Multiple myeloma (MM) typically presents with characteristic symptoms such as bone pain, hypercalcaemia, renal dysfunction, and anaemia. However, atypical presentations of MM, though rare, have been reported. These atypical presentations pose a diagnostic challenge due to their varied clinical manifestations, leading to potential delays in diagnosis and treatment initiation. We present the case of a 75-year-old woman who presented to the emergency department with a spontaneous haematoma on the dorsal aspect of her left hand and wrist. Despite lacking classical symptoms of MM, such as bone pain or renal dysfunction, laboratory investigations revealed abnormal findings, including high serum protein levels, low albumin, and abnormal immunoglobulin levels. Serum protein electrophoresis and immunotyping confirmed a diagnosis of MM, specifically the immunoglobulin-G lambda type. Additionally, urine protein electrophoresis further supported the diagnosis. Imaging studies did not show radiological evidence of myeloma. The absence of classical symptoms in our patient underscores the importance of considering MM in the differential diagnosis of atypical cutaneous presentations. Laboratory investigations, particularly serum protein electrophoresis and immunotyping, played a crucial role in establishing the diagnosis. The patient was treated with pulsed dexamethasone and plasmapheresis, followed by initiation of VCD chemotherapy protocol. Atypical presentations of MM present diagnostic challenges for clinicians. Our case highlights the importance of maintaining a high index of suspicion for MM, even in the absence of classical symptoms. Early recognition and diagnosis are essential for prompt management and improved patient outcomes. Clinicians should remain vigilant for atypical presentations of MM to ensure timely intervention and treatment initiation.

BACKGROUND: An increasing number of studies demonstrate that abnormal miRNA expression contributes to the advancement of many tumors. Nonetheless, the potential role of miR-125b in multiple myeloma (MM) remains unknown. OBJECTIVES: To explore the potential effects and mechanism of miR-125b in MM. METHODS: Real-time quantitative PCR was used to measure the expression levels of miR-125b and MKNK2 in a variety of MM samples. Colony formation and cell counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) assays were used to assess cell proliferation, the transwell assay was used to evaluate the cell invasion capability, and dual luciferase reporter gene assay and Western blot were used to examine the interaction between miR-125b and MKNK2. RESULTS: The levels of miR-125b were higher in MM tissue samples, alongside increased expression of MKNK2. There was a negative correlation between MKNK2 and miR-125b expression in MM tissues. MKNK2 was identified as a direct target gene of miR-125b in MM cells. Overexpression of miR-125b suppressed MM cell growth, colony formation, and invasion. In addition, MKNK2 was found to mediate the effects of miR-125b on cell proliferation, colony formation, and invasion in MM. CONCLUSIONS: miR-125b acts as a suppressive factor in multiple myeloma and can affect the malignant behavior of MM by regulating the expression of MKNK2.

The quantitation of plasma cells in bone marrow (BM) is crucial for diagnosing and classifying plasma cell neoplasms. Various methods, including Romanowsky-stained BM aspirates (BMA), immunohistochemistry, flow cytometry, and radiological imaging, have been explored. However, challenges such as patchy infiltration and sample haemodilution can impact the reliability of BM plasma cell percentage estimates. Bone marrow plasma cell percentage varies across methods, with immunohistochemically stained biopsies consistently yielding higher values than Romanowsky-stained BMA or flow cytometry alone. CD138 or MUM1 immunohistochemistry and artificial intelligence image analysis on whole-slide images are emerging as promising tools for accurate plasma cell identification and quantification. Radiological imaging, particularly with advanced technologies like dual-energy computed tomography and radiomics, shows potential for multiple myeloma diagnosis, although standardisation remains a challenge. Molecular techniques, such as allele-specific oligonucleotide quantitative polymerase chain reaction and next-generation sequencing, offer insights into clonality and measurable residual disease. While no consensus exists on a gold standard method for BM plasma cell quantitation, CD138-stained biopsies are favoured for accurate estimation and play a pivotal role in diagnosing and assessing multiple myeloma treatment responses. Combining multiple methods, such as BMA, BM biopsy, and flow cytometry, enhances accuracy of diagnosis and classification of plasma cell neoplasms. The quest for a gold standard requires ongoing research and collaboration to refine existing methods. Furthermore, the rise of digital pathology is anticipated to reshape laboratory medicine and the role of pathologists in the digital era. What this study adds: This article adds a comprehensive review and comparison of different methods for plasma cell estimation in the bone marrow, highlighting their strengths and limitations. The goal is to contribute valuable insights that can guide the selection of optimal techniques for accurate plasma cell estimation.

Plasma cell neoplasia has a wide presentation of disease (localised or systemic) according to the International Myeloma Working Group. Radiological imaging identifies plasmacytomas as solitary lesions or part of multiple myeloma. We present a rare case of a 21-year-old female who presented with a skull-base tumour. Contribution: A head and neck plasmacytoma with further lytic bone lesions was confirmed on imaging. This article presents and discusses the clinical, CT, MRI, positron emission tomography (PET)-CT, histology and laboratory findings.

In this study, we employed the dithiothreitol-based protein equalisation technique and analytical proteomics to better understand myeloma diseases by comparing the proteomes of pellets and supernatants formed upon application of DTT on serum samples. The number of unique proteins found in pellets was 252 for healthy individuals and 223 for multiple myeloma patients. The comparison of these proteomes showed 97 dysregulated proteins. The unique proteins found for supernatants were 264 for healthy individuals and 235 for multiple myeloma patients. The comparison of these proteomes showed 87 dysregulated proteins. The analytical proteomic comparison of both groups of dysregulated proteins is translated into parallel dysregulated pathways, including chaperone-mediated autophagy and protein folding, addressing potential therapeutic interventions. Future research endeavours in personalised medicine should prioritize refining analytical proteomic methodologies using serum dithiothreitol-based protein equalisation to explore innovative therapeutic strategies. We highlight the advanced insights gained from this analytical strategy in studying multiple myeloma, emphasising its complex nature and the critical role of personalised, targeted analytical techniques in enhancing therapeutic efficacy in personalised medicine.

BACKGROUND: Pomalidomide-based regimens are the cornerstone of treatment for relapsed/refractory MM (RRMM). Despite the high incidence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in RRMM, individuals with advanced CKD have been excluded from phase II/III RCTs, creating a gap in our understanding of the effects of pomalidomide use in patients with RRMM complicated with advanced CKD. We undertook a cohort to study to understand the efficacy safety of pomalidomide-based regimens among patients with CKD using real-world data. METHODS: Population-based, cohort study of patients ≥ 18 years with RRMM treated with pomalidomide in Ontario, Canada. Primary outcome was all-cause mortality. Secondary outcomes were time-to-major adverse kidney events (MAKE), time-to-next treatment, kidney response and safety. RESULTS: Total 748 patients with RRMM utilizing pomalidomide were included; 440 had preserved kidney function, 210 had moderate CKD (eGFR 30-59 mL/min/1.73m2), and 98 had advanced CKD (eGFR < 30 mL/min/1.73m2). Mean age was 70.2 years, 43.3% were women. Patients with advanced CKD had a higher risk of all-cause mortality compared to the preserved kidney function group (aHR 1.37, 95% CI 1.06, 1.78). MAKE was higher in advanced CKD (aHR 1.70, 95% CI 1.03, 2.35). Kidney response was similar between moderate and severe CKD groups (aOR 1.04, 95%, CI 0.56-1.90). Safety outcomes were similar between groups. CONCLUSIONS: Patients with advanced CKD and RRMM on pomalidomide-based regimens exhibited reduced survival and a higher risk for MAKE. However, the probability of experiencing some degree of kidney recovery is 50% in both moderate and severe CKD, with comparable safety outcomes.

Small extracellular vesicles (EVs) play a pivotal role in intercellular communication across various physiological and pathological contexts. Despite their growing significance as disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets in biomedical research, the lack of reliable isolation techniques remains challenging. This study characterizes vesicles that were isolated from conditioned culture media (CCM) sourced from three myeloma cell lines (MM.1S, ANBL-6, and ALMC-1), and from the plasma of healthy donors and multiple myeloma patients. We compared the efficacy, reproducibility, and specificity of isolating small EVs using sucrose cushion ultracentrifugation (sUC) vs. ultrafiltration combined with size-exclusion chromatography (UF-SEC). Our results demonstrate that UF-SEC emerges as a more practical, efficient, and consistent method for EV isolation, outperforming sUC in the yield of EV recovery and exhibiting lower variability. Additionally, the comparison of EV characteristics among the three myeloma cell lines revealed distinct biomarker profiles. Finally, our results suggest that HBS associated with Tween 20 improves EV recovery and preservation over PBS. Standardization of small EV isolation methods is imperative, and our comparative evaluation represents a significant step toward achieving this goal.

This is the first study presenting the overall descriptive epidemiology of multiple myeloma (MM), including incidence, mortality rate, and prevalence, in South Korea between 2010 and 2018 based on nationwide medical insurance coverage and mortality statistics data. The incidence of MM between 2010 and 2018 was obtained from nationwide medical claims data, and mortality data were obtained from the Korea National Statistical Office. The age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and mortality rate (ASMR) and one- and five-year survival rates of patients with MM each year were estimated. There were 10,835 patients with MM aged ≥ 20 years in South Korea between 2010 and 2018. The ASIR was 2.42/100,000 in 2010 and increased to 2.71/100,000 in 2018, with an annual percent change (APC) of 1.86% (95% CI = 0.74-2.99%, P = 0.005). While this trend was significant in women, it was not statistically significant in men. The ASMR did not significantly change over time. Furthermore, the median survival time of patients with MM diagnosed between 2010 and 2018 was 3.36 years. Notably, the one-year survival rate of patients was increased from 65.3% in 2010 to 76.2% in 2017. Finally, the proportion of patients with MM who received novel therapeutic agents, such as proteasome inhibitors or immunomodulatory drugs, as first-line treatment increased from 37.7% in 2010 to 97.8% in 2018. The ASIR and prevalence of MM in South Korea increased between 2010 and 2018, especially in women and the survival rate of patients with MM has increased.

This commentary highlights a need for comprehensive measures of structural racism tailored to cancer health disparities, in particular Black-White disparities in multiple myeloma (MM). Recent political and social calls and advances in the ability to quantitate structural racism have led to rapidly growing research on the health consequences of structural racism. However, to date, most studies have used unidimensional measures of structural racism that do not capture cumulative influences or enable the identification of factors most responsible for driving disparities. Furthermore, measures may not reflect aspects of structural racism most relevant to underlying disease processes and risks. This study proposes a multifaceted approach to measuring structural racism relevant to MM that includes comprehensive, disease- and at-risk population-tailored social and environmental data and biomarkers of susceptibility and progression related to underlying biological changes associated with structural racism. Such novel measures of structural racism may improve the ability to assess the influence of structural racism on cancer health disparities, which may advance understanding of disease etiology and differences observed by racialized groups.

BACKGROUND: Treating multiple myeloma is complex, and providing supportive care through an interdisciplinary approach is essential. AIM: To report and synthesize pharmacists' clinical activities and impact on the care of patients with multiple myeloma. METHOD: This was a scoping review that followed the PRISMA-ScR reporting recommendations. A search was conducted in PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Scopus, and LILACS from the inception of the database until January 10th, 2024. Papers that reported pharmacists' clinical activities in the care of patients with multiple myeloma were included. Descriptive Elements of Pharmacist Intervention Characterization Tool (DEPICT) version 2 was used to characterize the pharmacists' clinical activities. The results are presented as a narrative and tabular synthesis. RESULTS: A total of 2885 records were identified, 10 of which met the inclusion criteria. Pharmacists' clinical activities related to 'direct patient care' (n = 8) and 'medication counseling, education, and training' (n = 7) were the most cited. Most were provided for patients (n = 8), by one-on-one contact (n = 9), and through face-to-face communication method (n = 8), with patient counseling being the main action taken by pharmacists (n = 7). Materials that supported pharmacists' actions were cited in five studies. Integrating pharmacists into interdisciplinary teams led to improved process, clinical, humanistic, and economic outcomes. CONCLUSION: This scoping review emphasizes pharmacists' clinical activities in improving the care of patients with multiple myeloma. There is a need to develop studies with patient-reported outcomes and comprehensive reporting of pharmacists' clinical activities to ensure reproducibility and effective implementation in clinical practice.

WHAT IS THIS SUMMARY ABOUT?: This is a summary of a phase 3 clinical trial called CARTITUDE-4. This trial compared the anti-cancer therapy ciltacabtagene autoleucel (or cilta-cel) with standard therapies in people who have multiple myeloma, a cancer that affects specific kinds of blood cells called plasma cells. The people in the study had been treated with 1 to 3 previous treatments for multiple myeloma, including a common anti-myeloma treatment called lenalidomide, but their multiple myeloma did not get better. HOW WAS THE STUDY IN THIS SUMMARY CONDUCTED?: About half of the 419 participants in this study received cilta-cel, while the other half received standard therapies, or therapies that are commonly used to treat multiple myeloma. Participants who received cilta-cel had a type of immune cell called T cells collected from their blood and genetically modified to recognize a specific protein found on myeloma cells. These modified T cells, which comprise cilta-cel, were then infused back into the bloodstream. WHAT WERE THE RESULTS OF THE STUDY?: After approximately 1 year in the study, more participants were alive without their cancer getting worse in the cilta-cel group (76%) than in the standard therapies group (49%). The most common side effects in both groups were infections and low blood cell counts. Cytokine release syndrome (a potentially serious side effect caused by overactivation of the immune system) was common but mostly mild. Neurotoxicities (including immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome, which can cause symptoms such as headaches, changes in consciousness, and difficulty with memory, attention, speaking, or understanding others) were less common and were reported in 20.5% of participants treated with cilta-cel. WHAT WERE THE MAIN CONCLUSIONS REPORTED BY THE RESEARCHERS?: In CARTITUDE-4, more participants treated with cilta-cel showed improvements and were alive with control of their disease 12 months after receiving cilta-cel compared with participants who received standard therapies.Clinical Trial Registration: NCT04181827 (CARTITUDE-4) (ClinicalTrials.gov).

Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-SCT) is a curative treatment option for multiple myeloma (MM), but few patients are eligible due to its high risk of treatment-related toxicity and relapse. Here, we report the feasibility and efficacy of allo-SCT after myeloablative conditioning with 8 Gy of total body irradiation (TBI) for reducing relapse of MM. We retrospectively analyzed data from 30 consecutive patients who received allo-SCT for MM after 8 Gy of TBI at Japanese Red Cross Medical Center between 2012 and 2021. Median age at allo-SCT was 47 (range 31-61) years. Stem-cell sources were peripheral blood from an HLA-matched related donor (MRD, n=5), bone marrow from an HLA-matched unrelated donor (MUD, n=5), bone marrow from an HLA-mismatched unrelated donor (MMUD, n=13), and cord blood (n=7). All patients received conditioning with 8 Gy of TBI combined with Flu/Mel (n=28) or others (n=2). Five-year PFS and 5-year OS were 36.7% and 46.2%, respectively. Sixteen patients died during the observation period (12 of primary disease and 4 of treatment-related toxicity). Patients with VGPR or better before allo-SCT had significantly better PFS (p=0.009) and OS (p=0.01) than others. Patients who received MMUD cells tended to have better PFS than those with other cell sources. Our report showed that allo-SCT for MM after 8 Gy of TBI is feasible, and the better PFS of MMUD suggests graft-versus-myeloma effects.

Adequate stem cell harvesting is required for autologous hematopoietic transplantation. In deficient mobilizer patients, the collection of stem cells can be challenging because of the impossibility of achieving satisfactory CD34 cell counts with GCSF + - chemotherapy. Plerixafor is a potent and expensive drug that promotes the release of stem cells from the medullary niche to the peripheral blood and allows satisfactory harvests. We performed a retrospective analysis of 370 patients with myeloma and lymphoma harvested at our institution. 99 % of patients achieved satisfactory apheresis using Plerixafor in 45 %. Satisfactory harvests were obtained in patients mobilized with GCSF or plerixafor. In patients who used plerixafor, it was necessary to perform fewer apheresis procedures (P = 0.05). In multivariate analysis, the only factor that predicted the need for plerixafor was the presence of less than 30,000 CD34 / ul on the day of apheresis (OR 0.3. p < 0.001). Since we adopted the plerixafor protocol guided by CD34 counts, the number of patients with harvest failure has decreased. In conclusion, the rational and standardized use of plerixafor favors satisfactory harvest in patients who require autologous transplantation in South-American patients.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a neoplastic condition resulting from the uncontrolled expansion of B-cell-derived plasma cells. The importance of angiogenesis in MM development has also been demonstrated. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have vital functions in interactions between neighboring cells, such as angiogenesis. The objective of this in vitro study was to examine the transfection and angiogenesis effects of MM-EVs on endothelial cells (ECs) upon treatment with Tetrahydroisoquinoline (THIQ) as a bioactive organic compound derivative from isoquinoline. Following treatment of multiple myeloma cells (U266) with THIQ, MM-EVs were harvested and transmigrated to human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) in a co-culture model. EVs transmigration was traced by flow cytometry. Correspondingly, the expression of angiogenic genes and/or proteins in U266 cells and HUVECs was measured by RT-PCR and ELISA methods. Likewise, the proliferation and migration of HUVECs treated with THIQ-treated MM-EVs were visualized and estimated by performing both tube formation and scratch wound healing methods. Surprisingly, the anti-angiogenic effect of THIQ-treated MM-EVs was evident by the decreased expression of CD34, VEGFR2, and IL-6 at the mRNA and/or protein levels after internalization of MM-EVs in HUVEC. Finally, tube formation and scratch wound healing experiments showed inhibition of HUVEC cell proliferation and migration by THIQ-treated MM-EVs compared to control MM-EVs. MM-EVs derived from THIQ-treated myeloma cells (U266) inhibited angiogenesis in HUVECs. This phenomenon is coordinated by the internalized THIQ-treated MM-EVs in HUVECs, and ultimately the reduction of angiogenic factors and inhibition of tube formation and scratch wound healing.

Based on the pivotal KarMMa-1 and CARTITUDE-1 studies, Idecabtagene vicleucel (Ide-cel) and Ciltacabtagene autoleucel (Cilta-cel) have been approved to treat multiple myeloma patients, who have been exposed to at least 1 proteasome inhibitor, immunomodulatory drug and anti-CD38 antibody after 4 or 3 lines of therapy, respectively. The unprecedented rates of deep and long-lasting remissions have been meanwhile confirmed in multiple real-world analyses and more recently, the KarMMa-3 and CARTITUDE-4 studies lead to the approval in earlier lines of therapy. It is currently believed that ultimately all patients with relapsed/refractory multiple myeloma experience relapse after anti-BCMA CAR T-cell therapies. There is a plethora of CAR T-cell therapies targeting novel antigens, with the aim to overcome current CAR T-cell resistance. In this review, we will summarize current evidence of novel antigens and their clinical potential. Together with current CAR T-cell therapy and T-cell engagers, these approaches might lead us to the next frontier in multiple myeloma: total immunotherapy and the road to chemotherapy-free cure.

INTRODUCTION: Teclistamab, a bispecific T-cell engaging antibody targeting B-cell maturation antigen (BCMA), is indicated for the treatment of relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma after at least four lines of therapy. It has boxed warnings for life threatening cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS). To mitigate these risks, teclistamab is initiated using step-up doses. This article examines safety event rates following the implementation of a 2-day separation between step-up doses at one institution to streamline patient care. METHODS: This was a retrospective, single-center study encompassing all patients who received teclistamab within a 1-year period. The primary endpoint was the overall incidence of CRS and ICANS. Secondary endpoints included hospital length of stay, hematological toxicities, infection rates, among other adverse events. RESULTS: A total of 27 patients were included in the analysis and stratified into accelerated (days 1,3,5) or standard (days 1,4,7) dosing groups. CRS occurred in 48% (11) of patients for the accelerated dosing and 50% (2) for the standard dosing group. ICANS was seen in 17% (4) of patients in the accelerated dosing group and none in the standard dosing group. Average length of stay in the accelerated dose was 7.6 days versus 9.2 days in the standard dose group. CONCLUSION: Accelerated dose escalation of teclistamab yielded safety event rates comparable to those in the literature. These findings may support outpatient administration for teclistamab. Accelerated dose escalation strategy allowed for the optimization of hospitalization and resources.

To retrospectively analyze whether the second revision of the international staging system (R2-ISS) influenced prognosis at treatment initiation in patients with multiple myeloma (MM) receiving anti-CD38 antibody-based triplet treatments. High-risk chromosomal abnormalities were examined from diagnosis to treatment initiation and considered positive if detected once. R2-ISS was recalculated at the initiation of treatment and defined as "dynamic R2-ISS." Data from 150 patients who underwent the defined treatments were analyzed. The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 19.5 months, and the median overall survival (OS) was 36.5 months. Dynamic R2-ISS significantly stratified prognoses for both PFS and OS. The median PFS for patients with dynamic R2-ISS IV was 3.3 months, and the median OS was 11.7 months, indicating extremely poor outcomes. Although the Revised International Staging System (R-ISS) calculated at the initiation of treatment significantly stratified treatment outcomes, the patients classified as R-ISS could be further stratified by R2-ISS to provide better prognostic information. Dynamic R2-ISS showed potential as a prognostic tool in patients with MM who are treated with anti-CD38 antibody-based triplet therapies.

Multiple myeloma is recognized as the second most common hematological cancer. MafA transcriptional repressor is an established mediator of myelomagenesis. While there are multitude of drugs available for targeting various effectors in multiple myeloma, current literature lacks a candidate RNA based MafA modulator. Thus, using the structure of MafA homodimer-consensus target DNA, a computational effort was implemented to design a novel RNA based chemical modulator against MafA. First, available MafA-consensus DNA structure was employed to generate an RNA library. This library was further subjected to global docking to select the most plausible RNA candidates, preferring to bind DNA binding region of MafA. Following global docking, MD-ready complexes that were prepared via local docking program, were subjected to 500 ns of MD simulations. First, each of these MD simulations were analyzed for relative binding free energy through MM-PBSA method, which pointed towards a strong RNA based MafA binder, RNA1. Second, through a detailed MD analysis, RNA1 was shown to prefer binding to a single monomer of the dimeric DNA binding domain of MafA using higher number of hydrophobic interactions compared with positive control MafA-DNA complex. At the final phase, a principal component analyses was conducted, which led us to identify the actual interaction region of RNA1 and MafA monomer. Overall, to our knowledge, this is the first computational study that presents an RNA molecule capable of potentially targeting MafA protein. Furthermore, limitations of our study together with possible future implications of RNA1 in multiple myeloma were also discussed.

INTRODUCTION: Treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) has been transformed by novel therapies, including CD38 monoclonal antibodies (mAbs), immunomodulatory drugs (IMiDs), and proteasome inhibitors (PIs), resulting in increasing numbers of patients who are triple-class exposed (TCE; exposed to ≥ 1 drug in each class). Many patients are penta-exposed (PE; ≥ 2 IMiDs, ≥ 2 PIs, and a CD38 mAb), some are triple-class refractory (TCR), and some are PE and TCR (PE-TCR). Data on real-world outcomes in elderly patients with MM across this spectrum of exposure are limited. METHODS: Data from the Medicare Chronic Conditions Warehouse Database from November 2006-December 2020 were used to examine cohorts of TCE, TCR, PE, and PE-TCR patients. Outcomes were assessed from the start of the index line of therapy (LOT), defined as the first LOT after becoming TCE or PE. RESULTS: A total of 2830 TCE, 1371 TCR, 1121 PE, and 774 PE-TCR patients were identified. Pomalidomide was the most frequently used medication for the index LOT in all cohorts (32.6% [PE-TCR] to 43.3% [TCR]). The most frequently used regimens for the index LOT were pomalidomide plus daratumumab for TCE (17.2%) and PE (7.0%), pomalidomide plus carfilzomib for TCR (10.3%), and pomalidomide plus elotuzumab for PE-TCR (7.4%). Median time to discontinuation (TTD) ranged from 4.2 (PE-TCR) to 6.9 (TCE) months, and overall survival (OS) ranged from 13.0 (TCR) to 15.9 (PE) months. Healthcare resource utilization (HRU) was lowest for TCE and highest for PE-TCR patients. Mean monthly healthcare costs (HCC) ranged from $23,091 (TCE) to $24,412 (PE-TCR). MM medications represented 66.2% (PE-TCR) to 72.8% (TCE) of costs. CONCLUSIONS: In this study across a spectrum of Medicare TCE patients, there was heterogeneity in treatment regimens, suggesting no standard of care. TTD and OS were short, and HRU and HCC were high. These results underscore the potential for new therapies in this population.
