BACKGROUND: This study evaluated the effects of concurrent isolated training (T) or training combined with the antioxidant N-acetylcysteine (NAC) on cardiac remodeling and oxidative stress in spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR). METHODS: Six-month-old male SHR were divided into sedentary (S, n = 12), concurrent training (T, n = 13), sedentary supplemented with NAC (SNAC, n = 13), and concurrent training with NAC supplementation (TNAC, n = 14) groups. T and TNAC rats were trained three times a week on a treadmill and ladder; NAC supplemented groups received 120 mg/kg/day NAC in rat chow for eight weeks. Myocardial antioxidant enzyme activity and lipid hydroperoxide concentration were assessed by spectrophotometry. Gene expression of NADPH oxidase subunits Nox2, Nox4, p22 phox, and p47 phox was evaluated by real time RT-PCR. Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA and Bonferroni or Kruskal-Wallis and Dunn. RESULTS: Echocardiogram showed concentric remodeling in TNAC, characterized by increased relative wall thickness (S 0.40 ± 0.04; T 0.39 ± 0.03; SNAC 0.40 ± 0.04; TNAC 0.43 ± 0.04 *; * p < 0.05 vs T and SNAC) and diastolic posterior wall thickness (S 1.50 ± 0.12; T 1.52 ± 0.10; SNAC 1.56 ± 0.12; TNAC 1.62 ± 0.14 * mm; * p < 0.05 vs T), with improved contractile function (posterior wall shortening velocity: S 39.4 ± 5.01; T 36.4 ± 2.96; SNAC 39.7 ± 3.44; TNAC 41.6 ± 3.57 * mm/s; * p < 0.05 vs T). Myocardial lipid hydroperoxide concentration was lower in NAC treated groups (S 210 ± 48; T 182 ± 43; SNAC 159 ± 33 *; TNAC 110 ± 23 *# nmol/g tissue; * p < 0.05 vs S, # p < 0.05 vs T and SNAC). Nox 2 and p22 phox expression was higher and p47 phox lower in T than S [S 1.37 (0.66-1.66); T 0.78 (0.61-1.04) *; SNAC 1.07 (1.01-1.38); TNAC 1.06 (1.01-1.15) arbitrary units; * p < 0.05 vs S]. NADPH oxidase subunits did not differ between TNAC, SNAC, and S groups. CONCLUSION: N-acetylcysteine supplementation alone reduces oxidative stress in untreated spontaneously hypertensive rats. The combination of N-acetylcysteine and concurrent exercise further decreases oxidative stress. However, the lower oxidative stress does not translate into improved cardiac remodeling and function in untreated spontaneously hypertensive rats.

The growth of the aquaculture industry requires more sustainable and circular economy-driven aquafeed formulas. Thus, the goal of the present study was to assess in farmed gilthead sea bream (Sparus aurata L.) how different combinations of novel and conventional fish feed ingredients supported proper animal performance in terms of growth and physiological biomarkers of blood/liver/head kidney. A 77-day feeding trial was conducted with three experimental diets (PAP, with terrestrial processed animal protein from animal by-products; NOPAP, without processed animal protein from terrestrial animal by-products; MIX, a combination of alternative ingredients of PAP and NOPAP diets) and a commercial-type formulation (CTRL), and their effects on growth performance and markers of endocrine growth regulation, lipid metabolism, antioxidant defense and inflammatory condition were assessed at circulatory and tissue level (liver, head kidney). Growth performance was similar among all dietary treatments. However, fish fed the PAP diet displayed a lower feed conversion and protein efficiency, with intermediate values in MIX-fed fish. Such gradual variation in growth performance was supported by different biomarker signatures that delineated a lower risk of oxidation and inflammatory condition in NOPAP fish, in concurrence with an enhanced hepatic lipogenesis that did not represent a risk of lipoid liver degeneration.

Background and Aim: Anemia, a clinical condition characterized by reduced erythrocytes, is often observed in cats. Regeneration indicates that the bone marrow can respond appropriately to anemia. The absolute reticulocyte count is the reference for differentiating regenerative and non-regenerative anemia, while red blood cell (RBC) indices and morphology provide supplementary information. This study aimed to identify anemia types and establish the most reliable RBC indices and morphology methods in agreement with the reference method. Materials and Methods: One hundred forty-five cases of cat anemia were prospectively classified using two methods: RBC indices and RBC morphology, and subsequently compared with the absolute reticulocyte count. Results: Based on RBC indices assessment, 27 cases (19%) exhibited regenerative anemia. Based on RBC morphology, 29 (20%) cases were identified as having regenerative anemia. Using the reticulocyte absolute count as a reference method, 34 (23.4%) cases of regenerative anemia were identified. The findings indicated that RBC indices and RBC morphology did not align in evaluating medullary regeneration and that there is a good degree of agreement between RBC morphology assessment and the reticulocyte absolute count in identifying regenerative anemias. Conclusion: Blood smear analysis of RBC morphology was more dependable for classifying regenerative anemia than RBC indices. Further studies should be conducted with a larger number of animals and that allow the identification of the cause of anemia and the monitoring of the animal.

The latent potential of active ingredients derived from agro-industrial waste remains largely untapped and offers a wealth of unexplored resources. While these types of materials have applications in various fields, their ability to benefit human health needs to be further explored and investigated. This systematic review was conducted to systematically evaluate non-clinical studies that have investigated the biological effects of fractions, extracts and bioactive compounds from agro-industrial wastes and their potential therapeutic applications. Articles were selected via PubMed, Embase and Medline using the descriptors (by-products[title/abstract]) AND (agro-industrial[title/abstract]). The systematic review was registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (Prospero) under the number CRD42024491021. After a detailed analysis based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 38 articles were used for data extraction and discussion of the results. Information was found from in vitro and in vivo experiments investigating a variety of residues from the agro-industry. The studies investigated peels, pomace/bagasse, pulp, seeds, aerial parts, cereals/grains and other types of waste. The most studied activities include mainly antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects, but other activities such as antimicrobial, cytotoxic, antiproliferative, antinociceptive, hypoglycemic, antihyperglycemic and anticoagulant effects have also been described. Finally, the studies included in this review demonstrate the potential of agro-industrial waste and can drive future research with a focus on clinical application.

Quantifying and analyzing licking behavior can offer valuable insights into fundamental neurobiological mechanisms controlling animal consummatory behaviors. Lickometers are typically based on electrical properties, a strategy that comes with limitations, including susceptibility to electrical interference and generation of electrical disturbances in electrophysiological measurements. While optical lickometers offer an alternative method to measure licks and quantify fluid intake in animals, they are prone to false readings and susceptibility to outside light sources. To overcome this problem, we propose a low-cost open-source lickometer that combines a restricted infrared beam defined by optical fibers, with a poke design that allows easy access to the tongue while limiting access of other body parts and external light sources. This device also includes features for detecting nose pokes and presenting visual cues during behavioral tasks. We provide validation experiments that demonstrate the optical lickometer's reliability, high-sensitivity and precision, and its application in a behavioral task, showcasing the potential of this tool to study lick microstructure in combination with other techniques, such as imaging of neural activity, in freely moving mice.

Numerous commercial tests for the serological diagnosis of COVID-19 have been produced in recent years. However, it is important to note that these tests exhibit significant variability in their sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of results. Therefore, the objective of this study was to utilize bioinformatics tools to map SARS-CoV-2 peptides, with the goal of developing a new serological diagnostic test for COVID-19. Two peptides from the S protein and one from the N protein were selected and characterized in silico, chemically synthesized, and used as a serological diagnostic tool to detect IgM, IgG, and IgA anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies through the ELISA technique, confirmed as positive and negative samples by RT-qPCR or serology by ELISA. The results showed a sensitivity, specificity, Positive Predictive Value and Negative Predictive Value of 100% (p < 00001, 95% CI) for the proposed test. Although preliminary, this study brings proof-of-concept results that are consistent with the high-performance rates of the ELISA test when compared to other well-established methods for diagnosing COVID-19.

Redox-based cancer therapeutic strategies aim to raise reactive oxygen species (ROS) levels in cancer cells, thus modifying their redox status, and eventually inducing cell death. Promising compounds, known as superoxide dismutase mimics (SODm), e.g. MnTnHex-2-Py5+ (MnTnHex), could increase intracellular H2O2 in cancer cells with deficient ROS removal systems and therefore enhance radio- and chemotherapy efficacy. We have previously shown that MnTnHex was cytotoxic either alone or combined with cisplatin to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells. To gain a deeper understanding of the effects and safety of this compound, it is crucial to analyze the metabolic alterations that take place within the cell. Our goal was thus to study the intracellular metabolome (intracellular metabolites) of NSCLC cells (A549 and H1975) using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy-based metabolomics to evaluate the changes in cellular metabolism upon exposure to MnTnHex per se or in combination with cisplatin. 1H NMR metabolomics revealed a higher number of significantly altered metabolites in A549 cells exposed to MnTnHex alone or combined with cisplatin in comparison with non-treated cells (nine dysregulated metabolites), suggesting an impact on aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, taurine, hypotaurine, glycerophospholipid, pyruvate, arginine and proline metabolisms. Regarding H1975 cells, significant alterations in the levels of six metabolites were observed upon co-treatment with MnTnHex and cisplatin, suggesting dysregulations in aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis, arginine and proline metabolism, pyruvate metabolism, and glycolysis/gluconeogenesis. These findings help us to understand the impact of MnTnHex on NSCLC cells. Importantly, specific altered metabolites, such as taurine, may contribute to the chemosensitizing effects of MnTnHex.

INTRODUCTION: Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is an intervention aimed at the comprehensive care of individuals with chronic respiratory diseases. Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma present low levels of physical fitness because they avoid physical exercises due to the fear of triggering recurrent symptoms. Wearable devices have been integrated into behavioral modification interventions for physical activity in PR protocols. Therefore, this review aims to identify how wearable devices are being utilized for monitoring chronic respiratory diseases in pulmonary rehabilitation programs. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: Searches will be conducted on Medline, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase (CENTRAL), CINAHL and PEDro electronic databases, as well as a search in the grey literature. We will include baseline data from randomized clinical trials reporting the use of wearable devices for monitoring physical activity in protocols for pulmonary rehabilitation programs for chronic respiratory diseases. Studies that discuss only the development of algorithms or applications for the assessment of diseases or unavailable full texts will be excluded. The main reviewer will conduct the initial search and exclusion of duplicates, while two independent reviewers will select studies, extract data, and assess the methodological quality using the PEDro tool. As the lack of resources required to meet the demands of a growing population is increasingly evident, plant-based diets can be seen as part of the solution, also addressing ethical, environmental, and health concerns. The rise of vegetarian and vegan food regimes is a powerful catalyzer of a transition from animal-based diets to plant-based diets, which foments the need for innovation within the food industry. Vegetables and fruits are a rich source of protein, and bioactive compounds such as dietary fibres and polyphenols and can be used as technological ingredients (e.g., thickening agents, emulsifiers, or colouring agents), while providing health benefits. This review provides insight on the potential of plant-based ingredients as a source of alternative proteins, dietary fibres and antioxidant compounds, and their use for the development of food- and alternative plant-based products. The application of these ingredients on meat analogues and their impact on health, the environment and consumers' acceptance are discussed. Given the current knowledge on meat analogue production, factors like cost, production and texturization techniques, upscaling conditions, sensory attributes and nutritional safety are factors that require further development to fully achieve the full potential of plant-based meat analogues.

OBJECTIVES: Hypocomplementaemia is common in patients with IgG4-related disease (IgG4-RD). We aimed to determine the IgG4-RD features associated with hypocomplementaemia and investigate mechanisms of complement activation in this disease. METHODS: We performed a single-centre cross-sectional study of 279 patients who fulfilled the IgG4-RD classification criteria, using unadjusted and multivariable-adjusted logistic regression to identify factors associated with hypocomplementaemia. RESULTS: Hypocomplementaemia was observed in 90 (32%) patients. In the unadjusted model, the number of organs involved (OR 1.42, 95% CI 1.23 to 1.63) and involvement of the lymph nodes (OR 3.87, 95% CI 2.19 to 6.86), lungs (OR 3.81, 95% CI 2.10 to 6.89), pancreas (OR 1.66, 95% CI 1.001 to 2.76), liver (OR 2.73, 95% CI 1.17 to 6.36) and kidneys (OR 2.48, 95% CI 1.47 to 4.18) were each associated with hypocomplementaemia. After adjusting for age, sex and number of organs involved, only lymph node (OR 2.59, 95% CI 1.36 to 4.91) and lung (OR 2.56, 95% CI 1.35 to 4.89) involvement remained associated with hypocomplementaemia while the association with renal involvement was attenuated (OR 1.6, 95% CI 0.92 to 2.98). Fibrotic disease manifestations (OR 0.43, 95% CI 0.21 to 0.87) and lacrimal gland involvement (OR 0.53, 95% CI 0.28 to 0.999) were inversely associated with hypocomplementaemia in the adjusted analysis. Hypocomplementaemia was associated with higher concentrations of all IgG subclasses and IgE (all p<0.05). After adjusting for serum IgG1 and IgG3, only IgG1 but not IgG4 remained strongly associated with hypocomplementaemia. CONCLUSIONS: Hypocomplementaemia in IgG4-RD is not unique to patients with renal involvement and may reflect the extent of disease. IgG1 independently correlates with hypocomplementaemia in IgG4-RD, but IgG4 does not. Complement activation is likely involved in IgG4-RD pathophysiology.

Background: Breast cancer has several subtypes, including HER2-positive breast cancer, which is characterized by overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), aggressiveness, poor prognosis, and high risk of recurrence and metastasis. Brain metastases are a common complication of HER2-positive breast cancer, but brain imaging is not included in the initial staging of this disease. This prospective pilot study aimed to evaluate the usefulness of brain computed tomography (CT) in the initial staging of HER2-positive breast cancer. Patients and methods: Fifty-eight patients were enrolled and demographic, clinical, and breast cancer-specific data were collected after the informed consent and ethical approval were obtained. Results: A descriptive analysis was performed. The median age of the patients was 55 years, and the majority had good performance status. Brain CT scans were performed at diagnosis, and no brain metastases were detected in early-stage patients. However, brain CT identified brain metastases in one advanced-stage patient with clinical suspicion. Conclusions: This study suggests that brain CT may have limited utility in the initial staging of early HER2-positive breast cancer, while it could be a valuable tool in advanced cases. Further research is needed, including a higher number of patients to identify those with high risk, which may benefit from brain imaging.

COVID-19, caused by the SARS-COV-2 virus, induces numerous immunological reactions linked to the severity of the clinical condition of those infected. The surface Spike protein (S protein) present in Sars-CoV-2 is responsible for the infection of host cells. This protein presents a high rate of mutations, which can increase virus transmissibility, infectivity, and immune evasion. Therefore, we propose to evaluate, using immunoinformatic techniques, the predicted epitopes for the S protein of seven variants of Sars-CoV-2. MHC class I and II epitopes were predicted and further assessed for their immunogenicity, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) inducing capacity, and antigenicity. For B cells, linear and structural epitopes were predicted. For class I MHC epitopes, 40 epitopes were found for the clades of Wuhan, Clade 2, Clade 3, and 20AEU.1, Gamma, and Delta, in addition to 38 epitopes for Alpha and 44 for Omicron. For MHC II, there were differentially predicted epitopes for all variants and eight equally predicted epitopes. These were evaluated for differences in the MHC II alleles to which they would bind. Regarding B cell epitopes, 16 were found in the Wuhan variant, 14 in 22AEU.1 and in Clade 3, 15 in Clade 2, 11 in Alpha and Delta, 13 in Gamma, and 9 in Omicron. When compared, there was a reduction in the number of predicted epitopes concerning the Spike protein, mainly in the Delta and Omicron variants. These findings corroborate the need for updates seen today in bivalent mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 to promote a targeted immune response to the main circulating variant, Omicron, leading to more robust protection against this virus and avoiding cases of reinfection. When analyzing the specific epitopes for the RBD region of the spike protein, the Omicron variant did not present a B lymphocyte epitope from position 390, whereas the epitope at position 493 for MHC was predicted only for the Alpha, Gamma, and Omicron variants.

Transient global amnesia (TGA) is an uncommon neurologic disorder that consists of a sudden and temporary loss of memory, both present and past. Its causes and risk factors are not well known. We describe a case of a 58-year-old woman who was brought to the emergency department (ED) with sudden onset loss of memory and disorientation after a dive in the ocean. She presented memory deficits with incapacity to retain new memories and amnesia for the previous 24 hours. All exams ordered were normal, including computed tomography of the brain and laboratory analysis. After six hours of close monitoring in the ED, she gradually started to retain short-term memories and was discharged after 48 hours with no memory or other deficits. The diagnosis of TGA was made based on the clinical presentation and the patient's rapid improvement. Follow-up neurology consultation and further testing did not demonstrate any evidence to exclude this diagnosis. Further research is needed on this topic to allow the identification of risk factors and causes to prevent it.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the impact of the Nutrition and Culinary in the Kitchen (NCK) Program on the cooking skills of Brazilian individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). METHODS: A randomized controlled intervention study was performed, with intervention and control groups. The intervention group participated in weekly sessions of the NCK Program for six weeks (including two in-person practical cooking and three online cooking workshops). The cooking recipes were adapted by replacing high glycemic index ingredients with low and medium glycemic index alternatives. Of note, the recipes did not contain added sugars or sweeteners, were based on the use of fresh or minimally processed foods, herbs, and spices, and were sensorially tested by individuals with T2DM before use in the intervention. The study outcomes were participant score changes on the seven scales. A validated online instrument was administered to the control and intervention groups at baseline (T1) and post-intervention (T2). Parametric and non-parametric tests were used to assess the differences between the T1 and T2 parameters. RESULTS: Of the 60 individuals enrolled, 44 answered the questionnaire at both times. The findings revealed a 45.37% ± 93.57% increase in Knowledge of Cooking Terms in the intervention group, whereas the control group showed a 3.82% ± 16.17% reduction (p = 0.008). There was an increase in all the other cooking skills and healthy eating scales from T1 to T2 in the intervention group, but the differences were not significant. CONCLUSIONS: The development of cooking skills can contribute to increasing culinary knowledge and the availability of time to cook at home. The results contribute to the planning of health actions aimed at individuals with DM2 through culinary interventions and public food and nutrition policies.

BACKGROUND: IgG4-related disease is a multiorgan fibroinflammatory disease considered to have an autoimmune origin. Case series describing individual organ involvement have suggested differences in phenotypic expression between males and females. We aimed to characterise differences in IgG4-related disease manifestations between male and female patients in a large single-centre cohort. METHODS: In this retrospective, single-centre cohort study, patients were recruited from the Massachusetts General Hospital Rheumatology Clinic (Boston, MA, USA) and classified according to the American College of Rheumatology-European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (ACR-EULAR) classification criteria. Only patients satisfying the ACR-EULAR classification criteria were included in the study. Data on age at diagnosis, organ involvement at baseline, treatment status, and pre-treatment laboratory values were collected. Circulating plasmablasts and B-cell subsets were quantitated by flow cytometry. Active disease was defined by an IgG4-related disease Responder Index score of more than 0. Laboratory values were analysed for patients who were untreated at baseline and had active IgG4-related disease. The main outcomes were assessed in all participants with available data. FINDINGS: Of the 564 participants enrolled in the Massachusetts General Hospital Rheumatology Clinic IgG4-related disease Registry, 328 fulfilled ACR-EULAR classification criteria and were included between January, 2008, and May, 2023. There was a strong male predominance (male:female ratio 2·2:1) with 226 (69%) males and 102 (31%) females, which contrasted markedly with our general rheumatology clinic population (0·4:1; p<0·001). The male predominance increased with each decade of life starting at age 40 years. On average, male patients were 5·5 years older at diagnosis than female patients (63·7 years vs 58·2 years; p=0·0031). We observed male patients to have higher ACR-EULAR classification criteria scores at baseline with a median score of 35·0 (IQR 28·0-46·0), compared with 29·5 (25·0-39·0) for females (p=0·0010). The proportion of male patients with pancreatic and renal involvement was almost double the proportion observed in female patients (50% of the male patients had pancreatic involvement, compared with about 26% of the female patients; p<0·0001). Male patients were more likely to have serological abnormalities at baseline. The distribution of IgG4 values differed significantly between male an female sexes, favouring higher values in males. We found that male patients with IgG4-related disease were more likely to have active B-cell responses in the blood as defined by plasmablast expansions. INTERPRETATION: IgG4-related disease is unusual among autoimmune diseases in that it is more likely to affect males than females and to present with a striking sex-dependent organ distribution and degree of B-cell response. These findings highlight important variation between IgG4-related disease and other conditions generally believed to have an autoimmune basis. Most autoimmune diseases, by contrast to IgG4-related disease, demonstrate pronounced predilections for affecting females more frequently than males. Hypotheses surrounding the cause and pathophysiology of this condition need to consider this unusual sex distribution among patients with IgG4-related disease. Despite the recognized potential of nanoparticles, only a few formulations have progressed to clinical trials, and an even smaller number have been approved by the regulatory authorities and marketed. Virus-like particles (VLPs) have emerged as promising alternatives to conventional nanoparticles due to their safety, biocompatibility, immunogenicity, structural stability, scalability, and versatility. Furthermore, VLPs can be surface-functionalized with small molecules to improve circulation half-life and target specificity. Through the functionalization and coating of VLPs, it is possible to optimize the response properties to a given stimulus, such as heat, pH, an alternating magnetic field, or even enzymes. Surface functionalization can also modulate other properties, such as biocompatibility, stability, and specificity, deeming VLPs as potential vaccine candidates or delivery systems. This review aims to address the different types of surface functionalization of VLPs, highlighting the more recent cutting-edge technologies that have been explored for the design of tailored VLPs, their importance, and their consequent applicability in the medical field.

INTRODUÇÃO: Cardiac surgery (CS) may be associated with several organic repercussions responsible for the appearance of cardiac risk factors during the postoperative period. These, associated with prolonged hospital length of stay (LoS), may trigger critical manifestations in individuals undergoing this surgical procedure. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationships between postoperative cardiac risk factors, LoS, and changes in functioning state. METHODS: Patients undergoing reconstructive, substitutive, or corrective cardiac surgeries were evaluated. The presence of postoperative cardiovascular risks was assessed using the InsCor score, while LoS and functionality were collected from medical records. RESULTS: One-hundred patients with a mean age of 59.2±12.3 years were included. Significant correlations between functionality and both the hospital and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) LoS (p<0.0001, ρ=0.56; p=0.002, ρ=0.29, respectively), as well as between hospital LoS and the number of comorbidities (p=0.003, ρ=0.28) were found. No significant relationships were observed between the number of postoperative risk factors and LoS. CONCLUSION: Functionality and comorbidities are associated with increased hospital and ICU LoS in patients undergoing cardiac surgery.


INTRODUÇÃO: A cirurgia cardíaca (CC) pode estar associada a diversas repercussões orgânicas responsáveis pelo surgimento de fatores de risco cardíaco no pós-operatório. Estas, associadas ao tempo de internação hospitalar (TIH) prolongado, podem desencadear manifestações críticas em indivíduos submetidos a esse procedimento cirúrgico. OBJETIVO: Investigar a correlação entre os fatores de risco cardíaco pós-operatórios em CC, funcionalidade e o (TIH). MÉTODOS: Foram avaliados pacientes submetidos a CC reconstrutivas, substitutivas ou corretivas. A presença de riscos cardiovasculares pós-operatórios foi avaliada pelo escore da InsCor, enquanto o TIH e a funcionalidade foram coletados em prontuários médicos. RESULTADOS: Cem pacientes com idade média de 59,2±12,3 anos foram incluídos. Correlações significativas entre funcionalidade e TIH total e na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI) (p<0.0001, ρ=0.56; p=0.002, ρ=0.29, respectivamente), bem como entre o TIH e o número de comorbidades (p=0.003, ρ=0.28) foram encontradas. Não foram observadas correlações significativas entre o número de fatores de risco pós-operatórios e o TIH. CONCLUSÃO: O número de alterações funcionais e o número de comorbidades estão associados ao aumento do TIH total e na UTI em pacientes submetidos à CC.
