Eukaryotic genomes are spatially organized within the nucleus in a nonrandom manner. However, fungal genome arrangement and its function in development and adaptation remain largely unexplored. Here, we show that the high-order chromosome structure of Fusarium graminearum is sculpted by both H3K27me3 modification and ancient genome rearrangements. Active secondary metabolic gene clusters form a structure resembling chromatin jets. We demonstrate that these jet-like domains, which can propagate symmetrically for 54 kb, are prevalent in the genome and correlate with active gene transcription and histone acetylation. Deletion of GCN5, which encodes a core and functionally conserved histone acetyltransferase, blocks the formation of the domains. Insertion of an exogenous gene within the jet-like domain significantly augments its transcription. These findings uncover an interesting link between alterations in chromatin structure and the activation of fungal secondary metabolism, which could be a general mechanism for fungi to rapidly respond to environmental cues, and highlight the utility of leveraging three-dimensional genome organization in improving gene transcription in eukaryotes.

The pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA) is still unclear. Fatty acid binding protein 4 (FABP4), a novel adipokine, has been found to play a role in OA. This study aimed to explore the role of NF-κB in FABP4-induced OA. In the in vivo study, four pairs of 12-week-old male FABP4 knockout (KO) and wild-type (WT) mice were included. The activation of NF-κB was assessed. In parallel, 24 6-week-old male C57/Bl6 mice were fed a high-fat diet (HFD) and randomly allocated to four groups: daily oral gavage with (1) PBS solution; (2) QNZ (NF-κB-specific inhibitor, 1 mg/kg/d); (3) BMS309403 (FABP4-specific inhibitor, 30 mg/kg/d); and (4) BMS309403 (30 mg/kg/d) + QNZ (1 mg/kg/d). The diet and treatment were sustained for 4 months. The knee joints were obtained to assess cartilage degradation, NF-κB activation, and subchondral bone sclerosis. In the in vitro study, a mouse chondrogenic cell line (ATDC5) was cultured. FABP4 was supplemented to stimulate chondrocytes, and the activation of NF-κB was investigated. In parallel, QNZ and NF-κB-specific siRNA were used to inhibit NF-κB. In vivo, the FABP4 WT mice had more significant NF-κB activation than the KO mice. Dual inhibition of FABP4 and NF-κB alleviated knee OA in mice. FABP4 has no significant effect on the activation of the JNK signaling pathway. In vitro, FABP4 directly activated NF-κB in chondrocytes. The use of QNZ and NF-κB-siRNA significantly alleviated the expression of catabolic markers of chondrocytes induced by FABP4. FABP4 induces chondrocyte degeneration by activating the NF-κB pathway.

Managed aquifer recharge (MAR) stands out as a promising strategy for ensuring water resource sustainability. This study delves into the comparative impact of nitrate (NO3-) and oxygen (O2) as electron acceptors in MAR on water quality and safety. Notably, NO3-, acting as an electron acceptor, has the potential to enrich denitrifying bacteria, serving as hosts for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) and enriching human bacterial pathogens (HBPs) compared to O2. However, a direct comparison between NO3- and O2 remains unexplored. This study assessed risks in MAR effluent induced by NO3- and O2, alongside the presence of the typical refractory antibiotic sulfamethoxazole. Key findings reveal that NO3- as an electron acceptor resulted in a 2 times reduction in dissolved organic carbon content compared to O2, primarily due to a decrease in soluble microbial product production. Furthermore, NO3- significantly enriched denitrifying bacteria, the primary hosts of major ARGs, by 747%, resulting in a 66% increase in the overall abundance of ARGs in the effluent of NO3- MAR compared to O2. This escalation was predominantly attributed to horizontal gene transfer mechanisms, as evidenced by a notable 78% increase in the relative abundance of mobile ARGs, alongside a minor 27% rise in chromosomal ARGs. Additionally, the numerous denitrifying bacteria enriched under NO3- influence also belong to the HBP category, resulting in a significant 114% increase in the abundance of all HBPs. The co-occurrence of ARGs and HBPs was also observed to intensify under NO3- influence. Thus, NO3- as an electron acceptor in MAR elevates ARG and HBP risks compared to O2, potentially compromising groundwater quality and safety.

Chlorinated polyfluorinated ether sulfonate, commercially known as F-53B, has been associated with adverse birth outcomes. However, the reproductive toxicology of F-53B on the placenta remains poorly understood. To address this gap, we examined the impact of F-53B on placental injury and its underlying molecular mechanisms in vivo. Pregnant C57BL/6 J female mice were randomly allocated to three groups: the control group, F-53B 0.8 µg/kg/day group, and F-53B 8 µg/kg/day group. After F-53B exposure through free drinking water from gestational day (GD) 0.5-14.5, the F-53B 8 µg/kg/day group exhibited significant increases in placental weights and distinctive histopathological alterations, including inflammatory cell infiltration, heightened syncytiotrophoblast knots, and a loosened trophoblastic basement membrane. Within the F-53B 8 µg/kg/day group, placental tissue exhibited increased apoptosis, as indicated by increased caspase3 activation. Furthermore, F-53B potentially induced the NF-κB signaling pathway activation through IκB-α phosphorylation. Subsequently, this activation upregulated the expression of inflammatory cytokines and components of the NLRP3 inflammasome, including activated caspase1, IL-1ß, IL-18, and cleaved gasdermin D (GSDMD), ultimately leading to pyroptosis in the mouse placenta. Our findings reveal a pronounced inflammatory injury in the placenta due to F-53B exposure, suggesting potential reproductive toxicity at concentrations relevant to the human population. Further toxicological and epidemiological investigations are warranted to conclusively assess the reproductive health risks posed by F-53B.

BACKGROUND: The interaction between the nervous system and the immune system can affect the outcome of a bacterial infection. Staphylococcus aureus skin infection is a common infectious disease, and elucidating the relationship between the nervous system and immune system may help to improve treatment strategies. RESULTS: In this study, we found that the local release of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) increased during S. aureus skin infection, and S. aureus could promote the release of CGRP from transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1 (TRPV1+) neurons in vitro. The existence of TRPV1+ neurons inhibited the recruitment of neutrophils to the infected region and regulated the polarization of macrophages toward M2 while inhibiting polarization toward M1. This reduces the level of inflammation in the infected area, which aggravates the local infection. Furthermore, this study demonstrates that TRPV1 may be a target for the treatment of S. aureus skin infections and that botulinum neurotoxin A (BoNT/A) and BIBN4096 may reverse the inhibited inflammatory effect of CGRP, making them potential therapeutics for the treatment of skin infection in S. aureus. CONCLUSIONS: In S. aureus skin infection, TRPV1+ neurons inhibit neutrophil recruitment and regulate macrophage polarization by releasing CGRP. BoNT/A and BIBN4096 may be potential therapeutic agents for S. aureus skin infection.

BACKGROUND: Light-harvesting chlorophyll a/b b evelopment of higher plants and in response to abiotic stress. Previous works has demonstrated that that Lhcb genes were involved in the phytochrome regulation and responded to the different light and temperature conditions in Poaceae (such as maize). However, the evolution and functions of Lhcb genes remains poorly characterized in important Rosaceae species. RESULTS: In this investigation, we conducted a genome-wide analysis and identified a total of 212 Lhcb genes across nine Rosaceae species. Specifically, we found 23 Lhcb genes in Fragaria vesca, 20 in Prunus armeniaca, 33 in Malus domestica 'Gala', 21 in Prunus persica, 33 in Rosa chinensis, 29 in Pyrus bretschneideri, 18 in Rubus occidentalis, 20 in Prunus mume, and 15 in Prunus salicina. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that the Lhcb gene family could be classified into seven major subfamilies, with members of each subfamily sharing similar conserved motifs. And, the functions of each subfamily was predicted based on the previous reports from other species. The Lhcb proteins were highly conserved within their respective subfamilies, suggesting similar functions. Interestingly, we observed similar peaks in Ks values (0.1-0.2) for Lhcb genes in apple and pear, indicating a recent whole genome duplication event (about 30 to 45 million years ago). Additionally, a few Lhcb genes underwent tandem duplication and were located across all chromosomes of nine species of Rosaceae. Furthermore, the analysis of the cis-acting elements in the 2000 bp promoter region upstream of the pear Lhcb gene revealed four main categories: light response correlation, stress response correlation, hormone response correlation, and plant growth. Quantitative expression analysis demonstrated that Lhcb genes exhibited tissue-specific expression patterns and responded differently to low-temperature stress in Rosaceae species. CONCLUSIONS: These findings shed light on the evolution and phylogeny of Lhcb genes in Rosaceae and highlight the critical role of Lhcb in pear's response to low temperatures. The results obtained provide valuable insights for further investigations into the functions of Lhcb genes in Rosaceae, and these functional genes will be used for further fruit tree breeding and improvement to cope with the current climate changes.

Citrus melanose, caused by Diaporthe citri, is one of the most important and widespread fungal diseases of citrus. Previous studies demonstrated that the citrus host was able to trigger the defense response to restrict the spread of D. citri. However, the molecular mechanism underlying this defense response has yet to be elucidated. Here, we used RNA-Seq to explore the gene expression pattern at the early (3 days post infection, dpi) and late (14 dpi) infection stages of citrus leaves in response to D. citri infection, and outlined the differences in transcriptional regulation associated with defense responses. The functional enrichment analysis indicated that the plant cell wall biogenesis was significantly induced at the early infection stage, while the callose deposition response was more active at the late infection stage. CYP83B1 genes of the cytochrome P450 family were extensively induced in the callus deposition-mediated defense response. Remarkably, the gene encoding pectin methylesterase showed the highest upregulation and was only found to be differentially expressed at the late infection stage. Genes involved in the synthesis and regulation of phytoalexin coumarin were effectively activated. F6'H1 and S8H, encoding key enzymes in the biosynthesis of coumarins and their derivatives, were more strongly expressed at the late infection stage than at the early infection stage. Collectively, our study profiled the response pattern of citrus leaves against D. citri infection and provided the transcriptional evidence to support the defense mechanism.

Single photons are pivotal building blocks for photonic quantum technologies. Semiconductor quantum dots are promising candidates for optimal single photon sources in terms of purity, brightness and indistinguishability. Here we embed quantum dots into bullseye cavities with a backside dielectric mirror to enhance the collection efficiency up to near 90%. Experimentally, we achieve a collection efficiency of 30%. The auto-correlation measurements reveal a multiphoton probability below 0.05±0.005. A moderate Purcell factor of 3.1 is observed. Furthermore, we propose a scheme for laser integration as well as fiber coupling. Our results represent a step forward to the practical plug-and-play single photon sources.

BACKGROUND: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) blended with early rehabilitation on the diaphragm and skeletal muscle in sufferers on mechanical ventilation (MV). METHOD: This is a prospective randomized controlled study. Eighty patients on MV for respiratory failure were divided into a study group (40 cases) and a control group (40 cases) randomly. The study group adopted a treatment method of NMES combined with early rehabilitation and the control group adopted the method of early rehabilitation only. The diaphragmatic excursion (DE), diaphragmatic thickening fraction (DTF), variation of thickness of intercostal muscles (TIM), variation of thickness of rectus abdominis (TRA), and variation of the cross-sectional area of rectus femoris (CSA-RF) were measured to evaluate the therapeutic effect by ultrasound before and after intervention at the first day of MV, the 3rd and 7th day of intervention and the day discharged from ICU. RESULTS: No significant difference was found in the general demographic information and ultrasound indicators between the two groups before treatment (all P > 0.05). After treatment, the variation of DTF (0.15 ± 0.05% vs. 0.12 ± 0.04%, P = 0.034) was significantly higher in the study group than that in the control group on the day discharged from ICU. The variation of TRA (0.05 ± 0.09% vs. 0.10 ± 0.11%, P = 0.029) and variation of CSA-RF (0.13 ± 0.07% vs. 0.19 ± 0.08%, P < 0.001) in the study group were significantly lower than that in the control group. The duration of MV in the study group was significantly shorter than that in the control group [109.5 (88.0, 213.0) hours vs. 189.5 (131.5, 343.5) hours, P = 0.023]. The study group had better muscle strength score than the control group at discharge (52.20 ± 11.70 vs. 44.10 ± 15.70, P = 0.011). CONCLUSION: NMES combined with early rehabilitation therapy is beneficial in reducing muscle atrophy and improving muscle strength in mechanically ventilated patients. This treatment approach may provide a new option for patients to choose a rehabilitation program; however, more research is needed to fully evaluate the effectiveness of this treatment option.

Sweetpotato variety breeding is always a long process. Screening of hybrid offspring is dominated by empirical judgment in this process. Data analysis and decision fatigue have been troubling breeders. In recent years, the low-efficiency screening mode has been unable to meet the requirements of sweetpotato germplasm innovation. Therefore, it is necessary to construct a high-efficiency method that can screen germplasms for different usages, for mining elite genotypes, and to create dedicated sweetpotato varieties. In this article, the multicriteria decision-making (MCDM) model was constructed based on six agronomic traits, including fresh root yield, vine length, vine diameter, branch number, root number and the spatial distribution of storage roots, and five quality traits, including dry matter content, marketable root yield, uniformity of roots, starch content and the edible quality score. Among these, the edible quality score was calculated by using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation to integrate the sensory scores of color, odor, sweetness, stickiness and fibrous taste. The MCDM model was compared with the traditional screening method via an evaluation in 25 sweetpotato materials. The interference of subjective factors on the evaluation results was significantly reduced. The MCDM model is more overall, more accurate and faster than the traditional screening method in the selection of elite sweetpotato materials. It could be programmed to serve the breeders in combination with the traditional screening method.

GelStereo sensing technology is capable of performing three-dimensional (3D) contact shape measurement under various contact structures such as bionic curved surfaces, which has promising advantages in the field of visuotactile sensing. However, due to multi-medium ray refraction in the imaging system, robust and high-precision tactile 3D reconstruction remains a challenging problem for GelStereo-type sensors with different structures. In this paper, we first propose a universal Refractive Stereo Ray Tracing (RSRT) model for GelStereo-type sensing systems to realize 3D reconstruction of the contact surface. Moreover, a relative geometry-based optimization method is presented to calibrate multiple parameters of the proposed RSRT model, such as the refractive indices and structural dimensions. Furthermore, extensive quantitative calibration experiments are performed on four different GelStereo sensing platforms; the experimental results show that the proposed calibration pipeline can achieve less than 0.35 mm in Euclidean distance error, based on which we believe that the proposed refractive calibration method can be further applied in more complex GelStereo-type and other similar visuotactile sensing systems. Such high-precision visuotactile sensors can facilitate the study of robotic dexterous manipulation.

Fiber-optic magnetic field sensors have garnered considerable attention in the field of marine monitoring due to their compact size, robust anti-electromagnetic interference capabilities, corrosion resistance, high sensitivity, ease of multiplexing and integration, and potential for large-scale sensing networks. To enable the detection of marine magnetic field vector information, we propose an optical fiber vector magnetic field sensor that integrates three single-axis sensors in an orthogonal configuration. Theoretical analysis and experimental verification are conducted to investigate its magnetic field and temperature sensing characteristics, and a sensitivity matrix is established to address the cross-sensitivity between the magnetic field and temperature; experimental tests were conducted to assess the vector response of the three-dimensional (3D) vector sensor across the three orthogonal axes; the obtained experimental results illustrate the commendable magnetic field vector response exhibited by the sensor in the orthogonal axes, enabling precise demodulation of vector magnetic field information. This sensor presents several advantages, including cost-effectiveness, easy integration, and reliability vectorially. Consequently, it holds immense potential for critical applications in marine magnetic field network detection.

The MYB transcription factor superfamily includes key regulators of plant development and responses to environmental changes. The diversity of lifestyles and morphological characteristics exhibited by plants are potentially associated with the genomic dynamics of the MYB superfamily. With the release of the plant genomes, a comprehensive phylogenomic analysis of the MYB superfamily across Viridiplantae is allowed. The present study performed phylogenetic, phylogenomic, syntenic, horizontal gene transfer, and neo/sub-functionalization analysis of the MYB superfamily to explore the evolutionary contributions of MYB members to species diversification, trait formation, and environmental adaptation in 437 different plant species. We identified major changes in copy number variation and genomic context within subclades across lineages. Multiple MYB subclades showed highly conserved copy number patterns and synteny across flowering plants, whereas others were more dynamic and showed lineage-specific patterns. As examples of lineage-specific morphological divergence, we hypothesize that the gain of a MYB orthogroup associated with flower development and environmental responses and an orthogroup associated with auxin and wax biosynthesis in angiosperms were correlated with the emergence of flowering plants, unbiased neo-/sub-functionalization of gene duplicates contributed to environmental adaptation, and species-specific neo-/sub-functionalization contributed to phenotype divergence between species. Transposable element insertion in promoter regions may have facilitated the sub-/neo-functionalization of MYB genes and likely played a tissue-specific role contributing to sub-/neo-functionalization in plant root tissues. This study provides new insights into the evolutionary divergence of the MYB superfamily across major flowering and non-flowering lineages and emphasizes the need for lineage-/tissue-specific characterization to further understand trait variability and environmental adaptation.

Robinow syndrome is characterized by a triad of craniofacial dysmorphisms, disproportionate-limb short stature, and genital hypoplasia. A significant degree of phenotypic variability seems to correlate with different genes/loci. Disturbances of the noncanonical WNT-pathway have been identified as the main cause of the syndrome. Biallelic variants in ROR2 cause an autosomal recessive form of the syndrome with distinctive skeletal findings. Twenty-two patients with a clinical diagnosis of autosomal recessive Robinow syndrome were screened for variants in ROR2 using multiple molecular approaches. We identified 25 putatively pathogenic ROR2 variants, 16 novel, including single nucleotide variants and exonic deletions. Detailed phenotypic analyses revealed that all subjects presented with a prominent forehead, hypertelorism, short nose, abnormality of the nasal tip, brachydactyly, mesomelic limb shortening, short stature, and genital hypoplasia in male patients. A total of 19 clinical features were present in more than 75% of the subjects, thus pointing to an overall uniformity of the phenotype. Disease-causing variants in ROR2, contribute to a clinically recognizable autosomal recessive trait phenotype with multiple skeletal defects. A comprehensive quantitative clinical evaluation of this cohort delineated the phenotypic spectrum of ROR2-related Robinow syndrome. The identification of exonic deletion variant alleles further supports the contention of a loss-of-function mechanism in the etiology of the syndrome.

Angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy with nanoscale spatial resolution (Nano-ARPES) is a powerful tool for the investigation of electronic structures of materials and their spatial configurations. In order to capture the area of interest in Nano-ARPES measurements effectively, an optical microscope can be used to provide real space optical images as a reference. In this work, a new type of optical microscope for Nano-APRES spectrometer with a large tilt angle of ∼30 degrees and a long focal length of ∼12 mm has been designed. Large magnifications by 7 × to 20 × and a spatial resolution of 3 um have been achieved, which can effectively assist optical alignment for Nano-ARPES. In addition, the strong boundary sensitivity observed in such a tilt design demonstrates its special capability in detecting the fine features of surface coarseness.

Converting microalgal biomass residues into biochar (BC) after microalgal wastewater treatment is a popular approach that can produce an adsorbent to treat refractory organic pollutants. Moreover, the adsorption efficiency via BC is closely associated with the surface morphology, which may be determined by the composition of the microalgal biomass. However, the intrinsic relationship and advanced mechanism between the adsorption efficiency and microalgal composition have not been thoroughly investigated. In this work, four microalgal BCs were prepared from Chlamydomonas sp. QWY37 (CBC) after collection from four different growth stages of microalgal biomass during wastewater treatment. The adsorption performance for sulfamethoxazole indicates that the CBC collected in the mid-log phase (CBCL-M) possessed the best adsorption capacity (287.89 mg/g) owing to the higher decomposition of the microalgal cellular protein concentration (70%). Meanwhile, a higher protein content contributed to the largest specific surface area (42.16 m2/g), maximum pore volume (0.037 cm3/g) and abundant surface functional groups of the CBCL-M. Furthermore, based on the theoretical calculation of the structural analysis, the adsorption mechanism was a multilayer adsorption process in accordance with the Freundlich isotherm. Additionally, the strong hydrogen bond, electron donor-acceptor interaction and electrostatic attraction were the main adsorption mechanisms due to the carboxyl/ester functional groups. The results of this research provide a novel perspective on the reasonable harvest of microalgal biomass for BC fabrication and large-scale implementation of microalgal BC in future applications.

Cadmium is a persistent environmental pollutant whose neurotoxicity is of serious concern. Mitochondrial dysfunction and its mediated mitophagy and apoptosis are considered key events in Cd-induced neurological pathologies, but the exact molecular mechanism has not been fully elucidated. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between Cd-induced mitophagy and apoptosis and their role in Cd-induced neuronal death. Using the mitophagy inhibitor cyclosporine A (CsA), we found that the extent of mitophagy mediated by the PTEN-induced putative kinase protein 1 (PINK1)/E3 ubiquitin ligase (Parkin) pathway decreased, whereas the level of apoptosis and cell death increased in rat cerebral cortical neurons in vitro. Consistent with this, the knockdown of PINK1 also exacerbated Cd-induced apoptosis and neuronal death. Furthermore, the results of the in vivo experiments showed that Cd simultaneously activated both mitophagy and apoptosis and that the suppression of mitophagy by CsA aggravated Cd-induced apoptosis. In summary, our results indicate that PINK1/Parkin-mediated mitophagy exerts an important neuroprotective effect by inhibiting Cd-mediated apoptosis in rat cerebral cortical neurons both in vitro and in vivo. This work may allow the development of new therapeutic strategies for Cd-induced central nervous system disorders.

Cadmium (Cd) is a highly neurotoxic environmental pollutant. Puerarin (Pur) is a natural antioxidant isolated from Kudzu root that exhibits a powerful neuroprotective effect. Herein, we illustrated the mechanism underlying the protective effect of Pur on Cd-induced rat neurocyte injury in an in vivo rat model as well as in vitro using PC12 cells and primary rat cerebral cortical neurons. First, the results showed that Pur alleviated Cd-induced cerebral cortical pathological damage and decreased the viability of neurocytes. Furthermore, Cd activated the nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2 (Nrf2) signaling pathway, which plays a negative role in Cd-induced rat neurocyte injury. In addition, Pur alleviated Cd-induced oxidative stress by enhancing antioxidant defense, reducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and lipid peroxidation, and inhibiting activation of the Nrf2 signaling pathway in rat neurocytes. Moreover, Pur inhibited the Cd-induced mitochondrial unfolded protein response (UPRmt) in rat neurocytes. Overall, Pur alleviated Cd-induced rat neurocyte injury by alleviating Nrf2-mediated oxidative stress and inhibiting UPRmt.

UAV-based object detection has recently attracted a lot of attention due to its diverse applications. Most of the existing convolution neural network based object detection models can perform well in common object detection cases. However, due to the fact that objects in UAV images are spatially distributed in a very dense manner, these methods have limited performance for UAV-based object detection. In this paper, we propose a novel transformer-based object detection model to improve the accuracy of object detection in UAV images. To detect dense objects competently, an advanced foreground enhancement attention Swin Transformer (FEA-Swin) framework is designed by integrating context information into the original backbone of a Swin Transformer. Moreover, to avoid the loss of information of small objects, an improved weighted bidirectional feature pyramid network (BiFPN) is presented by designing the skip connection operation. The proposed method aggregates feature maps from four stages and keeps abundant information of small objects. Specifically, to balance the detection accuracy and efficiency, we introduce an efficient neck of the BiFPN network by removing a redundant network layer. Experimental results on both public datasets and a self-made dataset demonstrate the performance of our method compared to the state-of-the-art methods in terms of detection accuracy.

Hyperspectral imaging can simultaneously acquire spectral and spatial information of the samples and is, therefore, widely applied in the non-destructive detection of grain quality. Supervised learning is the mainstream method of hyperspectral imaging for pixel-level detection of mildew in corn kernels, which requires a large number of training samples to establish the prediction or classification models. This paper presents an unsupervised redundant co-clustering algorithm (FCM-SC) based on multi-center fuzzy c-means (FCM) clustering and spectral clustering (SC), which can effectively detect non-uniformly distributed mildew in corn kernels. This algorithm first carries out fuzzy c-means clustering of sample features, extracts redundant cluster centers, merges the cluster centers by spectral clustering, and finally finds the category of corresponding cluster centers for each sample. It effectively solves the problems of the poor ability of the traditional fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm to classify the data with complex structure distribution and the complex calculation of the traditional spectral clustering algorithm. The experimental results demonstrated that the proposed algorithm could describe the complex structure of mildew distribution in corn kernels and exhibits higher stability, better anti-interference ability, generalization ability, and accuracy than the supervised classification model.
