RESUMO

Objective: To establish and validate a prediction model for early-stage epithelial ovarian cancer based on least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression. Methods: A total of 509 cases ovarian mass patients who underwent surgical treatment in Tianjin Medical General Hospital from January 2018 to March 2023 were retrospectively analyzed. The patients were randomly divided into modeling group [n=356, M(Q1,Q3) for age were 43 (31, 61) years] and internal validation group [n=153, age 42 (31, 60) years] by 7∶3 ratio. In addition, 86 patients [age 44 (33, 61) years] who underwent surgical treatment for ovarian mass in Tianjin Medical University General Hospital from April to November 2023 were collected as external validation group. The variables were screened by LASSO regression. The nomogram model was established and plotted by multivariate logistic regression. Internal and external validation were then conducted. The model performance and clinical applicability were evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve, calibration curve and decision curve. Results: Five variables including age (OR=1.040,95%CI:1.000-1.050,P=0.002), carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125) (OR=1.001, 95%CI: 1.000-1.010, P=0.017), human epididymis protein 4 (HE4) (OR=1.020, 95%CI: 1.000-1.030, P=0.002), carbohydrate antigen 199 (CA199) (OR=1.001, 95%CI:1.000-1.020, P=0.023) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (OR=1.020, 95%CI: 1.010-1.022, P=0.001) were screened as risk factors for early-stage epithelial ovarian cancer. The nomogram model was constructed based on these above five risk factors to predict early-stage epithelial ovarian cancer. ROC curves showed the area under curve (AUC) were 0.915(95%CI:0.910-0.932)for modeling group, 0.891(95%CI:0.874-0.905) for internal validation group, and 0.924(95%CI:0.907-0.942) for external verification. The calibration curves and clinical decision curves showed the model exhibited good consistency and clinical practicability. Conclusions: The nomogram model built includes age, CA125, HE4, CA199, and LDH. It can effectively predict early-stage epithelial ovarian cancer and has strong clinical practicability.

RESUMO

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in diabetes mellitus includes diabetic kidney disease (DKD), non-diabetic kidney disease (NDKD) or a combination of NDKD and DKD. The clinical and renal pathological manifestations of DKD in type 1 diabetes are different from those in type 2 diabetes. Renal biopsy histopathology is the gold standard for distinguishing DKD from NDKD. However, based on the same pathological diagnosis, DKD patients may still have different disease progression and prognosis due to individual differences in molecular biological mechanisms. Metabonomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and artificial intelligence offer hope for biomarkers to diagnose and predict the progress of DKD.

RESUMO

To study the effect of Wharton's jelly-derived mesenchymal stem cells (WJMSCs) on the rat salpingitis model, 50 female Wistar rats were randomly divided into one control and five model groups. Mixed bacteria were injected into the oviducts of model groups. The treated acute and chronic groups received intraperitoneal injections of WJMSCs (1 x 10(6)) once a week for three weeks. Serum inflammation factor, collagen fiber content and oviduct-specific glycoprotein (OVGP) levels were detected in control, chronic, ex-treatment acute and chronic, and treated acute and chronic groups (N = 5 for each group). Pregnancy rate and litter size of control, chronic, treated acute and treated chronic groups were compared. Serum TNF-α and INF-γ levels increased in ex-treatment acute and chronic groups, and restored to normal in the acute treated group but not in the treated chronic group. Oviduct collagen fibers did not increase significantly before or after treatment in the acute group, but it increased in the ex-treatment chronic group and did not improve after treatment. After treatment, OVGP levels restored to normal in the acute group but reduced in the ex-treatment and treated chronic groups and chronic group. The pregnancy rate and litter size of the treated acute group recovered to normal, but in the treated chronic group and chronic model group, they decreased significantly. Thus, intraperitoneal injection of WJMSCs could recover the function of the oviduct in acute salpingitis rats, but its effect on chronic salpingitis was poor. Timely treatment of salpingitis is crucial to preserve reproductive function.

RESUMO

Objective:To analyze the causes, imaging diagnosis, clinical characteristics and clinical effect of the endoscopic surgery of non-invasive fungal rhino-sinusitis.Method:A retrospective analysis of 48 patients diagnosed with fungal sinusitis by pathology.Result:Forty-eight cases of 40 cases are fungal sinusitis (40/48), the other 8 cases are allergic fungal rhinosinusitis. The two morphology, imaging, histopathology, treatment and outcome are not the same, more than half of the CT scan and endoscopic examination, have different degrees of anatomical abnormalities (26/28), 25 cases had a long-term frequent using of antibiotics. Postoperative follow-up 1-3 years, cured 43 cases, recurrence 5 cases, which has been cured after re-surgery and other comprehensive treatment. Conclusion: Nasal cavity anatomical abnormalities and the frequent use of antibiotics is closely related to the attack of fungal sinusitis. Sinus CT scane and nasal endoscopy is an important method for the diagnosis of fungal sinusitis, and endoscopic sinus surgery is an effective method of fungal sinusitis. The recurrence rate of allergic fungal sinusitis was higher (5/8), so comprehensive treatment was an importance measure to prevent recurrence. Caution with antibiotics and hormones is to prevent fungal sinusitis occurred in a factor that can not be ignored.

RESUMO

With Monte Carlo simulations, we investigate short-time critical dynamics of the three-dimensional antiferromagnetic Ising model with a globally conserved magnetization m(s) (not the order parameter). From the power law behavior of the staggered magnetization (the order parameter), its second moment and the autocorrelation, we determine all static and dynamic critical exponents as well as the critical temperature. The universality class of m(s)=0 is the same as that without a conserved quantity, but the universality class of nonzero m(s) is different.

RESUMO

With Monte Carlo simulations we investigate the nonequilibrium critical dynamic behavior of the two-dimensional random-bond Ising model. Based on the short-time dynamic scaling form, we estimate all the static and dynamic exponents from dynamic processes starting with both disordered and ordered states. Corrections to scaling are carefully considered.
