To assess the e!ectiveness of the gastroduodenitis prevention program we have developed in patients of retirement age with essential arterial hypertension who participate in the «A!ordable Medicines¼ program. PATIENTS AND

A combined (retrospective and prospective) study was conducted, in which 150 patients took part. The main group consisted of 100 patients of retirement age with essential arterial hypertension and gastroduodenitis, which arose against the background of treatment of essential arterial hypertension. The control group consisted of 50 patients of retirement age with essential arterial hypertension without gastroduodenitis. For this category of the population developed a program for the prevention of gastroduodenitis. To assess the e!ectiveness of this prevention program, an «incremental cost-benefit ratio¼ (#C$R) is used.
