RESUMO

Objective: This study aims to determine whether tele-rehabilitation has similar effects to conventional face-to-face physical rehabilitation for diabetic patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Materials and methods: Demographic, laboratory, diagnostic and rehabilitation information for patients with type 2 diabetes with HFpEF were extracted from disease-specific databases. Outcome measures, including the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB), 6-minute walk distance, frailty status, European Quality of Life 5-Dimension 5-Level questionnaire (EQ-5D-5L) and reduction in HbA1c from admission, patients who received tele-rehabilitation therapy were compared to those received face-to-face rehabilitation. Results: In this study, 90 patients with type 2 diabetes and HFpEF using tele-rehabilitation were matched with 90 patients with type 2 diabetes and HFpEF using face-to-face physical rehabilitation. Improvements in the results of the SPPB scores, 6-min walk distance and gait speed and EQ-5D-5L were noted from the follow-up time point 3 months to 6 months in both two groups. There were no significant differences in functional tests and quality of life between the two groups. Conclusion: Our study proved that mobile-based tele-rehabilitation programs are non-inferior to face-to-face physical rehabilitation for diabetes patients after HFpEF. In addition, adherence to the telerehabilitation program showed that the novel technology was accepted well and could be an alternative to the conventional face-to-face rehabilitation program.

RESUMO

Plums (Prunus salicina and Prunus domestica) are prevalent in southwestern China, and have attracted interest owing to their delectable taste and exceptional nutritional properties. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the nutritional and flavor properties of plum to improve its nutritional utilization. Specifically, we determined the soluble sugars, organic acids, and phenolic components in 86 accessions using high-performance liquid chromatography. Notably, glucose, fructose, malic, and quinic acids were the predominant sweetness and acidity in plums, with sucrose contributing more to the sweetness of the flesh than the peel. Moreover, The peel contains 5.5 fold more phenolics than flesh, epicatechin, gallic acid, and proanthocyanidins C1 and B2 were the primary sources of astringency. Correlation and principal component analyses showed eight core factors for plum flavor rating, and a specific rating criterion was established. Conclusively, these findings provide information on the integrated flavor evaluation criteria and for enhancing optimal breeding of plums.

RESUMO

The tensile strength and elongation at break of rubbers are mutually restrictive factors. Design and preparation of chloroprene rubber (CR) with high tensile strength, high elongation at break and excellent flame retardancy at the same time is challenging. Melamine cyanurate (MCA) is for the first time discovered to be a reactive flame retardant for CR. The tensile strength of C-M36 (with 3 wt% ZnO and 36 wt% MCA) vulcanizate is 2.5 times that of C-M0 (only with 3 wt% ZnO) vulcanizate, while the elongation at break of C-M36 vulcanizate is 1.3 times that of ZnO cross-linked C-M0 vulcanizate. At the same time, the limiting oxygen index of C-M36 (39%) is 1.22 times that of C-M0 (32%). FTIR and the vulcanization tests confirm that the reaction between CR and cyanuric acid occurs under the catalysis of a base (melamine), and the cyanuric acid molecules are grafted onto the molecular chain of CR. Two types of crosslinking networks are formed in CR vulcanizate, namely the traditional covalent bond crosslinks and the triple hydrogen crosslinks formed between cyanuric acid and melamine. Thus, the flame-retardant CR/MCA vulcanizate with high strength and high elongation at break is obtained. This research will strongly promote the industrial application of CR.
