lução do diagnóstico do subdesenvolvimento no pensamentode Celso Furtado entre 1950 e 1964, período de atuação na Comissão Econômica para a AméricaLatina e o Caribe (Cepal) e na Superintendência para o Desenvolvimento do Nordeste (Sudene), dentro da hipótese de que ele elabora um diagnóstico dinâmico do subdesenvolvimento, que no decorrer do tempo ganha um caráter mais amplo (além dos marcos da ciência econômica), reflexo do quadro de crise econômica no início da década de 1960 no Brasil. A fim de que tal intento seja alcançado, analisaremos suas obrasno período 1950-64, da perspectiva da sociologia do conhecimento de Karl Mannheim, isto é, situando-as no quadro social, político e econômico vivido no período e também no debate sobre a temática do subdesenvolvimento, em especial na América Latina.(AU)

ABSTRACT

This work seeks to outline the evolution of the definition of underdevelopment present in the thoughts of Celso Furtado during the period between 1950 and1964, when he worked at the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), and at the Sudene (Superintendency for the Development of the Northeast [of Brazil]), within the theory that he develops a dynamic definition of underdevelopment, which,over time, assumes a broader scope (as well as the marks of economic science) that reflects the economic crisis suffered by Brazil at the beginning of the 1960s. To this end we have analyzed his works, produced during the 1950-64 period, from the perspective of Karl Mannheim`s sociology of knowledge. In other words, we have placed them within the social, political and economic context of that time, as well as within the debate on the subject of underdevelopment, especially in Latin America.(AU)
