RESUMEN

Alkaloid-based urea derivatives were produced with high yield through the reaction of anabasine and cytisine with isoxazolylphenylcarbamates in boiling benzene. Their antitumor activity, in combination with the commonly used five anticancer drugs, namely cyclophosphane, fluorouracil, etoposide, cisplatin, ribomustine with different mechanisms of action, was investigated. Based on the quantum chemical calculations data and molecular docking, hypotheses have been put forward to explain their mutual influence when affecting C6 rat glioma model cells.

RESUMEN

A series of N-acyl derivatives of anabasine and cytisine were prepared, to discover novel, natural product-based medicinal agents. All synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial, antifungal, antiviral and analgesic activity. The most pronounced antibacterial activity was shown by the compounds with isoxazole fragments, while the adamantane derivatives showed the greatest antiviral effect. It was found that the majority of anabasine derivatives showed significant analgesic activity, reducing the pain response of animals to the irritating effect of acetic acid. The presence of a high level of antimicrobial and antiviral activity in newly synthesized compounds makes it possible to consider them promising for further study of their pharmacological properties.

RESUMEN

An efficient method of producing quinine derivatives via reaction of acylation with 4,5-dichloroisothiazole-3-, 5-arylisoxazole-3-, adamantane- and hydrochlorides of pyridine-3- and pyridine-4-carbonyl chlorides was developed. All synthesized compounds were tested for antiviral, antimicrobial and analgesic activity. The most pronounced antibacterial activity was shown by the compounds 2e, 3b, 3c and 3e with isoxazole and pyridine fragments. It was found that most of the tested compounds showed significant analgesic activity reducing the pain response of animals to the irritating effect of acetic acid.

RESUMEN

We report for the first time cyclic phosphine-free "head to tail" N,N,N pincer-like (pincer complexes mimicking) N-(pyrimidin-2-yl)-1,2-azole-3-carboxamide Pd(II) complexes with deprotonated amide groups as high-turnover catalysts (TON up to 106, TOF up to 1.2 × 107 h-1) for cross-coupling reactions on the background of up to quantitative yields under Green Chemistry conditions. The potency of the described catalyst family representatives was demonstrated in Suzuki-Miyaura, Mizoroki-Heck, and Sonogashira reactions on industrially practical examples. Corresponding ligands could be synthesized based on readily available reagents through simple chemical transformations. Within the complex structures, a highly unusual 1,3,5,7-tetraza-2,6-dipalladocane frame could be observed.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: In this study, the antioxidant property of new synthesized azomethins has been investigated as theoretical and experimental. METHODS AND RESULTS: Density functional theory (DFT) was employed to investigate the Bond Dissociation Enthalpy (BDE), Mulliken Charges, NBO analysis, Ionization Potential (IP), Electron Affinities (EA), HOMO and LUMO energies, Hardness (η), Softness (S), Electronegativity (µ), Electrophilic Index (ω), Electron Donating Power (ω-), Electron Accepting Power (ω+) and Energy Gap (Eg) in order to deduce scavenging action of the two new synthesized azomethines (FD-1 and FD-2). Spin density calculations and NBO analysis were also carried out to understand the antioxidant activity mechanism. Comparison of BDE of FD-1 and FD-2 indicate the weal antioxidant potential of these structures. CONCLUSION: FD-1 and FD-2 have very high antioxidant potential due to the planarity and formation of intramolecular hydrogen bonds.

RESUMEN

In the present work, the quantum theoretical calculations of the molecular structures of the three newly synthesized azomethine dyes: have been predicted using Density Functional Theory (DFT) in solvent dimethylformamide (DMF). The geometries of the azomethine dyes were optimized using the PBE1PBE/6-31+G level of the theory. In addition, the electronic spectra of these compounds in solvent DMF were carried out using the TDPBE1PBE, TDPBEPBE, TDB3LYP methods with 6-31G, 6-31+G, 6-31+G*, 6-31++G* basis sets. After quantum-chemical calculations three new azomethine dyes for optoelectronic applications were synthesized. Based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and the new synthesized azomethine dyes polarizing films for UV/Vis regions of the spectrum were developed. The main optical parameters of polarizing PVA-films (Transmittance and Polarization Efficiency) have been measured and discussed. Anisotropy of electrical and thermal conductivity of the PVA-films has been investigated.

RESUMEN

By alkylation of vanillin with 4,5-dichloro-3-chloromethylisothiazole the corresponding ether was synthesized. The latter was then reacted with p-toluidine to afford the corresponding azomethine. During the bioassays of synthesized isothiazolic derivatives of vanillin in mixtures with insecticides (imidacloprid and a-cypermethrin) a strong synergetic effect was observed.
