The utility of cell-free (cf) DNA has extended as a surrogate or clinical biomarker for various diseases. However, a more profound and expanded understanding of the diverse cfDNA population and its correlation with physiological phenotypes and environmental factors is imperative for using its full potential. The high-altitude (HA; altitude > 2,500 m above sea level) environment characterized by hypobaric hypoxia offers an observational case-control design to study the differential cfDNA profile in patients with high-altitude pulmonary edema (HAPE) (number of subjects, n = 112) and healthy HA sojourners (n = 111). The present study investigated cfDNA characteristics such as concentration, fragment length size, degree of integrity, and subfractions reflecting mitochondrial-cfDNA copies in the two groups. The total cfDNA level was significantly higher in patients with HAPE, and the level increased with increasing HAPE severity (P = 0.0036). A lower degree of cfDNA integrity of 0.346 in patients with HAPE (P = 0.001) indicated the prevalence of shorter cfDNA fragments in circulation in patients compared with the healthy HA sojourners. A significant correlation of cfDNA characteristics with the peripheral oxygen saturation levels in the patient group demonstrated the translational relevance of cfDNA molecules. The correlation was further supported by multivariate logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve. To our knowledge, our study is the first to highlight the association of higher cfDNA concentration, a lower degree of cfDNA integrity, and increased mitochondrial-derived cfDNA population with HAPE disease severity. Further deep profiling of cfDNA fragments, which preserves cell-type specific genetic and epigenetic features, can provide dynamic physiological responses to hypoxia.NEW & NOTEWORTHY This study observed altered cell-free (cf) DNA fragment patterns in patients with high-altitude pulmonary edema and the significant correlation of these patterns with peripheral oxygen saturation levels. This suggests deep profiling of cfDNA fragments in the future may identify genetic and epigenetic mechanisms underlying physiological and pathophysiological responses to hypoxia.

RESUMO

We report herein a redox neutral visible light-induced regioselective C(sp2)-H imidation of electron-rich arenes and heteroarenes using conceptually designed redox-active 1 as a source of the N-centered imidyl radical. Structurally diverse aromatic imides were obtained in moderate to good yields. This methodology has been successfully employed for the late stage imidation of complex molecules and has also been applied towards the formal total synthesis of the marine natural products carpatamides A, B and D. It has further been shown that the generated imides can easily be converted to the corresponding anilines in situ directly.

Copper and dysprosium doped NiFe2O4 magnetic nanomaterials, Ni1-xCuxDyyFe2-yO4 (x = y = 0.00, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03), was prepared by utilizing sol-gel auto-combustion approach to inspect the photodegradation of methylene blue (MB) pollutant and also, to perform the electrocatalytic water splitting and antibacterial studies. The XRD analysis reveal the growth of a single-phase spinel cubic structure for produced nanomaterials. The magnetic traits show an increasing trend in saturation magnetization (Ms) from 40.71 to 47.90 emu/g along with a decreasing behaviour of coercivity from 158.09 to 156.34 Oe at lower and higher Cu and Dy doping content (x = 0.0-0.01). The study of optical band gap values of copper and dysprosium-doped nickel nanomaterials decreased from 1.71 to 1.52 eV. This will increase the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue pollutant from 88.57% to 93.67% under natural sunlight, respectively. These findings clearly show that under natural sunlight irradiation for 60 min, the produced N4 photocatalyst displays the greatest photocatalytic activity with a maximum removal percentage of 93.67%. The electrocatalytic characteristics of produced magnetic nanomaterials for both HER and OER were examined with a Calomel electrode taking as a reference in a 0.5 N H2SO4 and 0.1 N KOH electrolyte. The N4 electrode demonstrated considerable 10 and 0.024 mA/cm2 of current density, with onset potentials of 0.99 and 1.5 V for HER and OER and also, have tafel slopes of 58.04 and 295 mV/dec, respectively. The antibacterial activity for produced magnetic nanomaterials was examined against various bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, S. typhi, and P. aeruginosa) in which N3 sample produced significant inhibition zone against gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus) but no zone of inhibition against gram-negative bacteria (S. typhi and P. aeruginosa). With all these superior traits, the produced magnetic nanomaterials are highly valuable for the wastewater remediation, hydrogen evolution, and biological applications.

Over the past several years, the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar (India) has witnessed recurrent outbreaks of acute encephalitis illness of unknown etiology, called acute encephalitis syndrome (AES) among young children, especially during the peak-summer season. Pesticide exposure, viral encephalitis, and litchi toxin intake have all been postulated as potential sources of the ailment. However, no conclusive etiology for AES has been identified in the affected children. During recent rounds of the outbreak, metabolic abnormalities have been documented in these children, and a direct correlation was observed between higher environmental temperature during the peak-summer month and AES caseload. The clinical and metabolic profiles of these children suggested the possible involvement of mitochondrial dysfunction during heat stress as one of the several contributory factors leading to multisystem metabolic derangement. The present study observed that mitochondrial function parameters such as cell death, mitochondrial membrane potential, oxidative stress, and mitochondrial pathway-related gene expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) isolated from children were affected in peak-summer when compared to post-summer months. Similar observations of mitochondrial function parameters along with impaired bioenergetic parameters were demonstrated in the heat-exposed model of PBMCs isolated from healthy adult individuals. In conclusion, the results suggested that there is an association of transient mitochondrial dysfunction when exposed to sustained heat during the summer months. One may consider mitochondrial dysfunction as one of the important factors leading to an outbreak of AES among the children from affected regions though this needs to be substantiated with further studies.

CONTEXT: Turmeric (Curcuma longa) is a common medicinal plant used in traditional medicine that also has been scientifically validated for its antioxidant, anti-arthritic, anticancer, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory properties. Researchers have still not much explored the beneficial effects of the curcuminoid-free portion of turmeric. NR-INF-02 is a proprietary, patented aqueous extract of Curcuma longa comprising turmerosaccharides with a novel phytochemical composition. OBJECTIVE: The study intended to evaluate the safety and tolerability of NR-INF-02 in healthy adult volunteers at doses of 1000 and 2000 mg, administered for 84 days. DESIGN: The study employed a randomized, open label, two-arm, parallel-group design. SETTING: The trial was carried at 2 sites, the Meenakshi Multispecialty Hospital in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and the Vijaya Super Specialty Hospital in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, India. PARTICIPANTS: Participants were healthy adult, male or female volunteers, aged 18-65 years with a body mass index of ≥18.5 kg/m2 and ≤ 24.9 kg/m2 and a body weight of at least 55 kg for men and 48 kg for women. INTERVENTION: Participants were randomly divided into 2 groups with 24 participants each for a total of 48 participants. They received either 1000 or 2000 mg of NR-INF-02 for 84 days. OUTCOME MEASURES: The incidence of adverse events and the changes from baseline in clinical laboratory parameters-including hematological, biochemical, and urinalysis parameters-were assessed at baseline, at day 42, and postintervention at day 84 as primary endpoints for safety. Secondary endpoints were the changes in vital signs and the difference in the results of an electrocardiogram (ECG) between baseline and days 42 and 84. RESULTS: The NR-INF-02 at doses of 1000 and 2000 mg demonstrated a 4.17% and 20.83% incidence of adverse events (AEs), respectively. The AEs were mild to moderate and were either probably or possibly related, but not definitively, related to treatment. A detailed examination of hematological, biochemical, and urological parameters and of ECG results and vital signs didn't indicate any untoward effects for any participant. CONCLUSION: The study found NR-INF-02 to be safe and tolerable at both tested doses for the given duration of the trial for healthy adult volunteers.

Thin-film material libraries in the ternary and quaternary metal oxide systems Fe-V-O, Cu-V-O, and Cu-Fe-V-O were synthesized using combinatorial reactive co-sputtering with subsequent annealing in air. Their compositional, structural, and functional properties were assessed using high-throughput characterization methods. Prior to the investigation of the quaternary system Cu-Fe-V-O, the compositions (Fe61V39)Ox and (Cu52V48)Ox with promising photoactivity were identified from their ternary subsystems Fe-V-O and Cu-V-O, respectively. Two Cu-Fe-V-O material libraries with (Cu29-72Fe4-27V22-57)Ox and (Cu11-55Fe27-73V12-34)Ox composition spread were investigated. Seven mixed ternary and quaternary phase regions were identified: I (α-Cu3FeV6O26/FeVO4), II (Cu5V2O10/FeVO4/α-Cu3Fe4V6O26), III (Cu5V2O10), IV (Cu5V2O10/FeVO4, V (FeVO4/γ-Cu2V2O7/α-Cu3Fe4V6O26), VI (ß-Cu2V2O7/α-Cu3Fe4V6O26/FeVO4), and VII (ß-Cu3Fe4V6O26/FeVO4). In the investigated composition range, two photoactive regions, (Cu53Fe7V40)Ox and (Cu45Fe21V34)Ox, were identified, exhibiting 103 µA/cm2 and 108 µA/cm2 photocurrent density for the oxygen evolution reaction at 1.63 V vs reversible hydrogen electrode, respectively. The highest photoactive region (Cu45Fe21V34)Ox comprises the dominant α-Cu3Fe4V6O24 phase and minor FeVO4 phase. This photoactive region corresponds to having an indirect bandgap of 1.87 eV and a direct bandgap of 2.58 eV with an incident photon-to-current efficiency of 30% at a wavelength of 310 nm.

The objective of the present study was to develop a rapid, simple, specific and sensitive Taqman-based real-time PCR assay for porcine sapelovirus (PSV) detection. Specific primers and probe were designed from the five untranslated regions (UTRs) of the viral genome. The detection limit of the real-time PCR was 102 copies. The specificity of the Taqman real-time PCR assay was evaluated using other animal viruses and nuclease free water as a negative control. Strong fluorescent signals were obtained only in the detection of PSV real-time PCR and conventional RT-PCR were preformed simultaneously on 90 faecal samples. Based on conventional RT-PCR study 17.7% (16/90) of the faecal samples were positive for PSV. Whereas 21 of 90 samples (23.3%) were positive by real-time RT-PCR. The results showed that real-time PCR was more sensitive than the conventional RT-PCR assay. In conclusion, the Taqman real-time PCR assay for detection of PSV developed, herein, is sensitive, specific, and reliable. This assay will be useful for clinical diagnosis, epidemiological, and pathogenesis studies.

The aim of the present study was to pathological and molecular investigation of porcine sapelovirus (PSV) in naturally infected Indian pigs of various age groups. Eight samples (16%) out of 49 necropsied animals were positive for PSV on the basis of pathological and molecular investigation. Major lesions of PSV positive cases were thickening and clouding of meninges, congestion in brain, severe to moderate congestion in lungs along with froathy exudates in trachea, thickening of intestinal mucosa, especially mucosal folds of ileum. Microscopic lesions of PSV positive cases in CNS were perivascular cuffing, neuronophagia and focal gliosis. In lungs, interstitial pneumonia was noticed in all cases, and intestinal lesions comprised of sloughing of villi epithelium, moderate to severe congestion of blood vessels and infiltration of mononuclear cells mainly plasma cells in both large and small intestine. RT-PCR results of total cases examined for PSV were targeted for PSV 3D Polymerase, 5'UTR region and VP1 gene respectively. Genetic characterization was done on the basis of viral capsid protein 1 (VP1) gene of PSV. The sequencing and phylogenetic analysis of amplified VP1 gene product showed maximum identity 85-90% with South Korean, KJ821021.1 and Indian, KY053835.1 strain of PSV. Further explorative surveillance and epidemiological studies are suggested to find out the real impact of this economically important disease affecting pigs population of India.

Applications of self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) on surfaces are prevalent in modern technologies and drives the need for a better understanding of the surface domain architecture of SAMs. To explore structural interaction at the interface between gold surfaces and a hydroxyl-terminated alkanethiol, 11-hydroxy-1-undecanethiol, (C11TH) we have employed a combined computational and experimental approach. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations were carried out on the thiol-gold interface using both the Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (PBE) and van der Waals (optB86b) density functionals. Our ab initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulations revealed that the interface consists of four different distinguished phases, each with different C11TH orientations. Experiments involved deposition of C11TH SAMs onto gold, with the resultant surfaces examined with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and ellipsometry. Weighted average projected density of states (PDOS) of the different phases were photoionization cross section corrected and these were confirmed by experimental XPS data. Computed molecular parameters including tilt angles and the thickness of SAMs also agreed with the XPS and ellipsometry results. Hydrogen bonding arising from the terminal hydroxyl groups is the primary factor governing the stability of the four phases. Experimental results from XPS and ellipsometry along with DFT simulation results provide insights into the formation of the different orientations of SAM on Au(111) which will guide future efforts in the self-assembled SAMs architecture for other thiols or metal substrates.

We investigated immunohistochemical detection of porcine Sapelovirus (PSV) in naturally infected pigs of different ages. Forty-nine fecal samples, intestinal contents and other tissue samples from dead pigs were screened in previous study using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) for PSV infection. Eight animals were positive for PSV based on RT-PCR examination. Gross lesions were recorded mainly in the large and small intestines. Microscopic examination of intestines showed severe enteritis. Tissue sections of all organs from PSV positive animals were immunostained using hyperimmune serum raised in rats against PSV that had been grown in a BHK-21 cell line. Staining of PSV was found only in the large and small intestines.

The impact of gamma irradiation on growth and physiology of Euryale ferox was described in the present investigation. E. ferox is an underutilized aquatic food crop that grows in shallow-water bodies in lower Assam regions and north Bihar of India. The seeds of E. ferox were irradiated with different doses of gamma irradiation ranging from 0 to 500 Gy. It was observed that the germination and survival percentage was inhibited by increasing the irradiation dose. However, plants developed from seed exposed to an irradiation dose beyond 100 Gy did not survive more than 1 month. Further growth parameters (leaf size and number, number of thorns, root number and length, and number of flower and seeds) were also compared with respect to non-irradiated plants. Physiological parameters, viz. chlorophyll a, chlorophyll b, total chlorophyll, photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and intracellular CO2 content was higher in the irradiation population of E. ferox. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and ascorbate peroxidase (APX) activities were observed low in irradiated population of E. ferox. The proline and glycine betaine content was enhanced with increasing the irradiation dose. The present investigation explores the potential use of gamma rays in genetic improvement of E. ferox and improves understanding of the physiological responses inflicted by gamma irradiation.

AIMS: Programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), a potential target for immune checkpoint inhibitors in various solid neoplasms, has been studied in very few cases of Gall Bladder Carcinoma (GBC). The current study aimed to evaluate PD-L1 expression at primary and metastatic sites of GBC, and its associations with standard prognostic clinicopathological parameters, as well as with overall survival. METHODS AND RESULTS: One hundred and seventy-four cases of GBC were evaluated for PD-L1 expression by the use of the SP263 clone in tissue microarrays. Clinicopathological characteristics and survival data were correlated with PD-L1 expression analysed at different cut-offs of ≥1%, ≥10% and ≥50% in tumour cells and tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). The mean age of patients was 49.9 years, and the male/female ratio was 1:2.9. Of the cases, 73.6% presented with stage 3/4 disease. Tumour cells expressed PD-L1 in 23.0% of cases, and TILs expressed PD-L1 in 24.1% of cases. At a cut-off of 10%, 14.9% of cases expressed PD-L1, and at a cut-off of 50%, 7.5% of cases expressed PD-L1. Significant associations were seen between tumour proportion score and histological type (P = 0.004), histological grade (P = 0.004), nuclear grade (P = 0.008), nodal metastasis (P = 0.051), higher stage (P = 0.058), and TILs (P < 0.001). Tumour size, growth pattern, the presence of necrosis and lymphovascular emboli showed no significant associations with PD-L1 in tumour cells or TILs. In synchronous paired samples from primary and metastatic lymph nodes, discordantly higher PD-L1 expression was evident in lymph nodes. Overall survival was not associated with PD-L1 expression (P = 0.546). CONCLUSION: PD-L1 does not appear to be a prognostic marker or influence survival in GBC patients. However, PD-L1 expression occurs in one of four GBCs, supporting the future possibility of immune-modulation therapy to improve the dismal overall survival.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES: Biopsy of palpable breast masses can be performed manually by palpation guidance or under imaging guidance. Based on retrospective studies, image guided biopsy is considered more accurate than palpation guided breast biopsy; however, these techniques have not been compared prospectively. We conducted this prospective study to verify the superiority and determine the size of beneficial effect of image guided biopsy over palpation guided biopsy. METHODS: Over a period of 18 months, 36 patients each with palpable breast masses were randomized into palpation guided and image guided breast biopsy arms. Ultrasound was used for image guidance in 33 patients and mammographic (stereotactic) guidance in three patients. All biopsies were performed using 14 gauge automated core biopsy needles. Inconclusive, suspicious or imaging-histologic discordant biopsies were repeated. RESULTS: Malignancy was found in 30 of 36 women in palpation guided biopsy arm and 27 of 36 women in image guided biopsy arm. Palpation guided biopsy had sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) and negative predictive value (NPV) of 46.7, 100, 100, 27.3 per cent, respectively, for diagnosing breast cancer. Nineteen of 36 women (52.8%) required repeat biopsy because of inadequate samples (7 of 19), suspicious findings (2 of 19) or imaging-histologic discordance (10 of 19). On repeat biopsy, malignancy was found in all cases of imaging-histologic discordance. Image guided biopsy had 96.3 per cent sensitivity and 100 per cent specificity. There was no case of inadequate sample or imaging-histologic discordance with image guided biopsy. INTERPRETATION & CONCLUSIONS: Our results showed that in palpable breast masses, image guided biopsy was superior to palpation guided biopsy in terms of sensitivity, false negative rate and repeat biopsy rates.

In cultured meat (CM) production, Scaffolding plays an important role by aiding cell adhesion, growth, differentiation, and alignment. The existence of fibrous microstructure in connective and muscle tissues has attracted considerable interest in the realm of tissue engineering and triggered the interest of researchers to implement scaffolding techniques. A wide array of research efforts is ongoing in scaffolding technologies for achieving the real meat structure on the principality of biomedical research and to replace serum free CM production. Scaffolds made of animal-derived biomaterials are found efficient in replicating the extracellular matrix (ECM), thus focus should be paid to utilize animal byproducts for this purpose. Proper identification and utilization of plant-derived scaffolding biomaterial could be helpful to add diversified options in addition to animal derived sources and reduce in cost of CM production through scaffolds. Furthermore, techniques like electrospinning, modified electrospinning and 3D bioprinting should be focused on to create 3D porous scaffolds to mimic the ECM of the muscle tissue and form real meat-like structures. This review discusses recent advances in cutting edge scaffolding techniques and edible biomaterials related to structured CM production.

The projected growth of global meat production over the next decade is attributed to rising income levels and population expansion. One potentially more pragmatic approach to mitigating the adverse externalities associated with meat production involves implementing alterations to the production process, such as transitioning to cultured meat, hybrid cultured meat, and meat alternatives. Cultured meat (CM) is derived from animal stem cells and undergoes a growth and division process that closely resembles the natural in vivo cellular development. CM is emerging as a widely embraced substitute for traditional protein sources, with the potential to alleviate the future strain on animal-derived meat production. To date, the primary emphasis of cultured meat research and production has predominantly been around the ecological advantages and ethical considerations pertaining to animal welfare. However, there exists substantial study potential in exploring consumer preferences with respect to the texture, color, cuts, and sustainable methodologies associated with cultured meat. The potential augmentation of cultured meat's acceptance could be facilitated through the advancement of a wider range of cuts to mimic real muscle fibers. This review examines the prospective commercial trends of hybrid cultured meat. Subsequently, the present state of research pertaining to the advancement of scaffolding, coloration, and muscle fiber development in hybrid cultured meat, encompassing plant-based alternatives designed to emulate authentic meat, has been deliberated. However, this discussion highlights the obstacles that have arisen in current procedures and proposes future research directions for the development of sustainable cultured meat and meat alternatives, such as plant-based meat production.

Restructured meat (RM) products are gaining importance as an essential component of the meat industry due to consumers' interest in health benefits. RM products imply the binding or holding of meat, meat by-products, and vegetable proteins together to form a meat product with meat's sensory and textural properties. RM products provide consumers with diversified preferences like the intake of low salt, low fat, antioxidants, and high dietary fiber in meat products. From the point of environmental sustainability, RM may aid in combining underutilized products and low-valued meat by adequately utilizing them instead of dumping them as waste material. RM processing technique might also help develop diversified and new hybrid meat products. It is crucial to have more knowledge on the quality issues, selection of binding agents, their optimum proportion, and finally, the ideal processing techniques. It is observed in this study that the most crucial feature of RM could be its healthy products with reduced fat content, which aligns with the preferences of health-conscious consumers who seek low-fat, low-salt, high-fiber options with minimal synthetic additives. This review briefly overviews RM and the factors affecting the quality and shelf life. Moreover, it discusses the recent studies on binding agents in processing RM products. Nonetheless, the recent advancements in processing and market scenarios have been summarized to better understand future research needs. The purpose of this review was to bring light to the ways of sustainable and economical food production.

The field of nanotechnology has the mysterious capacity to reform every subject it touches. Nanotechnology advancements have already altered a variety of scientific and industrial fields. Nanoparticles (NPs) with sizes ranging from 1 to 100 nm (nm) are of great scientific and commercial interest. Their functions and characteristics differ significantly from those of bulk metal. Commercial quantities of NPs are synthesized using chemical or physical methods. The use of the physical and chemical approaches remained popular for many years; however, the recognition of their hazardous effects on human well-being and conditions influenced serious world perspectives for the researchers. There is a growing need in this field for simple, non-toxic, clean, and environmentally safe nanoparticle production methods to reduce environmental impact and waste and increase energy productivity. Microbial nanotechnology is relatively a new field. Using various microorganisms, a wide range of nanoparticles with well-defined chemical composition, morphology, and size have been synthesized, and their applications in a wide range of cutting-edge technological areas have been investigated. Green synthesis of the nanoparticles is cost-efficient and requires low maintenance. The present review highlights the synthesis of the nanoparticles by different microbes, their characterization, and their biotechnological potential. It further deals with the applications in biomedical, food, and textile industries as well as its role in biosensing, waste recycling, and biofuel production.

Key Clinical Message: We present the case of a rare obstetric emergency, which is usually fatal. Our case highlights suspicion of AFLP in patients presenting with jaundice in the third trimester with good maternal and fetal outcomes after a timely intervention. Abstract: Acute fatty liver of pregnancy (AFLP) is a rare, obstetric emergency characterized by maternal liver dysfunction that can lead to maternal and fetal complications. We report a case of 28-year-old primigravida 39 weeks gestation diagnosed with AFLP complicated by coagulopathy with good maternal and fetal outcomes after a timely intervention.

Circulating free DNA (cfDNA) is in use for the non-invasive diagnosis of tumors. Methylation of tumor suppressor genes (TSGs) is an early event in carcinogenesis and may serve as tumor biomarker. We have investigated cfDNA integrity and methylation of tumor suppressor genes P16, DAPK and RASSF1A in serum cfDNA of oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) comparing paired serum and tumor tissue samples to evaluate their diagnostic use. Prospective case-control study, paired serum and tissue samples from 56 OPSCC, and 15 normal controls (NC). Sybr green Quantitate real time PCR was used for cfDNA quantification through amplification ALU 115 and 247 fragments. Promoter methylation of was analyzed in paired samples using methylation specific PCR. There was significantly high cfDNA integrity in OPSCC compared to normal control (p = < 0.0001). The cfDNA integrity values were significantly higher and associated with nodal status (p = 0.016). The AUC for cfDNA integrity was 0.967. The P16, DAPK and RASSF1 promoters were significantly hypermethylated in serum of OPSCC compared to NC with high concordance in tissue (up to 96.55 %). The gene promoter methylation of P16 was associated with smoking (p = 0.030), RASSF1A with stage (p = 0.011). The combination of ALU115 with cfDNA integrity and combination of gene methylation increases diagnostic sensitivity. In followup samples the cfDNA change was not different. Liquid biopsy approach including cfDNA integrity, methylation profiling in cfDNA, in combination or separately can assist in the diagnosis of OPSCC along with radio diagnostic scan. Serum changes represent changes in tissue with very high concordance.

RESUMO

Pheochromocytoma is often diagnosed prior to pregnancy. Sometimes, the disease may be diagnosed for the first-time during pregnancy masking itself as a hypertensive disease in pregnancy. Early diagnosis and timely, appropriate management reduce possible maternal and fetal complications. We identified a case of pheochromocytoma during pregnancy misdiagnosed as preeclampsia.
