[Agenesis of the diaphragm in a young adult. Apropos of a case]. / Agénésie du diaphragme chez un adulte jeune. A propos d'un cas.

We report a case of asymptomatic right diaphragm agenesis, in a 20-year-old adult hospitalized for internal bleeding. This kind of malformation is rare, particularly in adults thus it must be recognized. Imaging modalities are the main tool for diagnosis. It may be suggested by chest X-Ray US, baryum opacification and CT allow to establish a definite diagnosis depicting the herniated organs. The treatment is surgical and the prognosis is in general good.

[Extra-adrenal gland pheochromocytoma. Apropos of 3 cases and review of the literature]. / Le phéochromocytome extrasurrénalien. A propos de trois observations et revue de la littérature.

The authors report three new cases of ectopic pheochromocytoma: latero-aortic, bladder and near the kidney. From the review of the literature, they propose a diagnostic and therapeutic strategy for the management of ectopic localisation of pheochromocytoma.

[Adrenal myelolipoma]. / Le myélolipome surrénalien.

The authors report a case of myelolipoma discovered in a 57 year-old woman by ultrasonography and computed tomography. The tumour was 10 cm in diameter and weighed 350 grams. This case is discussed in the light of a review of the literature.

[Melanotic schwannoma. A case with review of the literature]. / Le schwannome mélanotique. Une observation avec revue de la littérature.

The authors report a case of melanotic schwannoma in a 46-year-old man after 2 years of bilateral sciatica. Surgical removal was incomplete, because of the posterior site of the tumor. The patient was alive and well, 2 years after surgical removal, with some surgical sequelae. The authors stress the diagnostic difficulties of this melanotic and review the previously reported cases in a comparative study.

[Bladder pheochromocytoma and pregnancy. A case report]. / Phéochromocytome vésical et grossesse. Une observation.

The authors report the case of a 31-year old patient who successfully completed a pregnancy despite unsuspected bladder pheochromocytoma. After delivery, the patient required care post-partum due to serious hemodynamic problems. Hypertension had been attributed to toxemia of pregnancy. The authors recall the diagnostic difficulties of tumors of this type, and the means which can be used for topographical diagnosis and the precautions to be taken before this tumor can be treated surgically.

[Extra-pulmonary thoracic hydatid cyst (Pneumology and radiology services of the Military Hospital of Tunis)]. / Kyste hydatique thoracique extra-pulmonaire (Services de pneumologie et de radiologie de l'Hopital Militaire de Tunis)]

The authors report, in a retrospective study 11 cases of thoracic extra-pulmonary hydatic cyst observed during 4 years of pneumopathology practice. They stress the rarity of this localization and the variability of the clinical data. Chest X-Ray was found no specific whereas, computed tomography led often to the right diagnosis and helped in some cases a puncture of the hydatic cyst.

[A case of bladder pheochromocytoma]. / A propos d'une observation de phéochromocytome vésical.

Phaeochromocytoma is an endocrine neuroectodermal tumour usually located in the adrenal gland, but occasionally arising in other organs. The authors report a case of a vesical phaeochromocytoma presenting with haematuria. Radiological and endoscopic investigations revealed a right laterovesical submucosal tumour. Partial cystectomy was performed. The normality of the postoperative endocrine survey suggested disappearance of the tumour and absence of any other sites.

[Recurrent multifocal periostosis in children. Report of a familial form]. / La périostose multifocale récurrente de l'enfant. A propos d'une forme familiale.

Recurrent multifocal periostosis of childhood is an infrequent disease. All cases reported to date have been sporadic. A familial form affecting three siblings is reported herein. Clinical and biologic features were similar to those described in the previously reported cases. This case is of particular interest for two reasons: 1) the pattern of familial clustering suggests autosomal recessive transmission; 2) repeated CT scans were performed in these patients (but not in previously reported cases) and demonstrated early involvement of the three bone layers, suggesting panostosis rather than periostosis.

[Thoracic computed tomography data and cytology of the bronchoalveolar lavage fluid in an adult case of Niemann-Pick disease. The physiognomy of the disease in Tunisia]. / Manifestation tomodensitométrique thoracique et cytologie du liquide de lavage broncho-alvéolaire dans un cas adulte de maladie de Nieman-Pick. From a personal observation of a case of the chronic type-B form Niemann-Pick's disease in a 23 year old adult, the authors decided to review all the Tunisian published cases. They bring to light, in a review of the literature, the pulmonary disorder that occurs during this disease and discuss the contribution of computed tomography and the value of broncho-alveolar lavage as a method of diagnosis and prognosis in this disorder.

[Hydatid cyst of the heart of multivesicle type. Apropos of a case]. / Kyste hydatique du coeur de type multivésiculaire. A propos d'un cas.

The authors report the case of a 30 year-old man on whom the diagnosis of hydatic cyst of the heart (HKC) was strongly suspected on bi-dimensional echocardiography and confirmed by surgery. This case is interesting because this HCH, completely latent clinically, was discovered by echocardiography performed in view of a localized infra-epicardic ischemia, the major contribution of bi-dimensional electrocardiography enabling to make a quick and easy anatomical and topographic diagnosis, the primary nature of this hydatic localization which does not affect any other organ, and finally the multivesicle aspect of the cyst, rather unusual in single localizations of hydatic cyst of the heart. A brief review of the literature is then presented.
