RESUMEN

The direct-drive selective compliance assembly robot arm (SCARA) is widely used in high-end manufacturing fields, as it omits the mechanical transmission structures and has the advantages of high positioning accuracy and fast movement speed. However, due to the intensifying dynamic coupling problem of structures in the direct-drive SCARA, the permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) located at the joints will take on nonstationary loads, which causes excessive internal temperature and reduces the lifetime of PMSMs. To address these issues, the lifetime prediction of PMSMs is studied. The kinematic and dynamic models of the SCARA are established to calculate the torque curve required by the PMSM in specific typical motion tasks. Additionally, considering thermal stress as the main factor affecting lifetime, accelerated degradation tests are conducted on insulation material. Then, the reliability function of the PMSM is formulated based on the accelerated degradation model. Based on the parameters and working conditions of the PMSM, the temperature field distribution is obtained through simulation. The maximum temperature is used as the reference temperature to conduct reliability evaluation and lifetime prediction of the PMSM. The research results show that for a typical point-to-point task, the PMSM can run for 102,623 h while achieving the reliability requirement of 0.99.

RESUMEN

Microbial natural products, particularly nonribosomal peptides (NRPs), have attracted significant attention due to their structural diversity and therapeutic potential. Nocardia, a genus of Actinomyces, is an important reservoir for natural products, especially NRPs. However, rediscovery is a significant challenge for mining new specialized metabolites from Nocardia, as well as from other sources. To overcome this challenge, we developed a strategy that combines comparative genomics with tandem mass-based molecular networking, which allows to efficiently discover new NRPs from Nocardia spp.. As a proof of concept, all genomes of Norcardia in NCBI database, including three strains from our lab, were compared with each other to prioritize unique biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs) in the three in-house Nocardia strains, particularly those containing nonribosomal peptide synthases (NRPSs). Subsequently, the metabolomics data of those three in-house strains were analyzed employing tandem mass-based molecular networking. This led to the identification of a known lipopeptide, nocarjamide (1), and five new congeners (2-6) of nocarjamide, as well as a new decalipopeptide, nocarlipoamide (7), along with nocardimicin, a known compound found in Nocardia. The structure of the new decalipopeptide 7 was further extensively characterized using NMR, MS/MS, Marfey's analysis, and X-ray. In addition, the biosynthesis pathways for 1-7 were proposed through bioinformatics analysis, and thus the gene clusters responsible for biosynthesizing them were confirmed. Our results indicate that this strategy enables prompt dereplication of known compounds, rapid linkage of identified compounds with their biosynthesis gene cluster, and efficient discovery of new compounds.

RESUMEN

Nocaviogua A (1) and B (2), two lipolanthines featuring a non-canonical avionin (Avi)-containing macrocycle and a long acyl chain, were identified from the mutualistic actinomycete Nocardia sp. XZ19_369, which was isolated from the nodules of sea buckthorn collected in Tibet. Their planar structures were elucidated via extensive analyses of 1D and 2D NMR, as well as HRMS data. The absolute configurations were fully elucidated by advanced Marfey's analysis and GIAO NMR calculations, representing the first time that the configurations of this family of lipolanthines have been determined. Nocaviogua A (1) exhibited weak cytotoxicity against human chronic uveal melanoma cells (UM92-1), non-small cell lung cancer (NCI-H2170), and breast cancer (MDA-MB-231). Our work provides valuable information on this burgeoning class of lipolanthines for further investigations.

RESUMEN

Non-structural carbohydrates (NSCs) are labile components in forest litter that can be released quickly at the early stage of litter decomposition and accelerate the metabolic turnover of soil microorganisms, which is essential for the formation of forest soil organic matter. Therefore, understanding the NSCs response mechanisms to forest litter at different altitudes is critical for understanding nutrient cycling in the forest soil under climate change conditions. In this study, we used the net bag decomposition method to observe the dynamics of NSCs release in Chinese fir topsoil and canopy litter at four altitudes for 360 days based on the climatic zone characteristics distributed vertically along the elevation of Wuyi Mountain. The release of NSCs in Chinese fir litter rise gradually with height increases during the decomposition. The difference of the cumulative release percentage of soluble sugar between different altitudes is more significant than that of starch. The response of the NSC content in different treatment groups at four altitudes are different. The release of NSCs in the leaf canopy litter is higher than that in the leaf topsoil litter. On the contrary, the release of NSCs in the mixture of leaf and twig topsoil litter is higher than that in the mixture of leaf and twig canopy litter. Taken together, this study is of great significance for a comprehensive understanding of the effect of climate change on NSCs during the decomposition of Chinese fir litter.

RESUMEN

Poor mechanical properties and durability of recycled aggregate concrete (RAC) hinder its application in the construction field. In this study, pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate was used as the internal curing material for prepared RAC with low water-to-binder ratio (W/B), aiming to improve the mechanical properties and durability. The results show that the workability decreases with increasing contents of pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate. The variation in compressive strength of RAC with different contents of pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate is obvious within 28 d. After 28 d, the effect of internal curing of pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate starts to occur, causing a sustained increase in compressive strength. The sealed concrete with 50% and 75% pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate contents presents the highest compressive strength and better internal curing effect. The pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate decreases the relative humidity inside the concrete and effectively inhibits the development of shrinkage in the early stages. The RAC with pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate presents little effect on the drying shrinkage. Additionally, the electric flux of RAC cured for 28 d increases from 561C to 1001C, which presents good resistance to chloride permeation. Microscopic tests indicate that the incorporation of pre-wetted recycled coarse aggregate is beneficial to the improvements of internal structure of RAC.

RESUMEN

Poor biological attachment of artificial reef (AR) prepared by the recycled aggregate limit the application in the area of marine engineering. In this study, the waste oyster shell (WOS) was used as raw materials to prepare the recycled aggregate porous concrete (RAPC), the compressive strength, split tensile strength, chloride penetration resistance, freezing-thawing resistance, low temperature resistance, and the biological attachment were tested, aiming to improve the biological attachment and decrease carbon dioxide emission. The experiment results demonstrate that the use of WOS can decrease the compressive and split tensile strength, but the effect of designed porous structure on the mechanical strength is higher than that of WOS. To ensure the durability of RAPC, the contents of WOS should not exceed 20%. Additionally, the addition of WOS and designed porous structure are beneficial to biological attachment. However, the porous structure of RAPC only improves biological attachment in the short term, and the reverse phenomenon is true in the long term. As the partial replacement of cement with WOS is 40%, the total carbon dioxide emission decreases by about 52%. In conclusion, the use of WOS in the RAPC is an eco-friendly method in the artificial reef (AR) with improved ecological attachment and reduced carbon dioxide emission.

RESUMEN

We performed a meta-analysis to evaluate the effect of Chinese herbal topical medicine, acupuncture, and moxibustion on pressure ulcer wound healing. A systematic literature search up to January 2022 was done and 13 studies included 1073 subjects with pressure ulcer wound at the start of the study; 593 of them were using traditional Chinese medicine treatments, and 480 were control for pressure ulcer wound. We calculated the odds ratio (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) to evaluate the effect of Chinese herbal topical medicine, acupuncture, and moxibustion on pressure ulcer wound healing by the dichotomous methods with a random or fixed-influence model. Traditional Chinese medicine treatments had significantly higher complete healing (OR, 5.94; 95% CI, 3.94-8.95, P < .001), and curative ratio post-treatment (OR, 4.79; 95% CI, 2.62-8.76, P < .001) compared with control for subjects with pressure ulcer wound. Traditional Chinese medicine treatments had a significantly higher complete healing and curative ratio post-treatment compared with control for subjects with pressure ulcer wounds. Further studies are needed to validate these findings.

RESUMEN

Not all individuals age at the same rate. Methods such as the 'methylation clock' are invasive, rely on expensive assays of tissue samples and infer the ageing rate by training on chronological age, which is used as a reference for prediction errors. Here, we develop models based on convoluted neural networks through training on non-invasive three-dimensional (3D) facial images of approximately 5,000 Han Chinese individuals that achieve an average difference between chronological or perceived age and predicted age of ±2.8 and 2.9 yr, respectively. We further profile blood transcriptomes from 280 individuals and infer the molecular regulators mediating the impact of lifestyle on the facial-ageing rate through a causal-inference model. These relationships have been deposited and visualized in the Human Blood Gene Expression-3D Facial Image (HuB-Fi) database. Overall, we find that humans age at different rates both in the blood and in the face, but do so coherently and with heterogeneity peaking at middle age. Our study provides an example of how artificial intelligence can be leveraged to determine the perceived age of humans as a marker of biological age, while no longer relying on prediction errors of chronological age, and to estimate the heterogeneity of ageing rates within a population.

RESUMEN

Pursuing nonprecious doped carbon with Pt-like electrocatalytic N2H4 oxidation activity for hydrazine fuel cells (HzFCs) remains a challenge. Herein, we present a Fe/N-doped carbon (Fe-NC) catalyst with mesopore-rich channel and highly dispersed Fe-N sites incorporated in N-doped carbon, as an analogue of hydrazine dehydrogenase (HDH), showing the structure-dependent activity for electrocatalytic oxidation of N2H4. The maximal turnover frequency of the N2H4 oxidation reaction (HzOR) over the Fe-N sites (62870 h-1) is 149-fold that over the pyridinic-N sites of N-doped carbon. The Fe mass activity of HzOR and maximal power density of HzFCs driven by Fe-NC approximately surpass those of Pt/C by 2.3 and 2.2 times, respectively. Theoretical calculation reveals that the Fe-N sites improve the dehydrogenation process of HzOR-related intermediates. One of the roles of the mesoporous structure in Fe-NC resembles that of a substrate channel in HDH for enhancing the transport of N2H4 besides exposing Fe-N sites and improving storage capacity of HzOR-related species.

RESUMEN

Rapid setting and low viscosity of sulphoaluminate cement (SAC) make it difficult to be extruded by 3D printing (3DP) technique. In this study, the effect of tartaric acid (TA) on printability, rheology and mechanical property of 3DP SAC paste is investigated. The experimental results indicate that the setting time, hydration evolution and apparent viscosity of SAC paste can be well controlled by adding a proper amount of TA to satisfy the requirements of 3DP. An excellent structure of SAC paste with the ultimate deformation rate less than 10% can be printed without compromising mechanical strength.
