RESUMO

This study presents new coordinating modes of a Schiff base with three coordinating groups and an interesting two-dimensional framework based on two types of constructing units. In the title compound, {[Ag(C(14)H(10)N(4)O)]ClO(4)}(n), the Ag(I) ion is coordinated by three N atoms and one O atom from three different N'-(4-cyanobenzylidene)isonicotinohydrazide (L) ligands, forming a primary distorted square-planar coordination geometry. Two ligands each bridge two metal centres through one carbonitrile N atom in a monodentate mode and the hydrazide N and O atoms in a bidentate mode to form a small centrosymmetric (2+2)-Ag(2)L(2) ring as a principal constructing unit. The pyridyl N atoms from four ligands in four of these small rings coordinate to Ag atoms in adjacent rings to form a large hexanuclear silver grid. A two-dimensional framework of rectangular grids is constructed from these small rings and large grids. Two perchlorate anions are located in each large grid and are bound to the grid by N-H...O hydrogen bonding. Crosslinking between the layers is achieved through long Ag...O interactions between the perchlorate anions and Ag atoms in adjacent layers.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Bushen Huoxue prescription (BSHXP) for endometriosis. METHODS: A meta-analysis was performed, and studies were searched from the seven databases from the date of database establishment to April 30, 2017. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that explored the efficacy and safety of BSHXP for patients with endometriosis were included. Two assessors independently reviewed each trial. The Cochrane Risk of Bias assessment tool was used for quality assessment. RESULTS: In the 13 included studies, the total effectiveness rates of BSHXP were higher than those of Western medicine (RR, 1.55; 95% CI, 1.03-2.32; P = 0.04), but the dysmenorrhea alleviation rates of the two treatments did not significantly differ (RR, 1.28; 95% CI, 0.70-2.34; P = 0.42). The pregnancy rates of BSHXP were also higher than those of hormone therapy (RR, 1.99; 95% CI, 1.17-3.39; P = 0.01). However, whether BSHXP is more effective than Western medicine in diminishing endometriotic cyst remains unknown. CONCLUSIONS: Our study provides evidence that BSHXP is effective and safe for endometriosis, but this evidence is inconclusive because of the low methodological quality of the included RCTs. Our findings suggest that BSHXP is an alternative drug for endometriosis, but it should be further examined in future clinical research.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the changes of the myocardial cells in chronic epileptic rat model and to observe the expression of calcium sensing receptor(CaSR) and mitogen-activated proteinkinase(MAPK)pathway changes in epilepsy rats. METHODS: The chronic epileptic rat model was induced bypentetrazole (PTZ). Adult male Wistar rats were divided into 5 groups randomly, and there were 12 rats in each group. The rats in model group were treated with a sub-convulsivedose of PTZ (35 mg/kg) by intraperitoneal injection for 28 d. After stopping a week, the same dose of PTZ test was conducted. The control group was treated with isovolumetric saline instead of PTZ by intraperitoneal injection. According to Racine behavior grading standards the rat emerged two levels above epileptic seizure 5 consecutive times, which was considered the chronic epilepsy model successful ignition. The intervention factors included spermine(calcium-sensing receptor agonist, 3 µmol/L) and Chalhex231(calcium-sensing receptor inhibitor, 2 µmol/L). The serum creatine kinase (CK) and creatine kinase isoenzyme(CK-MB)were detected. The cardiac functions, morphological changes of rat myocardial tissue, myocardial cell ultrastructure, myocardial cell calcium sensing receptor and extracellular regulated protein kinase (ERK), p-ERK, p-JNK expression were carried out. RESULTS: Compared with normal control group, CK, CK-MB inPTZ group were increased obviously. The cardiac compliance and left ventricular function were decreased, E/A<1 by echocardiography. The myocardial ultrastructure showed serious injury. The expressions of CaSR and p-JNK were increased, but the expression of p-ERKwas decreased. Spermine could promote the expressions of CaSR and p-JNK, and decrease the expression of p-ERK in epilepsy; however, the role of Chalhex231 wasopposite. CONCLUSIONS: The level of CaSR expression increased in chronic epileptic rat model. CaSR activated the expressions of MAPK of the myocardial cells, andthen influenced the cardiac myocyte apoptosis.

RESUMO

AIM: To test the therapeutic effects of delayed treatment of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in recurrent experimental autoimmune uveitis (rEAU). METHODS: The efficacy of different regimens of MSC administration in rEAU were tested by evaluation of clinical and pathological intraocular inflammation, as well as retinal structural and functional integrity using optical coherence tomography (OCT) and electroretinogram (ERG). The retinal sections were also immunostained with antibodies to glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) and rhodopsin (RHO). RESULTS: Delayed treatment of MSCs effectively alleviated the severity of intraocular inflammation with relative intact of outer retinal structure and function. Moreover, double therapies with longer interval led to an even better clinical evaluation, as well as a trend of decrease in relapse and amelioration of retinal function. MSC therapies also effectively reduced GFAP expression and increased RHO expression in the retina. CONCLUSION: MSC administration can effectively treat developed diseases of rEAU, and multiple therapies can provide additional therapeutic benefits.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the effects of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with ginger moxibustion against gastrointestinal tract reactions (nausea, vomiting, and constipation) to chemotherapy in cancer patients. METHODS: A total of 60 patients with gynecological tumors treated by chemotherapy were randomly divided into two groups. The treatment group (30 cases) underwent wrist-ankle acupuncture and ginger moxibustion, whereas tropisetron hydrochloride and dexamethasone were intravenously administered to the control group (30 cases) during chemotherapy. RESULTS: The frequency of nausea in the treatment group was significantly less than that of the control group from the 2nd to the 5th day of chemotherapy (P<0.01). The anti-emetic effect in the treatment group was significantly better than that in the control group on the 3rd day of therapy (P<0.05). The incidence rate of constipation was significantly lower in the treatment group than that in the control group (P<0.01). Furthermore, the cost of therapy for the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.01). Only 1 patient manifested a post-acupuncture side effect in the form of subcutaneous blood stasis. CONCLUSION: Wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with ginger moxibustion could prevent gastrointestinal tract reactions to chemotherapy in cancer patients. In addition, the proposed method had fewer side effects, lower cost, and less risk.
