Cutaneous pigmentation due to the arthropod, Cydnidae (a.k.a. burrowing bug), is increasingly being reported in the literature. The transient nature of this pigmentation probably contributes to its underreporting. We report a case of an 8-year-old girl with a sudden onset of hyperpigmented lesions on her index finger, face, and neck due to burrowing bugs. We propose the term "transient pseudo-lentigines sign" to better describe this fleeting arthropod-induced pigmentation.

Epidermal inclusion cysts (EICs) are the most common cutaneous cysts, occurring anywhere in the body but infrequently on the breast. It is usually seen in the third and fourth decades of life and very rarely seen in children. They can be either congenital or posttraumatic. Most of the EICs described in children were secondary to trauma. Congenital EIC on the breast is quite a rare entity. Thus, we herein describe two cases of congenital EIC on the breast in two infants of 3 months and 9 months of age, which to the best of our knowledge has not been reported previously.

A number of congenital and acquired dermatological diseases are known to follow lines of Blaschko. Lichen Planus (LP), commonly acquired inflammatory dermatosis, presents with various morphological forms but Blaschkoian variant is very less published in literature. We herein report a case series of six patients of various age groups with Blaschkoian LP, without any underlying predisposing factors. All these cases presented with asymptomatic to mildly pruritic, violaceous to hyperpigmented papules and plaques following the Blaschko lines. In all the patients, lesions responded well to topical steroids and oral antihistamines, leading to gradual resolution of lesions with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. Blaschkoian LP is not a rare condition and may remain under reported because of its insignificant clinical features especially the absence of pruritus. Thus, the physician should always keep this entity in mind while considering the lesions following lines of blaschko.

INTRODUCTION: Chemical peeling is a well-identified therapeutic modality for acne vulgaris (AV). Jessner's solution (JS) is a known peeling agent for acne since more than 100 years. Salicylic acid (SA) peel is a well-established peeling agent for acne. There is paucity of literature comparing the current peeling agents of choice, that is, SA with the older peeling agents, that is, JS for acne. OBJECTIVE: To compare the efficacy and safety of 30% SA vs. JS peels in treatment of mild-to-moderate facial acne in Indian patients. MATERIALS AND METHOD: A total of 40 patients with mild-to-moderate AV were enrolled for 12 weeks and were randomly divided into two groups: group 1, 30% SA peels and group 2, JS peels were performed 2 weeks apart with total of six peels in 12-week duration. Clinical improvement was assessed objectively using Michaelsson acne scores (MAS) and clinical photographs. Side effects were observed at each visit. RESULTS: At the end of therapy, improvement in MAS and percentage decrease in MAS were significantly higher in group 1 as compared to group 2. Likewise, decrease in mean comedone counts in group 1 was significantly higher as compared to group 2. However, there was no statistically significant difference in the decrease in mean papule and pustule counts between the two groups. Both the groups tolerated the peels well. CONCLUSION: Thus, 30% SA peels were more effective than JS peels in treatment of noninflammatory lesions, that is, comedones and in overall improvement of mild-to-moderate facial acne vulgaris.

Pegylated interferon α and ribavirin therapy is associated with increased incidence of various systemic and cutaneous side effects. Among the side effects of this therapy, alopecia universalis is a rarely reported side effect which causes significant cosmetic concern to the patient. We report a rare case of alopecia universalis which developed eight weeks after discontinuation of this antiviral combination therapy. This gains importance because it is essential to sensitize the treating gastroenterologist and the dermatologist regarding this rare side effect.
