RESUMEN

While CKLF-like MARVEL transmembrane domain containing 6 (CMTM6)'s role in stabilizing PD-L1 and immune evasion within tumors is established, its expression in lung cancer tissue and adjacent macrophages remains uncertain. The study aimed to elucidate this ambiguity by investigating CMTM6's role in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) prognosis. Employing immunohistochemical staining on 141 NSCLC and 110 adjacent normal lung tissue samples, CMTM6 expression was evaluated using the HSCORE system. Interestingly, NSCLC exhibited significantly higher CMTM6 levels (161.04±86.60) compared to normal tissues (71.20±45.10) (p < 0.001), detected not only in cancer cells but also in macrophages, lymphocytes, and nearby bronchial epithelial cells. Stratifying patients by CMTM6 levels unveiled a correlation between heightened expression and poorer overall survival (p = 0.003), alongside a link to tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TIL) (p = 0.037), especially in cases with increased TIL. Multivariate analysis identified CMTM6 as an independent predictor of overall survival (p = 0.009), implying that elevated CMTM6 expression in NSCLC might signify an adverse prognostic marker for patient outcomes.

RESUMEN

Three new cadmium coordination polymers, namely [Cd(NO3)2(DPNDI)(CH3OH)]·CH3OH (1), [Cd(SCN)2(DPNDI)] (2), and [Cd(DPNDI)2(DMF)2]·2ClO4 (3) (DPNDI = N,N-di(4-pyridyl)-1,4,5,8-naphthalene diimide, DMF = N,N-dimethylformamide) have been synthesized by reactions of DPNDI with Cd(NO3)2, Cd(SCN)2, and Cd(ClO4)2, respectively. Compound 1 is a one-dimensional coordination polymer with strong lone pair-π interactions between the coordinated NO3- anions and the imide ring of DPNDI; while 2 is a two-dimensional network with a (4, 4) net topology. In the case of 3, due to the presence of uncoordinated perchlorate counter ions, it exhibits a non-interpenetrated square-grid coordination polymer containing one-dimensional rhomboid channels. The structural diversity in these compounds is attributed to different coordination abilities and geometries of counter anions. Due to the presence of electron-deficient NDI moiety, the photochromic behavior of these compounds was studied. Interestingly, only compounds 1 and 3 exhibit color changes under light irradiation. The influence of the anions on the photochromism process of the NDI-based materials has been discussed.

RESUMEN

A chemodosimeter was designed to function as a highly selective phosphate ion (Pi ) sensor, showing a 91-fold ratiometric fluorescence enhancement. The probe successfully visualized exogenous and endogenous apyrase-catalyzed Pi generation and was the first probe able to trace the generation and enrichment of Pi through hemichannel closure in Sf9 cells.

RESUMEN

A 1,8-naphthalimide-Cu(II) ensemble was rationally designed and synthesized as a new turn-on fluorescent probe utilizing the 'chemosensing ensemble' method for detections of thiols (Cys, Hcy and GSH) with high selectivity over other α-amino acids at pH 7.4 in organic aqueous media (EtOH/HEPES, v/v=9:1). The recognition mechanism was attributed to the remove Cu(II) from the 1,8-naphthalimide-Cu(II) ensemble by thiols and the release of flurescence of ligand 1. Remarkable fluorescence enhancements were therefore observed in the sensing process of thiols by the 1,8-naphthalimide-Cu(II) ensemble. Furthermore, the 1,8-naphthalimide-Cu(II) ensemble was successfully applied to the fluorescence imaging of thiols in CHO cells with high sensitivity and selectivity.
