RESUMO

Magnon transistors that can effectively regulate magnon transport by an electric field are desired for magnonics, which aims to provide a Joule-heating free alternative to the conventional electronics owing to the electric neutrality of magnons (the key carriers of spin-angular momenta in the magnonics). However, also due to their electric neutrality, magnons have no access to directly interact with an electric field and it is thus difficult to manipulate magnon transport by voltages straightforwardly. Here, we demonstrated a gate voltage (V_{g}) applied on a nonmagnetic metal and magnetic insulator (MI) interface that bent the energy band of the MI and then modulated the probability for conduction electrons in the nonmagnetic metal to tunnel into the MI, which can consequently enhance or weaken the spin-magnon conversion efficiency at the interface. A voltage-controlled magnon transistor based on the magnon-mediated electric current drag (MECD) effect in a Pt-Y_{3}Fe_{5}O_{12}-Pt sandwich was then experimentally realized with V_{g} modulating the magnitude of the MECD signal. The obtained efficiency (the change ratio between the MECD voltage at ±V_{g}) reached 10%/(MV/cm) at 300 K. This prototype of magnon transistor offers an effective scheme to control magnon transport by a gate voltage.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Efficacy of the Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor baricitinib for severe alopecia areata (AA) continuously increased over 52 weeks in two Phase 3 trials. There are limited long-term data on JAK inhibitors in AA. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate efficacy and safety of baricitinib for severe AA through 104 weeks of continuous therapy. METHODS: Integrated data from the BRAVE-AA1 and BRAVE-AA2 Phase 3 trials included adults with Severity of Alopecia Tool (SALT) scores ≥50 (≥50% scalp hair loss) randomized to and continuously treated with 2-mg or 4-mg baricitinib through Week 104. Patients who qualified to remain on continuous treatment included subjects who achieved SALT score ≤20 at Week 52 (Week-52 responders; 2-mg: N = 65; 4-mg: N = 129) and baricitinib 4-mg-treated patients who had SALT score >20 at Week 52 but achieved SALT score ≤20 at prior visit(s) and/or had significant improvement in eyebrow or eyelash hair growth relative to baseline by Week 52 (Week-52 mixed responders; N = 110). Week-104 outcomes included the proportion of patients achieving SALT score ≤20 (≤20% scalp hair loss). Data were censored after treatment discontinuation. RESULTS: Among baricitinib 4-mg-treated and baricitinib 2-mg-treated Week-52 responders, 90.7% and 89.2%, respectively, maintained SALT score ≤20 at Week 104. Among Week-52 mixed responders, 39.1% reached SALT score ≤20 by Week 104. Continued improvement in eyebrow and eyelash regrowth was observed across groups. The most frequent treatment-emergent adverse events were COVID-19, upper respiratory tract infection, headache, nasopharyngitis, acne, urinary tract infection and creatine phosphokinase increase. CONCLUSIONS: Baricitinib demonstrated a high level of maintenance of efficacy over 104 weeks in patients with severe AA. Efficacy increased in Week-52 mixed responders, illustrating that long-term treatment is necessary to observe maximum benefit in some patients. No new safety signals were observed.

RESUMO

Obesity is associated with chronic persistent inflammation due to a pool of tissue macrophages that can penetrate the blood-brain barrier and cause neuroinflammation. The analysis of the association of CD14+CD163+ monocytes in the peripheral blood with cognitive functions in 56 obese children (mean age 11.95 (9.45; 14.45) years) was carried out. The control group consisted of 10 children (mean age 10.4 (9.3; 13.8) years). Standard deviation of the body mass index (SDS BMI) and height (SDS height) were calculated using WHO AnthroPlus software (for children of 6-19 years). Body composition was assessed using bioimpedance measurement. Mononuclear cells were isolated from whole blood by centrifugation on a Ficoll-Urografin density gradient (ρ=1.077 g/ml). The content of CD14+CD163+ monocytes in the peripheral blood was assessed by flow cytometry. To analyze cognitive functions, the intelligence coefficient (IQ) was calculated and a Russian adaptation of the Rey test was performed. We found an increase in the number of M2-polarized CD14+CD163+ monocytes in the peripheral blood with an increase in the obesity degree and in the presence of cognitive decline, as well as a negative correlation of the level of M2-polarized monocytes and IQ, taking into account the excess of visceral fat. The revealed data on the relationship of M2-polarized CD14+CD163+ peripheral blood monocytes with obesity in children and the development of neuropsychological deficiency confirm the role of peripheral visceral obesity and neuroinflammation.

RESUMO

We studied the expression of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1), androgen receptor (AR) and luteinizing hormone receptor (LHR) in the ovaries under the conditions of the modeling and subsequent treatment of functional ovarian cysts with gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist (ant-GnRH). The intensity of IGF-1, LHR, and AR expression in the generative elements of rat ovaries changed under conditions of functional ovarian cysts simulation, as well as during treatment with ant-GnRH. In both experimental groups, the expression levels of the studied markers in preantral follicles and epithelial lining of cysts were found to be related to the number of growing follicles and cysts. A divergence of LHR and AR expression indices and a more pronounced decrease in the number of cystic cavities were observed in the group receiving ant-GnRH. These changes demonstrate a positive effect of ant-GnRH on intra-ovarian regulatory factors and a therapeutic effect in functional ovarian cysts.

RESUMO

The morphofunctional features of the ovaries were evaluated in rats with functional ovarian cysts model treated with gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist. Administration of the antagonist significantly (p=0.009) reduced the number of cysts and the growth of follicles in the ovaries. The obtained results attest to a possibility of successful treatment of functional ovarian cysts with gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To analyze the efficacy of intraductal radiofrequency ablation (RFA) for neoplasms of the major duodenal papilla with intraductal spread. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Eleven patients with adenomas of the major duodenal papilla and intraductal spread underwent intraductal RFA between 2022 and 2023. Spread to the common bile duct ranged from 10 to 30 mm, to the main pancreatic duct - from 5 to 11 mm. RESULTS: Technical success was achieved in all cases. Complications after intraductal RFA occurred in 4 cases (post-manipulation pancreatitis - 2 cases, repeated intraductal RFA for residual adenomatous growths - 2 cases). Technical success of stenting of the main pancreatic and common bile ducts was achieved in all cases. CONCLUSION: Intraductal radiofrequency ablation for neoplasms of the major duodenal papilla with intraductal spread ensured complete destruction of intraductal tumor with adequate clinical effect and no need for highly traumatic surgery.

RESUMO

All adenomas of the major duodenal papilla (MDP) require resection regardless of morphological structure due to high risk of malignancy. Currently, intraluminal endoscopic interventions are preferable for these adenomas. MDP neoplasms with intraductal spread (type III and IV) are of particular difficulty for endoscopic techniques. Intraductal radiofrequency ablation provides new opportunities for minimally invasive treatment of patients with MDP adenomas and intraductal component. A 72-year-old patient after previous endoscopic papillectomy for MDP adenoma admitted to the Vishnevsky National Research Medical Center of Surgery due to residual adenomatous growths within the papillectomy zone extending to the common bile duct throughout 13 mm. The patient underwent intraductal RFA under endosonography and cholangioscopy. Despite difficult localization of residual growths extending to the common bile duct, endosonography-guided intraductal RFA provided total destruction of residual tumor that was confirmed by cholangioscopy. Length of treatment was 4 months, relapse-free period - 10 months. Minimally invasive endoscopic technology for residual MDP adenoma provided good clinical results.

RESUMO

Zenker diverticulum is a rare disease accounting for 1.5-5% of esophageal diverticula. For a long time, surgical treatment of Zenker pharyngoesophageal diverticula implied open diverticulectomy via cervical approach. However, this intervention is characterized by high postoperative morbidity and recurrence rate. Oral endoscopic minimally invasive cricopharyngoesophagomyotomy has become widespread over the past 10 years. We present a 55-year-old female who underwent endoscopic treatment for recurrent Zenker diverticulum and postoperative esophageal stricture. We obtained favorable result in a patient with recurrent Zenker diverticulum after previous open surgeries complicated by esophageal stricture. Endoscopic management eliminated recurrent diverticulum and esophageal stricture, as well as improved the quality of life. Endoscopic approach is preferable for pharynoesophageal diverticula compared to traditional surgical diverticulectomy. Obvious advantages of this technique are stable functional result, low incidence of complications and mortality, short-term postoperative period with fast rehabilitation. Extended myotomy is essential for successful oral endoscopic cricopharyngoesophagomyotomy.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Treatment of patients with prolonged and permanent disturbance of consciousness is still an extremely difficult problem. Nowadays, management is based on pathophysiological and molecular mechanisms of impaired consciousness. Several electrophysiological and pharmacological methods were proposed to restore consciousness in appropriate patients. OBJECTIVE: We present recovery of clear consciousness under therapy with phenazepam and literature review devoted to therapy of these disorders. RESULTS AND CONCLUSION: This case confirms available data on drug neuromodulation in complex treatment of patients with prolonged impairment of consciousness and substantiates the need for individual multimodal assessment of structural and functional disorders in prolonged and chronic impairment of consciousness for adequate therapy.

RESUMO

The number of middle-aged and elderly population is increasing every year. At the same time, the course of most chronic diseases worsens with age, which can be explained by significant changes in body composition, including redistribution and increase of fat mass and decrease in muscle and skeletal mass. Thus, a decrease in muscle mass becomes intrinsic for the body from the age of 40 and develops on average by 0.5-1.0% per year. The prevalence of patients with sarcopenia is estimated to be between 11 and 50% in different age groups of population: middle, elderly and senile. In addition, the decline in physical activity associated with the urbanization and automation of labor exacerbates the disease at a younger age, which predicts an increase in the number of such patients in the future. OBJECTIVE: To determine the role of physical rehabilitation in sarcopenia. MATERIAL AND METHODS: A systematic review including studies found in PubMed, MedLine, Scopus and Web of Science Core Collections databases for 2019-2022 was conducted. The used enrollment criteria were the following: systematic reviews, including cross-over or cohort studies targeting at persons aged from 40 to 90 years of both sexes, with available data on sarcopenia, its severe form or other combinations of physical performance markers called sarcopenia. The mandatory parameter for inclusion in the study was the presence of the effectiveness assessment of physical rehabilitation without limiting its parameters. The systematic review was performed in accordance with the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) 2020. RESULTS: The best kind of training are 30-60-minute comprehensive methods with predominance of resistance exercises with minimum duration of the course of 3 months and frequency of 3 inconsistent in-person trainings per week under the supervision of a specialist for patients with sarcopenia in order to increase muscle strength and mass, as well as performance. The intensity should consist of the following parameters: start with fewer sets but more repetitions (12-15) with less intensity (55% of maximum) and move to more sets with less repetition (4-6) and greater intensity (>80% of maximum). CONCLUSION: This article describes the parameters of exercises that are most effective in terms of muscle strength and mass increase and safe for patients. The compilation and further study of this complex in practice are needed.

RESUMO

INTRODUCTION: We report herein the impact of focal therapy (FT) on multi-domain functional outcomes in a Phase II prospective clinical trial (NCT04138914) in focal cryotherapy for clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa). METHODS: The primary outcome was the detection of a ≥5 point deterioration in any of the four main expanded prostate index composite (EPIC) functional domains. Pretreatment multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging (mpMRI) and transperineal targeted and systematic saturation biopsy were used to select patients with prostate-specific antigen (PSA)≤20 ng/mL, Gleason grade group (GG) ≤4, mpMRI lesion volume ≤ 3 mL (for a single lesion) or ≤1.5 mL (where two lesions were present). Focal cryotherapy was performed with a minimum 5 mm margin around each target lesion. EPIC scores were obtained at baseline and posttreatment at 1, 3, 6, and 12 months. Mandatory repeat mpMRI and prostate biopsy were performed at 12 months to determine the infield and outfield recurrence. RESULTS: Twenty-eight patients were recruited. The mean age was 68 years, with PSA of 7.3 ng/mL and PSA density of 0.19 ng/mL2 . No Clavien-Dindo ≥3 complications occurred. Transient worsening of EPIC urinary (mean diff 16.0, p < 0.001, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 8.8-23.6) and sexual function scores (mean diff 11.0, p:0.005, 95% CI: 4.0-17.7) were observed at 1-month posttreatment, with recovery by Month 3. A subgroup who had ablation extending to the neurovascular bundle had a trend to delayed recovery of sexual function to Month 6. At 12-month repeat mpMRI and biopsy, 22 patients (78.6%) had no detectable csPCa. Of the six patients (21.4%) who had csPCa recurrences, four were GG2, one GG3, and one GG4. Four patients underwent repeat FT, one underwent radical prostatectomy, while the remaining one patient with low-volume GG2 cancer opted for active surveillance. CONCLUSION: FT using cryotherapy was associated with a transient deterioration of urinary and sexual function with resolution at 3 months posttreatment and with reasonable early efficacy in well-selected csPCa patients.

RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM) are a group of autoimmune diseases characterised by myositis-related autoantibodies plus infiltration of leucocytes into muscles and/or the skin, leading to the destruction of blood vessels and muscle fibres, chronic weakness and fatigue. While complement-mediated destruction of capillary endothelia is implicated in paediatric and adult dermatomyositis, the complex diversity of complement C4 in IIM pathology was unknown. METHODS: We elucidated the gene copy number (GCN) variations of total C4, C4A and C4B, long and short genes in 1644 Caucasian patients with IIM, plus 3526 matched healthy controls using real-time PCR or Southern blot analyses. Plasma complement levels were determined by single radial immunodiffusion. RESULTS: The large study populations helped establish the distribution patterns of various C4 GCN groups. Low GCNs of C4T (C4T=2+3) and C4A deficiency (C4A=0+1) were strongly correlated with increased risk of IIM with OR equalled to 2.58 (2.28-2.91), p=5.0×10-53 for C4T, and 2.82 (2.48-3.21), p=7.0×10-57 for C4A deficiency. Contingency and regression analyses showed that among patients with C4A deficiency, the presence of HLA-DR3 became insignificant as a risk factor in IIM except for inclusion body myositis (IBM), by which 98.2% had HLA-DR3 with an OR of 11.02 (1.44-84.4). Intragroup analyses of patients with IIM for C4 protein levels and IIM-related autoantibodies showed that those with anti-Jo-1 or with anti-PM/Scl had significantly lower C4 plasma concentrations than those without these autoantibodies. CONCLUSIONS: C4A deficiency is relevant in dermatomyositis, HLA-DRB1*03 is important in IBM and both C4A deficiency and HLA-DRB1*03 contribute interactively to risk of polymyositis.

RESUMO

We report the observation of a set of coherent high frequency electromagnetic fluctuations that leads to a turbulence induced self-regulating phenomenon in the DIII-D high bootstrap current fraction plasma. The fluctuations have frequency of 130-220 kHz, the poloidal wavelength and phase velocity are 16-30 m^{-1} and ∼30 km/s, respectively, in the outboard midplane with the estimated toroidal mode number n∼5-9. The fluctuations are located in the internal transport barrier (ITB) region at large radius and are experimentally validated to be kinetic ballooning modes (KBM). Quasilinear estimation predicts the KBM to be able to drive experimental particle flux and non-negligible thermal flux, suggesting its significant role in regulating the ITB saturation.

RESUMO

Neutrinoless double beta decay (0νßß) is a yet unobserved nuclear process that would demonstrate Lepton number violation, a clear evidence of beyond standard model physics. The process two neutrino double beta decay (2νßß) is allowed by the standard model and has been measured in numerous experiments. In this Letter, we report a measurement of 2νßß decay half-life of ^{100}Mo to the ground state of ^{100}Ru of [7.07±0.02(stat)±0.11(syst)]×10^{18} yr by the CUPID-Mo experiment. With a relative precision of ±1.6% this is the most precise measurement to date of a 2νßß decay rate in ^{100}Mo. In addition, we constrain higher-order corrections to the spectral shape, which provides complementary nuclear structure information. We report a novel measurement of the shape factor ξ_{3,1}=0.45±0.03(stat)±0.05(syst) based on a constraint on the ratio of higher-order terms from theory, which can be reliably calculated. This is compared to theoretical predictions for different nuclear models. We also extract the first value for the effective axial vector coupling constant obtained from a spectral shape study of 2νßß decay.

RESUMO

A new dark sector antibaryon, denoted ψ_{D}, could be produced in decays of B mesons. This Letter presents a search for B^{+}→ψ_{D}+p (and the charge conjugate) decays in e^{+}e^{-} annihilations at 10.58 GeV, using data collected in the BABAR experiment. Data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 398 fb^{-1} are analyzed. No evidence for a signal is observed. Branching fraction upper limits in the range from 10^{-7}-10^{-5} are obtained at 90% confidence level for masses of 1.0

RESUMO

Nonribosomal peptides play an important role in the vital activity of bacteria and have an extremely broad field of biological activity. In particular, they act as antibiotics, toxins, surfactants, siderophores, and also perform a number of other specific functions. Biosynthesis of these molecules does not occur on ribosomes but by special enzymes that form gene clusters in bacterial genomes. We hypothesized that the presence of nonribosomal peptide synthesis pathways is a specific feature of bacterial metabolism, which may affect other vital processes of the cell, including translational ones. This work was the first to show the relationship between the translation regulation mechanism of protein-coding genes in bacteria, which is largely determined by the efficiency of translation elongation, and the presence of gene clusters in the genomes for the biosynthesis of nonribosomal peptides. Bioinformatic analysis of the translation elongation efficiency of protein-coding genes was performed in 11679 bacterial genomes, some of which contained gene clusters of nonribosomal peptide biosynthesis and some of which did not. The analysis showed that bacteria whose genomes contained clusters of nonribosomal peptide biosynthetic genes and those without such gene clusters differ significantly in the molecular mechanisms that ensure translation efficiency. Thus, among microorganisms whose genomes contain gene clusters of nonribosomal peptide synthetases, a significantly smaller part of them is characterized by optimized regulation of the number of local inverted repeats, while most of them have genomes optimized by the averaged energy of inverted repeats studs in mRNA and additionally by codon composition. Our results suggest that the presence of nonribosomal peptide biosynthetic pathways in bacteria may influence the structure of the overall bacterial metabolism, which is also expressed in the specific mechanisms of ribosomal protein biosynthesis.

RESUMO

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the clinicopathological characteristics and factors influencing the prognosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) in oral and maxillofacial regions. METHODS: Clinicopathological data of 369 patients with oral and maxillofacial NHL initially diagnosed in Peking University Hospital of Stomatology from 2008 to 2020 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. RESULTS: There were 180 males and 189 females. The median age of the patients was 56 years (3 months to 92 years), and the median duration was three months. Clinically, 283 cases manifested as mass, 38 cases as ulcerative necrotizing lesions, and 48 cases as diffuse soft tissue swelling. The lesions of 90 cases located in face and neck (75 cases neck, 20.3%), 99 cases were of major salivary glands (79 cases parotid glands, 20.9%), 103 cases of oral cavity, 50 cases of maxillofacial bones, 20 cases of Waldeyer's ring, and 7 cases of infratemporal fossa. In the study, 247 of the 369 patients had cervical lymphadenopathy, only 40 cases had B symptoms, and 23 cases had the bulky disease. Of the 369 NHLs, 299 (81%) were B-cell NHL, and 70(19%) were T-cell NHL. Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue, follicular lymphoma, and extranodal natural killer (NK)/T-cell lymphoma nasal type were the most common pathological subtypes. According to Ann Arbor staging, 87, 138, 106, and 38 cases were classified as staged Ⅰ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ, Ⅳ, respectively. The me-dian follow-up time was 48 months, 164 patients died during the follow-up period. The overall survival rates for one year, two years, and five years were 90.1%, 82.4%, and 59.9%, respectively, and the median survival was (86.00±7.98) months. Multivariate analysis showed that age (P < 0.001), Ann Arbor staging (P < 0.001), elevated lactate dehydrogenase (P=0.014), and pathological subtype (P=0.049) were the independent factors influencing the overall survival rate of NHL patients. CONCLUSION: Oral and maxillofacial NHL has unique clinical characteristics and distribution patterns of pathological subtypes. Fewer patients had systemic symptoms. Neck and parotid glands were the most common sites invaded by NHL. Advanced age, Ann Arbor stage Ⅲ-Ⅳ, B symptoms, and T-cell NHL may predict a poor prognosis in oral and maxillofacial NHL patients.

RESUMO

Sialolithiasis occurs in approximately 0.45% to 1.20% of the general population. The typical clinical symptom manifests as a painful swelling of the affected glands after a meal or upon salivary stimulation, which extremely affects the life quality of the patients. With the development of sialendoscopy and lithotripsy, most sialoliths can be successfully removed with preservation of the gland. However, sialoliths in the deep hilar-parenchymal submandibular ducts and impacted parotid stones located in the proximal ducts continue to pose great challenges. Our research center for salivary gland diseases (in Peking University School and Hospital of Stomatology) has used sialendoscopy for 17 years and treated >2 000 patients with salivary gland calculi. The success rate was approximately 92% for submandibular gland calculi and 95% for parotid calculi. A variety of minimally invasive surgical techniques have been applied and developed, which add substantial improvements in the treatment of refractory sialolithiasis. Further, the radiographic positioning criteria and treatment strategy are proposed for these intractable stones. Most of the hilar-parenchymal submandibular stones are successfully removed by a transoral approach, including transoral duct slitting and intraductal basket grasping, while a small portion of superficial stones can be removed by a mini-incision in submandibular area. Impacted stones located in the distal third of parotid gland ducts are removed via "peri-ostium incision", which is applied to avoid a cicatricial stenosis from a direct ostium incision. Impacted parotid stones located in the middle and proximal third of the Stensen's duct are removed via a direct mini-incision or a peri-auricular flap. A direct transcutaneous mini-incision is commonly performed under local anesthesia with an imperceptible scar, and is indicated for most of impacted stones located in the middle third, hilum and intraglandular ducts. By contrast, a peri-auricular flap is performed under general anesthesia with relatively larger operational injury of the gland parenchyma, and should be best reserved for deeper intraglandular stones. Laser lithotripsy has been applied in the treatment of sialolithiasis in the past decade, and holmium ∶YAG laser is reported to have the best therapeutic effects. During the past 3 years, our research group has performed laser lithotripsy for a few cases with intractable salivary stones. From our experiences, withdrawal of the endoscopic tip 0.5-1.0 cm away from the extremity of the laser fiber, consistent saline irrigation, and careful monitoring of gland swelling are of vital importance for avoidance of injuries of the ductal wall and the vulnerable endoscope lens during lithotripsy. Larger calculi require multiple treatment procedures. The risk of ductal stenosis can be alleviated by endoscopic dilation. In summary, appropriate use of various endoscopy-assisted lithotomy helps preserve the gland function in most of the patients with refractory sialolithiasis. Further studies are needed in the following aspects: Transcervical removal of intraglandular submandibular stones, intraductal laser lithotripsy of impacted parotid stones and deep submandibular stones, evaluation of long-term postoperative function of the affected gland, et al.

RESUMO

Objective: To investigate the effect of information management of intravenous drugs on anemia in maintenance hemodialysis patients. Methods: The information management of intravenous drugs was a management system developed by the Hemodialysis Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine Affiliated Sixth People's Hospital in April 2020. The parameters six months before and after the use of the information management system were retrospectively collected and compared, including the rate of reaching the standard of hemoglobin, ferritin, transferrin saturation rate and the incidence of cardiovascular events. Specifically, the control stage was from October 2019 to March 2020, which was before the use of information management, and the study stage was from April to September 2020, which was after the use of information management. Results: There were 285 patients (190 males and 95 females) included in the control stage, with an average age of (62.4±13.2) years, while 278 patients (193 males and 85 females) were included in the study stage, with an average age of (62.8±13.2) years. Compared with the control stage, the rate of reaching the standard of hemoglobin [47.8% (797/1 668) vs 40.2% (687/1 710), P<0.001], ferritin [39.0% (217/556) vs 31.2% (178/570), P=0.006], and transferrin saturation [64.7% (360/556) vs 58.6% (334/570), P=0.034] increased in the study stage. The incidence of cardiovascular events in the study stage was 11.2% (31/278), which was significantly lower than that in the control stage [16.5% (47/285)] (P=0.043). Conclusion: The information management of intravenous drugs in the hemodialysis center may help improve the anemia status in maintenance hemodialysis patients.

RESUMO

Phenotypic characteristics of alveolar macrophages in the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid as well as their ability to acquire the M1 and M2 phenotypes during in vitro culturing with reprogramming factors were studied in rats with modeled diet-induced metabolic syndrome. A decrease in the number of alveolar macrophages with the M1 phenotype was found in animals with metabolic syndrome. The factors of metabolic syndrome do not affect phenotypic plasticity of cells in culture, but under the action of M2 reprogramming factors, the cells demonstrate a wide range of phenotypic plasticity by the CD80 and CD206 markers. The consistently high level of production of IL-6 and IL-10 by macrophages during culturing under different conditions indicates functional rigidity of the cells, which is probably a consequence of in vivo predetermined functional phenotype of these cells against the background of metabolic disorders.
