BACKGROUND: The association between macronutrient intake and diabetes is unclear. We used data from the China Health and Nutrition Survey to explore the association between macronutrient intake trajectories and diabetes risk in this study. METHODS: We included 6755 participants who did not have diabetes at baseline and participated in at least three surveys. The energy supply ratio of carbohydrate, protein, and fat was further calculated from dietary data; different macronutrient trajectories were determined using multitrajectory models; and multiple Cox regression models were used to evaluate the association between these trajectories and diabetes. RESULTS: We found three multitrajectories: decreased low carbohydrate-increased moderate protein-increased high fat (DLC-IMP-IHF), decreased high carbohydrate-moderate protein-increased low fat (DHC-MP-ILF), and balanced-macronutrients (BM). Compared to the BM trajectory, DHC-MP-ILF trajectories were significantly associated with increased risk of diabetes (hazard ratio [HR]: 3.228, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.571-6.632), whereas no association between DLC-IMP-IHF trajectories and diabetes was found in our study (HR: 0.699, 95% CI: 0.351-1.392). CONCLUSIONS: The downward trend of high carbohydrate and the increasing trend of low fat increased the risk of diabetes in Chinese adults.

BACKGROUND: The increasing burden of dengue virus on public health due to more explosive and frequent outbreaks highlights the need for improved surveillance and control. Genomic surveillance of dengue virus not only provides important insights into the emergence and spread of genetically diverse serotypes and genotypes, but it is also critical to monitor the effectiveness of newly implemented control strategies. Here, we present DengueSeq, an amplicon sequencing protocol, which enables whole-genome sequencing of all four dengue virus serotypes. RESULTS: We developed primer schemes for the four dengue virus serotypes, which can be combined into a pan-serotype approach. We validated both approaches using genetically diverse virus stocks and clinical specimens that contained a range of virus copies. High genome coverage (>95%) was achieved for all genotypes, except DENV2 (genotype VI) and DENV 4 (genotype IV) sylvatics, with similar performance of the serotype-specific and pan-serotype approaches. The limit of detection to reach 70% coverage was 10-100 RNA copies/µL for all four serotypes, which is similar to other commonly used primer schemes. DengueSeq facilitates the sequencing of samples without known serotypes, allows the detection of multiple serotypes in the same sample, and can be used with a variety of library prep kits and sequencing instruments. CONCLUSIONS: DengueSeq was systematically evaluated with virus stocks and clinical specimens spanning the genetic diversity within each of the four dengue virus serotypes. The primer schemes can be plugged into existing amplicon sequencing workflows to facilitate the global need for expanded dengue virus genomic surveillance.

Background: Frailty has been one of the most serious global public health challenges we will ever face. Oxidative stress is associated with the pathogenesis of frailty, and may be accurately reflected by the oxidative balance score (OBS). However, there have been no studies examining the effect of OBS on frailty. Therefore, we aimed to explore the association between OBS and frailty and whether there was an interaction between the outcomes. Methods: 22 914 participants aged over 20 years taking part in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2007-2018 were involved in the study. Sixteen dietary factors and four lifestyle factors were selected to score the OBS. A modified 36-item deficit cumulative frailty index (FI) was used to assess the degree of frailty. The association between OBS and frailty was analyzed using binary logistic regression. Subgroup analysis and interaction tests were used to investigate whether this association was stable across populations. Results: A negative association between OBS and the prevalence of frailty was found in this study. There was also an interaction between OBS and age in their association with frailty. High OBS was significantly and negatively associated with the prevalence of frailty in the 20-39 and 40-64 age groups. In addition, higher OBS combined with a population in the 20-39 age group resulted in a stronger negative association with frailty. Conclusion: High OBS was significantly associated with lower odds of frailty. An interaction existed between OBS and age. Individuals, especially in relatively young populations, are advised to increase OBS through greater intake of antioxidant nutrients and healthier lifestyles, thereby reducing the adverse effects of frailty.

BACKGROUND: The global aging situation has reached a serious stage, and healthy lifestyles, like regular physical activity and eating breakfast, could slow the process. Phenotypic age (PhenoAge) is regarded as a novel measure of aging. Therefore, our study aimed to quantify the impact of physical activity and eating breakfast on aging via PhenoAge and phenotypic age acceleration (PhenoAgeAccel). METHODS: A total of 3719 adults who participated in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey were involved in this study. Physical activity was divided into an active group and an inactive group. According to the number of reported breakfast recalls, eating breakfast was divided into the no recalls group, one recall group, and both recalls group. Sensitivity analysis was performed by stratified analysis. RESULTS: Active physical activity was a protective factor for PhenoAge and PhenoAgeAccel. Compared to the inactive group, the ß values of the active group were -8.36 (-10.09, -6.62) for PhenoAge and -1.67 (-2.21, -1.14) for PhenoAgeAccel. The stratified analysis results showed that in the groups reporting breakfast in both recalls, one recall, and no recalls, the ß values of the active group were -8.84 (-10.70, -6.98), -8.17 (-12.34, -4.00), and -3.46 (-7.74, 0.82), respectively, compared to the inactive group. CONCLUSIONS: Active physical activity was strongly correlated with lower values of PhenoAge and PhenoAgeAccel, but the association was no longer statistically significant when combined with not regularly eating breakfast.

Background: Dyslipidemia is one of the most common chronic diseases, and is associated with insulin resistance (IR) and inadequate vitamin K intake. We aimed to explore the association between IR, vitamin K intake, and dyslipidemia, and further to explore the mediating role of IR. Materials and methods: 12 860 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2001 to 2018 were included in this study. Insulin resistance was determined by using the homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR). Weighted multiple logistic regression and mediation analyses were conducted to analyze the associations between IR, vitamin K intake, and dyslipidemia. Results: We found that both vitamin K intake-met Dietary Reference Intake (DRI) and non-IR were protective factors of high triglycerides (with ORs (95% CI) of 0.71 (0.57, 0.87) and 0.36 (0.29, 0.45), respectively) and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (with ORs (95% CI) of 0.72 (0.62, 0.82) and 0.39 (0.34, 0.41), respectively). IR-related indicators (HOMA-IR and insulin) partly mediated these effects, and the proportion ranged from 16.36% to 18.52%. Conclusion: Vitamin K intake-met DRI and non-IR were associated with lower risk of dyslipidemia including high TG and low HDL-C. IR partly mediated the association of vitamin K intake with high TG and low HDL-C.

Mycoplasma genitalium is fastidious to culture, and its detection in human clinical specimens relies mainly on molecular methods. Phenotypic determination of antibiotic susceptibility for this bacterium is not a timely or feasible option for most clinical laboratories. This study sought to determine whether next-generation sequencing technologies can effectively be employed in determining genetic mutations associated with drug resistance in M. genitalium samples collected in Aptima Hologic tubes and possibly integrating them into viable workflows in public health laboratories. Following analysis by a custom-designed bioinformatics pipeline, at least one mutation/sample has been identified in 94/98 specimens in at least one of seven loci (macrolides: rrl, rplD, rplV; fluoroquinolones: parC, parE, gyrA, gyrB) described previously to be connected to antibiotic resistance. This method identified a total of 469 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) (452 mutations): 134 of 23S rRNA SNPs and 318 amino acid mutations: 114 substitutions and 204 synonymous; the turnaround time (sample to analyzed sequence) was typically 3 days. The assays and workflows described in this work demonstrated that the determination of a drug resistance profile for macrolides and fluoroquinolones of M. genitalium samples by using next-generation sequencing in clinical samples is a feasible approach that can be implemented in clinical laboratories, following thorough and extensive validation studies.IMPORTANCEThe mechanisms of drug resistance in Mycoplasma genitalium are complex and involve several genetic loci. The molecular methods for accurately characterizing resistance to fluoroquinolones and macrolides in this organism are often not available or approved for patient use and do not cover all genetic determinants. To this end, we propose a next-generation sequencing-based method with a turnaround time of 3 days that includes the investigation of all drug resistance loci of M. genitalium. Following adaptation, validation, and verification for routine clinical use, assays based on this method may yield molecular results that can be used to guide proper treatment regimens and for surveillance of drug resistance in the general population.

BACKGROUND: The incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is increasing worldwide. Adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) activation is beneficial for NAFLD treatment. Recent studies show the excessive fission of mitochondria during NAFLD progression, so targeting mitochondria dynamics may be a possible target for NAFLD. Still, little is known about whether AMPK regulates mitochondrial dynamics in hepar. OBJECTIVE: This study investigated whether AMPK activation alleviates hepatic steatosis by regulating mitochondrial dynamics mediated by GTPase dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1). METHODS: Human hepatocyte line L-02 cells were cultured and subjected to palmitic acid (PA) treatment for 24 h to establish a hepatic steatosis model in vitro, which was pre-treated with different tool drugs. Hepatocyte function, hepatocyte lipid content, mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) production, and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) were examined. The expression levels of genes and proteins associated with mitochondrial dynamics were assessed using reverse transcription-quantitative PCR and western blotting. RESULTS: The results indicated that 5-Aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide 1-ß-D-ribofuranoside (AICAR), an AMPK activator, improved hepatocyte function, as demonstrated by decreased alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) activity (P<0.05 or P<0.01). In addition, AICAR decreased total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) content and lipid deposition in hepatocytes (P<0.01); decreased ROS production; improved MMP (P<0.01); reduced fission-1 (Fis1) and mitochondrial fission factor (Mff) mRNA expression; and downregulated p-Drp1 (Ser 616) protein expression. In contrast, AICAR increased mitochondrial fusion factor mitofusin-1 (Mfn1) and mitofusin-2 (Mfn2) mRNA expression and upregulated p-Drp1 (Ser 637) protein expression. Mdivi-1, a Drp-1 inhibitor, was used to confirm whether mitochondrial dynamics regulated by Drp1-mediated the role of AICAR. Similar to AICAR, Mdivi-1 improved hepatocyte function and MMP significantly, decreased ROS production and lipid deposition, downregulated Fis1 and Mff mRNA expression, downregulated p-Drp1 (Ser 616) protein expression, and enhanced Mfn1 and Mfn2 mRNA and p-Drp1 (Ser 637) protein expression. However, Compound C, an AMPKspecific inhibitor, had less impact on the protective effect of Mdivi-1. CONCLUSION: The results demonstrated that AMPK activation has a protective effect on hepatic steatosis in vitro, largely dependent on the inhibition of Drp1-mediated mitochondrial fission.

Background: Thyroid autoimmunity is an immune response to thyroid antigens that causes varying degrees of thyroid dysfunction. The sole effective treatment for Celiac Disease (CD) is a gluten-free diet (GFD). However, the association between GFD and thyroid autoimmunity in patients with CD has not been confirmed. Methods: A comprehensive search of several databases, involving PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Medline, and Cochrane databases, was conducted to identify studies that primarily addressed the effects of GFD on thyroid autoimmunity in CD subjects. The meta-analysis involved studies that compared the risk of ATPO and ATG antibody positivity in CD patients with GFD, the risk of developing AITD, and the risk of developing thyroid dysfunction. Fixed-effects models or random-effects models were used to calculate the odds ratios (ORs) and their 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). Results: A total of 10 observational studies met the inclusion criteria and included 6423 subjects. The results indicated that GFD is positively associated with thyroid autoimmunity in the children subgroup of CD patients (OR = 1.61, 95%CI 1.06-2.43, P = 0.02). However, there was no significant difference in thyroid autoimmunity between the group adhering to GFD and the control group in the total CD population. Conclusion: The results seem to indicate that subjects with a more pronounced autoimmunity (such as to have an early onset of CD) appear to have a greater risk of thyroid autoimmunity.

BACKGROUND: Depression is a significant, pervasive, global public health problem, associated with many factors, such as diet, social factors, and lifestyle habits. We aimed to evaluate the association between eating breakfast, dietary inflammatory index (DII) and depression, and to verify the mediating role of DII on the effect of eating breakfast on depression. METHODS: 21,865 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) from 2007 to 2018 were included in this study. Binary logistic regression and mediated effect analysis were conducted to analyze the associations between eating breakfast, DII and depression. Dietary inflammation was divided into pro-inflammatory diet and anti-inflammatory diet according to the DII. RESULTS: Both pro-inflammatory diet and skipping breakfast were risk factors for depression. After adjusting for covariables, compared with participants reporting breakfast in both recalls, reporting breakfast in one recall had a higher OR 95%CI (1.54(1.20, 1.98)) of depression. These associations in stratified analysis and sensitivity analysis without cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and diabetes were robust. DII mediated the association between eating breakfast and depression, the proportion of participants who reported breakfast in one recall and no recall was 26.15 % and 26.67 %, respectively. LIMITATIONS: This was a cross-sectional study that couldn't argue for the cause-effect relationship. Moreover, the confounding factor regarding medication use was not accounted for due to limited data. CONCLUSIONS: Skipping breakfast may increase the risk of depression by raising DII. And our study supported the essential role of regular breakfast and the anti-inflammatory diet in reducing the risk of depression.

Network attack and defence games are gradually becoming a new approach through which to study the protection of infrastructure networks such as power grids and transportation networks. Uncertainty factors, such as the subjective decision preferences of attackers and defenders, are not considered in existing attack and defence game studies for infrastructure networks. In this paper, we introduce, respectively, the attacker's and defender's expectation value, rejection value, and hesitation degree of the target, as well as construct an intuitionistic fuzzy goal-based attack and defence game model for infrastructure networks that are based on the maximum connectivity slice size, which is a network performance index. The intuitionistic fuzzy two-player, zero-sum game model is converted into a linear programming problem for solving, and the results are analysed to verify the applicability and feasibility of the model proposed in this paper. Furthermore, different situations, such as single-round games and multi-round repeated games, are also considered. The experimental results show that, when attacking the network, the attacker rarely attacks the nodes with higher importance in the network, but instead pays more attention to the nodes that are not prominent in the network neutrality and median; meanwhile, the defender is more inclined to protect the more important nodes in the network to ensure the normal performance of the network.

Malaria remains one of the deadliest infectious diseases. Transcriptional regulation effects of noncoding variants in this unusual genome of malaria parasites remain elusive. We developed a sequence-based, ab initio deep learning framework, MalariaSED, for predicting chromatin profiles in malaria parasites. The MalariaSED performance was validated by published ChIP-qPCR and TF motifs results. Applying MalariaSED to ~ 1.3 million variants shows that geographically differentiated noncoding variants are associated with parasite invasion and drug resistance. Further analysis reveals chromatin accessibility changes at Plasmodium falciparum rings are partly associated with artemisinin resistance. MalariaSED illuminates the potential functional roles of noncoding variants in malaria parasites.

To investigate the responses of resin canal area of Pinus tabuliformis with different ages to climate change, we analyzed the relationship between the resin canal area and climate factors from 1972 to 2017 in P. tabuliformis plantation at young age, middle age, near-mature, mature, and over-mature periods in Taiyue Mountains, Shanxi Province. The results showed that 55.7% to 75.2% of resin canal occurred in earlywood. The mature and over-mature periods had the largest resin channel area, sequentially followed by near mature, middle age, and young age periods. Annual mean latewood resin canal area increased significantly in near-mature period and mature period, but not in other periods. There was a significant negative correlation between earlywood resin canal area and minimum temperature during the growing season (May to July) for trees at middle age period. Earlywood resin canal area of mature trees showed significant negative correlation with minimum temperature during the growing season, but significant positive correlation with drought (PDSI) in the non-growing season (previous September to current April). The total area of earlywood resin canal at the young, near-mature, and mature periods was less influenced by climate than other periods. The minimum growing season temperature was a limiting factor to earlywood resin canal growth, while the non-growing season drought gradually became a limiting factor for earlywood resin canal with increasing tree age. The total area of earlywood resin canal decreased with increasing non-growing season drought and increasing growing season minimum temperature. In the context of global warming, the earlywood resin canal area may gradually decrease at all five periods, and the most reduction in the over-mature stage.

Vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) represent an attractive light source to integrate with OAM structures to realize chip-scale vortex lasers. Although pioneering endeavors of VCSEL-based vortex lasers have been reported, they cannot achieve large topological charges (less than l = 5) due to the insufficient space-bandwidth product (SBP) caused by the inherent limited device size. Here, by integrating a nanoprinted OAM phase structure on the VCSELs, we demonstrate a vortex microlaser with a low threshold and simple structure. A monolithic microlaser array with addressable control of vortex beams with different topological charges (l = 1 to l = 5) was achieved. Nanoprinting offers high degrees of freedom for the manipulation of spatial structures. To address the challenge of insufficient SBP, two-layer cascaded spiral phase plates were designed. Thereby, a vortex beam with l = 15 and mode purity of 83.7% was obtained. Our work paves the way for future chip-scale OAM-based information multiplexing with more channels.

To understand the responses of radial growth to climatic factors and the differences in ecological resilience to drought between a heliophilous species Larix principis-rupprechtii and a shade species Picea meyeri in mixed forests, we developed the tree-ring width chronologies of L. principis-rupprechtii and P. meyeri in three mixed forests based on the samples collected from Toudaogou of Saihanba in Hebei, Ningwu County and Kelan County in Shanxi Province. We analyzed the correlation between climatic factors and various chronologies and examined the differences in resistance (Rc), recovery (Rt), and resilience (Rs) of L. principis-rupprechtii and P. meyeri in response to drought stress. The results showed that the radial growth of L. principis-rupprechtii and P. meyeri was negatively correlated with the mean and maximum air temperature from May to July in three mixed forests, and was positively correlated with the Palmer drought index (PDSI) from May to September. Radial growth decline in trees due to drought stress was significantly different between the two species among the three sites, indicating different physiological and ecological regulation strategies. The resistance of P. meyeri was stronger than that of L. principis-rupprechtii at the three study sites, with stronger resilience and resilient elasticity of L. principis-rupprechtii than P. meyeri. As a result, P. meyeri exhibited greater drought resistance than L. principis-rupprechtii. Under global warming condition, L. principis-rupprechtii might be at greater risk of growth decline than P. meyeri in this region.

3,4-dichloroaniline (3,4-DCA) and 3,5-dichloroaniline (3,5-DCA) are, respectively, the primary metabolites deriving from the breakdown of phenylurea herbicides and dicarboximide fungicides in both soils and plants, whose residues in vegetable products have a heightened concern considering their higher health risks to humans and greater toxicity than the parent compounds in the environment. In this study, a sensitive high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS) method was developed for the simultaneous determination of 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA residues in chive products based on the optimization of HPLC-MS/MS chromatographic and mass-spectrometric conditions using the standard substances and the modified QuEChERS preparation technique. The preparation efficiency of 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA from chive samples showed that acetonitrile was the best extractant. The combination of the purification agent graphite carbon black + primary secondary amine and the eluting agent acetonitrile + toluene (4:1, v/v) had a satisfactory purification effect. The linear correlation coefficients (R2) were more than 0.996 with the six concentration range of 0.001-1.000 mg/L for 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA. The limit of detection and limit of quantitation of this method was 0.6 and 2.0 µg/kg for 3,4-DCA, as well as 1.0 and 3.0 µg/kg for 3,5-DCA, respectively. The matrix effect range of 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA in chive tissues was from -9.0% to -2.6% and from -4.4% to 2.3%, respectively. The fortified recovery of 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA in chive samples at four spiked levels of 0.001-1.000 mg/kg was 75.3-86.0% and 78.2-98.1%, with the relative standard deviation of 2.1-8.5% and 1.4-11.9%, respectively. The limit of detection (LOD) and limit of quantification (LOQ) of the method were 0.6, 2.0, and 1.0, 3.03 for 4-DCA and 3,5-DCA, respectively. This study highlights that the analytical method established here can efficiently and sensitively detect residues of 3,4-DCA and 3,5-DCA residues for monitoring chive products. The method was successfully applied to 60 batches of actual vegetable samples from different regions.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate whether E-DII or vitamin D mediates the relationship between oral health and cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. METHODS: This study involved 6616 participants aged over 30 years old from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2009-2014. Dietary inflammation and 10-year CVD risk were evaluated via the Energy-adjusted Dietary Inflammatory Index (E-DII) and the Framingham Risk Score (FRS), respectively. We used correlation analysis and mediation analysis to investigate the role of dietary inflammation and vitamin D in the relationship between oral health and CVD risk. RESULTS: Oral health indicators and CVD risk were positively correlated with E-DII (r > 0, P < 0.001) and negatively correlated with vitamin D levels (r < 0, P < 0.001). The estimated mediating role of E-DII and vitamin D in the overall association between oral health and 10-year risk of CVD ranged from 4.9 to 7.5% and 6.6 to 11.6%, respectively. Furthermore, the mediation proportion of E-DII and vitamin D levels in the total association between oral health indicators and FRS were increased in participants without periodontitis. CONCLUSION: Both E-DII and serum vitamin D were mediated the association between oral problems and 10-year CVD risk, especially in participants without periodontitis. Among them, E-DII played a positive mediating role, and serum vitamin D levels was a negative mediator. CLINICAL RELEVANCE: Anti-inflammatory diet and prevention of vitamin D deficiency might reduce the impact of oral problems on cardiovascular disease risk to some extent. The study highlights the important role of oral health and dietary inflammation and vitamin D in primary prevention of cardiovascular disease.

Graphene is an ideal material for flexible optoelectronic devices due to its excellent electrical and optical properties. However, the extremely high growth temperature of graphene has greatly limited the direct fabrication of graphene-based devices on flexible substrates. Here, we have realized in situ growth of graphene on a flexible polyimide substrate. Based on the multi-temperature-zone chemical vapor deposition cooperated with bonding a Cu-foil catalyst onto the substrate, the growth temperature of graphene was controlled at only 300 °C, enabling the structural stability of polyimide during growth. Thus, large-area high-quality monolayer graphene film was successfully in situ grown on polyimide. Furthermore, a PbS-graphene flexible photodetector was fabricated using the graphene. The responsivity of the device reached 105 A/W with 792 nm laser illumination. The in-situ growth ensures good contact between graphene and substrate; therefore, the device performance can remain stable after multiple bending. Our results provide a highly reliable and mass-producible path for graphene-based flexible devices.

OBJECTIVE: Dietary inflammatory index (DII) and handgrip strength (HGS) were correlated, and both were associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD). However, the role of the 10-year CVD risk in the relationship between DII and grip strength remains uncertain. METHODS: This study involved 5691 adults from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) in 2011-2014. Dietary inflammation, 10-year CVD risk and relative grip strength were assessed by the Dietary Inflammation Index, the Framingham Risk Score (FRS) and handgrip strength adjusted BMI. Linear regression analyses and mediation analysis were used to explore these associations. RESULTS: Both DII and 10-year CVD risk were negatively associated with relative handgrip strength, and DII was positively associated with 10-year CVD risk. Additionally, 10-year CVD risk partially mediated the association between DII and relative handgrip strength by a 11.8% proportion. Specifically, the mediating effect of the 10-year risk of CVD varied by gender and age. CONCLUSIONS: Reducing the 10-year risk of CVD attenuates the effect of an inflammatory diet on relative grip strength impairment. Therefore, we recommend reducing the effect of inflammatory diet on grip strength impairment by controlling any of the FRS parameters, such as lowering blood pressure and smoking cessation, especially with targeted measures for different populations.

The use of metal foil catalysts in the chemical vapor deposition of graphene films makes graphene transfer an ineluctable part of graphene device fabrication, which greatly limits industrialization. Here, an oxide phase-change material (V2 O5 ) is found to have the same catalytic effect on graphene growth as conventional metals. A uniform large-area graphene film can be obtained on a 10 nm V2 O5 film. Density functional theory is used to quantitatively analyze the catalytic effect of V2 O5 . Due to the high resistance property of V2 O5 at room temperature, the obtained graphene can be directly used in devices with V2 O5 as an intercalation layer. A wafer-scale graphene-V2 O5 -Si (GVS) Schottky photodetector array is successfully fabricated. When illuminated by a 792 nm laser, the responsivity of the photodetector can reach 266 mA W-1 at 0 V bias and 420 mA W-1 at 2 V. The transfer-free device fabrication process enables high feasibility for industrialization.
