Ulcerative colitis (UC) is associated with changed dietary habits and mainly linked with the gut microbiota dysbiosis, necroptosis of epithelial cells, and mucosal ulcerations. Liver dysfunction and abnormal level of liver metabolism indices were identified in UC patients, suggesting a close interaction between gut and liver disorders. Methionine-choline deficient diet (MCD) has been shown to induce persistent alterations of gut microbiota and metabolome during hepatitis. In this study we further explored the disease phenotypes in UC patients and investigated whether MCD functioned as a trigger for UC susceptibility. After assessing 88 serum specimens from UC patients, we found significant liver dysfunction and dyslipidemia including abnormal ALT, AST, TG, TC, LDL-c and HDL-c. Liver dysfunction and dyslipidemia were confirmed in DSS-induced colitis mice. We fed mice with MCD for 14 days to cause mild liver damage, and then treated with DSS for 7 days. We found that MCD intake significantly exacerbated the pathogenesis of mucosal inflammation in DSS-induced acute, progressive, and chronic colitis, referring to promotion of mucosal ulcers, colon shortening, diarrhea, inflammatory immune cell infiltration, cytokines release, and abnormal activation of inflammatory macrophages in colon and liver specimens. Intraperitoneal injection of clodronate liposomes to globally delete macrophages dramatically compromised the pathogenesis of MCD-triggering colitis. In addition, MCD intake markedly changed the production pattern of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in murine stools, colons, and livers. We demonstrated that MCD-induced colitis pathogenesis largely depended on the gut microbes and the disease phenotypes could be transmissible through fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT). In conclusion, this study supports the concept that intake of MCD predisposes to experimental colitis and enhances its pathogenesis via modulating gut microbes and macrophages in mice.

Dry eye disease (DED) is a prevalent ocular disorder with a multifactorial etiology. The pre-angiogenic and pre-inflammatory milieu of the ocular surface plays a critical role in its pathogenesis. DZ2002 is a reversible type III S-adenosyl-L-homocysteine hydrolase (SAHH) inhibitor, which has shown excellent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive activities in vivo and in vitro. In this study, we evaluated the therapeutic potential of DZ2002 in rodent models of DED. SCOP-induced dry eye models were established in female rats and mice, while BAC-induced dry eye model was established in female rats. DZ2002 was administered as eye drops (0.25%, 1%) four times daily (20 µL per eye) for 7 or 14 consecutive days. We showed that topical application of DZ2002 concentration-dependently reduced corneal neovascularization and corneal opacity, as well as alleviated conjunctival irritation in both DED models. Furthermore, we observed that DZ2002 treatment decreased the expression of genes associated with angiogenesis and the levels of inflammation in the cornea and conjunctiva. Moreover, DZ2002 treatment in the BAC-induced DED model abolished the activation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-κB pathways in corneal tissues. We also found that DZ2002 significantly inhibited the proliferation, migration, and tube formation of human umbilical endothelial cells (HUVECs) while downregulating the activation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-κB pathway. These results suggest that DZ2002 exerts a therapeutic effect on corneal angiogenesis in DED, potentially by preventing the upregulation of the STAT3-PI3K-Akt-NF-κB pathways. Collectively, DZ2002 is a promising candidate for ophthalmic therapy, particularly in treating DED.

STUDY OBJECTIVE: To prospectively investigate whether the application of vaginal repair (VR) of cesarean section scar defect (CSD) combined with a gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRHa) achieve better clinical outcomes than VR alone. DESIGN: A randomized clinical trial. SETTING: University hospital. PATIENTS: A total of 124 women with CSD were undergoing expectant management from December 2016 to September 2021. 61 were randomised to VR+ GnRHa and 63 to VR alone. INTERVENTION: Vaginal repair combined with GnRHa and vaginal repair alone. MEASURES AND MAIN RESULTS: The primary outcome was the duration of menstruation and thickness of the remaining muscular layer (TRM) at 6 months after surgery. Secondary outcomes included the length, width and depth of the CSD; operation time; estimated blood loss; hospitalization time; and operative complications. Women were treated with either VR (n = 63) or VR + GnRHa (n = 61). Menstruation and TRM in patients pre. vs. post comparisons either with VR or VR + GnRHa are significant improved (P < .05). Significant differences in menstruation duration and TRM occurred in patients treated with VR + GnRHa compared with those treated with VR (P < .05). Moreover, the rate of CSD after surgery in the VR group was significantly higher than that in the VR + GnRHa group (P = .033), and CSD patients in the VR + GnRHa group achieved better therapeutic effects than those in the VR group (P = .017). Patients who received VR + GnRHa had a shorter menstruation duration and a greater increment of TRM postoperatively than did patients treated with VR alone (P = .021; P = .002, respectively). CONCLUSION: VR + GnRHa therapy has a greater potential to improve scar healing and reduce the number of menstruation days than VR alone for symptomatic women with CSD. Based on the growth-promoting effect of plant growth promoting bacteria on plants and the mobilization of Cd by citric acid, an experiment was designed in which the combined treatment of Bacillus megaterium and citric acid promoted ryegrass to repair Cd-contaminated soil. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different treatments on the antioxidant enzyme activity, photosynthesis intensity, Cd accumulation, and rhizosphere cadmium migration under cadmium contamination conditions. And the soil morphology and structure changes were studied by infrared spectroscopy FourierTransformInfrared(FT-IR) and scanning electron microscope Energy Dispersive Spectrometer(SEM-EDS) before and after different treatments. The results show that the combined treatment of Bacillus megaterium and citric acid significantly improved the oxidative stress defense and plant photosynthesis and increased of rye biomass. rye biomass 1.28 times higher than CK treatment. Joint treatment significantly increased the amount of shoot accumulation of Cd, 2.31 times higher than CK treatment, increased the migration and accumulation of cadmium. FTIR and SEM-EDS also showed that the organic constituents such as O-H, C-O and C-N in soils as a major mechanism for mobilization of the heavy metal Cd. Thus, the combined treatment of Bacillus megaterium and citric acid can promote plant growth, improve the damage to ryegrass caused by single organic acid addition, and improve the plant extraction efficiency, which is a feasible way to repair Cd-contaminated soil through activated extraction system.


The novelty of this study is the combined application of bacteria and chelating agents to ryegrass to improve phytoremediation efficiency. Bacillus giganosus has a good role in promoting the growth of ryegrass. As citrate, a small molecule chelate, can activate heavy metal cadmium and detoxify heavy metals, so it was selected. This study revealed in detail the response of ryegrass to the heavy metal Cd after exogenous addition of Bacillus gigansus and citrate, which is important for the application of cadmium removal by phytoremediation.

Different poplar varieties vary in their tolerance to certain pathogens. However, knowledge about molecular regulation and critical responses of resistant poplars during pathogen infection remains scarce. To investigate adaptive responses to canker disease caused by the bacterium Lonsdalea populi, we screened three poplar varieties with contrasting tolerance, including Populus deltoides. 'Zhonglin 2025' (2025), Populus × Euramericana. '74/76' (107) and Populus tomentosa cv 'henan' (P. tomentosa). Transcriptomic analysis revealed significant changes in the expression levels of defence-related genes in different poplar varieties in response to infection, which reshaped the PTI and ETI processes. Intriguingly, photosynthesis-related genes were found to be highly expressed in the resistant variety, whereas the opposite was observed in the susceptible variety. Susceptible poplars maintained the activation of defence-related genes during early period of onset, which restricted the expression of photosynthesis-related and auxin signal-related genes. Furthermore, combined with metabolomic analysis, differences in the content of antibacterial substances and key differentially expressed genes in phenylpropane and flavonoid biosynthesis pathways were identified. Delayed induction of catechin in the susceptible variety and it's in vitro antibacterial activity were considered to be one of the important reasons for the differences in resistance to L. populi compared with the resistant variety, which is of practical interest for tree breeding. Moreover, the trade-off between growth and defence observed among the three poplar varieties during infection provides new insights into the multilevel regulatory circuits in tree-pathogen interactions.

Soil microorganisms play key roles in soil nutrient transformations and have a notable effect on plant growth and health. Different plant genotypes can shape soil microbial patterns via the secretion of root exudates and volatiles, but it is uncertain how a difference in soil microorganisms induced by crop cultivars will respond to short-term seasonal variations. A field experiment was conducted to assess the changes in soil bacterial communities of seven rhizoma peanut (Arachis glabrata Benth, RP) cultivars across two growing seasons, April (Spring season) and October (Fall season). Soils' bacterial communities were targeted using 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. Bacterial community diversity and taxonomic composition among rhizoma peanut cultivars were significantly affected by seasons, cultivars, and their interactions (p < 0.05). Alpha diversity, as estimated by the OTU richness and Simpson index, was around onefold decrease in October than in April across most of the RP cultivars, while the soils from Arblick and Latitude had around one time higher alpha diversity in both seasons compared with other cultivars. Beta diversity differed significantly in April (R = 0.073, p < 0.01) and October (R = 0.084, p < 0.01) across seven cultivars. Bacterial dominant taxa (at phylum and genus level) were strongly affected by seasons and varied towards more dominant groups that have functional potentials involved in nutrient cycling from April to October. A large shift in water availability induced by season variations in addition to host cultivar's effects can explain the observed patterns in diversity, composition, and co-occurrence of bacterial taxa. Overall, our results demonstrate an overriding effect of short-term seasonal variations on soil bacterial communities associated with different crop cultivars. The findings suggest that season-induced shifts in environmental conditions could exert stronger impacts on soil microorganisms than the finer-scale rhizosphere effect from crop cultivars, and consequently influence largely microbe-mediated soil processes and crop health in agricultural ecosystems.

BACKGROUND: Impaired renal function was not a recognized indication for renal biopsy. The effects of receiving renal biopsy on the renal functional prognosis for chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients with impaired renal function need to be explored. METHODS: This study retrospectively enrolled 300 renal function impaired CKD patients in Renji Hospital from January 2015 to December 2017, 150 of them received percutaneous renal biopsy while the others did not. The endpoint was ≥ 50% estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) decline from baseline or development of end-stage renal disease (ESRD). Kaplan-Meier analysis with log-rank test was performed to compare the renal survival probability between patients receiving renal biopsy or not. Univariate and multivariate analysis with Cox regression were conducted with predictors of poor renal outcomes in the study cohort. RESULTS: The median follow-up period was 37.6 months. During the follow-up period, the eGFR of the biopsy group increased from 52.2 ± 14.4 to 67.4 ± 37.8 ml/min/1.73 m², but decreased from 55.3 ± 17.1 to 29.8 ± 19.1 ml/min/1.73 m² in the non-biopsy group. Patients who received renal biopsy had significantly higher renal survival probability (P < 0.001). Cox regression analysis revealed that 24-hour urine protein excretion (24 h UPE) more than 1 g/d was an independent predictor for poor renal outcomes in the non-biopsy group but not in the renal biopsy group (HR = 1.719, P = 0.040). CONCLUSION: CKD patients with impaired renal function are recommended to receive renal biopsy to make pathological diagnoses, especially for those with the 24-hour urine protein excretion more than 1 g/d.

With the increase in cadmium (Cd) release into the environment, it is necessary to find appropriate solutions to reduce soil Cd pollution. Microorganisms are a green and effective means for the remediation of Cd-contaminated soil. In this study, in a Cd-contaminated farmland, we screened and identified novel Cd-resistant strains, Paenarthrobactor nitroguajacolicus, Lysinibacillus fusiformis, Bacillus licheniformis, and Methyllobacium brachiatum, with minimum inhibitory concentrations of 100, 100, 50, and 50 mg/L, respectively, and added them each to pots containing Cd-contaminated rape plants to explore their remediation ability. The results showed that treatment with each of the four strains significantly increased the abundance of Nitrospirae, Firmicutes, Verrucomicrobia, and Patescibacterium in the rhizosphere soil of the plants. This led to changes in soil physical and chemical indices; pH; and available phosphorus, urease, and catalase activities, which were significantly negatively correlated with bioavailable Cd, reducing 28.74-58.82 % Cd enrichment to plants and 23.72-43.79 % Cd transport within plants, and reducing 5.52-10.68 % available cadmium in soil, effectively reducing the biotoxicity of Cd. Thus, this study suggests microbial remediation as a reliable option, forming a basis for the remediation of Cd-contaminated soil.

INTRODUCTION: Hepatitis B virus-associated glomerulonephritis (HBV-GN) is one of the main types of secondary glomerular diseases, and podocyte injury is an important pathogenic mechanism of HBV-GN, participating in the occurrence and development of HBV-GN. However, the specific mechanism of podocyte injury remains to be studied. METHODS: Human renal podocytes cultured in vitro were divided into six groups. The podocyte morphology was observed under a transmission electron microscope, and the expression of M-type phospholipase A2 receptor (M-PLA2R) on the podocyte membrane was observed by indirect immunofluorescence staining under a fluorescence microscope. The pyroptosis rate and reactive oxygen species (ROS) of podocytes were assessed by FLICA/PI double staining and flow cytometry. Western blot (WB) and quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) were used to determine the expression of PLA2R, nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3), apoptosis-associated speck-like protein containing card (ASC), caspase-1, IL-1ß, and IL-18. RESULTS: Hepatitis B virus X (HBx) transfected into human renal podocytes in vitro induced the overexpression of PLA2R. Moreover, the overexpressed PLA2R combined with secretory phospholipase A2 group IB (sPLA2-IB) aggravated podocyte injury and increased the pyroptosis rate. In addition, the expression of ROS, the NLRP3 inflammasome and downstream inflammatory factors was increased. In contrast, after inhibiting the expression of PLA2R and ROS, podocyte damage was alleviated, and the pyroptosis rate and the expression of genes related to the ROS-NLRP3 signaling pathway were decreased. CONCLUSION: HBx-induced PLA2R overexpression on the podocyte membrane can significantly upregulate the ROS-NLRP3 signaling pathway, thereby mediating podocyte pyroptosis.

The investigation of third-order nonlinear optical (NLO) properties of coordination polymers (CPs) based on solid samples is very difficult but is crucial for practical applications. Herein, we show a method for preparing high optical quality CP films in a polymer matrix to study the third-order NLO performance of solid-state CPs. Two novel azobenzene-based CPs, [CdL(DMAc)(H2O)]n (1) and {[CuL(4,4'-azobpy)]·3H2O}n (2) (H2L = 5-((4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenoxy)methyl)isophthalic acid), were selected as study subjects. The corresponding microcrystals with a grain size of around 3 µm were doped into poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA), forming CP films (1-MC/PVA and 2-MC/PVA). 1-MC/PVA and 2-MC/PVA exhibit NLO absorption switching behavior from saturable absorption (SA) to reverse saturable absorption (RSA) with increasing pulse energy. Moreover, their NLO properties can also be efficiently modulated by photostimulation energy due to the trans → cis isomerization of an azobenzene moiety. The density functional theory (DFT) results show that the narrower the band gap between the conduction band minimum and the valence band maximum, the denser the electron density distribution in the central mental and coordination atoms, which is beneficial to exhibit better third-order NLO performance. This work provides a feasible method for the wider practical application of solid materials with excellent third-order NLO performance.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and its related protein, HBV X (HBx), play an important role in podocyte injury in HBV-associated glomerulonephritis (HBV-GN). The microRNA MiR-223 is expressed in several diseases, including HBV-associated disease, while the nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain-like receptor protein 3 (NLRP3) inflammasome plays a major role in pyroptosis. In this study, we investigated the function and mechanism of action of miR-223 in HBx-induced podocyte pyroptosis. A quantitative real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) assay showed that miR-223 was downregulated in HBx-transfected podocytes. Transfection with an miR-223 mimic abolished the expression of the NLRP3 inflammasome and the cytokines that are released as a result of NLRP3 overexpression. Moreover, transfection with HBx and NLRP3 overexpression plasmids increased the expression of pyroptosis-related proteins, especially in the presence of miR-223 inhibitors. Thus, miR-223 downregulation plays an important role in HBx-induced podocyte pyroptosis by targeting the NLRP3 inflammasome, suggesting that miR-223 is a potential therapeutic target for alleviating HBV-GN inflammation.

Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a life-threatening chronic connective tissue disease with the characteristics of skin fibrosis, vascular injury, and inflammatory infiltrations. Though inhibition of phosphodiesterase 4 (PDE4) has been turned out to be an effective strategy in suppressing inflammation through promoting the accumulation of intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), little is known about the functional modes of inhibiting PDE4 by apremilast on the process of SSc. The present research aimed to investigate the therapeutic effects and underlying mechanism of apremilast on SSc. Herein, we found that apremilast could markedly ameliorate the pathological manifestations of SSc, including skin dermal thickness, deposition of collagens, and increased expression of α-SMA. Further study demonstrated that apremilast suppressed the recruitment and activation of macrophages and T cells, along with the secretion of inflammatory cytokines, which accounted for the effects of apremilast on modulating the pro-fibrotic processes. Interestingly, apremilast could dose-dependently inhibit the activation of M1 and T cells in vitro through promoting the phosphorylation of CREB. In summary, our research suggested that inhibiting PDE4 by apremilast might provide a novel therapeutic option for clinical treatment of SSc patients.

RESUMO

During a survey of soil fungal diversity in a rocky desertification area in Yunnan Province, China, a new dematiaceous hyphomycete, Cordana yunnanensis was identified. Morphologically, this species is characterized by macronematous, mononematous conidiophores with discrete, polyblastic conidiogenous cells arranged in a whorl at the apices. Phylogenetic analysis of the combined sequences of the internal transcribed spacer and the large nuclear ribosomal RNA subunit confirmed the phylogenetic position of C. yunnanensis within the genus Cordana, in Cordanaceae.

Primary SjÓ§gren's syndrome (pSS) is an autoimmune-mediated, inflammatory, and systemic connective tissue disease (CTD), especially in middle-aged women, which often involves multiple systems and organs of the body. In fact, the heart is an important target organ in patients with pSS. In recent years, it has been confirmed that the morbidity of cardiac involvement has increased in patients with pSS, and cardiovascular disease (CVD) is one of the main causes of death. The increased risk of CVD in pSS patients is associated with a great variety of risk factors, such as age, gender, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, dyslipidemia, disease duration, extra-glandular manifestations, therapeutic drugs of pSS, and so on. Early recognition and effective treatment of CVD may play a crucial role in improving adverse cardiovascular prognosis. Whereas cardiac involvement is closely related to patient prognosis and survival, the cardiac involvement of patients with pSS remains poorly studied. Therefore, this article reviews the cardiovascular risk factors, clinical manifestations of cardiac involvement, cardiovascular biomarkers, and therapeutic strategies of pSS patients.

Non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) play essential roles in plants by modulating the expression of genes at the transcriptional or post-transcriptional level. In recent years, ncRNAs have been recognized as crucial regulators for growth and development in forest trees, and ncRNAs that respond to various abiotic stresses are now under intense study. In this review, we summarized recent advances in the understanding of abiotic stress-responsive microRNAs (miRNAs), long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), and circular RNAs (circRNAs) in forest trees. Furthermore, we analyzed the intersection of miRNAs, and epigenetic modified ncRNAs of forest trees in response to abiotic stress. In particular, the abiotic stress-related lncRNA/circRNA-miRNA-mRNA regulatory network of forest trees was explored.

OBJECTIVES: Recent studies have confirmed that heart failure is one of the most important causes of death in patients with idiopathic inflammatory myopathy (IIM). Left ventricle diastolic dysfunction (LVDD) is closely associated with heart failure. Our aim is to determine if the prevalence of LVDD is increased in IIM patients. METHODS: We performed a time- and language-restricted literature search to identify studies conducted to compare the echocardiographic parameters in IIM patients and controls. Mean differences were used to calculate the effect sizes of the echocardiographic parameters. RESULTS: A total of 13 studies met the inclusion criteria and comprised a total of 227 juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) patients, 391 adult IIM patients, and 550 controls. The adult IIM patients had lower mitral annular early diastolic velocity (e') and peak of early diastolic flow velocity/peak of late diastolic flow velocity (E/A) ratio compared to controls. The mean left atrial dimension and E/e' ratio was higher in adult IIM patients as compared to controls. Similarly, in JDM patients, the decreased e' was also observed. CONCLUSION: Patients with IIM were more likely to have echocardiographic parameters indicative of diastolic dysfunction. The early heart assessments should be performed in IIM patients.

Ulcerative colitis (UC) represents a relapsing and inflammatory bowel disease which is commonly linked with the communications between dysfunction of epithelium and mucosal immune responses. Though caffeic acid (CA) has numerous pharmacological capacities, whether CA demonstrates immunoregulation on the mucosal immune responses remains ill-defined. Herein, the present research demonstrated that CA could dramatically attenuate the mucosal inflammation, as evidenced by improving the disease severity, serum biochemical indexes, mucosal ulcerations, loss of epithelium and crypts, and secretion of inflammatory cytokines in the colonic homogenates and explants culture. Consistently, CA could interfere with the infiltration and function of mononuclear macrophages in the mucosa, MLNs, and spleens of UC. Furthermore, CA exerted direct suppressive effects on the activation of BMDMs upon the exposure of TLRs agonists in vitro. Taken together, CA could attenuate DSS-induced murine UC through interfering with the activation of macrophages, which might provide an alternative therapeutic option for UC.

Triptolide has shown a good immunosuppressive effect on autoimmune diseases. However, the toxicity limited its widely clinical practice. In this study, we investigated the effects and underlying mechanisms of (5R)-5-hydroxytriptolide (LLDT-8), a novel triptolide derivative, on a murine psoriasis-like dermatitis model and related cell lines. Here, we showed that LLDT-8 significantly attenuated symptoms of psoriasis-like dermatitis induced by imiquimod (IMQ, a TLR7 agonist) by reducing the psoriasis area and severity index (PASI) score and inflammatory parameters. The action of LLDT-8 was involved in down-regulated interleukin (IL)-36α expression and blocked IL-36α pathway by LC-MS-based label-free quantitative (LFQ) proteomic approach and further experiments. Meanwhile, we observed that LLDT-8 significantly inhibited the expression of IL-36α in R837-treated bone marrow-derived dendritic cells (BMDCs). In conclusion, LLDT-8 notably alleviated IMQ-induced psoriasis-like skin inflammation via suppressing the IL-36α signaling pathway, suggesting LLDT-8 might be a potential drug for the treatment of psoriasis.

Exophiala is an important genus, with several species associated with infections in humans and animals. In a survey of soil fungal diversity in Yunnan province, PR China, a novel taxon, Exophiala pseudooligosperma sp. nov., was identified based on combined morphological and molecular phylogenetic features. Morphologically, this species is characterized by having torulose, septate hyphae and swollen, terminal or intercalary conidiogenous cells arising at acute angles from aerial hyphae. Phylogenetic analysis of the combined sequences of the internal transcribed spacer, the small and large nuclear subunit of the rRNA gene and part of the ß-tubulin gene confirmed the phylogenetic position of the new species within the genus Exophiala.

Quantitative real time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) is a common method to analyze gene expression. Due to differences in RNA quantity, quality, and reverse transcription efficiency between qRT-PCR samples, reference genes are used as internal standards to normalize gene expression. However, few universal genes, especially miRNAs, have been identified as reference so far. Therefore, it is essential to identify reference genes that can be used across various experimental conditions, stress treatments, or tissues. In this study, 14 microRNAs (miRNAs) and 5.8S rRNA were assessed for expression stability in poplar trees infected with canker pathogen. Using geNorm, NormFinder and Bestkeeper reference gene analysis programs, we found that miR156g and miR156a exhibited stable expression throughout the infection process. miR156g, miR156a and 5.8S rRNA were then tested as internal standards to measure the expression of miR1447 and miR171c, and the results were compared to small RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) data. We found that when miR156a and 5.8S rRNA were used as the reference gene, the expression of miR1447 and miR171c were consistent with the small RNA-seq expression profiles. Therefore, miR156a was the most stable miRNAs examined in this study, and could be used as a reference gene in poplar under canker pathogen stress, which should enable comprehensive comparisons of miRNAs expression and avoid the bias caused by different length between detected miRNAs and traditional reference genes. The present study has expanded the miRNA reference genes available for gene expression studies in trees under biotic stress.
