanowire networks and understand their geometrical features using in-house computational implementations and a coupled electrothermal model built in COMSOL Multiphysics software. Sheet resistance calculations were performed using Ohm's law combined with Kirchhoff circuit laws for a random resistor network and compared with those obtained employing COMSOL. In this work, aluminium, gold, copper, and silver nanowires are the materials of choice for testing the transparent conduction performance of our systems. We have studied a wide range of tuning parameters, including the network area fraction, the width-to-depth aspect ratio, and the length of the nanowire segments. We obtained corresponding figures of merit (optical transmittance versus sheet resistance) and temperature distributions to provide a complete characterization of the performance of real-world transparent conductors idealized with seamless NWNs. Our analysis accounted for the thermo-electro-optical responses of the NWNs and the inspection of various controlling parameters depending on system design considerations to shed light on how the electrical transport, optical qualities, and thermal management of these systems can be optimized.

SiC2 is a fascinating molecule due to its unusual bonding and astrophysical importance. In this work, we report the first global potential energy surface (PES) for ground-state SiC2 using the combined-hyperbolic-inverse-power-representation method and accurate ab initio energies. The calibration grid data are obtained via a general dual-level protocol developed afresh herein that entails both coupled-cluster and multi-reference configuration interaction energies jointly extrapolated to the complete basis set limit. Such an approach is specially devised to recover much of the spectroscopy from the PES, while still permitting a proper fragmentation of the system to allow for reaction dynamics studies. Besides describing accurately the valence strongly bound region that includes both the cyclic global minimum and isomerization barriers, the final analytic PES form is shown to properly reproduce dissociation energies, diatomic potentials, and long-range interactions at all asymptotic channels, in addition to naturally reflect the correct permutational symmetry of the potential. Bound vibrational state calculations have been carried out, unveiling an excellent match of the available experimental data on c-SiC2(A11). To further exploit the global nature of the PES, exploratory quasi-classical trajectory calculations for the endothermic C2 + Si â SiC + C reaction are also performed, yielding thermalized rate coefficients for temperatures up to 5000 K. The results hint for the prominence of this reaction in the innermost layers of the circumstellar envelopes around carbon-rich stars, hence conceivably playing therein a key contribution to the gas-phase formation of SiC, and eventually, solid SiC dust.

Glioblastoma patients have a poor prognosis mainly due to temozolomide (TMZ) resistance. NRF2 is an important transcript factor involved in chemotherapy resistance due to its protective role in the transcription of genes involved in cellular detoxification and prevention of cell death processes, such as ferroptosis. However, the relation between NRF2 and iron-dependent cell death in glioma is still poorly understood. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the role of NRF2 in ferroptosis modulation in glioblastoma cells. Two human glioblastoma cell lines (U251MG and T98G) were examined after treatment with TMZ, ferroptosis inducers (Erastin, RSL3), and ferroptosis inhibitor (Ferrostatin-1). Our results demonstrated that T98G was more resistant to chemotherapy compared to U251MG and showed elevated levels of NRF2 expression. Interestingly, T98G revealed higher sensitivity to ferroptosis, and significant GSH depletion upon system xc- blockage. NRF2 silencing in T98G cells (T98G-shNRF2) significantly reduced the viability upon TMZ treatment. On the other hand, T98G-shNRF2 was resistant to ferroptosis and reverted intracellular GSH levels, indicating that NRF2 plays a key role in ferroptosis induction through GSH modulation. Moreover, silencing of ABCC1, a well-known NRF2 target that diminishes GSH levels, has demonstrated a similar collateral sensitivity. T98G-siABCC1 cells were more sensitive to TMZ and resistant to Erastin. Furthermore, we found that NRF2 positively correlates with ABCC1 expression in tumor tissues of glioma patients, which can be associated with tumor aggressiveness, drug resistance, and poor overall survival. Altogether, our data indicate that high levels of NRF2 result in collateral sensitivity on glioblastoma via the expression of its pro-ferroptotic target ABCC1, which contributes to GSH depletion when the system xc- is blocked by Erastin. Thus, ferroptosis induction could be an important therapeutic strategy to reverse drug resistance in gliomas with high NRF2 and ABCC1 expression.

Non-biodegradable metals such as mercury accumulate in living organisms during life (bioaccumulation) and also within trophic webs (biomagnification) and may reach high concentrations in humans. The contamination of humans by mercury in drinking water and food may be common, in particular in riverside communities that have a diet rich in fish. In vitro studies of human cell lines exposed to the cytotoxic and mutagenic effects of methylmercury have shown that prolactin has potential cytoprotective properties and may act as a co-mitogenic factor and inhibitor of apoptosis. The present in vivo study investigated the protective potential of prolactin against the toxic effects of methylmercury in the mammal Mus musculus. Histological and biochemical analyses, together with biomarker of genotoxicity, were used to verify the protective potential of prolactin in mice exposed to methylmercury. The reduction in kidney and liver tissue damage was not significant. However, results of biochemical and genotoxic analyses were excellent. After prolactin treatment, a significant reduction was observed in biochemical parameters and mutagenic effects of methylmercury. The study results therefore indicated that prolactin has protective effects against the toxicity of methylmercury and allowed us to suggest the continuation of research to propose prolactin in the future, as an alternative to prevent the damage caused by mercury, especially in populations that are more exposed.

Osteochondral lesion of the talus is defined as damage in the cartilage that covers the talus bone, compromising the integrity of the joint in the long term. Due to the low incidence of this pathology, there are few studies to understand the importance of lesion size and position in cartilage strains. The purpose of this study is then to analyze the influence of the lesion size in joint behavior. A 3D virtual and in vitro model of a patient's injured ankle joint was developed. The models were built using CT scan and MRI images, to obtain the CAD models of intact and with 10 mm lesion size for 3D print models using additive manufacturing. The physical model was tested with 685N applied vertically to determine experimentally the principal strains and contact pressures in the cartilage. Five finite element models were developed with lesion dimensions (5 to 20 mm) and with 3 ankle joint positions. The numerical and experimental results were correlated with an R2 = 0.86 justified by the complexity of the model geometry. The maximum principal strain was 2566µÎµ in the plantar flexion position without lesion. The experimental contact area between cartilages increased by 1.2% in the 10 mm lesion size for 431 mm2. The maximum stress in the cartilage was observed for a 20 mm lesion size with 2.5 MPa. The 5 and 10 mm sizes present similar results; the 15 mm lesion size presents a stress increase of 13% comparatively with 10 mm. Plantar flexion seems to be the most critical configuration; stress increases with an increase of lesion size around the cartilage.

Abstract Although currently there is already a set of studies regarding ecological aspects of some particular reptile and amphibian species living in Brazilian sandy coastal plains (including the so-called "restinga" and "campo nativo" habitats), there is comparatively few information on the species composition usually associated to these environments. During 31 years (1988-2019) of herpetological studies carried out in sandy coastal plains environments by our research team of the Laboratory of Vertebrate Ecology (Department of Ecology, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, in Rio de Janeiro Brazil) we have surveyed reptile and amphibian communities and performed different studies with similar methods in 70 sites from 10 different states along the Brazilian coast. Our surveys resulted in records of 87 species of reptile (five turtles, two crocodylians, six amphisbaenians, 36 lizards and 39 snakes) from 24 families, and 77 species of anuran amphibians from nine families. We have studied multiple natural history topics for anurans and reptiles which resulted in the publication of some specific ecological studies, especially regarding some species, encompassing population and community ecology, foraging and feeding habits, species activity, thermoregulation, reproduction, use of microhabitats, and parasitism by ecto and endoparasites. Our results along these three decades have also contributed for the description of four new lizard species (Ameivula nativo, Glaucomastix littoralis, G. abaetensis and G. itabaianensis). Our studies constitute an important contribution to the knowledge of the ecology of anuran amphibians and reptiles in these ecosystems, as well as to the conservation of sandy coastal plains environment. The checklist presented in this study, based on our records of sandy coastal plains herpetofauna, provides for many localities along the Brazilian coast, the needed knowledge on species occurrence, including the presence of endemic and/or endangered species, which can be of value for many conservation actions.
Resumo Embora atualmente exista um conjunto de estudos sobre aspectos ecológicos de algumas espécies de répteis e de anfíbios que ocorrem nas planícies costeiras arenosas brasileiras (incluindo os chamados habitats de "restinga" e de "campo nativo"), há relativamente poucas informações sobre a composição de espécies geralmente associada a esses ambientes. Durante 31 anos (1988-2019) de estudos herpetológicos realizados em restingas por nossa equipe de pesquisa do Laboratório de Ecologia de Vertebrados (Departamento de Ecologia, Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil) nós estudamos comunidades de répteis e de anfíbios e realizamos diferentes estudos com métodos semelhantes em 70 localidades de dez diferentes Estados ao longo da costa brasileira. Nossas pesquisas resultaram em registros de 87 espécies de répteis (cinco tartarugas, dois crocodilianos, seis anfisbênios, 36 lagartos e 39 serpentes) de 24 famílias, e 77 espécies de anfíbios anuros de nove famílias. Estudamos vários tópicos de história natural sobre anuros e répteis, que resultaram na publicação de alguns estudos ecológicos específicos, especialmente em relação a algumas espécies, abrangendo ecologia populacional e de comunidades, forrageamento e dieta, horário de atividade de espécies, termorregulação, reprodução, uso do microhabitat e parasitismo por ecto e endoparasitas. Nossos resultados ao longo dessas três décadas também contribuíram para a descrição de quatro novas espécies de lagartos (Ameivula nativo, Glaucomastix littoralis, G. abaetensis e G. itabaianensis). Nossos estudos constituem uma importante contribuição para o conhecimento da ecologia de répteis e de anfíbios anuros nesses ecossistemas, bem como para a conservação dos ecossistemas de restinga. A lista de espécies apresentada neste estudo, com base em nossos registros de herpetofauna das planícies costeiras arenosas, fornece para muitas localidades ao longo da costa brasileira o conhecimento necessário sobre a ocorrência de espécies, incluindo a presença de espécies endêmicas e/ ou ameaçadas de extinção, que podem ser úteis para muitas ações de conservação.

Abstract The number of individuals with empty stomachs in a population (i.e. the proportion of individuals "running on empty") can be used as a simple index of instantaneous energy balance of some organisms such as lizards and fishes. In this study, we aimed to analyze the proportion of empty stomachs in 16 populations of five cnemidophorine species (Glaucomastix abaetensis, Ameivula ocellifera, Glaucomastix littoralis, Contomastix lacertoides and Ameivula nativo) along approximately 5,000 km the Brazilian coast. A total of 550 individuals had their stomach contents removed and identified in the laboratory. Our results showed that the proportion of individuals "running on empty" varied from 0 to 11.1% among the different populations and species. These proportions are suggestive that the five studied species would be in an overall positive energy balance at the time of the study.
Resumo O número de indivíduos com estômagos vazios em uma população (i.e. a proporção de indivíduos "correndo no vazio") pode ser usado como um índice simples do balanço energético instantâneo de organismos como lagartos e peixes. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a proporção de estômagos vazios em 16 populações pertencentes a cinco espécies de cnemidophorines (Glaucomastix abaetensis, Ameivula ocellifera, Glaucomastix littoralis, Contomastix lacertoides e Ameivula nativo) ao longo de cerca de 5,000 km da costa leste do Brasil. Um total de 550 indivíduos tiveram seus conteúdos estomacais removidos e analisados em laboratório. Nossos resultados mostraram que a proporção de indivíduos "correndo no vazio" variou entre 0 a 11.1% entre as diferentes populações e espécies. Essas proporções sugerem que as cinco espécies estudadas estariam em geral em um balanço energético positivo, quando da realização deste estudo.

While it is now well established that large carbon chain species and radiative electron attachment (REA) are key ingredients triggering interstellar anion chemistry, the role played by smaller molecular anions, for which REA appears to be an unlikely formation pathway, is as yet elusive. Advancing this research undoubtedly requires the knowledge (and modeling) of their astronomical abundances which, for the case of C2N-, is largely hindered by a lack of accurate spectroscopic signatures. In this work, we provide such data for both ground î -CCN-(3Σ-) and low-lying c-CNC-(1A1) isomers and their singly-substituted isotopologues by means of state-of-the-art rovibrational quantum chemical techniques. Their quartic force fields are herein calibrated using a high-level composite energy scheme that accounts for extrapolations to both one-particle and (approximate) î-particle basis set limits, in addition to relativistic effects, with the final forms being subsequently subject to nuclear motion calculations. Besides standard spectroscopic attributes, the full set of computed properties includes fine and hyperfine interaction constants and can be readily introduced as guesses in conventional experimental data reduction analyses through effective Hamiltonians. On the basis of benchmark calculations performed anew for a minimal test set of prototypical triatomics and limited (low-resolution) experimental data for î -CCN-(3Σ-), the target accuracies are determined to be better than 0.1% of experiment for rotational constants and 0.3% for vibrational fundamentals. Apart from laboratory investigations, the results here presented are expected to also prompt future astronomical surveys on C2N-. To this end and using the theoretically-predicted spectroscopic constants, the rotational spectra of both î -CCN-(3Σ-) and c-CNC-(1A1) are derived and their likely detectability in the interstellar medium is further explored in connection with working frequency ranges of powerful astronomical facilities. Our best theoretical estimate places c-CNC-(1A1) at about 15.3 kcal mol-1 above the ground-state î -CCN-(3Σ-) species.

Obtaining conductance spectra for a concentration of disordered impurities distributed over a nanoscale device with sensing capabilities is a well-defined problem. However, to do this inversely, i.e., extracting information about the scatters from the conductance spectrum alone, is not an easy task. In the presence of impurities, even advanced techniques of inversion can become particularly challenging. This article extends the applicability of a methodology we proposed capable of extracting composition information about a nanoscale sensing device using the conductance spectrum. The inversion tool decodes the conductance spectrum to yield the concentration and nature of the disorders responsible for conductance fluctuations in the spectra. We present the method for simple one-dimensional systems like an electron gas with randomly distributed delta functions and a linear chain of atoms. We prove the generality and robustness of the method using materials with complex electronic structures like hexagonal boron nitride, graphene nanoribbons, and carbon nanotubes. We also go on to probe distribution of disorders on the sublattice structure of the materials using the proposed inversion tool.

We obtained peripheral blood lymphocyte samples from individuals occupationally exposed to X-rays in hospital radiology departments that use different radiology systems: analog film (AF), computerized radiology (CR), or digital radiology (DR). The micronucleus test (MNT) and comet assay were performed on the samples. Micronucleus cell counts (means vs. controls, i.e., individuals not occupationally exposed to ionizing radiation) were as follows: AF, 1.96 ± 0.21 vs 1.2 ± 0.25; CR, 1.89 ± 0.15 vs 1.31 ± 0.36; and DR, 1.75 ± 0.11 vs 1.59 ± 0.32. For the comet assay, damage scores were as follows; AF, 0.84 ± 0.22 vs 0.47 ± 0.04; CR, 0.64 ± 0.26 vs 0.43 ± 0.04; and DR, 0.56 ± 0.19 vs 0.49 ± 0035. These findings were consistent with cytogenetic damage due to radiation exposure.

Number of pubertal heifers at time of breeding season initiation is a primary determinant to pregnancy success during the breeding season. It was hypothesized that pre-breeding progesterone (P4) supplementation (induction) would increase the number of heifers pubertal at the time of imposing estrous synchronization treatment regimens and P/AI. Yearling, Bos indicus-influenced (n = 577) or Bos indicus (n = 174) heifers were or were not treated with P4 (CIDR and Non-CIDR, respectively) for 10 d starting on D-23 (D0 = TAI). Presence of a CL on D-33 or D-23 was considered to indicate heifers were pubertal. On D-13, there was a PGF analogue administered. On D-9, there was treatment with GnRH analogue, 6d-CIDR and PGF. There were inseminations based on estrus (D-2 to D0) or TAI on D0 for non-estrous animals. There were 5.2 % and 62.9 % purebred and crossbred heifers pubertal, respectively. Proportion of prepubertal crossbred than purebred heifers with CL on D-3 was greater as a result of imposing the pubertal induction regimen (P < 0.05 and P> 0.10, respectively). Regardless of puberty status, proportion of heifers in estrus prior to AI in the CIDR group was similar to the heifers of the Non-CIDR group for crossbreds and purebreds. Similarly, P/AI of CIDR group was similar to the Non-CIDR group for crossbreds and purebreds. In summary, imposing the pubertal induction regimen hastened attainment of puberty in yearling crossbred, but not purebred heifers. Puberty induction did not affect estrous response, neither fertility after imposing an estrous synchronization treatment regimen.

The effects of 17ß-estradiol (E2) or estradiol benzoate (EB) on PGF2α release were studied in bred-non-pregnant and pregnant Nelore beef heifers. The day of timed artificial insemination (TAI) was designated day 0 (D0), and a single treatment was given on D14. All heifers also received an intravaginal P4 device on D14, and were randomly assigned to three groups: Control (C, P4 device only, n = 12); E2 (1 mg E2 + 9 mg P4, n = 10); or EB (1 mg, n = 10). Blood samples were collected hourly for 8 hours after treatment (Hours 0-8) to measure plasma concentrations (pg/mL) of a PGF2α metabolite (PGFM). The P4 device was removed on D22 and pregnancy was diagnosed on D28. Pregnancy rate was not different among groups (C, n = 7/12; E2, n = 5/10; EB, n = 5/10). More (P < 0.05) heifers had a CV-identified prominent PGFM pulse (peak of > 100 pg/mL) in E2 group (6/10) than in EB (1/10) and C (0/12) groups. Hourly concentration of PGFM for Hours 0 to 8 showed significant effects of group and hour and an interaction of group by hour but did not show an interaction of group or hour with pregnancy status. In preliminary post-hoc analyses, PGFM concentrations during Hours 0 to 8 and pulse characteristics were analyzed within each pregnancy status. For the non-pregnant heifers, a group-by-hour interaction was detected tentatively indicating an increase (P < 0.005) in PGFM concentrations in E2 group from Hours 4 to 6 and in EB group at Hours 5 and 6. Maximum PGFM concentration during Hours 0 to 8 did not differ (P > 0.1) between E2 (124 ± 23) and EB (110 ± 30) groups, but was greater (P < 0.05) in each group than in C (32 ± 3). Furthermore, PGFM concentrations of pulses at the peak, amplitude, and area under pulse curve (pg/mL/h) were greater (P < 0.05) in E2 group than in C group whereas the EB group did not differ (P > 0.1) from the other groups. For pregnant heifers, no effects of group, hour, or their interaction were detected in PGFM concentrations during the hourly sessions, except that maximum PGFM concentration was greater (P < 0.05) in E2 than in EB and C groups. In addition, the number of prominent pulses was greater in E2 group than in Control or EB groups. In conclusion, PGFM increased earlier and in greater concentration combined for bred-non-pregnant and pregnant heifers treated 14 days after TAI with 1 mg E2 plus 9 mg P4 than with 1 mg EB. Tentatively, a positive effect for each of E2 and EB on PGFM concentrations was attenuated in pregnant heifers.
