RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Bladder cancer (BCa) is the fourth most common malignant tumor with a poor prognosis worldwide. Further exploration and research are needed to unmask the underlying roles and molecular mechanisms of circular RNAs. In the current study, our findings showed that circXRN2 suppresses tumor progression driven by histone lactylation by activating the Hippo pathway in human bladder cancer. METHODS: RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) followed by circRNA sequencing confirmed circXRN2 as the research object. Overexpression of circXRN2 and knockdown of TAZ/YAP further verified the biological functions in T24 and TCCSUP cells. RIP, immunoprecipitation and coimmunoprecipitation were used to elucidate the interaction between circXRN2 and LATS1. A Seahorse metabolic analyzer was used to determine the glycolytic rate. Cleavage under targets and Tagmentation (CUT&Tag) and chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) were employed to ensure the regulatory roles of H3K18 lactylation in the transcriptional activity of LCN2. RESULTS: CircXRN2 is aberrantly downregulated in bladder cancer tissues and cell lines. CircXRN2 inhibits the proliferation and migration of tumor cells both in vitro and in vivo. In addition, circXRN2 serves as a negative regulator of glycolysis and lactate production. Mechanistically, circXRN2 prevents LATS1 from SPOP-mediated degradation by binding to the SPOP degron and then activates the Hippo signaling pathway to exert various biological functions. The circXRN2-Hippo pathway regulatory axis further modulates tumor progression by inhibiting H3K18 lactylation and LCN2 expression in human bladder cancer. CONCLUSIONS: CircXRN2 suppresses tumor progression driven by H3K18 lactylation by activating the Hippo signaling pathway in human bladder cancer. Our results indicated novel therapeutic targets and provided promising strategies for clinical intervention in human bladder cancer.

RESUMO

Fraunhofer diffraction is an easy but powerful method for measuring the diameter of a thin filament. In practice, however, the diffraction pattern attainable is always subject to limits imposed by various imperfections in real systems, such as small angle approximation and sensor threshold, thus degrading the measurement resolution. In this Letter, we propose a method of fringe segment splicing for improving the diameter measurement from Fraunhofer diffraction. The fringe segment is chosen from a real diffraction pattern and is used to reproduce an ideal diffraction fringe, where the theoretical estimates give the best approximation to the observations. The problem of diameter measurement is solved in the spatial frequency-domain with an ideal diffraction fringe. Our results show that the relative error in this method is less than 0.1% and is far superior to that of previous methods.

RESUMO

PURPOSE: To compare the perioperative outcomes of L-RPLND, R-RPLND and O-RPLND, and determine which one can be the mainstream option. METHODS: We retrospectively reviewed medical records of 47 patients undergoing primary RPLND by three different surgical techniques for stage I-II NSGCT between July 2011 and April 2022 at our center. Standard open and laparoscopic RPLND was performed with usual equipment, and robotic RPLND was operated with da Vinci Si system. RESULTS: Forty-seven patients underwent RPLND during 2011-2022, and 26 (55.3%) of them received L-RPLND, 14 (29.8%) were operated with robot, while 7 (14.9%) were performed O-RPLND. The median follow-up was 48.0 months, 48.0 months, and 60.0 months, respectively. The oncological outcomes were comparable among all groups. In L-RPLND group, there were 8 (30.8%) cases of low grade (Clavien I-II) complications, and 3 (11.5%) cases of high-grade (Clavien III-IV) complications. In R-RPLND group, one (7.1%) low-grade complication and four (28.6%) high-grade complications were observed. In O-RPLND group, there were 2 (28.5%) cases of low-grade complications and one case (14.2%) of high-grade one. The operation duration of L-RPLND was the shortest. In O-RPLND group, the number of positive lymph nodes were higher than other two groups. Patients undergoing open surgery had lower (p < 0.05) red blood cell count, hemoglobin level, and higher (p < 0.05) estimated blood loss, white blood cell count than those receiving either laparoscopic or robotic surgery. CONCLUSION: All three surgical techniques are comparable in safety, oncological, andrological, and reproductive outcomes under the circumstance of not using primary chemotherapy. L-RPLND might be the most cost-effective option.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The use of shorter TR and finer atlases in rs-fMRI can provide greater detail on brain function and anatomy. However, there is limited understanding of the effect of this combination on brain network properties. METHODS: A study was conducted with 20 healthy young volunteers who underwent rs-fMRI scans with both shorter (0.5s) and long (2s) TR. Two atlases with different degrees of granularity (90 vs 200 regions) were used to extract rs-fMRI signals. Several network metrics, including small-worldness, Cp, Lp, Eloc, and Eg, were calculated. Two-factor ANOVA and two-sample t-tests were conducted for both the single spectrum and five sub-frequency bands. RESULTS: The network constructed using the combination of shorter TR and finer atlas showed significant enhancements in Cp, Eloc, and Eg, as well as reductions in Lp and γ in both the single spectrum and subspectrum (p < 0.05, Bonferroni correction). Network properties in the 0.082-0.1 Hz frequency range were weaker than those in the 0.01-0.082 Hz range. CONCLUSION: Our findings suggest that the use of shorter TR and finer atlas can positively affect the topological characteristics of brain networks. These insights can inform the development of brain network construction methods.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The risks associated with deep vein thrombosis (DVT) have gained significant recognition over time. A prevalent form of distal DVT is isolated calf muscular venous thrombosis (ICMVT). Despite its common clinical occurrence, data on ICMVT subsequent to tibial plateau fracture (TPF) surgery are scarce. This study aimed to examine the epidemiological characteristics and associated risk factors (RFs) of ICMVT following TPF surgery. METHODS: For this retrospective analysis, we included patients from our hospital, who underwent TPF surgery between March 2017 and March 2021. Patients' electronic medical records were reviewed, including admission details, fracture classification, surgical procedures, and laboratory biomarkers. The HSS (The American Hospital for Special Surgery) and Rasmussen scores were employed to evaluate the clinical effect. A Color Duplex Flow Imager (CDFI) was regularly used to detect pre- and postoperative venous thrombosis in the lower limbs. Finally, uni- and multivariate logistic regression analyses were used to identify independent RFs associated with ICMVT. RESULTS: Overall, 481 participants were recruited for analysis. Postoperative ICMVT occurred in 47 patients. All ICMVTs occurred on the affected side. Four of the 47 ICMVT patients exhibited sudden postoperative swelling in the affected limb. The HSS and Rasmussen scores in the non-ICMVT cohort (87.6 ± 8.2, 16.0 ± 1.7) were markedly different from the ICMVT cohort (84.8 ± 8.2, 15.5 ± 1.6) (p = 0.014, p = 0.031). This study finally identified five postoperative ICMVT-related RFs, which were age (> 55 years old) (OR 3.06; 95% CI 1.47-6.37; p = 0.003), gender (female) (OR 2.67; 95% CI 1.37-5.22; p = 0.004), surgical duration (> 114 min) (OR 3.14; 95% CI 1.44-6.85; p = 0.004), elevated white blood cell content (OR 2.85; 95% CI 1.47-5.51; p = 0.002), and hyponatremia (OR 2.31; 95% CI 1.04-5.12; p = 0.040). CONCLUSION: The epidemiological findings of this study may help predict ICMVT risk after surgery thus facilitating the development of individualized clinical assessments and targeted prevention programs.

RESUMO

A coarse-to-fine multi-view stereo network with Transformer (MVS-T) is proposed to solve the problems of sparse point clouds and low accuracy in reconstructing 3D scenes from low-resolution multi-view images. The network uses a coarse-to-fine strategy to estimate the depth of the image progressively and reconstruct the 3D point cloud. First, pyramids of image features are constructed to transfer the semantic and spatial information among features at different scales. Then, the Transformer module is employed to aggregate the image's global context information and capture the internal correlation of the feature map. Finally, the image depth is inferred by constructing a cost volume and iterating through the various stages. For 3D reconstruction of low-resolution images, experiment results show that the 3D point cloud obtained by the network is more accurate and complete, which outperforms other advanced algorithms in terms of objective metrics and subjective visualization.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Increasing evidence has indicated that pyroptosis could regulate the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) to affect the tumor development. As a highly immunogenic tumor, clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) can benefit from immunotherapy, but related research on pyroptosis in the TIME of ccRCC is still deficient. METHODS: Available data derived from TCGA and GEO databases were analyzed to identify the different expression profiles of pyroptosis in ccRCC and normal tissues, and the correlation of pyroptosis regulators with TIME was evaluated in ccRCC. RESULTS: According to consensus clustering analysis, two differential expression levels of subtypes were identified to affect patient prognosis, and were related to histological tumor stage and grade. Immune cells were calculated by the CIBERSORT algorithm. Higher infiltrated levels of B cells naive, T cells CD4 memory resting, NK cells resting, monocytes, macrophages were observed in Cluster 1, while higher infiltrated levels of CD8+ T cells, T follicular helper cells, and Tregs were observed in Cluster 2. Gene set enrichment analysis indicated that Cluster 2 was enriched in multiple immune-related pathways, including the JAK-STAT signaling pathway. Moreover, overexpression of eight immune checkpoints was related to ccRCC development, especially in Cluster 2. As four potentially key pyroptosis regulators, AIM2, CASP5, NOD2, and GZMB were confirmed to be upregulated in ccRCC by RT-qPCR analysis and further verified by the HPA database. Further pan-cancer analysis suggested that these four pyroptosis regulators were differentially expressed and related to the TIME in multiple cancers. CONCLUSION: The present study provided a comprehensive view of pyroptosis regulators in the TIME of ccRCC, which may provide potential value for immunotherapy.

RESUMO

Bladder cancer is one of the most frequently occurring malignant tumors in the urinary system. Sodium butyrate (NaB) is a histone deacetylase inhibitor and exerts remarkable antitumor effects in various cancer cells. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) and autophagy play crucial roles in cancer occurrence and development. In the present study, we evaluated the anticancer effects, including cell migration inhibition and the apoptotic effects of NaB in human bladder cancer cells. Furthermore, we found that NaB inhibited migration and induced AMPK/mTOR pathway-activated autophagy and reactive oxygen species (ROS) overproduction via the miR-139-5p/Bmi-1 axis. In addition, we found that ROS overproduction contributed to NaB-induced caspase-dependent apoptosis and autophagy. The interplay between autophagy and apoptosis in NaB treatment was clarified. Our findings provide a further understanding of EMT reversion, apoptosis and autophagy induced by antitumor drugs and a novel perspective and alternative strategy for bladder cancer chemotherapy.

RESUMO

10-hydroxycamptothecin (HCPT), a natural plant extract, exerts anticancer capacity. HCPT has been reported to induce apoptosis and autophagy in human cancer cells. The interaction between autophagy and apoptosis induced by HCPT and the molecular mechanism in bladder cancer cells were investigated in this study. Our results confirmed that HCPT suppressed cell viability and migration and caused cell-cycle arrest in T24 and 5637. Then, we used Z-VAD(OMe)-FMK to clarify that apoptosis induced by HCPT was mediated by caspase. Moreover, HCPT boosted autophagy through activating the AMPK/mTOR/ULK1 pathway. Blocking autophagy by 3-methyladenine, the adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) inhibitor dorsomorphin and siATG7 reversed HCPT-induced cytotoxicity. Conversely, rapamycin and the AMPK activator AICAR enhanced growth inhibition and cell apoptosis, suggesting that autophagy played a proapoptosis role. Taken together, our findings showed that HCPT-induced autophagy mediated by the AMPK pathway in T24 and 5637 cell lines, which reinforced the apoptosis, indicating that HCPT together with autophagy activator would be a novel strategy for clinical treatment in bladder cancer.

RESUMO

Aiming to provide an argumentation on the underlying nonlinearity of the overall functional brain network via surrogate data method and graph theory. Taking the functional magnetic resonance imaging data as original data set and then shuffled the time series of each region of interest to generate surrogate data sets, corresponding original network and its 400 surrogates were obtained via computing connectivity matrixes. The results show that both the global correlation level and corresponding small-world topological characters exhibited obvious differences between the original network and its surrogates. And the following statistical testing results demonstrate their significant distinction, and this topological difference has been proved to be caused by the intrinsic nonlinear dynamics. Accordingly, the nonlinearity of the original functional network and its superior dynamical complexity have been confirmed. The results of this study could provide a novel angle into exploring the underlying mechanism of the neural brain system and offer an essential evidence in explaining complex brain activities.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND The management of chronic unilateral hematuria (CUH) caused by benign lesions is a therapeutic challenge to many urologists. The aims of this study were to evaluate the efficacy and safety of povidone iodine sclerotherapy for CUH. MATERIAL AND METHODS We identified 20 patients who underwent povidone iodine sclerotherapy to treat CUH between September 2013 and August 2017. Radiologic and hematologic tests were normal, no definite cause of hematuria was revealed, and the malignant lesions were excluded. Cystoscopy and ureteroscopy indicated the lesions were located in the renal pelvis. The goal of successful treatment was no recurrence of hematuria during follow-up. RESULTS The present study analyzed 20 patients (9 females and 11 males), 24-73 years old (mean age 44.6) with mean follow-up of 23.8 (range 13-60) months. Endoscopic findings included discrete lesions, diffuse lesions, and no obvious lesion. Discrete lesions were identified as hemangioma (4/20, 20%), minute venous rupture (12/20, 60%), and varix (1/20, 5%). Diffuse lesions were founded via ureteroscopy in 2 (2/20, 10%) patients. In the remaining 1 (1/20, 5%) patient, no obvious lesion was found. All patients with CUH were treated with 0.5% povidone iodine for pelvicalyceal system instillation, which was given at 12-h intervals for 3 days. Only 1 patient experienced recurrent gross hematuria, after 24 months postoperatively. The overall success rate, defined as resolution of gross hematuria after povidone iodine sclerotherapy, was 95%. No complications were recorded. CONCLUSIONS The present study indicates that povidone iodine sclerotherapy could be an effective, safe, and minimally invasive treatment for chronic unilateral hematuria caused by benign lesions.

RESUMO

Optically pumped atomic magnetometers based on spin exchange relaxation free regime have recently become a powerful tool in the field of magnetoencephalography measurements. For this application of magnetometers, simultaneous multilocation magnetic field measurements are desired. To fulfill the requirement, we develop a multi-channel sensor module based on a single large vapor cell. The probe beam passes through the vapor cell twice by reflection and then records the two-dimensional spatial magnetic field distribution with two 2 × 2 photodiode matrixes. Comparing with the previous multi-channel tangential magnetic field measuring sensors, our magnetometer is sensitive to the normal magnetic field by operating in the longitudinal parametric modulation mode. Measuring the normal component is considered more suitable for magnetoencephalography, because the normal component provides more information. The sensitivities of the channels are approximately 10 fT/Hz1/2 in the normal direction. The auditory evoked magnetic fields of the four adjacent locations perpendicular to the scalp are detected simultaneously. Our magnetometer can measure the normal and tangential magnetic fields simultaneously. The dual-axis vector measurement of magnetic field is very important for magnetoencephalography.

RESUMO

In a pulse pump Rb atomic magnetometer, the magnetic field is associated with the Larmor frequency of the free induction decay (FID) signal. The reconstruction of the magnetic field from the collected signal, thereby, is crucial for magnetocardiography. In this study, we propose a backward singular value decomposition (BSVD) method for fast reconstruction of a magnetocardiographic signal. Experiments on the simulated and real data were performed to estimate its potential advantages over previous approaches, such as the fast Fourier transform (FFT) method, the zero-crossing means (ZM) method, etc. The results show the high accuracy of the BSVD method compared with other methods. More importantly, the BSVD method requires less sampled data than other methods while ensuring the accuracy. With the help of it, the recording time can be greatly reduced from the initial 3.6m s to the present 0.6m s. Thus, the time resolution of the magnetocardiograph could reach 2m s which is equivalent to that of conventional electrocardiogragh. This will bring the atomic magnetocardiography more practicable in clinic application.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Current evidence indicates that miR-608 is widely down-regulated in various malignant tumors including liver cancer, colon cancer, lung cancer and glioma, and acts as a tumor suppressor by inhibiting cell proliferation, invasion and migration or by promoting apoptosis. The specific biological function of miR-608 in bladder cancer is still unknown. METHODS: qRT-PCR and Chromogenic in Situ Hybridization (CISH) was conducted to assess the expression of miR-608 in paired BCa tissues and adjacent non-tumor bladder urothelial tissues. Bisulfite sequencing PCR was used for DNA methylation analysis. CCK-8, colony formation and flow cytometry assays were performed, and a xenograft model was studied. Immunohistochemistry staining was performed with peroxidase and DAB. The target of miR-608 was validated with a dual-luciferase reporter assay, quantitative RT-PCR, and Western blotting. RESULTS: miR-608 is frequently down-regulated in human BCa tissues. The methylation status of CpG islands is involved in the regulation of miR-608 expression. Overexpression of miR-608 inhibits the proliferation and tumorigenesis of BCa cells in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, up-regulation of miR-608 in BCa cells induces G1-phase arrest through AKT/FOXO3a signaling. In contrast, down-regulation of miR-608 promotes proliferation and cell cycle progression in BCa cells. Moreover, the expression of FLOT1 was directly inhibited by miR-608, the down-regulation of FLOT1 induced by siFLOT1 could be significantly reversed by miR-608 inhibitor. Similarly, the up-regulation of FLOT1 by FLOT1 overexpression plasmid (pFLOT1) could also reverse the suppressed cell proliferation caused by miR-608. CONCLUSIONS: miR-608 is a potential tumor suppressor in BCa, and the restoration of miR-608 might be a promising therapeutic option for BCa.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: The hemodynamic balloon model describes the change in coupling from underlying neural activity to observed blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) response. It plays an increasing important role in brain research using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques. However, changes in the BOLD signal are sensitive to the resting blood volume fraction (i.e., [Formula: see text]) associated with the regional vasculature. In previous studies the value was arbitrarily set to a physiologically plausible value to circumvent the ill-posedness of the inverse problem. These approaches fail to explore actual [Formula: see text] value and could yield inaccurate model estimation. METHODS: The present study represents the first empiric attempt to derive the actual [Formula: see text] from data obtained using cerebral blood volume imaging, with the aim of augmenting the existing estimation schemes. Bimanual finger tapping experiments were performed to determine how [Formula: see text] influences the model estimation of BOLD signals within a single-region and multiple-regions (i.e., dynamic causal modeling). In order to show the significance of applying the true [Formula: see text], we have presented the different results obtained when using the real [Formula: see text] and assumed [Formula: see text] in terms of single-region model estimation and dynamic causal modeling. RESULTS: The results show that [Formula: see text] significantly influences the estimation results within a single-region and multiple-regions. Using the actual [Formula: see text] might yield more realistic and physiologically meaningful model estimation results. CONCLUSION: Incorporating regional venous information in the analysis of the hemodynamic model can provide more reliable and accurate parameter estimations and model predictions, and improve the inference about brain connectivity based on fMRI data.

RESUMO

The purpose of this study was to evaluate adaptive daily planning for cervi-cal cancer patients who underwent high-dose-rate intracavitary brachytherapy (HDR-BT) using comprehensive interfractional organ motion measurements. This study included 22 cervical cancer patients who underwent 5 fractions of HDR-BT. Regions of interest (ROIs) including high-risk clinical tumor volume (HR-CTV) and organs at risk (OARs) were manually contoured on daily CT images. All patients were clinically treated with adaptive daily plans (ADP), which involved ROI delineation and dose optimization at each treatment fraction. Single treatment plans (SP) were retrospectively generated by applying the first treatment fraction's dwell times adjusted for decay and dwell positions of the applicator to subsequent treatment fractions. Various existing similarity metrics were calculated for the ROIs to quantify interfractional organ variations. A novel similarity (JRARM) score was established, which combined both volumetric overlap metrics (DSC, JSC, and RVD) and distance metrics (ASD, MSD, and RMSD). Linear regression was performed to determine a relationship between interfractional organ varia-tions of various similarity metrics and D2cc variations from both plans. Wilcoxon signed-rank tests were used to assess ADP and SP by comparing EQD2 D2cc (α/ß = 3) for OARs. For interfractional organ variations, the sigmoid demonstrated the greatest variations based on the JRARM, DSC, and RMSD metrics. Comparisons between paired ROIs showed differences in metrics at each treatment fraction. RVD, MSD, and RMSD were found to be significantly correlated to D2cc varia-tions for bladder and sigmoid. The comparison between plans found ADP provided lower EQD2 D2cc of OARs than SP. Specifically, the sigmoid demonstrated sta-tistically significant dose variations (p = 0.015). Substantial interfractional organ motion occurs during HDR-BT based on comprehensive measurements and may significantly affect D2cc of OARs. Adaptive daily planning provides improved dose sparing for OARs compared to single planning with the extent of sparing being different among OARs.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Emerging evidence has suggested that dysregulation of miR-182-5p may contribute to tumor development and progression in several types of human cancers. However, its role in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is still unknown. METHODS: Quantitative RT-PCR was used to quantify miR-182-5p expression in RCC clinical tissues. Bisulfite sequencing PCR was used for DNA methylation analysis. The CCK-8, colony formation, flow cytometry, and a xenograft model were performed. Immunohistochemistry was conducted using the peroxidase and DAB methods. A miR-182-5p target was determined by luciferase reporter assays, quantitative RT-PCR, and Western blotting. RESULTS: miR-182-5p is frequently down-regulated in human RCC tissues. Epigenetic modulation may be involved in the regulation of miR-182-5p expression. Enforced expression of miR-182-5p in RCC cells significantly inhibited the proliferation and tumorigenicity in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, overexpression of miR-182-5p induced G1-phase arrest via inhibition of AKT/FOXO3a signaling. Moreover, FLOT1 was confirmed as a target of miR-182-5p. Silencing FLOT1 by small interfering RNAs phenocopied the effects of miR-182-5p overexpression, whereas restoration of FLOT1 in miR-182-5p -overexpressed RCC cells partly reversed the suppressive effects of miR-182-5p. CONCLUSIONS: These findings highlight an important role for miR-182-5p in the pathogenesis of RCC, and restoration of miR-182-5p could be considered as a potential therapeutic strategy for RCC therapy.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVES: Tea is supposed to have chemopreventive effect against various cancers. However, the protective role of tea in prostate cancer is still controversial. The aim of this study is to elucidate the association between tea consumption and prostate cancer risk by meta-analysis. METHODS: A total of 21 published articles were retrieved via both computerized searches and review of references. Estimates of OR/RR for highest versus non/lowest tea consumption levels were pooled on the basis of random effect model or fixed effect model as appropriate. Stratified analyses on tea type, population and study design were also conducted. RESULTS: No statistical significance was detected between tea consumption and prostate cancer risk in meta-analysis of all included studies (odds ratio (OR) = 0.86, 95% CI (0.69-1.04)). Furthermore, stratified analyses on population (Asian, OR = 0.81, 95% CI (0.55-1.08); non-Asian, OR = 0.89, 95% CI (0.72-1.07)) and tea type (green tea, OR = 0.79, 95% CI (0.43-1.14); black tea, OR = 0.88, 95% CI (0.73-1.02)) also yielded non-significant association. Only the case-control study subgroup demonstrated a borderline protective effect for tea consumption against prostate cancer (OR = 0.77, 95% CI (0.55-0.98)). CONCLUSION: Our analyses did not support the conclusion that tea consumption could reduce prostate cancer risk. Further epidemiology studies are needed.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Epidemiological studies of the association between nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) intake and the risk of prostate cancer still remain controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to evaluate the potential association between NSAID intake and prostate cancer risk. METHODS: Eligible studies were retrieved by both computerized searches and reviews of references. Subgroup analyses on country and design of study were also performed. Random or fixed-effect models were used to pool estimates of odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). RESULTS: We observed that the intake of aspirin was associated with a marginally decreased risk of prostate cancer (OR = 0.95, 95% CI = 0.93 to 0.98). A similar result was found between nonaspirin NSAIDs and prostate cancer risk (OR = 0.94, 95% CI =0.90 to 0.98). However, a positive relation between all-NSAID intake and prostate cancer risk was observed (OR = 1.18, 95% CI = 1.15 to 1.22). CONCLUSIONS: We observed a marginally inverse correlation between the intake of aspirin and prostate cancer risk. On the contrary, a positive relationship between all-NSAID intake and prostate cancer was detected. Further research needs to be conducted to better clarify potential biological mechanisms.

RESUMO

The basic principle of multi-view stereo (MVS) is to perform 3D reconstruction by extracting depth information from multiple views. Most current SOTA MVS networks are based on Vision Transformer, which usually means expensive computational complexity. To reduce computational complexity and improve depth map accuracy, we propose a MVS network with Bidirectional Semantic Information (BSI-MVS). Firstly, we design a Multi-Level Spatial Pyramid module to generate multiple layers of feature map for extracting multi-scale information. Then we propose a 2D Bidirectional-LSTM module to capture bidirectional semantic information at different time steps in the horizontal and vertical directions, which contains abundant depth information. Finally, cost volumes are built based on various levels of feature maps to optimize the final depth map. We experiment on the DTU and BlendedMVS datasets. The result shows that our network, in terms of overall metrics, surpasses TransMVSNet, CasMVSNet, CVP-MVSNet, and AACVP-MVSNet respectively by 17.84%, 36.42%, 14.96%, and 4.86%, which also shows a noticeable performance enhancement in objective metrics and visualizations.
