El objetivo de esta investigación bibliográfica es profundizar la reflexión crítica sobre la geopolítica del conocimiento producido sobre la temática del ocio en las sociedades occidentales. Considerando este contexto específico, tiene como punto de partida las siguientes preguntas ¿El ocio es un fenómeno que surge en la Antigüedad clásica griega? ¿O sería en la Modernidad europea? ¿Los estudios e investigaciones sobre el ocio en América Latina deben considerar solamente las sociedades urbanas e industrializadas? ¿La historia es única y universal, u otras relecturas sobre el ocio en América Latina pueden ser realizadas? ¿Cuáles son las implicaciones históricas, culturales, sociales, económicas y (geo) políticas de este tipo de abordaje en las distintas realidades latinoamericanas? La preocupación central de este texto es colaborar con la reflexión sobre los conocimientos tradicionalmente producidos sobre el ocio en América Latina. Tiene como telón de fondo el repensar la Modernidad, la ideología de progreso, las dicotomías que limitan las concepciones de ser humano y de mundo y la geopolítica del conocimiento sobre el ocio. Comprendido como una dimensión de la cultura, el ocio puede ser un tiempo/espacio social de resignificación y empoderamiento, contribuyendo para agudizar sensibilidades y ayudando a la comprensión de los contextos latinoamericanos, además de estimular el pensamiento crítico sobre las sociedades para la transformación social en búsqueda de un mundo más humano y solidario.
The aim of this bibliographic review is to deepen a critical reflection on the geopolitics of knowledge produced on the theme of leisure in Western societies. Considering this specific context, it has the following questions as starting point Is Leisure a phenomenon that arose in Greek classical antiquity? Or was it in European modernity? Do the studies and research on leisure in Latin America should consider only urban and industrialized societies? Is History unique and universal, or can other reinterpretations on leisure in Latin America be made? What are the implications of historical, cultural, social, economic, and (geo) politics of this type of approach in the different realities in Latin America? The central concern of this paper is to collaborate with reflection onleisure traditionally produced knowledge about in Latin America. Its backdrop is rethinking modernity, the ideology of progress, the dichotomies that limit the conceptions of man and of the world, and the geopolitics of knowledge on leisure. Understood as a dimension of culture, leisure can be a social space / time of redefinition and empowerment, contributing to heighten sensitivity and understanding helping Latin American contexts, besides of stimulating critical thinking about societies for social transformation search of a humane world.
