RESUMO

Up to now, there has not yet been guidance or consensus from Chinese experts in the field of personalized prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes. In view of the above, the endocrinology diabetes Professional Committee of Chinese Non-government Medical Institutions Association, the integrated endocrinology diabetes Professional Committee of the integrated medicine branch of Chinese Medical Doctor Association, and the diabetes education and microvascular complications group of the diabetes branch of the Chinese Medical Association organized relevant experts to discuss and reach the "Chinese expert consensus on strengthening personalized prevention and treatment of type 2 diabetes" for reference in clinical practice.

RESUMO

Wearable, portable, and biocompatible optoelectronic devices made of all-green and abundant materials and fabricated by low-temperature solution method are the key point in the development of next generation of intelligent optoelectronics. However, this is usually limited by the weaknesses of mono-component materials, such as non-adjustable photoresponse region, high carrier recombination rate, high signal-to-noise ratio, as well as the weak mechanical flexibility of bulk films. In this work, the Cs3Cu2I5/ZnO heterostructure flexible photodetectors were constructed by a low-temperature solution method combined with spin-coating technique. The heterostructure combines the low dark current and strong deep ultraviolet absorption of Cs3Cu2I5 quantum dots with the high carrier mobility of ZnO quantum dots as well as the efficient charge separation of the vertical p-n junction, to improve the photodetection performance. The heterostructure shows enhanced light/dark current ratio and ultraviolet-to-visible rejection ratios. Under an illumination of 280 nm light, an optical detectivity as high as 1.26 × 1011 Jones was obtained; the optical responsivity and response time are much better than those of control devices. After 300 times of 180° bending cycles, the photocurrent had no obvious change. The results demonstrate that the Cs3Cu2I5/ZnO heterostructure has great potential in wearable and portable visible-blind ultraviolet optoelectronic devices.

RESUMO

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is heterogeneous in many facets. The patients suffered from type 1 diabetes present several levels of islet function as well as variable number and type of islet-specific autoantibodies. This study was to investigate prevalence and heterogeneity of the islet autoantibodies and clinical phenotypes of type 1 diabetes mellitus; and also discussed the process of islet failure and its risk factors in Chinese type 1 diabetic patients. A total of 1,291 type 1 diabetic patients were enrolled in this study. Demographic information was collected. Laboratory tests including mixed-meal tolerance test, human leukocyte antigen alleles, hemoglobinA1c, lipids, thyroid function and islet autoantibodies were conducted. The frequency of islet-specific autoantibody in newly diagnosed T1DM patients (duration shorter than half year) was 73% in East China. According to binary logistic regressions, autoantibody positivity, longer duration and lower Body Mass Index were the risk factors of islet failure. As the disease developed, autoantibodies against glutamic acid decarboxylase declined as well as the other two autoantibodies against zinc transporter 8 and islet antigen 2. The decrease of autoantibodies was positively correlated with aggressive beta cell destruction. Autoantibodies can facilitate the identification of classic T1DM from other subtypes and predict the progression of islet failure. As there were obvious heterogeneity in autoantibodies and clinical manifestation in different phenotypes of the disease, we should take more factors into consideration when identifying type 1 diabetes mellitus.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The relationship of platelet volume indices including mean platelet volume (MPV) and platelet distribution width (PDW) with carotid intima-media thickness (IMT) as well as vibration perception threshold (VPT) was investigated in type 2 diabetic patients. METHODS: A total of 500 type 2 diabetic patients (298 male, 202 female) were enrolled. Clinical and laboratory data were collected from hospital records. RESULTS: Both MPV and PDW were significantly associated with carotid IMT, after adjustment for confounding factors including age, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol and creatinine (0.833 ± 0.029 mm vs. 0.955 ± 0.030 mm; 0.839 ± 0.029 mm vs. 0.955 ± 0.030 mm; P = 0.0015 and P = 0.022, respectively). Agreed with carotid IMT analysis results, significant association was found between PDW and VPT as tertiles (15.760 ± 1.091V vs 20.187 ± 1.094V, P = 0.016). In multivariable analysis, both MPV and PDW were significantly associated with VPT (P = 0.021 and P = 0.007, respectively). However, only PDW, but not MPV, was significantly associated with carotid IMT (P = 0.002). CONCLUSIONS: These findings implied the predictive value of platelets volume indices in vascular and peripheral neuropathy complications in type 2 diabetes.
