BACKGROUND: Hyperkalemia is a common complication of chronic kidney disease (CKD). This study aims to investigate the efficacy and safety of sodium zirconium cyclosilicate and calcium polystyrene sulfonate in reducing potassium in patients with acute and severe hyperkalemia in CKD who are not undergoing dialysis. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A retrospective real-world study was conducted among 73 patients with non-dialysis chronic kidney disease who were hospitalized in the First Affiliated Hospital of Chengdu Medical College from June 2020 to June 2022. 33 patients treated with sodium zirconium cyclosilicate were categorized as SZC group, and the other 40 patients treated with calcium polystyrene sulfonate were categorized as CPS group. Serum potassium, serum sodium, magnesium, calcium, and phosphorus levels were examined. Adverse reactions were recorded during medication. RESULTS: Significantly decreased serum potassium was observed in both groups, whereas the potassium reduction was higher in the SZC group than in the CPS group at 2, 4, 24, and 48 hours after medication while there was no statistically significant difference in the serum potassium level between the two groups at 72 hours. For those people whose initial potassium exceeded 6 mmol/L, the potassium reduction was more obvious in the SZC group than in the CPS group at 2 and 4 hours after medication. The control rate of hyperkalemia in the SZC group was significantly higher than in the CPS group at 4, 24, and 48 hours. No distinct change was observed in serum sodium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus before and 72 hours after medication. No severe adverse reactions occurred. CONCLUSION: Sodium zirconium cyclosilicate has a more obvious effect on reducing potassium particularly for those patients with moderate to severe hyperkalemia who need rapid potassium reduction.

This study established an ultra-performance liquid chromatography(UPLC) fingerprint of abandoned stems and leaves of Artemisia selengensis and quantitative analysis of multi-components by single marker(QAMS) for five phenolic acid components. Waters Acquity UPLC BEH C_(18) chromatography column(2.1 mm×100 mm, 1.7 µm) was used. The gradient elution was carried out with the mobile phase composed of 0.1% phosphoric acid water and acetonitrile at a flow rate of 0.3 mL·min~(-1) and a column temperature at 30 ℃. The detection wavelength was 330 nm, and the injection volume was 2 µL. Similarity evaluation and cluster analysis were conducted on the fingerprint data, and 15 common components in 13 batches of abandoned stems and leaves of A. selengensis were identified. The relative correction factors of ferulic acid, isochlorogenic acid A, isochlorogenic acid B, and isochlorogenic acid C were calculated using chlorogenic acid as the internal reference. The QAMS for determining five components in the abandoned stems and leaves of A. selengensis was established. At the same time, the content of these five components was determined using the external standard method(ESM), and the results showed that there were no significant differences in their content determined by the QAMS and the ESM. The results indicated that the content of phenolic acid components in the abandoned stems and leaves of A. selengensis from different varieties and different origins had obvious differences. In addition, the content of phenolic acid components in the abandoned stems and leaves of lignified A. selengensis was significantly higher than that of non-lignified A. selengensis. In summary, QAMS established in this study can be quickly, accurately, and economically used to determine the content of five phenolic acid components in abandoned stems and leaves of A. selengensis, laying a foundation for the resource development and utilization of abandoned stems and leaves of A. selengensis.

BACKGROUND: The Ozaki technique demonstrated promising results in adults, but few studies reported on pediatric patients with limited follow-up time. This study aimed to evaluate the mid-term results of Ozaki technique compared with Ross operation for complex aortic valve (AV) diseases in children. MATERIALS AND METHODS: One hundred and seventeen children underwent either Ozaki (n = 64) or Ross (n = 53) operation from January 2017 to December 2023. The primary endpoint was incidence of moderate or severe regurgitation/stenosis (AR/AS) post procedure. RESULTS: No significant difference was observed in age (6.5±3.4 vs. 7.9±4.3 years) and weight (25.9±15.5 vs. 31.0±25.9 kgs) at surgery. The Ozaki group had significantly more patients in heart failure (20.3% vs. 1.9%, P = 0.003) before surgery and more patients needed ECMO installation (6.3% vs. 0, P = 0.125) after surgery. The Ozaki group were in worse status with more patients occurred heart failure (20.3% vs. 1.9%, P = 0.003) before surgery and needed ECMO installation (6.3% vs. 0, P = 0.125) after surgery. During follow up (20.4±17.3 vs. 22.7±22.8 months, P = 0.526), five patients (7.8%) in Ozaki group but no patients in Ross group required reoperations. The incidence of moderate or severe AR (28.1% vs. 3.1%) and AS (31.3% vs. 5.7%) were significantly higher than Ross group. Multivariate analysis identified lower age [HR:1.282 (95%CI:1.075-1.529), P = 0.006] and ECMO installation [HR:0.126 (0.018-0.887), P = 0.037] to be risk factors for moderate or severe AR, and higher aortic transvalvular gradient before discharge was confirmed as the only risk factor for moderate or severe AS (≥36 mmHg) at follow up in Ozaki group. CONCLUSION: Ozaki technique may be used as a palliative procedure for complex AV diseases in children, but its' mid-term results were not durable as Ross surgery, especially younger patients.

The flexibility and safety of energy storage systems are crucial, and hydrogels as one of the most promising candidates for solid-state electrolytes. We present a conductive hydrogel based on sodium alginate that exhibits ultra-stretchable (4200 %) and high conductivity (16.3 S m-1). The mechanical properties of the conductive hydrogel are achieved by optimizing the topology of the sodium alginate and harnessing the synergistic effect of non-covalent interaction among different components. And a conductive structure within hydrogels was successfully established through the synergistic combination of ion and metal nanoparticles. The flexible supercapacitor (FSC) with conductive hydrogel as solid electrolytes demonstrated an area-specific capacitance of up to 274.28 mF cm-2 at a current density of 1 mA cm-2. And the energy density of the FSC is as high as 187 µWh cm-2 at a power density of 1.2 mW cm-2. The voltage range of the FSC is also extended to 1.4 V. The FSC also exhibited exceptional flexibility and stability, including insensitivity to bending angles and remarkable cycle durability (82.4 % after 10,000 cycles). The study presents a novel design for the development of solid-state electrolytes, with the aim of creating a new generation of FSC that exhibit superior safety and high energy density.

BACKGROUND: The striatum is thought to play a critical role in the pathophysiology and antipsychotic treatment of schizophrenia. Previous studies have revealed abnormal functional connectivity (FC) of the striatum in early-onset schizophrenia (EOS) patients. However, no prior studies have examined post-treatment changes of striatal FC in EOS patients. METHODS: We recruited 49 first-episode drug-naïve EOS patients to have resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging scans at baseline and after 8 weeks of treatment with antipsychotics, along with baseline scanning of 34 healthy controls (HCs) for comparison purposes. We examined the FC values between each seed in striatal subregion and the rest of the brain. The Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) was applied to measure psychiatric symptoms in patients. RESULTS: Compared with HCs at baseline, EOS patients exhibited weaker FC of striatal subregions with several brain regions of the salience network and default mode network. Meanwhile, FC between the dorsal caudal putamen (DCP) and left supplementary motor area, as well as between the DCP and right postcentral gyrus, was negatively correlated with PANSS negative scores. Furthermore, after 8 weeks of treatment, EOS patients showed decreased FC between subregions of the putamen and the triangular part of inferior frontal gyrus, middle frontal gyrus, supramarginal gyrus and inferior parietal lobule. CONCLUSIONS: Decreased striatal FC is evident, even in the early stages of schizophrenia, and enhance our understanding of the neurodevelopmental abnormalities in schizophrenia. The findings also demonstrate that reduced striatal FC occurs after antipsychotic therapy, indicating that antipsychotic effects need to be accounted for when considering striatal FC abnormalities in schizophrenia.

To replace traditional petrochemical-based thermal insulation materials, in this work, the chitosan (CHI)/alginate (ALG) (CA) aerogels with three-dimensional hierarchical pore network structure were constructed by compositing CHI and ALG using a synergistic strategy of hydrogen bonding dissolution and covalent crosslinking. The structure and properties were further regulated by crosslinking the CA aerogels with epichlorohydrin (ECH). The CA aerogels exhibited various forms of covalent crosslinking, hydrogen bonding and electrostatic interactions, with hydrogen bonding content reaching 79.12 %. The CA aerogels showed an excellent three-dimensional hierarchical pore network structure, with an average pore size minimum of 15.92 nm. The structure regulation of CA aerogels obtained excellent compressive properties, with an increase of stress and strain by 137.61 % and 45.05 %, which can support a heavy object 5000 times its weight. Additionally, CA aerogels demonstrate excellent thermal insulation properties and low thermal conductivity, comparable to commercially available insulation materials. More importantly, CA aerogels have good cyclic insulation stability and thermal properties, and they have a flame retardancy rating of V-0, which shows the stability of insulation properties and excellent safety. CA aerogels provide new ideas for the development of biomass thermal insulation materials and are expected to be candidates for thermal management applications.

Donor (D)-acceptor (A) copolymer-based organic mixed ionic-electronic conductors (OMIECs) exhibit intrinsic environmental stability for they have tailored energy levels. However, their figure-of-merit (µC*) is still falling behind the D-D polymers because of morphology deterioration during the electrochemical doping process. Herein, we developed two D-A copolymers with precisely regulated backbone curvature, namely PTBT-P and PTTBT-P. Compared to the curved PTBT-P and previously reported copolymers, PTTBT-P better keeps its backbone linear, leading to a long-range ordered doping morphology, which is revealed by the in operando X-ray technique. This optimized doping morphology enables a significantly improved operando charge mobility (µ) of 2.44 cm2 V-1 s-1 and a µC* value of 342 F cm-1 V-1 s-1, one of the highest values in D-A copolymer based on OECTs. Besides, we fabricated PTTBT-P-based electrochemical random-access memories and achieved ideal and robust conductance modulation. This study highlights the critical role of backbone curvature control in the optimization of doping morphology for efficient and robust organic electrochemical devices.

BACKGROUND: In patients with schizophrenia, there is abnormal regional functional synchrony. However, whether it also in patients with adolescent-onset schizophrenia (AOS) remains unclear. The goal of this study was to analyze the regional homogeneity (ReHo) of resting functional magnetic resonance imaging to explore the functional abnormalities of the brain in patients with AOS. METHODS: The study included 107 drug-naive first-episode AOS patients and 67 healthy, age, sex, and education-matched controls using resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging scans. The ReHo method was used to analyze the imaging dataset. RESULTS: Compared with the control group, the ReHo values of the right inferior frontal gyrus orbital part, right middle frontal gyrus (MFG.R), left inferior parietal, but supramarginal and angular gyri, and left precentral gyrus (PreCG.L) were significantly increased and the ReHo value of the left posterior cingulate cortex/anterior cuneiform lobe was significantly decreased in schizophrenia patients. ROC analysis showed that the ReHo values of the MFG.R and PreCG.L might be regarded as potential markers in helping to identify patients. Furthermore, the PANSS scores in the patient group and the ReHo values showed a positive correlation between MFG.R ReHo values and general scores. CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggested that AOS patients had ReHo abnormalities. The ReHo values of these abnormal regions may serve as potential imaging biomarkers for the identification of AOS patients.

Objective: To investigate the epidemic factors of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS) and compare the S and M gene sequences of hantavirus (HV) between rodents and the infected cases. Methods: Detailed epidemiological investigations were conducted on the cases' working and living areas. Captured rodents were classified by night trapping method, and their lungs and blood were collected for virus carriage detection after aseptic dissection. Viral S and M fragments of HV RNA were amplified and sequenced from positive samples of cases and mice, and their homology was analyzed. Results: After reconstruction, the geographic and living environment changed significantly, altering rodent behaviors. The industrial park, characterized by high population density, poor living conditions, and frequent contact of rodent (feces) and humans, had a high rodent density and HV virus infection ratio. Four workers infected with HV were positive for anti-HV immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM. Among the positive samples, HV RNA was detected in all two cases, and four Rattus norvegicus specimens were Seoul type HV S3 subtype. The virus had the closest relationship with Rod/2012/QHD/4/Gc (Hebei, China) and RuianRn180 (Zhejiang, China), with the 100% homology of M gene segment. The homology of viral S gene segment exhibited the closest relationship with the Jiangxi isolated JiangxiXinjianRn-09-2011, ranging from 99.6% to 99.8%. Conclusion: The HV sequencing showed a strong epidemiological relationship between the cases and host rodents. Improving living environmental health conditions, administering HFRS vaccine, and reducing rodent density and human-rodent contact can mitigate the risk of HFRS.

Magterpenes A-C (1-3), three unprecedented meroterpenoids featuring a unique 6/6/6/6/6 polycyclic skeleton, were isolated from the ethanol extract of Magnolia officinalis Rehd. et Wils. The compounds were obtained as racemic mixtures that were completely resolved through chiral columns. Their structures were elucidated by extensive analyses of one-dimensional (1D) and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance, high-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, chemical calculations of 1H/13C NMR, and electronic circular dichroism calculations. The compounds were constructed via two Diels-Alder reactions in the proposed biosynthetic pathway. All isolates were evaluated for their nephroprotective and hepatoprotective activities. The results demonstrated that (+)-1 and (-)-1 possessed promising nephroprotective activities in a dose-dependent manner, while (-)-2 and (+)-3 exhibited moderate hepatoprotective activities.

RESUMEN

Heat shuttling phenomenon is characterized by the presence of a non-zero heat flow between two bodies without net thermal bias on average. It was initially predicted in the context of nonlinear heat conduction within atomic lattices coupled to two time-oscillating thermostats. Recent theoretical works revealed an analog of this effect for heat exchanges mediated by thermal photons between two solids having a temperature dependent emissivity. In this paper, we present the experimental proof of this effect using systems made with composite materials based on phase change materials. By periodically modulating the temperature of one of two solids we report that the system akin to heat pumping with a controllable heat flow direction. Additionally, we demonstrate the effectiveness of a simultaneous modulation of two temperatures to control both the strength and direction of heat shuttling by exploiting the phase delay between these temperatures. These results show that this effect is promising for an active thermal management of solid-state technology, to cool down solids, to insulate them from their background or to amplify heat exchanges.

Ensuring the safety of insecticides to natural enemy insects of pests is crucial for integrating chemical and biological control strategies. Broflanilide, a novel meta-diamide insecticide, exhibits high insecticidal activity against Myzus persicae (Sulzer) (Hemiptera: Aphididae). To integrate chemical and biological control against M. persicae, we assessed the toxicity of broflanilide to Aphidius gifuensis, and evaluated its safety and sublethal effects. The LC10, LC25, and LC50 values of broflanilide against A. gifuensis were 0.733 mg/L, 1.613 mg/L, and 3.852 mg/L, respectively. The selectivity toxicity ratio of broflanilide to A. gifuensis was 1.516, indicating higher toxicity to M. persicae compared to A. gifuensis. The risk quotient of broflanilide to A. gifuensis adults was 6.18. The percent reduction in the emergence of the parasitoid pupae was -1.15, with a risk grade of 1. The sublethal concentration of broflanilide had no significant influence on the intrinsic rate of increase (r), finite rate of increase (λ), net reproductive rate (R0), and mean fecundity (F) of A. gifuensis in the F1 generation. The mean generation time (T) increased by 0.51 days and 0.39 days in the LC10 and LC25 treatments, respectively; the difference between LC10 treatment and the control was significant, while the difference between LC25 treatment and the control was not significant. The results showed that the sublethal concentration of broflanilide did not have a significant inhibitory effect on the population growth of A. gifuensis.

3-(2-Aminoethylamino)propyltriethoxysilane and carboxyethylsilanetriol sodium salt were grafted on silica-coated Fe3O4 nanoparticles via sol-gel process to prepare novel amine- and carboxyl-bifunctionalized magnetic nanocomposites (SMNPs-(NH2 + COOH)). After well characterized, this doubly functionalized material was used as magnetic solid-phase extraction (MSPE) adsorbent to separate and enrich inorganic chromium species followed by inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry detection. The optimization of MSPE operation parameters including pH was conducted. It is reasonably elucidated that the adsorption mechanisms of zwitterionic SMNPs-(NH2 + COOH) towards chromium species are electrostatic and/or coordination interactions. Cr(VI) and Cr(III) can be adsorbed around pH 3.0 and around 10.0 respectively with strong anti-interference ability not only from other co-existing ions but also from the two labile species each other, and eluted by dilute nitric acid solution. With a 15-fold enrichment factor, the limits of detection of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) were 0.008 and 0.009 µg L-1, respectively, profiting from the maximum adsorption capacities of 7.52 and 6.11 mg g-1. The just one magnetic extraction matrix based speciation scheme possesses excellent convenience and friendliness to Cr(VI) and Cr(III) without any oxidation or reduction prior to capture of these two species. This protocol has been successfully applied to the speciation analysis of inorganic chromium in real-world environmental water samples.

A continuous chemical-free green approach was investigated for the comprehensive reutilization of all components in herbal extraction residues (HERs), taking Glycyrrhiza uralensis residue (GUR) as an example. The GUR structural changes induced by mechanical extrusion which improve the specific surface area and enzyme accessibility of GUR. With 3 % pretreated GUR loading of high-tolerance Penicillium oxalicum G2. The reducing sugar yield of 11.45 g/L was achieved, along with an 81.06 % in situ enzymatic hydrolysis. Finally, 8.23 g/L bioethanol (0.40 g/g total sugar) was produced from GUR hydrolysates after 24 h fermentation of Pichia stipitis G32. The amount of functional medicinal ingredients extracted from GUR after hydrolysis (39.63 mg/g) was 37.69 % greater than that of un-pretreated GUR. In total, 1.49 g flavonoids, 294.36 U cellulase, and 14.13 g ethanol could be produced from 100 g GUR using this process, illustrating that this green and efficient process has the potential for industrial production.

The aim of the study was to analyze the change trend of serum ALP over time and identify factors influencing its levels in peritoneal dialysis patients. Then to investigate the impact of serum ALP changes on calcium and phosphorus metabolism in single peritoneal dialysis center utilizing repeated measurement data. A retrospective cohort study was conducted with a total follow-up duration of 30 months. Serum ALP and other biomarkers, including calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P), 25(OH)D, intact parathyroid hormone (iPTH), albumin(ALB), and hemoglobin(Hb) were measured every 3 months. The generalized estimation equation (GEE) was utilized to analyze the change trend of serum ALP over time, and to assess whether there were differences in changes over time between different genders and different primary disease groups. Additionally, factors influencing serum ALP levels were analyzed, and the impact of serum ALP changes on calcium and phosphorus metabolism was also explored. A total of 34 patients were included in the study. Serum ALP and other indicators were measured repeatedly, with a maximum of 8 times and a minimum of 4 times. The median of serum ALP values at all measurement times for all selected patients was 89 U/L. The GEE analysis revealed that serum ALP gradually increased with time, and patients in diabetes group increased faster than those in non-diabetes group. A positive correlation was observed between serum ALP and dialysis duration, also between serum ALP and hemoglobin. However, variations in serum ALP did not significantly affect serum corrected calcium, phosphorus, or iPTH concentrations. The serum ALP levels of peritoneal dialysis patients increase gradually over time, and the concentrations are influenced by dialysis duration. The changes in serum ALP values do not have a significant impact on serum calcium, phosphorus, and iPTH levels.

SOCS (Suppressor of Cytokine Signalling) proteins are intracellular negative regulators that primarily modulate and inhibit cytokine-mediated signal transduction, playing a crucial role in immune homeostasis and related inflammatory diseases. SOCS act as inhibitors by regulating the Janus kinase-signal transducer and activator of transcription (JAK-STAT) signaling pathway, thereby intervening in the pathogenesis of inflammation and autoimmune diseases. Recent studies have also demonstrated their involvement in central immunity and neuroinflammation, showing a dual functionality. However, the specific mechanisms of SOCS in the central nervous system remain unclear. This review thoroughly elucidates the specific mechanisms linking the SOCS-JAK-STAT pathway with the inflammatory manifestations of neurodegenerative diseases. Based on this, it proposes the theory that SOCS proteins can regulate the JAK-STAT pathway and inhibit the occurrence of neuroinflammation. Additionally, this review explores in detail the current therapeutic landscape and potential of targeting SOCS in the brain via the JAK-STAT pathway for neuroinflammation, offering insights into potential targets for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.

RESUMEN

Neuropsychiatric disorders shorten human life spans through multiple ways and become major threats to human health. Exercise can regulate the estrogen signaling, which may be involved in depression, Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD), and other neuropsychiatric disorders as well in their sex differences. In nervous system, estrogen is an important regulator of cell development, synaptic development, and brain connectivity. Therefore, this review aimed to investigate the potential of estrogen system in the exercise intervention of neuropsychiatric disorders to better understand the exercise in neuropsychiatric disorders and its sex specific. Exercise can exert a protective effect in neuropsychiatric disorders through regulating the expression of estrogen and estrogen receptors, which are involved in neuroprotection, neurodevelopment, and neuronal glucose homeostasis. These processes are mediated by the downstream factors of estrogen signaling, including N-myc downstream regulatory gene 2 (Ndrg2), serotonin (5-HT), delta like canonical Notch ligand 1 (DLL1), NOD-like receptor thermal protein domain associated protein 3 (NLRP3), etc. In addition, exercise can act on the estrogen response element (ERE) fragment in the genes of estrogenic downstream factors like ß-amyloid precursor protein cleavase 1 (BACE1). However, there are few studies on the relationship between exercise, the estrogen signaling pathway, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Hence, we review how the estrogen signaling mediates the mechanism of exercise intervention in neuropsychiatric disorders. We aim to provide a theoretical perspective for neuropsychiatric disorders affecting female health and provide theoretical support for the design of exercise prescriptions.

Endothelial cells play an important role in the metabolism of adipose tissue (AT). This study aimed to analyze the changes that adipose tissue in AT endothelial cells undergo during the development of obesity, using single-nucleus RNA sequence (snRNA-seq). Mouse paraepididymal AT cells were subjected to snRNA-seq with the 10X Genomics platform. The cell types were then clustered using t-distributed stochastic neighbor embedding and unbiased computational informatics analyses. Protein-protein interactions network was established using the STRING database and visualized using Cytoscape. The dataset was subjected to differential gene enrichment analysis. In total, 21,333 cells acquired from 24 mouse paraepididymal AT samples were analyzed using snRNA-seq. This study identified 18 distinct clusters and annotated macrophages, fibroblasts, epithelial cells, T cells, endothelial cells, stem cells, neutrophil cells, and neutrophil cell types based on representative markers. Cluster 12 was defined as endothelial cells. The proportion of endothelial cells decreased with the development of obesity. Inflammatory factors, such as Vegfa and Prdm16 were upregulated in the medium obesity group but downregulated in the obesity group. Genes, such as Prox1, Erg, Flt4, Kdr, Flt1, and Pecam1 promoted the proliferation of AT endothelial cells and maintained the internal environment of AT. This study established a reference model and general framework for studying the mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets of endothelial cell dysfunction-related diseases at the single-cell level.

OBJECTIVE: To develop a multi-instance learning (MIL) based artificial intelligence (AI)-assisted diagnosis models by using laryngoscopic images to differentiate benign and malignant vocal fold leukoplakia (VFL). METHODS: The AI system was developed, trained and validated on 5362 images of 551 patients from three hospitals. Automated regions of interest (ROI) segmentation algorithm was utilized to construct image-level features. MIL was used to fusion image level results to patient level features, then the extracted features were modeled by seven machine learning algorithms. Finally, we evaluated the image level and patient level results. Additionally, 50 videos of VFL were prospectively gathered to assess the system's real-time diagnostic capabilities. A human-machine comparison database was also constructed to compare the diagnostic performance of otolaryngologists with and without AI assistance. RESULTS: In internal and external validation sets, the maximum area under the curve (AUC) for image level segmentation models was 0.775 (95 % CI 0.740-0.811) and 0.720 (95 % CI 0.684-0.756), respectively. Utilizing a MIL-based fusion strategy, the AUC at the patient level increased to 0.869 (95 % CI 0.798-0.940) and 0.851 (95 % CI 0.756-0.945). For real-time video diagnosis, the maximum AUC at the patient level reached 0.850 (95 % CI, 0.743-0.957). With AI assistance, the AUC improved from 0.720 (95 % CI 0.682-0.755) to 0.808 (95 % CI 0.775-0.839) for senior otolaryngologists and from 0.647 (95 % CI 0.608-0.686) to 0.807 (95 % CI 0.773-0.837) for junior otolaryngologists. CONCLUSIONS: The MIL based AI-assisted diagnosis system can significantly improve the diagnostic performance of otolaryngologists for VFL and help to make proper clinical decisions.
