According to expert guidelines, lymph node surgical excision is the standard of care for lymphoma diagnosis. However, core needle biopsy (CNB) has become widely accepted as part of the lymphoma diagnostic workup over the past decades. The aim of this study was to present the largest multicenter inventory of lymph nodes sampled either by CNB or surgical excision in patients with suspected lymphoma and to compare their diagnostic performance in routine pathologic practice. We reviewed 32 285 cases registered in the French Lymphopath network, which provides a systematic expert review of all lymphoma diagnoses in France, and evaluated the percentage of CNB and surgical excision cases accurately diagnosed according to the World Health Organization classification. Although CNB provided a definitive diagnosis in 92.3% and seemed to be a reliable method of investigation for most patients with suspected lymphoma, it remained less conclusive than surgical excision, which provided a definitive diagnosis in 98.1%. Discordance rates between referral and expert diagnoses were higher on CNB (23.1%) than on surgical excision (21.2%; P = .004), and referral pathologists provided more cases with unclassified lymphoma or equivocal lesion through CNB. In such cases, expert review improved the diagnostic workup by classifying ∼90% of cases, with higher efficacy on surgical excision (93.3%) than CNB (81.4%; P < 10-6). Moreover, diagnostic concordance for reactive lesions was higher on surgical excision than CNB (P = .009). Overall, although CNB accurately diagnoses lymphoma in most instances, it increases the risk of erroneous or nondefinitive conclusions. This large-scale survey also emphasizes the need for systematic expert review in cases of lymphoma suspicion, especially in those sampled by using CNB.

BACKGROUND: Early hormone-positive breast cancers typically have favorable outcomes, yet long-term surveillance is crucial due to the risk of late recurrences. While many studies associate MMP-11 expression with poor prognosis in breast cancer, few focus on early-stage cases. This study explores MMP-11 as an early prognostic marker in hormone-positive breast cancers. METHODS: In this retrospective study, 228 women with early hormone-positive invasive ductal carcinoma, treated surgically between 2011 and 2016, were included. MMP-11 expression was measured by immunohistochemistry, and its association with clinical and MRI data was analyzed. RESULTS: Among the patients (aged 31-89, median 60, with average tumor size of 15.7 mm), MMP-11 staining was observed in half of the cases. This positivity correlated with higher uPA levels and tumor grade but not with nodal status or size. Furthermore, MMP-11 positivity showed specific associations with MRI features. Over a follow-up period of 6.5 years, only 12 oncological events occurred. Disease-free survival was linked to Ki67 and MMP-11. CONCLUSION: MMP-11, primarily present in tumor-surrounding stromal cells, correlates with tumor grade and uPA levels. MMP-11 immunohistochemical score demonstrates a suggestive trend in association with disease-free survival, independent of Ki67 and other traditional prognostic factors. This highlights the potential of MMP-11 as a valuable marker in managing early hormone-positive breast cancer.

Pan-Trk immunohistochemistry has been described as a screening test for the detection of NTRK fusions in a broad spectrum of tumor types. However, pan-Trk testing in the clinical setting may be limited by many factors, including analytical parameters such as clones, platforms, and protocols used. This study aimed to harmonize pan-Trk testing using various clones and immunohistochemical (IHC) platforms and to evaluate the level of analytical variability across pathology laboratories. We developed several IHC pan-Trk assays using clones EPR17341 (Abcam) and A7H6R (Cell Signaling Technology) on Ventana/Roche, Agilent, and Leica platforms. To compare them, we sent unstained sections of a tissue microarray containing 9 cases with NTRK3 fusions to participating laboratories, to perform staining on Ventana/Roche (10 centers), Agilent (4 centers), and Leica (3 centers) platforms. A ready-to-use pan-Trk IVD assay (Ventana/Roche) was also performed in 3 centers. All slides were centrally and blindly reviewed for the percentage of stained tumor cells. Laboratory-developed tests with clone EPR17341 were able to detect pan-Trk protein expression in all cases, whereas lower rates of positivity were observed with clone A7H6R. Moderate to strong variability of the positive cases rate was observed with both antibodies in each IHC platforms type and each of the positivity cut points evaluated (≥1%, ≥10%, and ≥50% of stained tumor cells). The rate of false-negative cases was lower when pan-Trk staining was assessed with the lowest positivity threshold (≥1%). In conclusion, most evaluated pan-Trk IHC laboratory-developed tests were able to detect NTRK3-fusion proteins; however, a significant analytical variability was observed between antibodies, platforms, and centers.

Head and neck squamous cell carcinomas (HNSCCs) are heterogeneous tumors, well known for their frequent relapsing nature. To counter recurrence, biomarkers for early diagnosis, prognosis, or treatment response prediction are urgently needed. miRNAs can profoundly impact normal physiology and enhance oncogenesis. Among all of the miRNAs, the miR-30 family is frequently downregulated in HNSCC. Here, we determined how levels of the 3p passenger strands of miR-30a and miR-30e affect tumor behavior and clarified their functional role in LA-HNSCC. In a retrospective study, levels of miR-30a-3p and miR-30e-3p were determined in 110 patients and correlated to overall survival, locoregional relapse, and distant metastasis. miR-30a/e-3p were expressed in HNSCC cell lines and HNSCC patient-derived tumoroids (PDTs) to investigate their effect on tumor cells and their microenvironment. Both miRNAs were found to have a prognosis value since low miR-30a/e-3p expression correlates to adverse prognosis and reduces overall survival. Low expression of miR-30a/e-3p is associated with a shorter time until locoregional relapse and a shorter time until metastasis, respectively. miR-30a/e-3p expression downregulates both TGF-ßR1 and BMPR2 and attenuates the survival and motility of HNSCC. Results were confirmed in PDTs. Finally, secretomes of miR-30a/e-3p-transfected HNSCC activate M1-type macrophages, which exert stronger phagocytic activities toward tumor cells. miR-30a/e-3p expression can discriminate subgroups of LA-HNSCC patients with different prognosis, making them good candidates as prognostic biomarkers. Furthermore, by targeting members of the TGF-ß family and generating an immune-permissive microenvironment, they may emerge as an alternative to anti-TGF-ß drugs to use in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors.

BACKGROUND: Thoracic SMARCA4-deficient undifferentiated tumors (SMARCA4-UT) are aggressive neoplasms. Data linking BAF alterations with tumor microenvironment (TME) and efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI) are contradictory. The TME of SMARCA4-UT and their response to ICI are unknown. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Patients diagnosed with SMARCA4-UT in our institution were included. Immunostainings for tertiary lymphoid structures (TLS), immune cell markers, and checkpoints were assessed. Validation was performed using an independent transcriptome dataset including SMARCA4-UT, non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLC) with/without SMARCA4 mutations, and unclassified thoracic sarcomas (UTS). CXCL9 and PD-L1 expressions were assessed in NSCLC and thoracic fibroblast cell lines, with/without SMARCA4 knockdown, treated with/without interferon gamma. RESULTS: Nine patients were identified. All samples but one showed no TLS, consistent with an immune desert TME phenotype. Four patients received ICI as part of their treatment, but the only one who responded, had a tumor with a TLS and immune-rich TME. Unsupervised clustering of the validation cohort using immune cell scores identified 2 clusters associated with cell ontogeny and immunity (cluster 1 enriched for NSCLC independently of SMARCA4 status (n = 9/10; P = .001); cluster 2 enriched for SMARCA4-UT (n = 11/12; P = .005) and UTS (n = 5/5; P = .0005). SMARCA4 loss-of-function experiments revealed interferon-induced upregulation of CXCL9 and PD-L1 expression in the NSCLC cell line with no effect on the thoracic fibroblast cell line. CONCLUSION: SMARCA4-UT mainly have an immune desert TME with limited efficacy to ICI. TME of SMARCA4-driven tumors varies according to the cell of origin questioning the interplay between BAF alterations, cell ontogeny and immunity.

The oncogenic events involved in breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BI-ALCL) remain elusive. To clarify this point, we have characterized the genomic landscape of 34 BI-ALCLs (15 tumor and 19 in situ subtypes) collected from 54 BI-ALCL patients diagnosed through the French Lymphopath network. Whole-exome sequencing (n = 22, with paired tumor/germline DNA) and/or targeted deep sequencing (n = 24) showed recurrent mutations of epigenetic modifiers in 74% of cases, involving notably KMT2C (26%), KMT2D (9%), CHD2 (15%), and CREBBP (15%). KMT2D and KMT2C mutations correlated with a loss of H3K4 mono- and trimethylation by immunohistochemistry. Twenty cases (59%) showed mutations in ≥1 member of the JAK/STAT pathway, including STAT3 (38%), JAK1 (18%), and STAT5B (3%), and in negative regulators, including SOCS3 (6%), SOCS1 (3%), and PTPN1 (3%). These mutations were more frequent in tumor-type samples than in situ samples (P = .038). All BI-ALCLs expressed pSTAT3, regardless of the mutational status of genes in the JAK/STAT pathway. Mutations in the EOMES gene (12%) involved in lymphocyte development, PI3K-AKT/mTOR (6%), and loss-of-function mutations in TP53 (12%) were also identified. Copy-number aberration (CNA) analysis identified recurrent alterations, including gains on chromosomes 2, 9p, 12p, and 21 and losses on 4q, 8p, 15, 16, and 20. Regions of CNA encompassed genes involved in the JAK/STAT pathway and epigenetic regulators. Our results show that the BI-ALCL genomic landscape is characterized by not only JAK/STAT activating mutations but also loss-of-function alterations of epigenetic modifiers.

BACKGROUND: Pediatric low-grade gliomas (PLGG) are the most common brain tumors diagnosed during childhood and represent a heterogeneous group associating variable molecular abnormalities. To go further and develop specific statistical patterns between tumor molecular background, imaging features, and patient outcome, a retrospective study was performed in a group of non-neurofibromatosis type 1 (non-NF1) grade 1 PLGGs. PATIENTS AND METHODS: Seventy-eight children, followed from 2004 to 2017, were retrospectively reported. In this population, we analyzed radiological and molecular parameters. Their therapeutic management comprised surgery or surgery plus chemotherapies. RESULTS: Considering all 78 patients, 59 had only a surgical removal and 19 patients were treated with postoperative chemotherapy. Twelve progressions were reported in the partially resected and chemotherapeutic groups, whereas four deaths occurred only in the highly treated patients. As expected, in the global cohort, PLGG with BRAF p.V600E and/or CDKN2A loss exhibited poor outcomes and we evidenced significant associations between those molecular characteristics and their imaging presentation. In the chemo-treated patients, when associating initial and 6-month magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters to the molecular features, the good risk situations were significantly linked to the presence of a large tumor cyst at diagnosis and the appearance during treatment of a higher cystic proportion that we called cystic conversion. CONCLUSION: So, additionally to the presence of BRAF p.V600E or CDKN2A deletion in grade 1 PLGGs, the absence on diagnostic MRI of cystic parts and/or cystic conversion at 6-month chemotherapy were significantly linked to a worst prognosis and response to treatment. These imaging features should be considered as prognostic markers in future PLGG studies.

StAR-related lipid transfer domain-3 (STARD3) is a sterol-binding protein that creates endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-endosome contact sites. How this protein, at the crossroad between sterol uptake and synthesis pathways, impacts the intracellular distribution of this lipid was ill-defined. Here, by using in situ cholesterol labeling and quantification, we demonstrated that STARD3 induces cholesterol accumulation in endosomes at the expense of the plasma membrane. STARD3-mediated cholesterol routing depends both on its lipid transfer activity and its ability to create ER-endosome contacts. Corroborating this, in vitro reconstitution assays indicated that STARD3 and its ER-anchored partner, Vesicle-associated membrane protein-associated protein (VAP), assemble into a machine that allows a highly efficient transport of cholesterol within membrane contacts. Thus, STARD3 is a cholesterol transporter scaffolding ER-endosome contacts and modulating cellular cholesterol repartition by delivering cholesterol to endosomes.

We previously reported a new form of light chain deposition disease (LCDD) presenting as diffuse cystic lung disorder that differs from the usual systemic form with respect to patient age, the male/female ratio, the involved organs, and the hematologic characteristics. We also demonstrated that the light chains were produced by an intrapulmonary B-cell clone and that this clone shared a stereotyped antigen receptor IGHV4-34/IGKV1. However, we only analyzed 3 patients. We conducted a retrospective study including lung tissue samples from 24 patients with pulmonary LCDD (pLCDD) matched with samples from 13 patients with pulmonary κ light chain amyloidosis (pAL amyloidosis) used as controls. Mass spectrometry-based proteomics identified immunoglobulin κ peptides as the main protein component of the tissue deposits in all patients. Interestingly, in pLCDD, IGKV1 was the most common κ family detected (86.4%), and IGKV1-8 was overrepresented compared with pAL amyloidosis (75% vs 11.1%, P = .0033). Furthermore, IGKV1-8 was predominantly associated with a diffuse cystic pattern (94%) in pLCDD. In conclusion, the high frequency of IGKV1-8 usage in cystic pLCDD constitutes an additional feature arguing for a specific entity distinct from the systemic form that preferentially uses IGKV4-1.

Complete resection of the tumor is important for survival in glioma patients. Even if the gross total resection was achieved, left-over micro-scale tissue in the excision cavity risks recurrence. High Resolution Magic Angle Spinning Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (HRMAS NMR) technique can distinguish healthy and malign tissue efficiently using peak intensities of biomarker metabolites. The method is fast, sensitive and can work with small and unprocessed samples, which makes it a good fit for real-time analysis during surgery. However, only a targeted analysis for the existence of known tumor biomarkers can be made and this requires a technician with chemistry background, and a pathologist with knowledge on tumor metabolism to be present during surgery. Here, we show that we can accurately perform this analysis in real-time and can analyze the full spectrum in an untargeted fashion using machine learning. We work on a new and large HRMAS NMR dataset of glioma and control samples (n = 565), which are also labeled with a quantitative pathology analysis. Our results show that a random forest based approach can distinguish samples with tumor cells and controls accurately and effectively with a median AUC of 85.6% and AUPR of 93.4%. We also show that we can further distinguish benign and malignant samples with a median AUC of 87.1% and AUPR of 96.1%. We analyze the feature (peak) importance for classification to interpret the results of the classifier. We validate that known malignancy biomarkers such as creatine and 2-hydroxyglutarate play an important role in distinguishing tumor and normal cells and suggest new biomarker regions. The last international guidelines on HER2 determination in breast cancer have been updated in 2018 by the American Society of Clinical Oncology and College of American Pathologists, on the basis of a twenty-year practice and results of numerous clinical trials. Moreover, the emerging HER2-low concept for 1+ and 2+ non amplified breast cancers lead to refine French practices for HER2 status assessment. The GEFPICS group, composed of expert pathologists, herein presents the latest French recommendations for HER2 status evaluation in breast cancer, taking into account the ASCO/CAP guidelines and introducing the HER2-low concept. In the era of personalized medicine, HER2 status assessment remains one of the most important biomarkers in breast cancer and its quality guaranties the optimal patients' care. French pathologists' commitment in theranostic biomarker quality is more than ever required to provide the most efficient cares in oncology.

INTRODUCTION: The identification of frequent acquired mutations shows that patients with oligodendrogliomas have divergent biology with differing prognoses regardless of histological classification. A better understanding of molecular features as well as their metabolic pathways is essential. OBJECTIVES: The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the tumor metabolome, six genomic aberrations (isocitrate dehydrogenase1 [IDH1] mutation, 1p/19q codeletion, tumor protein p53 [TP53] mutation, O6-methylguanin-DNA methyltransferase [MGMT] promoter methylation, epidermal growth factor receptor [EGFR] amplification, phosphate and tensin homolog [PTEN] methylation), and the patients' survival time. METHODS: We applied 1H high-resolution magic-angle spinning (HRMAS) nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy to 72 resected oligodendrogliomas. RESULTS: The presence of IDH1, TP53, 1p19q codeletion, MGMT promoter methylation reduced the relative risk of death, whereas PTEN methylation and EGFR amplification were associated with poor prognosis. Increased concentration of 2-hydroxyglutarate (2HG), N-acetyl-aspartate (NAA), myo-inositol and the glycerophosphocholine/phosphocholine (GPC/PC) ratio were good prognostic factors. Increasing the concentration of serine, glycine, glutamate and alanine led to an increased relative risk of death. CONCLUSION: HRMAS NMR spectroscopy provides accurate information on the metabolomics of oligodendrogliomas, making it possible to find new biomarkers indicative of survival. It enables rapid characterization of intact tissue and could be used as an intraoperative method.

Background uPA and PAI-1 are breast cancer biomarkers that evaluate the benefit of chemotherapy (CT) for HER2-negative, estrogen receptor-positive, low or intermediate grade patients. Our objectives were to observe clinical routine use of uPA/PAI-1 and to build a new therapeutic decision tree integrating uPA/PAI-1. Methods We observed the concordance between CT indications proposed by a canonical decision tree representative of French practices (not including uPA/PAI-1) and actual CT prescriptions decided by a medical board which included uPA/PAI-1. We used a method of machine learning for the analysis of concordant and non-concordant CT prescriptions to generate a novel scheme for CT indications. Results We observed a concordance rate of 71% between indications proposed by the canonical decision tree and actual prescriptions. Discrepancies were due to CT contraindications, high tumor grade and uPA/PAI-1 level. Altogether, uPA/PAI-1 were a decisive factor for the final decision in 17% of cases by avoiding CT prescription in two-thirds of cases and inducing CT in other cases. Remarkably, we noted that in routine practice, elevated uPA/PAI-1 levels seem not to be considered as a sufficient indication for CT for N≤3, Ki 67≤30% tumors, but are considered in association with at least one additional marker such as Ki 67>14%, vascular invasion and ER-H score <150. Conclusions This study highlights that in the routine clinical practice uPA/PAI-1 are never used as the sole indication for CT. Combined with other routinely used biomarkers, uPA/PAI-1 present an added value to orientate the therapeutic choice.

RESUMO

Neoadjuvant therapy is an increasing treatment option in the management of breast cancer. The tumor response to neoadjuvant therapy, especially the pathological complete response, is a validated endpoint frequently used in clinical trials. However, there is still a lack of standardization for the surgical specimen management in the neoadjuvant setting. This leads to heterogeneity in the specimen handling and might lead to significant bias for the prognostic assessment of patients or in clinical trials. The GEFPICS group, composed of expert breast cancer pathologists, herein presents guidelines for the management of breast and axillary specimen before treatment (management of biopsy, items of the pathological report) and after neoadjuvant therapy (specimen handling, histological assessment of response, items of the pathological report and response grading systems).

Individuals with trisomic conditions like Down syndrome and Edwards syndrome are prone to certain types of malignancy. However, for Patau syndrome (constitutional trisomy 13), which occurs in 1/10,000-1/20,000 live births, the tumor profile has not been well characterized. An awareness of susceptibility to malignancies can improve care of affected individuals, as well as further our understanding of the contribution of trisomy to carcinogenesis. Therefore, we conducted an extensive review of the literature; we found 17 malignancies reported in individuals with Patau syndrome. These comprised eight embryonic tumors, three leukemias, two malignant germ cell tumors, two carcinomas, a malignant brain tumor, and a sarcoma. Benign tumors were mainly extragonadal teratomas. The small number of reported malignant tumors suggests that there is not an increased risk of cancer in the context of trisomy 13. The tumor profile in Patau syndrome differs from that observed in Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18) and Down syndrome (trisomy 21), suggesting that the supernumerary chromosome 13 could promote particular tumor formations as it does particular malformations. No general and direct relationships of tumor occurrence with organ weight, congenital malformations, histological changes, or presence of tumor suppressor genes on chromosome 13 were observed. However, some tumors were found in tissues whose growth and development are controlled by genes mapping to chromosome 13. Recent reports of successful outcomes following surgical treatment and adapted chemotherapy indicate that treatment of cancer is possible in Patau syndrome.

PURPOSE: We explored the clinical utility of human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 extracellular domain (HER2/ECD) in patients treated for an invasive breast cancer with HER2 overexpression. METHODS: We prospectively studied HER2/ECD levels in the sera of 334 women included between 2007 and 2014, all treated with trastuzumab. HER2/ECD levels were measured at diagnosis, during treatments, and along the follow-up. We investigated the relationship of HER2/ECD with other clinicopathological parameters at diagnosis, its prognosis value, and its utility during the monitoring of a neoadjuvant treatment and the follow-up. RESULTS: Elevated HER2/ECD at diagnosis correlated positively with parameters associated with tumor aggressiveness. Disease-free survival of non-metastatic patients was significantly shorter in patients with high HER2/ECD at diagnosis (HR = 13.6, 95 % CI 1.6-113.6, P < 0.0001). Progression-free survival of metastatic patients was better for patients with low HER2/ECD (HR = 2.6, 95 % CI 1.2-5.3, P = 0.033). A multivariate analysis revealed that HER2/ECD level at diagnosis was an independent prognosis factor. During neoadjuvant therapy, a significant decrease in HER2/ECD was reported only for the complete histological response group (P = 0.031). During the follow-up, HER2/ECD helped predict relapse, disease progression, and metastases before imaging in 18.6 % cases of the studied cohort. CONCLUSIONS: HER2/ECD is a prognosis factor that is valuable in evaluating the neoadjuvant treatment efficiency. HER2/ECD also appears to be a helpful surveillance biomarker for the early diagnosis of relapses and to predict the fate of metastases. This study brings evidences to support the use of HER2/ECD in the management of HER2-positive breast cancer.

INTRODUCTION: We describe the case of a patient presenting with drug rash with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), where cutaneous biopsy revealed intravascular atypical lymphocytes suggestive of lymphoma. CASE REPORT: A 77-year-old man was treated with antibiotics for a hip prosthesis infection. Eight weeks later, he developed a maculo-papulous eruption, edema of the extremities, fever and blood eosinophilia. Cutaneous biopsy revealed an atypical T-cell proliferation into the dermal lymphatic vessels. The lymphocytes were mid-sized, with mitoses and apoptotic figures. They were CD3+, CD4+, CD5+ and some were CD30+. There was no T-cell receptor (TcR) clonal rearrangement. Complete regression of cutaneous eruption and eosinophilia was observed after ceasing treatment with antibiotics. The diagnosis was that of a benign atypical intralymphatic T-cell proliferation associated with DRESS. DISCUSSION: The occurrence of atypical dermal CD30+ T-cells in cutaneous biopsy during benign reactive conditions such as arthropod bites or scabies is well-known. The intralymphatic localization of such atypical reactive lymphocytes is much less common and represents a diagnostic pitfall because it can suggest aggressive intravascular lymphoma. CONCLUSION: We report the first case of benign atypical intralymphatic CD30+ T-cell proliferation associated with DRESS. Diagnostic clues include immunohistochemistry, absence of TcR clonal rearrangement, and anatomo-clinical correlation.

BACKGROUND: Identifying patients who will experience lung cancer recurrence after surgery remains a challenge. We aimed to evaluate whether mutant forms of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and Kirsten rat sarcoma viral oncogene homolog (KRAS) (mEGFR and mKRAS) are useful biomarkers in resected non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed data from 841 patients who underwent surgery and molecular testing for NSCLC between 2007 and 2012. RESULTS: mEGFR was observed in 103 patients (12.2%), and mKRAS in 265 (31.5%). The median overall survival (OS) and time to recurrence (TTR) were significantly lower for mKRAS (OS: 43 months; TTR: 19 months) compared with mEGFR (OS: 67 months; TTR: 24 months) and wild-type patients (OS: 55 months; disease-free survival (DFS): 24 months). Patients with KRAS G12V exhibited worse OS and TTR compared with the entire cohort (OS: KRAS G12V: 26 months vs COHORT: 60 months; DFS: KRAS G12V: 15 months vs COHORT: 24 months). These results were confirmed using multivariate analyses (non-G12V status, hazard ratio (HR): 0.43 (confidence interval: 0.28-0.65), P<0.0001 for OS; HR: 0.67 (0.48-0.92), P=0.01 for TTR). Risk of recurrence was significantly lower for non-KRAS G12V (HR: 0.01, (0.001-0.08), P<0.0001). CONCLUSIONS: mKRAS and mEGFR may predict survival and recurrence in early stages of NSCLC. Patients with KRAS G12V exhibited worse OS and higher recurrence incidences.

Taenia martis is a tapeworm affecting mustelids, with rodents serving as intermediate hosts. The larval stage (cysticercus) has been found before only rarely in humans or primates. We hereby describe a case of cerebral T. martis cysticercosis in a French immunocompetent patient, confirmed by DNA analyses of biopsy material.
