RESUMEN

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a debilitating autoimmune disease characterized by chronic joint inflammation and cartilage damage. Current therapeutic strategies often result in side effects, necessitating the development of targeted and safer treatment options. This study introduces a novel nanotherapeutic system, 2-APB@DGP-MM, which utilizes macrophage membrane (MM)-encapsulated nanoparticles (NPs) for the targeted delivery of 2-Aminoethyl diphenylborinate (2-APB) to inflamed joints more effectively. The NPs are designed with a matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-cleavable peptide, allowing for MMP-responsive drug release within RA microenvironment. Comprehensive in vitro and in vivo assays confirmed the successful synthesis and loading of 2-APB into the DSPE-GPLGVRGC-PEG (DGP) NPs, as well as their ability to repolarize macrophages from a pro-inflammatory M1 to an anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype. The NPs demonstrated high biocompatibility, low cytotoxicity, and enhanced cellular uptake. In a collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) mouse model, intra-articular injection of 2-APB@DGP-MM significantly reduced synovial inflammation and cartilage destruction. Histological analysis corroborated these findings, demonstrating marked improvements in joint structure and delayed disease progression. Above all, the 2-APB@DGP-MM nanotherapeutic system offers a promising and safe approach for RA treatment by modulating macrophage polarization and delivering effective agents to inflamed joints.

OBJECTIVE: Obesity continues to be a major problem, despite known treatment strategies such as lifestyle modifications, pharmaceuticals, and surgical options, necessitating the development of novel weight loss approaches. The naturally occurring fatty acid, 10,12 conjugated linoleic acid (10,12 CLA), promotes weight loss by increasing fat oxidation and browning of white adipose tissue, leading to increased energy expenditure in obese mice. Coincident with weight loss, 10,12 CLA also alters the murine gut microbiota by enriching for microbes that produce short chain fatty acids (SCFAs), with concurrent elevations in fecal butyrate and plasma acetate. METHODS: To determine if the observed microbiota changes are required for 10,12 CLA-mediated weight loss, adult male mice with diet-induced obesity were given broad-spectrum antibiotics (ABX) to perturb the microbiota prior to and during 10,12 CLA-mediated weight loss. Conversely, to determine whether gut microbes were sufficient to induce weight loss, conventionally-raised and germ-free mice were transplanted with cecal contents from mice that had undergone weight loss by 10,12 CLA supplementation. RESULTS: While body weight was minimally modulated by ABX-mediated perturbation of gut bacterial populations, adult male mice given ABX were more resistant to the increased energy expenditure and fat loss that are induced by 10,12 CLA supplementation. Transplanting cecal contents from donor mice losing weight due to oral 10,12 CLA consumption into conventional or germ-free mice led to improved glucose metabolism with increased butyrate production. CONCLUSIONS: These data suggest a critical role for the microbiota in diet-modulated changes in energy balance and glucose metabolism, and distinguish the metabolic effects of orally delivered 10,12 CLA from cecal transplantation of the resulting microbiota.

Plants have complex detoxification and metabolic systems that enable them to deal with environmental pollutants. We report accumulation of the pesticide isoproturon (IPU) in a BR signaling pathway for mutant bzr4-3/5 rice to be significantly higher than in wild-type (WT) rice controls and for exogenous 24-epibrassinolide to reverse toxic symptoms in WT rice but not in mutants. A genome-wide RNA sequencing study of WT/bzr4 rice is performed to identify transcriptomic changes and metabolic mechanisms under IPU exposure. Three differentially expressed genes in yeast cells increase the degradation rate of IPU in a growth medium by factors of 1.61, 1.51, and 1.29 after 72 h. Using UPLC/Q-TOF-MS/MS, five phase I metabolites and five phase II conjugates are characterized in rice grains, with concentrations generally decreasing in bzr4 rice grains. OsBZR4, a regulator of IPU degradation in rice, may eliminate IPU from edible parts of food crops by regulating downstream metabolic genes.

RESUMEN

This is the first report of NUP98::LEDGF positive malignant hematological tumor expressing T cell and myeloid lineage antigens. Patients carrying this fusion gene have a high relapse rate and a poor prognosis, allo-HSCT may be an option to cure this disease. This patient underwent allo-HSCT, a relapse occurred three months post-transplantation. Subsequent screening at our hospital confirmed the presence of the NUP98::LEDGF fusion gene, salvage therapy was administered, followed by a successful second allo-HSCT. Furthermore, we included eight previously reported cases from the literature for analysis and discuss.

OBJECTIVE: The influence of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) in obese (OB) and non-obese (NOB) prostate cancer patients remains a topic of debate. The objective of this study was to juxtapose the perioperative, functional, and oncologic outcomes of RARP in OB and NOB cohorts. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We systematically searched the databases such as PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and the Cochrane Library database to identify relevant studies published in English up to September 2023. Review Manager was used to compare various parameters. The study was registered with PROSPERO (CRD42023473136). Sixteen comparative trials were included for 8434 obese patients compared with 55,266 non-obese patients. RESULTS: The OB group had a longer operative time (WMD 17.8 min, 95% CI 9.7,25.8; p < 0.0001), a longer length of hospital stay (WMD 0.18 day, 95% CI 0.12,0.24; p < 0.00001, a higher estimated blood loss (WMD 50.6 ml, 95% CI 11.7,89.6; p = 0.01), and higher pelvic lymphadenectomy rate (RR 1.08, 95% CI 1.04,1.12; p < 0.0001)and lower nerve sparing rate (RR 0.95, 95% CI 0.91,0.99; p < 0.01), but there was no difference between unilateral (RR 1.0, 95% CI 0.8,1.3; p = 0.8)and bilateral (RR 0.9, 95% CI 0.9,1.0; p = 0.06)nerve sparing rate. Then, complication rates (RR 1.6, 95% CI 1.5,1.7; p < 0.00001) were higher in the OB group, and both major (RR 1.4, 95% CI 1.1,1.8; p = 0.01)and minor (RR 1.4, 95% CI 1.1,1.7; p < 0.01)complication rates were higher in the OB group. Moreover, obese patients showed significantly higher probabilities of incontinence (RR 1.17, 95% CI 1.03,1.33; p = 0.01) and impotency (RR 1.08, 95% CI 1.01,1.15; p = 0.02) at 1 year. Last, the positive surgical margin (RR 1.2, 95% CI 1.1,1.3; p < 0.01) was higher in the OB group. CONCLUSION: In the obese group, perioperative outcomes, total complications, functional outcomes, and oncologic outcomes were all worse for RARP. Weight loss before RARP may be a feasible strategy to improve the prognosis of patients.

Marine toxins pose a significant safety risk, leading to human intoxications and causing substantial economic losses in seafood-producing regions. The development of rapid, cost-effective, efficient, and reliable approaches for the containment of these substances is therefore crucial in order to mitigate the adverse impact of marine toxins. This research conducted a comprehensive review on the toxicity and influencing factors of marine toxins production. Additionally, depuration technologies, including adsorption, advanced oxidation processes, biodegradation, heating treatment, temporary maintenance and purification, and drug inhibition, were systematically summarized. The study also provided a comparative analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of various depuration technologies and proposed strategies for future development.

BACKGROUND: The efficacy of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in treating liver fibrosis has been demonstrated in several clinical studies. However, their low survival and liver implantation rates remain problematic. In recent years, a large number of studies in animal models of liver fibrosis have shown that MSCs combined with drugs can improve the efficacy of MSCs in the treatment of liver fibrosis alone and inhibit its progression to end-stage liver disease. This has inspired new ways of thinking about treating liver fibrosis. AIM: To investigate the effectiveness and mechanisms of MSCs combined with drugs in treating liver fibrosis. METHODS: Data sources included four electronic databases and were constructed until January 2024. The subjects, interventions, comparators, outcomes, and study design principle were used to screen the literature, and the quality of the literature was evaluated to assess the risk of bias. Relevant randomised controlled trials were selected, and the final 13 studies were included in the final study. RESULTS: A total of 13 studies were included after screening. Pooled analysis showed that MSCs combined with drug therapy significantly improved liver function, promoted the repair of damaged liver tissues, reduced the level of liver fibrosis-related indexes, and effectively ameliorated hepatic fibrosis by modulating the hepatic inflammatory microenvironment, promoting the homing of MSCs, and regulating the relevant signaling pathways, and the treatment efficacy was superior to MSCs alone. However, the combined treatment statistics showed no ame-lioration in serum albumin levels (standardized mean difference = 0.77, 95% confidence interval: -0.13 to 1.68, P = 0.09). CONCLUSION: In conclusion, MSCs combined with drugs for treating liver fibrosis effectively make up for the shortcomings of MSCs in their therapeutic effects. However, due to the different drugs, the treatment mechanism and effect also differ. Therefore, more randomized controlled trials are needed to compare the therapeutic efficacy of different drugs in combination with MSCs, aiming to select the "best companion" of MSCs in treating hepatic fibrosis.

The commonest type of eukaryotic RNA modification, N6-methyladenosine (m6A), has drawn increased scrutiny in the context of pathological functioning as well as relevance in determination of RNA stability, splicing, transportation, localization, and translation efficiency. The m6A modification plays an important role in several types of arthritis, especially osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Recent studies have reported that m6A modification regulates arthritis pathology in cells, such as chondrocytes and synoviocytes via immune responses and inflammatory responses through functional proteins classified as writers, erasers, and readers. The aim of this review was to highlight recent advances relevant to m6A modification in the context of arthritis pathogenesis and detail underlying molecular mechanisms, regulatory functions, clinical applications, and future perspectives of m6A in arthritis with the aim of providing a foundation for future research directions.

Characterized by progressive and irreversible degeneration of the articular cartilage (AC), osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common chronic joint disease, and there is no cure for OA at present. Recent studies suggest that enhancing the recruitment of endogenous mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) to damaged cartilage is a promising therapeutic strategy for cartilage repair. Tetrahedral framework nucleic acid (tFNA) is a novel DNA nanomaterial and has shown great potential in the field of biomedical science. Transforming growth factor-beta 3 (TGF-ß3), a vital member of the highly conserved TGF-ß superfamily, is considered to induce chondrogenesis. A 66-base DNA aptamer named HM69 is reported to identify and recruit MSCs. In this study, aptamer HM69-modified tFNAs were successfully self-assembled and used to load TGF-ß3 when the disulfide bonds combined. We confirmed the successful synthesis of the final composition, HM69-tFNA@TGF-ß3 (HTT), by PAGE, dynamic light scattering, and atomic force microscopy. The results of in vitro experiments showed that HTT effectively induced MSC proliferation, migration, and chondrogenic differentiation. In addition, HTT-treated MSCs were shown to protect the OA chondrocytes. In DMM mice, the injection of HTT improved the therapeutic outcome of mouse pain symptoms and AC degeneration. In conclusion, this study innovatively used the disulfide bonds combined with TGF-ß3 and tFNA, and an additional sequence HM69 was loaded on tFNA for the better-targeted recruitment of MSCs. HTT demonstrated its role in promoting the chondrogenesis of MSCs and cartilage protection, indicating that it might be promising for OA therapy.

We describe a visible light-induced palladium-catalyzed radical germylative arylation of alkenes with easily accessible chlorogermanes. This protocol provides expedient access to germanium-substituted indolin-2-ones in good to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. The key step for this strategy lies in the reductive activation of germanium-chloride bonds with an excited palladium complex under visible light irradiation. The involvement of germanium radicals was evidenced by electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy experiments.

BACKGROUND: Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is a type of cancer that can develop at any point in adulthood, spanning the range of age-related changes that occur in the body. However, the specific molecular mechanisms underlying the connections between age and genetic mutations in RCC have not been extensively investigated. METHODS: Clinical and genetic data from patients diagnosed with RCC were collected from two prominent medical centers in China as well as the TCGA dataset. The patients were categorized into two groups based on their prognosticated age: young adults (YAs) and older adults (OAs). Univariate and multivariate analysis were employed to evaluate the relationships between age and genetic mutations. Furthermore, a mediation analysis was conducted to assess the association between age and overall survival, with genetic disparities serving as a mediator. RESULTS: Our analysis revealed significant differences in clinical presentation between YAs and OAs with RCC, including histopathological types, histopathological tumor stage, and sarcomatoid differentiation. YAs were found to have lower mutation burden and significantly mutated genes (SMGs) of RCC. However, we did not observe any significant differences between the two groups in terms of 10 canonical oncogenic signaling pathways-related genes mutation, telomerase-related genes (TRGs) mutation, copy number changes, and genetic mutations associated with clinically actionable targeted drugs. Importantly, we demonstrate superior survival outcomes in YAs, and we confirmed the mediating effect of genetic disparities on these survival outcome differences between YAs and OAs. CONCLUSION: Our findings reveal previously unrecognized associations between age and the molecular underpinnings of RCC. These associations may serve as valuable insights to guide precision diagnostics and treatments for RCC.

Compared with young liver donors, aged liver donors are more susceptible to ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) following transplantation, which may be related to excessive inflammatory response and macrophage dysfunction, but the specific mechanism is unclear. Macrophage scavenger receptor 1 (MSR1) is a member of the scavenger receptor family, and plays an important regulatory role in inflammation response and macrophage function regulation. But its role in IRI following aged-donor liver transplantation is still unclear. This study demonstrates that MSR1 expression is decreased in macrophages from aged donor livers, inhibiting their efferocytosis and pro-resolving polarisation. Decreased MSR1 is responsible for the more severe IRI suffered by aged donor livers. Overexpression of MSR1 using F4/80-labelled AAV9 improved intrahepatic macrophage efferocytosis and promoted pro-resolving polarisation, ultimately ameliorating IRI following aged-donor liver transplantation. In vitro co-culture experiments further showed that overexpression of MSR1 promoted an increase in calcium concentration, which further activated the PI3K-AKT-GSK3ß pathway, and induced the upregulation of ß-catenin. Overall, MSR1-dependent efferocytosis promoted the pro-resolving polarisation of macrophages through the PI3K-AKT-GSK3ß pathway-induced up-regulating of ß-catenin leading to improved IRI following aged-donor liver transplantation.

AIMS: To investigate the relationship between peripheral blood lymphocyte subsets and prognosis in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). METHODS: We enrolled 294 patients with AIS and collected peripheral blood samples for analysis of lymphocyte subsets. Prognosis was assessed at 3 months using the modified Rankin Scale (mRS). Association between lymphocyte count and poor outcomes (mRS score >2) was assessed using logistic regression. Individualized prediction models were developed to predict poor outcomes. RESULTS: Patients in the mRS score ≤2 group had higher T-cell percentage (odds ratio [OR] = 0.947; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.899-0.998; p = 0.040), CD3+ T-cell count (OR = 0.999; 95% CI: 0.998-1.000; p = 0.018), and CD4+ T-cell count (OR = 0.998; 95% CI: 0.997-1.000; p = 0.030) than those in the mRS score >2 group 1-3 days after stroke. The prediction model for poor prognosis based on the CD4+ T-cell count showed good discrimination (area under the curve of 0.844), calibration (p > 0.05), and clinical utility. CONCLUSION: Lower T cell percentage, CD3+, and CD4+ T-cell counts 1-3 days after stroke were independently associated with increased risk of poor prognosis. Individualized predictive model of poor prognosis based on CD4+ T-cell count have good accuracy and may predict disease prognosis.

PURPOSE: This study aims to evaluate the impact of adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) on survival outcomes in patients with lymph node-positive bladder cancer or locally advanced (pT3, pT4a) bladder cancer after surgery. We also seek to identify which patients with pN+ bladder cancer are most likely to benefit from AC after radical cystectomy (RC). METHODS: We searched databases including Embase, PubMed, Cochrane, and ClinicalTrials.gov to identify relevant literature published in English up to February 2024. We used Stata to compare various parameters. The study has been registered in PROSPERO. RESULTS: A total of 21 studies were analyzed, including 1 randomized controlled trial, 6 prospective studies, and 14 retrospective studies, encompassing 12,888 patients. The meta-analysis showed that for patients with lymph node-positive bladder cancer, the adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) group had higher overall survival (OS) (I2=58.2%, HR 0.69; 95% CI: 0.57-0.83; P=0.019) and recurrence-free survival (RFS) (I2=66.6%, HR 0.71; 95% CI: 0.57-0.89; P=0.006) compared to the radical cystectomy (RC) group. For patients with pT3 and pT4a bladder cancer, the AC group had higher overall survival (OS) (I2=57.3%, HR 0.77; 95% CI: 0.67-0.89; P=0.022) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) (I2=47.2%, HR 0.75; 95% CI: 0.64-0.88; P=0.0048) compared to the RC group. At the same time, according to the different chemotherapy regimens, we divided the cisplatin-based chemotherapy regimen and carboplatin based chemotherapy or other regimens into two subgroups for analysis, and found that the OS (I2=41.4%, HR 0.64; 95%CI: 0.51~0.80; P=0.000) was better than carboplatin and other chemotherapy regimens (I2=64.1%, HR 0.77; 95%CI: 069~0.86; P=0.000); Lymph node density (LND) was found to be an independent predictor of overall survival (HR=1.6; 95% CI: 1.31-1.95; P=0.0000). CONCLUSION: This study found that postoperative adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) improves overall survival (OS), cancer-specific survival (CSS), and recurrence-free survival (RFS) in patients with pT3, pT4a, It was also confirmed that cisplatin-based chemotherapy regimen was more beneficial for patients with bladder cancer; and lymph node-positive bladder cancer. Additionally, our analysis revealed that patients with lymph node-positive bladder cancer benefit more from postoperative AC. It was further demonstrated that cisplatin-based chemotherapy regimens are more beneficial than other regimens for patients with locally advanced bladder cancer.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVE: Alzheimer's disease (AD) has become a significant global concern, but effective drugs able to slow down AD progression is still lacked. Electroacupuncture (EA) has been demonstrated to ameliorate cognitive impairment in individuals with AD. However, the underlying mechanisms remains poorly understood. This study aimed at examining the neuroprotective properties of EA and its potential mechanism of action against AD. METHODS: APP/PS1 transgenic mice were employed to evaluate the protective effects of EA on Shenshu (BL 23) and Baihui (GV 20). Chemogenetic manipulation was used to activate or inhibit serotonergic neurons within the dorsal raphe nucleus (DRN). Learning and memory abilities were assessed by the novel object recognition and Morris water maze tests. Golgi staining, western blot, and immunostaining were utilized to determine EA-induced neuroprotection. RESULTS: EA at Shenshu (BL 23) and Baihui (GV 20) effectively ameliorated learning and memory impairments in APP/PS1 mice. EA attenuated dendritic spine loss, increased the expression levels of PSD95, synaptophysin, and brain-derived neurotrophic factor in hippocampus. Activation of serotonergic neurons within the DRN can ameliorate cognitive deficits in AD by activating glutamatergic neurons mediated by 5-HT1B. Chemogenetic inhibition of serotonergic neurons in the DRN reversed the effects of EA on synaptic plasticity and memory. CONCLUSION: EA can alleviate cognitive dysfunction in APP/PS1 mice by activating serotonergic neurons in the DRN. Further study is necessary to better understand how the serotonergic neurons-related neural circuits involves in EA-induced memory improvement in AD.

PURPOSE: While sedation is routinely used in pediatric PET examinations to preserve diagnostic quality, it may result in side effects and may affect the radiotracer's biodistribution. This study aims to investigate the feasibility of sedation-free pediatric PET imaging using ultra-fast total-body (TB) PET scanners and deep learning (DL)-based attenuation and scatter correction (ASC). METHODS: This retrospective study included TB PET (uExplorer) imaging of 35 sedated pediatric patients under four years old to determine the minimum effective scanning time. A DL-based ASC method was applied to enhance PET quantification. Both quantitative and qualitative assessments were conducted to evaluate the image quality of ultra-fast DL-ASC PET. Five non-sedated pediatric patients were subsequently used to validate the proposed approach. RESULTS: Comparisons between standard 300-second and ultra-fast 15-second imaging, CT-ASC and DL-ASC ultra-fast 15-second images, as well as DL-ASC ultra-fast 15-second images in non-sedated and sedated patients, showed no significant differences in qualitative scoring, lesion detectability, and quantitative Standard Uptake Value (SUV) (P = ns). CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that pediatric PET imaging can be effectively performed without sedation by combining ultra-fast imaging techniques with a DL-based ASC. This advancement in sedation-free ultra-fast PET imaging holds potential for broader clinical adoption.

BACKGROUND: The increasing prevalence of tuberculosis (TB) and diabetes on a global scale poses a significant health challenge, particularly due to their co-occurrence, which amplifies the severity, recurrence and mortality rates associated with both conditions. This highlights the need for further investigation into their inter-relationship. AIM: To explore the computed tomography (CT) imaging and clinical significance of bacterium-positive pulmonary TB (PTB) combined with diabetes. METHODS: There were 50 patients with bacterium-positive PTB and diabetes, and 50 with only bacterium-positive PTB. The latter were designated as the control group. The CT imaging of the two groups of patients was compared, including lesion range, shape, density and calcification. RESULTS: No significant differences were observed in age, gender, smoking and drinking history, high blood pressure, hyperlipidemia and family genetic factors between the groups. However, compared to the patients diagnosed solely with simple bacterium-positive PTB, those with concurrent diabetes showed a wider range of lesions and more complex and diverse morphology on CT images. Among them, intrapulmonary tuberculosis lesions were often accompanied by manifestations of pulmonary infection, such as cavity formation and bronchiectasis. At the same time, diabetes-related signs were often seen on CT images, such as pulmonary infection combined with diabetic pulmonary lesions. Logistic regression analysis identified age and medical history as significant factors influencing the degree of pulmonary infection and CT imaging outcomes in patients with both TB and diabetes. This suggests that older age and specific medical histories may increase the risk or severity of pulmonary damage in these patients. CONCLUSION: CT imaging reveals more complex lesions in PTB patients with diabetes, emphasizing the need for careful evaluation and comprehensive analysis to enhance diagnostic accuracy.

OBJECTIVES: To observe the differences in the effects of different dosages of grain-sized moxibustion on uterine artery blood flow in patients with cold and dampness primary dysmenorrhea (PD). METHODS: A total of 60 patients with PD were randomly divided into 3 groups with 20 cases in each group. Acupoints Sanyinjiao (SP6), Diji (SP8) and Xuehai (SP10) were selected in all the 3 groups, and different dosages of grain-sized moxibustion were used (3 moxa cones, 6 moxa cones, 9 moxa cones) respectively. Treatment started 7 days before menstruation for 3 times, lasting for a total of 3 menstrual cycles. The values of uterine artery blood flow parameters including pulsatility index (PI), resistance index (RI), and systolic/diastolic ratio (S/D) were recorded before and after treatment. The visual analog scale (VAS) score and cox menstrual symptom scale (CMSS) score (including severity [CMSS-S] and time of duration [CMSS-T]) were evaluated before treatment, at the end of each menstrual cycle, and one menstrual cycle after treatment. RESULTS: The values of uterine artery blood flow parameters (PI, RI, S/D) after treatment in the 9 moxa cones group were lower than those before treatment, as well as lower than those in the 3 and 6 moxa cones groups after treatment (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the 3 moxa cones group were lower than those before treatment in the first and second cycle (P<0.05). The VAS scores of the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups were lower than those before treatment at each observation point (P<0.05), and were lower than those of the 3 moxa cones group in the third cycle of treatment and follow-up period (P<0.05). And the VAS score of the 9 moxa cones group was lower than that of the 6 moxa cones group during the follow-up period (P<0.05). Compared with the scores before treatment, the CMSS-T scores at each observation point after treatment were lower in the 9 moxa cones group (P<0.05);the CMSS-T scores in the second and third cycle after treatment, and follow-up period were lower in the 6 moxa cones group (P<0.05), with the CMSS-S scores in the second and third cycle after treatment, and follow-up period lower in the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups (P<0.05). The CMSS-T and CMSS-S scores of the 6 and 9 moxa cones groups were lower than those of the 3 moxa cones group in the third cycle and follow-up period (P<0.05). The CMSS-T and CMSS-S scores of the 9 moxa cones group were lower than those of the 6 moxa cones group during the follow-up period (P<0.05). CONCLUSIONS: Grain-Sized moxibustion has dose-effect relationship in the treatment of PD. Compared with 3 and 6 moxa cones groups, 9 moxa cones group has advantages in improving uterine artery blood flow parameters and alleviating dysmenorrhea symptoms in PD patients.
