RESUMEN

Herein, syntheses, crystal structures, and photoluminescence properties of 24 new ammonia and alkali metal ATCN salts characterized via single-crystal X-ray diffraction are reported. Moreover, ten structure types of these salts have been described, three of which are predominant. Some ATCNs were obtained as two crystalline polymorphs. It was estimated that most ATCN powders exhibited yellow-green fluorescence (at 450-600 nm). For samples that possess fluorescence of low intensity in the solid state, several optical centers of emission exist. It was speculated that the obtained spectral features were due to anion-anion intermolecular interactions. ATCN being a new representative of stable tetracyanoallyl salts is a promising candidate for creation of various 1D, 2D, and 3D supramolecular structures and potential functional materials.

RESUMEN

A novel fast, convenient and inexpensive synthesis of 1',3'-dioxo-1',3'-dihydrospiro[cyclopropane-1,2'-indene]-2,2,3,3-tetracarbonitrile and dimethyl 2,3-dicyano-1',3'-dioxo-1',3'-dihydrospiro[cyclopropane-1,2'-indene]-2,3-dicarboxylate is reported. These compounds undergo double carbanion cleavage under the action of alcohols resulting in the formation of stable salts, containing new allylic-type anions with potential application in organic electronics and as ionic liquid components.

RESUMEN

For the first time, temperate Legionella bacteriophage was isolated from organs of guinea pig infected with Philadelphia 1 strain of Legionella pneumophila. Negative colonies of bactriophage from 1.5 to 2.5 mm in diameter were detected. Central part of them was transparent and surrounded by peripheral zone of partial lysis. Electron microscopy showed that corpuscles of the phage consist from multifaceted elongated head of stretched hexagonal form and short tail. The bacteriophage lyzed bacteria, which cause Legionnaires' disease, and also had certain lytic activity against causative agent of tularemia.

RESUMEN

In this work we describe how the nucleolus reacts to inhibition of protein synthesis as revealed by labeling with a new monoclonal antibody A3. In normal cells A3 antigen is observed as numerous foci within the nucleolus. During mitosis A3 antigen is located in a few foci on chromosomes. Regions of A3 localization are susceptible to pepsin treatment but are not susceptible to RNAse A treatment. This fact indicates that A3 antigen is of protein nature. On the ultra structural level, A3 antigen is localized primarily at the periphery of fibrillar centers. Taken together these properties of A3 antigen suggest that it's a component of the RNA polymerase I transcription machinery. A3 antigen has an intriguing property, namely, an ability to migrate from the nucleolus to the nucleoplasm upon inhibition of protein synthesis with anisomycin, puromycin or cycloheximide. The obtained results show that the localization of A3 antigen revealed by the new monoclonal antibody may serve as a cytological indicator of the overall level of protein synthesis in vitro.

RESUMEN

A diversity of X-ray contrast diagnostic techniques used in urology provides a way of using different groups of X-ray contrast materials (XCMs) in accordance of the set tasks. Many years' experience in handling water-soluble triiodinated XCMs while examining the kidneys and urinary tract provides evidence for their diagnostic effectiveness and safety. The new Triombrast (OAO "Farmac", Kiev) synthesized on the basis of the Spanish substance (Justesa Imagen SA) has successfully undergone clinical trials and meets the high requirements made by the specialized urological facilities is economically profitable. The paper has been prepared, by using the reports on the results of preclinical studies of the agent and the experience of its use in the clinic of the Research Institute of Urology and City Clinical Hospital No. 47, Moscow.

RESUMEN

Radiocontrast substances have a significant role in x-ray diagnosis of urological diseases. Diagnostic and cost-effect efficacy, delivery, storage life are described for radiocontrast substance triombrast (sodium amidotrizoate) of Ukraine production (Kiev). The review was based on the authors' experience and results of clinical trials.

RESUMEN

Ureteral ischemia is one of the causes of obliterations arising after kidney transplantation. Reureterocystoanastomosis does not solve the problem of ischemia. Ureteropyelostomy with the recipient's ureter is the most effective open surgical intervention. Choice of operation is made with consideration of specific features of blood supply. If the use of own recipient's ureters is impossible, pyelocystostomy with Boari flap is indicated for allograft's rescue.

RESUMEN

The relation of hyperuricemia with obesity, arterial hypertension, hyperlipoproteinemia, high intensity of lipid peroxidation, hyperinsulinemia, diabetoid carbohydrate disturbances (abnormal tolerance to carbohydrates and type-II diabetes mellitus) has been investigated in an epidemiological survey of a random population. The study covered 594 citizens of Chuvashia aged 16-65 years (mean age 39.4 +/- 0.5 years). Hyperuricemia is shown to be related with hyperlipidemia, arterial hypertension, obesity, high activity of lipid peroxidation and hyperinsulinemia. It is evident that on the population level hyperuricemia may serve an indicator of hormonal-metabolic athero-, diabetogenic shifts.
