RESUMEN

The scope of this paper is to propose a new integrated methodology for the evaluation of the strategic performance of a healthcare organization. In order to find the optimal strategy for an emergency department, we propose the combination of BSC, simulation, and UTASTAR algorithm. Through the simulation model, the stakeholders have the ability to evaluate the effect of their decisions on a number of KPIs that are important for the successful implementation of strategy on the ED. This method is able to provide a set of completed results (e.g., scores, weights, value functions, etc.), which may help the organization to evaluate and revise its strategy.

RESUMEN

This article presents data that examine the patient׳s satisfaction from the services of an Emergency Department in Greece during the economic crisis. 490 questionnaires have been collected for the assessment of patient satisfaction by taking into account criteria like cleanliness, waiting room, access to the hospital, courtesy, friendliness and professional attitude of the emergency department staff, service processes and waiting times. In order to examine the satisfaction levels of the patients and moreover to design possible strategic actions we use the MUSA method.

RESUMEN

The traditional diet of Cretan people in the 1960s is the basis of the Mediterranean dietary model. This article investigates the potential of this model to inspire proposals of meals by food-serving businesses, and suggests a methodology for the development of a quality management system, which will certify the delivery of food service according to this dietary model. The proposed methodology is built upon the principles and structure of the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard to enable integration with other quality, environmental, and food safety management systems.
