RESUMO

MAIN CONCLUSION: The expression peak of VcAP1.4, VcAP1.6, VcAP3.1, VcAP3.2, VcAG3, VcFLC2, and VcSVP9 coincided with the endo-dormancy release of flower buds. Additionally, GA4+7 not only increased the expression of these genes but also promoted flower bud endo-dormancy release. The MIKCC-type MADS-box gene family is involved in the regulation of flower development. A total of 109 members of the MIKCC-type MADS-box gene family were identified in blueberry. According to the phylogenetic tree, these 109 MIKCC-type MADS-box proteins were divided into 13 subfamilies, which were distributed across 40 Scaffolds. The results of the conserved motif analysis showed that among 20 motifs, motifs 1, 3, and 9 formed the MADS-box structural domain, while motifs 2, 4, and 6 formed the K-box structural domain. The presence of 66 pairs of fragment duplication events in blueberry suggested that gene duplication events contributed to gene expansion and functional differentiation. Additionally, the presence of cis-acting elements revealed that VcFLC2, VcAG3, and VcSVP9 might have significant roles in the endo-dormancy release of flower buds. Meanwhile, under chilling conditions, VcAP3.1 and VcAG7 might facilitate flower bud dormancy release. VcSEP11 might promote flowering following the release of endo-dormancy, while the elevated expression of VcAP1.7 (DAM) could impede the endo-dormancy release of flower buds. The effect of gibberellin (GA4+7) treatment on the expression pattern of MIKCC-type MADS-box genes revealed that VcAP1.4, VcAP1.6, VcAP3.1, VcAG3, and VcFLC2 might promote flower bud endo-dormancy release, while VcAP3.2, VcSEP11, and VcSVP9 might inhibit its endo-dormancy release. These results indicated that VcAP1.4, VcAP1.6, VcAP1.7 (DAM), VcAP3.1, VcAG3, VcAG7, VcFLC2, and VcSVP9 could be selected as key regulatory promoting genes for controlling the endo-dormancy of blueberry flower buds.

RESUMO

The health effects of urbanization are controversial. The association between urbanization and reversible subclinical risks of cardiovascular diseases (e.g., electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities) has rarely been studied. This study aimed to assess the association between urbanization and ECG abnormalities in China based on the China National Stroke Screening Survey (CNSSS). We used changes in the satellite-measured impervious surfaces rate and nighttime light data to assess the level of urbanization. Every interquartile increment in the impervious surfaces rate or nighttime light was related to a decreased risk of ECG abnormalities, with odds ratios of 0.894 (95% CI, 0.869-0.920) or 0.809 (95% CI, 0.772-0.847), respectively. And we observed a U-shaped nonlinear exposure-response relationship curve between the impervious surfaces rate and ECG abnormalities. In conclusion, the current average level of urbanization among the studied Chinese adults remains a beneficial factor for reducing cardiovascular risks.

RESUMO

Electrocardiogram (ECG) outcomes serve as early manifestations of cardiovascular functional or structural changes. While temperature fluctuation has been demonstrated to be a risk factor for cardiovascular diseases, few epidemiological studies have reported its relationship with ECG outcomes. In this study, we employed temperature anomaly (TA) as an innovative indicator of temperature fluctuation to quantify its detrimental impacts on ECG outcomes. A longitudinal study design was conducted using the repeated ECG records of the China National Stroke Screening Survey from 2013 to 2019. Only individuals undergoing at least two ECG tests were included. The daily temperature was assimilated by combining three kinds of data: in situ observations, satellite remote sensing measurements and weather research forecast simulations. We used generalized estimating equations to control for autocorrelation among repeated records and to estimate the association between TA and the risk of ECG abnormalities. We found 6837 events of ECG abnormalities in 47,286 individuals with 102,030 visits. Each unit increment of TA increased the risk of ECG abnormalities [odds ratio (OR) = 1.009, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.001-1.017] and the risk of myocardial ischemia (OR = 1.061, 95% CI: 1.012-1.111). Hierarchic analyses presented a similar association of TA with both ECG abnormalities (OR = 1.017, 95% CI: 1.008-1.026) and myocardial ischemia (OR = 1.061, 95%CI: 1.011-1.114) in Northern China, but not in Southern China. The exposure-response relationship was estimated as a U-shaped curve centered at the TA value of zero. Sudden warming tended to increase the risk of ECG abnormalities and myocardial ischemia, and sudden cooling tended to increase the risk of atrial fibrillation. All these detrimental effects of TA could be modified by specific individual characteristics. In summary, ambient temperature fluctuation increased the risk of ECG abnormalities. This result indicated that regular ECG tests could be an early-warning measure for monitoring the adverse health effects of temperature fluctuations.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The imbalance in gut microbiota is contributing to the development and progression of IBS. FMT can improve the gut microbiota, and donor-recipient-matched FMT can help develop individualised treatment plans according to different enterotypes. This study aimed to explore the efficacy of donor-recipient matched FMT in IBS-D and evaluate its effects on gut microbiota. METHODS: Twenty-seven patients with IBS-D were randomly divided into donor-recipient matched FMT group (Group P), random-donor FMT group (Group R) and placebo group (Group B). All participants received corresponding FMT treatment after filling in IBS-S, IBS-QoL, GSRS, HADS questionnaires and having their stool samples collected at 4, 8 and 12 weeks after treatment. Analysed the improvement in the symptoms and the changes in the bacterial flora fo three groups. RESULTS: 1. The IBS-SSS, IBS-Qol, GSRS and anxiety scores of Group P were significantly lower after treatment(P<0.05). The IBS-Qol scores of Group R was significantly lower after treatment(P<0.05). 2. Beta diversity analysis showed that the gut microbiota of Group P had an obvious trend of classification after treatment. 3. Seven bacterial genera were related to the differences in the IBS-SSS scores before and after treatment. CONCLUSION: Donor-recipient-matched FMT significantly improved the clinical symptoms, quality of life, and anxiety scores of the patients with IBS-D than random-donor FMT.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: The health impact of retirement is controversial. Most previous studies have been based on self-reported health indicators or the endpoints of some chronic diseases (e.g., morbidity or mortality), but objective physiological indicators (e.g., blood pressure) have rarely been used. The objective of this study is to elucidate the health effects of retirement on blood pressure, thereby offering empirical evidence to facilitate the health of retirees and to optimize retirement policies. METHODS: From 2012 to 2015, 84,696 participants of the Chinese Hypertension Survey (CHS) were included in this study. We applied the fuzzy regression discontinuity design (FRDD) to identify retirement's causal effect on systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP) and pulse pressure. We also explored the heterogeneity in the effects of retirement across different sex and education level groups. RESULTS: Based on the fully adjusted model, we estimated that retirement increased SBP by 5.047 mm Hg (95% CI: -2.628-12.723, P value: 0.197), DBP by 0.614 mm Hg (95% CI: -3.879-5.108, P value: 0.789) and pulse pressure by 4.433 mm Hg (95% CI: -0.985-9.851, P value: 0.109). We found that retirement led to a significant increase in male participants' SBP and pulse pressure as well as a possible decrease in female participants' blood pressure. Additionally, the blood pressure levels of low-educated participants were more vulnerable to the shock of retirement. CONCLUSION: Retirement is associated with an increase in blood pressure level. There is a causal relationship between the increase in blood pressure levels of men and retirement. Policy-makers should pay extra attention to the health status of men and less educated people when adjusting retirement policies in the future.

RESUMO

The SPL gene is a plant-specific transcription factor involved in the regulation of plant growth and development, which have been identified in woody plants. The process of floral bud differentiation affects the timing of flowering and fruit set and regulates plant growth, however, the mechanism of regulation of flower development by SPL genes is less studied. In this study, 56 VcSPL genes were identified in the tetraploid blueberry. The VcSPL gene family was classified into six subfamilies, and analysis of cis-elements showed that VcSPL genes were regulated by light, phytohormones (abscisic acid, MeJA), and low temperature. In the evolutionary analysis, segmental replication may play an important role in VcSPL gene amplification. Interestingly, we also studied diploid blueberry (Bilberry), in which 24 SPL genes were identified, and 36 homologous pairs were found, suggesting a high degree of convergence in the syntenic relationship between blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum L) and bilberry (Vaccinium darrowii). Based on the expression profile, VcSPL genes were expressed at high levels in flowers, shoots, and roots, indicating a diversity of gene functions. Then we selected 20 differentially-expressed SPL genes to further investigate the role of VcSPL in floral induction and initiation. It showed that the genes VcSPL40, VcSPL35, VcSPL45, and VcSPL53 may play a crucial role in the blueberry floral transition phase (from vegetative growth to flower initiation). These results provided important information for understanding and exploring the role of VcSPLs in flower morphogenesis and plant growth.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Recently, professionals, such as those from the World Health Organization, have recommended a rigorous standard for nitrogen dioxide (NO2), a typical urban air pollutant affected by regular traffic emissions, based on its short-term and long-term cardiorespiratory effects. However, the association between middle-term NO2 exposure and cardiovascular disorders remains unknown. OBJECTIVES: This study was conducted to examine the relationship between NO2 exposure and its middle-term cardiovascular risks indicated by electrocardiogram (ECG) abnormalities. METHOD: We included 61,094 subjects (132,249 visits) with repeated ECG observations based on longitudinal data from the China National Stroke Screening Survey (CNSSS). The NO2 exposure concentration was derived from a predictive model, measured as the monthly average concentration in the 6 months of preceding the ECG measurement. We used the generalized estimation equation to assess the association between NO2 exposure and ECG abnormalities. RESULT: For each 10 µg/m3 increase in monthly average NO2 concentration, the odds ratio of ECG abnormalities was 1.10 (95% confidence interval [CI] 1.09-1.12) after multiple adjustments. Stratified regression analyses of urban and rural residents showed associations between middle-term NO2 exposure and ECG abnormalities in urban (OR 1.09 [95% CI 1.08-1.11]) and rural residents (OR 1.14 [95% CI 1.10-1.19]). The association was robust within different subpopulations. Associations generally remained statistically significant (OR 1.03 [95% CI 1.02-1.05]) after extra adjustment for PM2.5. Exposure-response relationship analysis revealed a nearly linear relationship between NO2 exposure and the risk for ECG abnormalities. CONCLUSION: Using the variation in ECG signals as a potentially reversible indicator for subclinical risk in cardiovascular systems, our study provides additional evidence on the increased risk posed by middle-term NO2 exposure. Our study showed that policies controlling for NO2 concentrations are beneficial to prevent cardiovascular diseases among Chinese adults.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Although physical activity (PA) has multiple health benefits, the inhaled dose of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) during PA may increase. The trade-off between harmful effects of PM2.5 exposure and protective effects of PA remain unclear. Our study aims to examine the joint effects of PA and PM2.5 exposure on blood pressure (BP) in Chinese adults. METHODS: A total of 203,108 adults aged ≥ 18 years from the China Hypertension Survey study (2012-2015) were included. Individual-level PA was assessed as minutes of metabolic equivalent tasks per week (MET-min/week). The average weekly PM2.5 exposures were estimated by using a spatial resolution of 10 km, integrating multiple data sources, including monitoring values, satellite measurements and model simulations. BP was measured with a professional portable BP monitor. Generalized linear regressions were used to estimate joint associations and to further explore two-dimensional nonlinear associations. RESULTS: The median PA and 4-week PM2.5 average exposures were 3213.0 MET-min/week and 47.8 µg/m3, respectively. PA was negatively associated with BP, while PM2.5 exposure was positively with BP. The associations between PA and systolic BP were significantly modified by PM2.5 exposure (Pinteraction < 0.001). Compared with inactive participants under low PM2.5 exposure, those with highest level of PA under low PM2.5 exposure had a 0.90 (95 % CI: 0.53, 1.26) mmHg decrease in systolic BP, whereas they had a 0.48 (95 % CI: 0.07, 0.89) mmHg increase under high PM2.5 exposure. When PM2.5 exposure was approximately > 25 µg/m3, the joint exposure to total PA and PM2.5 was associated with an increase in systolic BP. CONCLUSIONS: The benefits of PA on BP were counteracted by high PM2.5 levels.

RESUMO

Objective To explore the overall level, distribution characteristics, and differences in household fine particulate matter (PM2.5) pollution caused by fuel burning in urban and rural areas in China. Methods The relevant articles published from 1991 to 2021 were retrieved and included in this study. The data including the average concentration of household PM2.5 and urban and rural areas were extracted, and the stoves and fuel types were reclassified. The average concentration of PM2.5 in different areas was calculated and analyzed by nonparametric test. Results The average household PM2.5 concentration in China was (178.81±249.91) µg/m3.The mean household PM2.5 concentration was higher in rural areas than in urban areas[(206.08±279.40) µg/m3 vs. (110.63±131.16) µg/m3;Z=-5.45,P<0.001] and higher in northern areas than in southern areas[(224.27±301.66) µg/m3 vs.(130.11±140.61) µg/m3;Z=-2.38,P=0.017].The north-south difference in household PM2.5 concentration was more significant in rural areas than in urban areas[(324.19±367.94) µg/m3 vs.(141.20±151.05) µg/m3,χ2=-5.06,P<0.001].The PM2.5 pollution level showed differences between urban and rural households using different fuel types (χ2=92.85,P<0.001),stove types (χ2=74.42,P<0.001),and whether they were heating (Z=-4.43,P<0.001).Specifically,rural households mainly used solid fuels (manure, charcoal, coal) and traditional or improved stoves, while urban households mainly used clean fuels (gas) and clean stoves. The PM2.5 concentrations in heated households were higher than those in non-heated households in both rural and urban areas (Z=-4.43,P<0.001). Conclusions The household PM2.5 pollution caused by fuel combustion in China remains a high level. The PM2.5 concentration shows a significant difference between urban and rural households, and the PM2.5 pollution is more serious in rural households. The difference in the household PM2.5 concentration between urban and rural areas is more significant in northern China.PM2.5 pollution in the households using solid fuel, traditional stoves, and heating is serious, and thus targeted measures should be taken to control PM2.5 pollution in these households.

RESUMO

Protein phosphorylation is a reversible and ubiquitous post-translational modification that primarily occurs at serine, threonine and tyrosine residues and regulates a variety of biological processes. In this paper, we first briefly summarized the current progresses in computational prediction of eukaryotic protein phosphorylation sites, which mainly focused on animals and plants, especially on human, with a less extent on fungi. Since the number of identified fungi phosphorylation sites has greatly increased in a wide variety of organisms and their roles in pathological physiology still remain largely unknown, more attention has been paid on the identification of fungi-specific phosphorylation. Here, experimental fungi phosphorylation sites data were collected and most of the sites were classified into different types to be encoded with various features and trained via a two-step feature optimization method. A novel method for prediction of species-specific fungi phosphorylation-PreSSFP was developed, which can identify fungi phosphorylation in seven species for specific serine, threonine and tyrosine residues (http://computbiol.ncu.edu.cn/PreSSFP). Meanwhile, we critically evaluated the performance of PreSSFP and compared it with other existing tools. The satisfying results showed that PreSSFP is a robust predictor. Feature analyses exhibited that there have some significant differences among seven species. The species-specific prediction via two-step feature optimization method to mine important features for training could considerably improve the prediction performance. We anticipate that our study provides a new lead for future computational analysis of fungi phosphorylation.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Vitamin D insufficiency or deficiency is associated with an altered microbiota in older men. However, the relationship between the gut microbiota and 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) levels remains unknown in postmenopausal women. In this study, fecal microbiota profiles for 88 postmenopausal women in the high 25(OH)D (HVD) group (n = 44) and the low 25(OH)D (LVD) group (n = 44) were determined. An integrated 16S rRNA gene sequencing and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics approach was applied to explore the association of serum 25(OH)D levels with the gut microbiota and fecal metabolic phenotype. Adjustments were made using several statistical models for potential confounding variables identified from the literature. RESULTS: The results demonstrated that the community diversity estimated by the Observe, Chao1 and ACE indexes was significantly lower in the LVD group than in the HVD group. Additionally, two kinds of characteristic differences in the microflora were analyzed in the HVD group, and ten kinds of characteristic differences in the microflora were analyzed in the LVD group. We observed that some bacteria belonging to the genera Bifidobacterium, Bacillus, F0332 and Gemella, were enriched in the LVD group, as were other genera, including Lachnoclostridium, UC5_1_2E3, Ruminococcus_gnavus_group and un_f_Lachnospiraceae. Christensenellaceae, Eggerthellaceae and Cloacibacillus were enriched in the HVD group. The L-pyroglutamic acid, inosine, and L-homocysteic acid levels were higher in the HVD group and were negatively correlated with the 1,2-benzenedicarboxylic acid and cholic acid metabolic levels. CONCLUSIONS: These observations provide a better understanding of the relationships between serum 25(OH)D levels and the fecal microbiota and metabolites in postmenopausal women.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To quantify financial toxicity of female patients with breast cancer in China and investigate its factors and patients' coping strategies. METHODS: The Comprehensive Score for Financial Toxicity (COST) is defined by using a structured questionnaire containing 12 items measuring perceived affordability of healthcare services, with the range of scoring of which being from 0 to 44 (higher score indicates lower financial toxicity). From January to March 2021, a total of 664 female patients diagnosed with stage 0-IV breast cancer were recruited from 33 public tertiary cancer hospitals located in 31 provinces of China. Multivariate linear regression models were used. RESULTS: The median age of patients was 48 years (range: 26-84 years), and 62.04% lived in urban areas. The median COST score was 21.00 (interquartile range: 15-26). Older age, higher household income, and better self-reported health status were associated with lower financial toxicity, while a bigger household size, being retired or unemployed, stage IV cancer, and a history of targeted therapy were associated with higher financial toxicity (all P < 0.05). Nearly half of the patients reported using at least one coping strategy, including considering quitting treatment, delaying treatment, and failing to take medicine or attend medical visits as instructed. The people with increased financial toxicity seem to adopt more coping strategies. CONCLUSIONS: Financial toxicity and coping strategies are common among Chinese women with breast cancer. An understanding of the factors regarding financial toxicity may help oncologists and policy-makers identify at-risk patients and develop targeted interventions.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: Exposure to greenspace has been reported to reduce stroke mortality, but there is a lack of evidence regarding poststroke disability. This study aimed to investigate the association between long-term greenspace exposure and the risk of poststroke disability. METHODS: Based on the China National Stroke Screening Survey from 2013 to 2019, a total of 65,892 visits from 28,085 stroke survivors with ≥ 2 visits were included in this longitudinal study. Long-term greenspace exposure was assessed by a 3-year average of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) and the proportion of green land cover according to participants' residential communities. Poststroke functional status was assessed with the modified Ranking Score (mRS) at each visit; a cutoff score > 2 indicated disability. Fixed effects regressions were used to examine the association of greenspace exposure with continuous mRS scores or binary indicators for disability. RESULTS: The annual mean NDVI value was 0.369 (standard deviation = 0.120) for all visits among stroke survivors. With full adjustments, each 0.05 increase in NDVI was associated with a 0.056-unit (95 % confidence interval (CI): 0.034, 0.079) decrease in the mRS score and a 46.6 % (95 % CI: 10.0 %, 68.3 %) lower risk of poststroke disability. An L-shaped curve was observed for the nonlinear associations between NDVI and mRS score or disability. Additionally, each 1 % increase in grasslands, savannas, forest, and croplands was associated with 0.008- (95 % CI: 0.002, 0.014), 0.003- (95 % CI: 0.001, 0.005), 0.001- (95 % CI: -0.015, 0.018), and 0.002-unit (95 % CI: -0.003, 0.007) decreases in the mRS score, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Increasing greenspace was inversely associated with mRS score. Greenspace planning can be a potential intervention to prevent poststroke disability.

RESUMO

Global warming and pesticide contamination are two stressors of high concern, but their combined effects on freshwater biota are controversial. This study investigated the combined effects of warming and imidacloprid (IMI) on survival (measured as life expectancy at hatching), reproduction (net reproductive rate), population growth (intrinsic rate of population increase) and sexual reproduction (proportion of sexual offspring) of Brachionus calyciflorus using a life table experiment. The results showed that compared with controls, treatments with IMI at 50-100 mg/L significantly decreased survival, reproduction and population growth of the rotifers at 20℃. The inhibiting effect at higher IMI concentrations on survival increased with increasing temperatures, but those on reproduction and population growth increased only when the temperature increased from 25℃ to 30℃. The proportion of sexual offspring decreased with increasing temperatures. When monitoring the ecological effects of pollutants, environmental temperature and the possible adaptation of rotifers to it should be taken into consideration.

RESUMO

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are appealing photocatalysts for toxic chemical degradation. Great efforts have been devoted to regulate the photocatalytic performance of COFs by tuning their organic building blocks, but the relationship between COF linkage and photochemical properties has rarely been explored. Herein, we report the synthesis and characterisation of a novel aminal-linked porphyrinic COF, namely Por-Aminal-COF. Por-Aminal-COF (0.25 mol %) showed excellent photocatalytic activity toward the detoxification of the sulfur mustard simulant with a half-life (t1/2 ) of 5 min, which is far lower than that of traditional imine-linked Por-COF (t1/2 =16 min). Transient absorption spectroscopy indicated that the aminal linkages of Por-Aminal-COF facilitated the intersystem crossing process. Thus, Por-Aminal-COF showed higher triplet-state generation efficiency compared with Por-COF, consequently promoting the activation of oxygen molecular to singlet oxygen.

RESUMO

Accumulative studies have indicated that amino acid variations through changing the type of residues of the target sites or key flanking residues could directly or indirectly influence protein posttranslational modifications (PTMs) and bring about a detrimental effect on protein function. Computational mutation analysis can greatly narrow down the efforts on experimental work. To increase the utilization of current computational resources, we first provide an overview of computational prediction of amino acid variations that influence protein PTMs and their functional analysis. We also discuss the challenges that are faced while developing novel in silico approaches in the future. The development of better methods for mutation analysis-related protein PTMs will help to facilitate the development of personalized precision medicine.

RESUMO

Oxidative stress and hypoxia are two opposite microenvironments involved in HCC metastasis. Thioredoxin (TXN) and hypoxia-inducible factor 2α (HIF-2α) are typical proteins involved in these two different microenvironments, respectively. How these two factors interact to influence the fate on tumor cells remains unknown. Hypoxia facilitated HCC cells withstood oxidative stress and eventually promoted HCC cells metastasis, in which TXN and HIF-2α were mostly involved. Upregulation of TXN/HIF-2α correlated with poor HCC prognosis and promoted HCC metastasis both in vitro and in vivo. Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process was involved in TXN/HIF-2α-enhanced invasiveness of HCC cells. Additionally, the stability and activity of HIF-2α were precisely regulated by TXN via SUMOylation and acetylation, which contributed to HCC metastasis. Our data revealed that the redox protein TXN and HIF-2α are both associated with HCC metastasis, and the fine regulation of TXN on HIF-2α contributes essentially during the process of metastasis. Our study provides new insight into the interaction mechanism between hypoxia and oxidative stress and implies potential therapeutic benefits by targeting both TXN and HIF-2α in the treatment of HCC metastasis.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Faecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) is an effective therapy for recurrent Clostridium difficile infections and chronic gastrointestional infections. However, the risks of FMT and the selection process of suitable donors remain insufficiently characterized. The eligibility rate for screening, underlying microbial basis, and core ethical issues of stool donors for FMT are yet to be elucidated in China. RESULTS: The potential stool donors were screened from December 2017 to December 2019 with the help of an online survey, clinical assessments, and stool and blood testing. Bioinformatics analyses were performed, and the composition and stability of gut microbiota in stool obtained from eligible donors were dynamically observed using metagenomics. Meanwhile, we build a donor microbial evaluation index (DoMEI) for stool donor screening. In the screening process, we also focused on ethical principles and requirements. Of the 2071 participants, 66 donors were selected via the screening process (3.19% success rate). Although there were significant differences in gut microbiota among donors, we found that the changes in the gut microbiota of the same donor were typically more stable than those between donors over time. CONCLUSIONS: DoMEI provides a potential reference index for regular stool donor re-evaluation. In this retrospective study, we summarised the donor recruitment and screening procedure ensuring the safety and tolerability for FMT in China. Based on the latest advances in this field, we carried out rigorous recommendation and method which can assist stool bank and clinicians to screen eligible stool donor for FMT.

RESUMO

Atomically precise o-carboranealkynyl-protected clusters [Ag14(C4B10H11)12(CH3CN)2]·2NO3 (CBA-Ag) and [Cu6Ag8(C4B10H11)12Cl]NO3 (CBA-CuAg) have been found to exhibit hypergolic activity, such that they are capable of spontaneous ignition and combustion upon contact with the white fuming nitric acid oxidizer. In particular, CBA-CuAg has a short ignition delay time of 15 ms, whereas the o-carboranealkynyl ligand is hypergolically inert. Systematic investigation revealed that the metal cluster core catalyzed the hypergolic behavior of inert o-carboranealkynyl ligand, and Cu doping further accelerated combustion catalysis. This work provides a new prospective in the rational design of novel metal cluster-based hypergolic fuels for propellant application.
