RESUMEN

Naphthenic acids, NAs, are a major contaminant of concern and a focus of much research around remediation of oil sand process affected waters, OSPW. Using activated carbon adsorbents are an attractive option given their low cost of fabrication and implementation. A deeper evaluation of the effect NA structural differences have on uptake affinity is warranted. Here we provide an in-depth exploration of NA adsorption including many more model NA species than have been assessed previously with evaluation of adsorption kinetics and isotherms at the relevant alkaline pH of OSPW using several different carbon adsorbents with pH buffering to simulate the behaviour of real OSPW. Uptake for the NA varied considerably regardless of the activated carbon used, ranging from 350 mg/g to near zero highlighting recalcitrant NAs. The equilibrium data was explored to identify structural features of these species and key physiochemical properties that influence adsorption. We found that certain NA will be resistant to adsorption when hydrophobic adsorbents are used. Adsorption isotherm modelling helped explore interactions occurring at the interface between NA and adsorbent surfaces. We identified the importance of NA hydrophobicity for activated carbon uptake. Evidence is also presented that indicates favorable hydrogen bonding between certain NA and surface site hydroxyl groups, demonstrating the importance of adsorbent surface functionality for NA uptake. This research highlights the challenges associated with removing NAs from OSPW through adsorption and also identifies how adsorbent surface chemistry modification can be used to increase the removal efficiency of recalcitrant NA species.

Highly unsaturated fatty acids (HUFAs) are vulnerable to oxygen attack, thus making HUFA-rich, high metabolic rate/reactive oxygen species (ROS)-generating neurological tissue particularly susceptible to increased oxidative stress. Lipid oxidation is a putative early stage marker of neurodegenerative diseases, suggesting that reliable monitoring of oxidized neural lipids in vivo reveals early pathogenesis. Here, we present a novel methodology to detect and quantify intactin vivo ROS-driven peroxidized phospholipids (LPOx-PLs) in bovine retina extract. A protocol for preparing autoxidized pure phospholipids (PLs) and complex retinal extracts served as reference standards and was adapted to enable analytical parameter development. Fatty acid profiles of bovine retinas were first established with routine gas chromatography (GC) methods and used to customize mass spectrometry scanning for major HUFA-carrying PLs in the retinal extract. Targeted multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) scanning via triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry detected native (unoxidized) and oxidation-damaged PL regardless of the position of the O or O2 addition along the acyl chains and enabled quantification of relative signals from intact native and oxidized PL (5%-10% CV). MRM-triggered information-dependent acquisition (IDA) spectra confirmed the structure of peroxidized PLs, revealing that peroxidized species (+O-OH) dominated over single O-added species in vitro and in vivo. Positive identification and relative quantification are reported for 12 selected in vivo native and peroxidized phosphatidylcholines and phosphatidylethanolamines. These results enable future studies of the initial peroxidation due to toxins, genetics, or other initiating events influencing in vivo oxidation levels and potentially the effectiveness of strategies to mitigate this mechanism of action.

OBJECTIVE: Evidence regarding percutaneous vertebroplasty (PV) for chronic painful osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) remains limited. To compare pain relief, quality of life, and disability between PV and active control (anesthetic infiltration) interventions for chronic OVCF. DESIGN: Randomized controlled trial. METHODS: This prospective randomized clinical trial was conducted between May 2013 and June 2019 in participants with pain due to OVCF lasting longer than 3 months with bone marrow edema present at MRI. Study participants were randomly assigned to undergo PV (n = 40) or active control intervention (n = 40). The primary outcome was pain severity, assessed with the visual analog scale (VAS) (range, 0-10) during 12 months after treatment. Secondary outcomes included Quality of Life Questionnaire of the European Foundation for Osteoporosis (QUALEFFO) score (range, 0-100) and Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ) score (range, 0-100). Outcomes were analyzed according to a longitudinal multilevel model used to test the difference between groups in change from baseline across follow-up. RESULTS: The mean age of the 80 participants (54 women) was 69 years ± 10 (SD) in the PV group and 71 years ± 10 in the active control group. VAS score was 7.6 (95% CI: 7.0, 8.2) in the PV group and 7.3 (95% CI: 6.9, 7.8) in the active control group at baseline (P = .47) and 3.9 (95% CI: 3.1, 4.8) and 5.1 (95% CI: 4.3, 6.0), respectively, at month 12 (P = .045). At month 12, the group difference from baseline was 1.3 (95% CI: 0.1, 2.6; P = .02) for VAS, 5.2 (95% CI: 0.9, 9.4; P = .02) for QUALEFFO, and 7.1 (95% CI: -3.3, 17.5; P = .18) for RMDQ, favoring the PV group. CONCLUSION: In the treatment of pain caused by chronic OVCFs, PV is more effective for pain relief and quality of life improvement than anesthetic injection alone, with similar improvement for disability between the groups.

The NAD+-reducing soluble [NiFe] hydrogenase (SH) is the key enzyme for production and consumption of molecular hydrogen (H2) in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803. In this study, we focused on the reductase module of the SynSH and investigated the structural and functional aspects of its subunits, particularly the so far elusive role of HoxE. We demonstrated the importance of HoxE for enzyme functionality, suggesting a regulatory role in maintaining enzyme activity and electron supply. Spectroscopic analysis confirmed that HoxE and HoxF each contain one [2Fe2S] cluster with an almost identical electronic structure. Structure predictions, alongside experimental evidence for ferredoxin interactions, revealed a remarkable similarity between SynSH and bifurcating hydrogenases, suggesting a related functional mechanism. Our study unveiled the subunit arrangement and cofactor composition essential for biological electron transfer. These findings enhance our understanding of NAD+-reducing [NiFe] hydrogenases in terms of their physiological function and structural requirements for biotechnologically relevant modifications.

Aspects of the acute experience induced by the serotonergic psychedelic psilocybin predict symptomatic relief in multiple psychiatric disorders and improved well-being in healthy participants, but whether these therapeutic effects are immediate or are based on memories of the experience is unclear. To examine this, we co-administered psilocybin (25 mg) with the amnestic benzodiazepine midazolam in 8 healthy participants and assayed the subjective quality of, and memory for, the dosing-day experience. We identified a midazolam dose that allowed a conscious psychedelic experience to occur while partially impairing memory for the experience. Furthermore, midazolam dose and memory impairment tended to associate inversely with salience, insight, and well-being induced by psilocybin. These data suggest a role for memory in therapeutically relevant behavioral effects occasioned by psilocybin. Because midazolam blocks memory by blocking cortical neural plasticity, it may also be useful for evaluating the contribution of the pro-neuroplastic properties of psychedelics to their therapeutic activity.

We observed an increase in the frequency of Candida auris among invasive candidiasis isolates in the 2022 SENTRY Antifungal Surveillance Program compared to prior years: ≤0.1% before 2018, 0.4%-0.6% from 2018 to 2021, and 1.6% in 2022. C. auris isolates were collected in seven countries, but 28 (35.9%) isolates were recovered in the USA (five states; more common in New York, Texas, and New Jersey) and 26 (33.3%) in Panama. Greece and Turkey had 12 and 9 isolates, respectively. Overall, 82.1% of the isolates were resistant to fluconazole; 17.9% were resistant to amphotericin B; and 1.3% were resistant to caspofungin, anidulafungin, or micafungin (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tentative resistance breakpoints). Rezafungin inhibited 96.2% of the isolates (Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute susceptibility breakpoint). Pandrug resistance was not observed, but 17.9% of the isolates were resistant to fluconazole and amphotericin B. South Asian (Clade I) isolates were most common (n = 40, 51.3%); of these, 97.5% were resistant to fluconazole and 30.0% were resistant to amphotericin B. Thirty (38.5%) isolates belonged to the South American region (Clade IV), and 56.7% of those were resistant to fluconazole and 6.7% to amphotericin B. Seven isolates belonged to the South African Clade III and one to East Asian Clade II. Erg11 (Y132F, K143R, and F126L) and MRR1 (N647T) alterations were detected. One isolate that was resistant to all echinocandins carried an FKS R1354G alteration. Two isolates displayed elevated rezafungin minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) values but low MIC values against other echinocandins and no FKS alterations. As C. auris is spreading globally, monitoring this species is prudent.

The great success of chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy in the treatment of patients with B-cell malignancies has prompted its translation to solid tumors. In the case of glioblastoma (GBM), clinical trials have shown modest efficacy, but efforts to develop more effective anti-GBM CAR T cells are ongoing. In this study, we selected PTPRZ1 as a target for GBM treatment. We isolated six anti-human PTPRZ1 scFv from a human phage display library and produced 2nd generation CAR T cells in an RNA format. Patient-derived GBM PTPRZ1-knock-in cell lines were used to select the CAR construct that showed high cytotoxicity while consistently displaying high CAR expression (471_28z). CAR T cells incorporating 471_28z were able to release IFN-γ, IL-2, TNF-α, Granzyme B, IL-17A, IL-6, and soluble FasL, and displayed low tonic signaling. Additionally, they maintained an effector memory phenotype after in vitro killing. In addition, 471_28z CAR T cells displayed strong bystander killing against PTPRZ1-negative cell lines after pre-activation by PTPRZ1-positive tumor cells but did not kill antigen-negative non-tumor cells. In an orthotopic xenograft tumor model using NSG mice, a single dose of anti-PTPRZ1 CAR T cells significantly delayed tumor growth. Taken together, these results validate PTPRZ1 as a GBM target and prompt the clinical translation of anti-PTPRZ1 CAR T cells.

Herein we demonstrate that the rapid 'shapeshifting' constitutional isomerization of a substituted bullvalene is influenced by the E-to-Z configurational isomerization of a remote carbamate group, giving rise to correlated motion. We find that, while the E-configurational isomer of a bulky carbamate favors the ß-bullvalene constitutional isomer, a noncovalent bonding interaction within the Z-carbamate tips the equilibrium toward the γ-bullvalene form. Using DFT modelling and NMR spectroscopy, this long-range interaction is identified as being between the bullvalene core and a pendant phenyl group connected to the carbamate. Coupling the constitutional changes of a bullvalene to a reciprocal configurational isomerization through a long-range interaction in this way will allow shapeshifting rearrangements to be exploited as part of collective motion in extended structures.

Here, we analyze the stereodynamic properties of bullvalenes using principal moments of inertia and exit vector plots to draw comparisons with commonly used ring systems in medicinal chemistry. To aid analyses, we first classify (i) the four elementary rearrangement steps available to substituted bullvalenes, which (ii) can be described by applying positional descriptors (α, ß, γ, and δ) to the substituents. We also (iii) derive an intuitive equation to calculate the number of isomers for a given bullvalene system. Using DFT-modelled structures for di-, tri-, and tetrasubstituted bullvalenes, generated using a newly developed computational tool (bullviso), we show that their 3D shapes and the exit vectors available from the bullvalene scaffold make them comparable to other bioisosteres currently used to replace planar aromatic ring systems in drug discovery. Unlike conventional ring systems, the shapeshifting valence isomerism of bullvalenes gives rise to numerous shapes and substituent relationships attainable as a concentration-independent dynamic covalent library from a single compound. We visualize this property by applying population weightings to the principal moments of inertia and exit vector analyses to reflect the relative thermodynamic stabilities of the available isomers.

BACKGROUND: Ductal features alone may not offer high diagnostic sensitivity or most accurate disease severity of chronic pancreatitis (CP). PURPOSE: Diagnose CP based on multiparametric MRI and MRCP features. STUDY TYPE: Prospective. POPULATION: Between February 2019 and May 2021, 46 control (23 males, 49.3 ± 14.1 years), 45 suspected (20 males, 48.7 ± 12.5 years), and 46 definite (20 males, 53.7 ± 14.6 years) CP patients were enrolled at seven hospitals enrolled in the MINIMAP study. CP classification was based on imaging findings and clinical presentation. FIELD STRENGTH AND SEQUENCES: 1.5 T. T1-weighted (T1W) spoiled gradient echo, T1 map with variable flip angle, dual-echo Dixon, secretin-enhanced MRCP before and after secretin infusion. ASSESSMENT: Dual-echo fat fraction (FF), T1 relaxation time, extracellular volume (ECV), T1 signal intensity ratio of the pancreas to the spleen (T1 score), arterial-to-venous enhancement ratio (AVR), pancreatic tail diameter (PTD), pancreas volume, late gadolinium enhancement, pancreatic ductal elasticity (PDE), and duodenal filling grade of secretin-enhanced MRCP were measured. STATISTICAL TESTS: Logistic regression analysis generated CP-MRI and secretin-enhanced CP-SMRI scores. Receiver operating characteristics analysis was used to differentiate definite CP from control. Interobserver agreement was assessed using Lin's concordance correlation coefficient. RESULTS: Compared to control, definite CP cohort showed significantly higher dual-echo FF (7% vs. 11%), lower AVR (1.35 vs. 0.85), smaller PTD (2.5 cm vs. 1.95 cm), higher ECV (28% vs. 38%), and higher incidence of PDE loss (6.5% vs. 50%). With the cut-off of >2.5 CP-MRI score (dual-echo FF, AVR, and PTD) and CP-SMRI score (dual-echo FF, AVR, PTD, and PDE) had cross-validated area under the curves of 0.84 (sensitivity 87%, specificity 68%) and 0.86 (sensitivity 89%, specificity 67%), respectively. Interobserver agreement for both CP-MRI and CP-SMRI scores was 0.74. CONCLUSION: The CP-MRI and CP-SMRI scores yielded acceptable performance and interobserver agreement for the diagnosis of CP. Women veterans are a steadily growing population and have unique military experiences (e.g., report high rates of sexual harassment and assault) that are impactful across the lifespan. High levels of positive social support have been linked to a range of positive outcomes in both civilian and military populations. However, research has not consistently explored social support and interpersonal functioning in women veterans, or as potential mechanisms of change within interventions for women veterans. This is a scoping review of peer-reviewed articles that evaluated social support. Articles with at least 10% women or formally evaluated sex or gender in reference to social support were included. A total of 69 studies evaluated social support in relation to women veterans' health outcomes. From a biopsychosocial perspective, social support is an important construct to examine relative to health care engagement and response. Limited research considered aging women veterans needs or focused on the intersectional identities of women veterans. Positive social support can have major physical and mental health benefits, yet limited research and disparate methodological approaches minimize the ability to draw conclusions on how social support can best be leveraged to support women veterans. Women veterans' roles and military experiences (e.g., increased likelihood of combat exposure) are changing and this population is aging. Research is needed to inform best practices for this growing segment of the veteran population.


Women veterans are a growing population with unique military experiences and post-service health needs. Positive social support can have major physical and mental health benefits, however unique effects of women veterans' social support have been understudied particularly with regards to the impact over the lifespan. This review summarizes the state of literature on social support in women veterans, describes relationships among social support and mental and physical health outcomes, and highlights implications for future research, intervention, and prevention work.

Decision-making ability in players during match-play is mostly acquired through practice activities with the same underlying structure as competition. However, researchers have not fully investigated how coaches design practice sessions at the participation level of the sport (i.e. 'grassroots'), or why they use a particular activity at a specific time point. This study explores the practice activities employed by youth soccer coaches at the participation level in England and aims to understand their underlying intentions. Twelve male coaches working with players aged 9-11 years across ten clubs in the London region participated. Thirty-five practice sessions were filmed and analysed to assess the proportion of time spent in activities involving 'non-active decision-making' (e.g., technical practices, fitness training) versus 'active decision-making' (e.g., small-sided and conditioned games, skills practice with realistic opposition). A brief on-field interview with the coaches about the session purpose took place immediately after each systematic observation. Coaches allocated similar amounts of time to activities with active (M = 41%) and non-active (M = 42%) decision making, with the remaining 17% being transitions. There was a common progression from non-active decision-making activities early in the session towards increased active decision-making later in the session. Interviews with coaches revealed a belief in the necessity of frequent non-active decision-making practices for technique development, despite potential disparities with improving match performance. Findings highlight a potential gap between scientific understanding and coaching practices for young soccer players at the participation level, suggesting implications for coach education programmes and the optimisation of player development strategies.

Despite the increasing demand for efficient and sustainable chemical processes, the development of scalable systems using biocatalysis for fine chemical production remains a significant challenge. We have developed a scalable flow system using immobilized enzymes to facilitate flavin-dependent biocatalysis, targeting as a proof-of-concept asymmetric alkene reduction. The system integrates a flavin-dependent Old Yellow Enzyme (OYE) and a soluble hydrogenase to enable H2-driven regeneration of the OYE cofactor FMNH2. Molecular hydrogen was produced by water electrolysis using a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer and introduced into the flow system via a designed gas membrane addition module at a high diffusion rate. The flow system shows remarkable stability and reusability, consistently achieving >99% conversion of ketoisophorone to levodione. It also demonstrates versatility and selectivity in reducing various cyclic enones and can be extended to further flavin-based biocatalytic approaches and gas-dependent reactions. This electro-driven continuous flow system, therefore, has significant potential for advancing sustainable processes in fine chemical synthesis.

The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism's (NIAAA) definition of alcohol use disorder (AUD) recovery stipulates two criteria: remission from DSM-5 AUD and cessation of heavy drinking. Importantly, these criteria allow for consideration of nonabstinent alcohol treatment outcomes. However, researchers have yet to assess potential predictors of the NIAAA recovery outcome. The current study examined associations between mental health and coping predictors of NIAAA recovery status in an AUD treatment sample. At baseline (BL) and end-of-treatment (EOT) research interviews in a clinical trial, participants (N = 118) completed questionnaires assessing alcohol dependence, mental health, and confidence levels in reducing heavy drinking, as well as alcohol use and DSM-5 AUD symptom endorsement. Logistic regression models tested the associations between chosen predictors and the odds of achieving NIAAA recovery. Twenty-four percent of individuals (n = 28) met both criteria for NIAAA recovery at EOT. Higher levels of BL state anxiety and anxiety sensitivity predicted lower odds of achieving NIAAA recovery, while greater confidence to reduce heavy drinking predicted increased odds of NIAAA recovery. Social workers are encouraged to continue assessing and addressing mental health in AUD treatment to help individuals with alcohol problems achieve their AUD recovery goals.

The transcription factor forkhead/winged-helix domain proteins Foxp1 and Foxp2 have previously been studied in mouse retina, where they are expressed in retinal ganglion cells named F-mini and F-midi. Here we show that both transcription factors are expressed by small subpopulations (on average less than 10%) of retinal ganglion cells in the retina of the marmoset monkey (Callithrix jacchus). The morphology of Foxp1- and Foxp2-expressing cells was revealed by intracellular DiI injections of immunofluorescent cells. Foxp1- and Foxp2-expressing cells comprised multiple types of wide-field ganglion cells, including broad thorny cells, narrow thorny cells, and tufted cells. The large majority of Foxp2-expressing cells were identified as tufted cells. Tufted cells stratify broadly in the middle of the inner plexiform layer. They resemble broad thorny cells but their proximal dendrites are bare of branches and the distal dendrites branch frequently forming dense dendritic tufts. Double labeling with calretinin, a previously established marker for broad thorny and narrow thorny cells, showed that only a small proportion of ganglion cells co-expressed calretinin and Foxp1 or Foxp2 supporting the idea that the two markers are differentially expressed in retinal ganglion cells of marmoset retina.

Over the last three decades, the technology that makes it possible to follow chemical processes in the solid state in real time has grown enormously. These studies have important implications for the design of new functional materials for applications in optoelectronics and sensors. Light-matter interactions are of particular importance, and photocrystallography has proved to be an important tool for studying these interactions. In this technique, the three-dimensional structures of light-activated molecules, in their excited states, are determined using single-crystal X-ray crystallography. With advances in the design of high-power lasers, pulsed LEDs and time-gated X-ray detectors, the increased availability of synchrotron facilities, and most recently, the development of XFELs, it is now possible to determine the structures of molecules with lifetimes ranging from minutes down to picoseconds, within a single crystal, using the photocrystallographic technique. This review discusses the procedures for conducting successful photocrystallographic studies and outlines the different methodologies that have been developed to study structures with specific lifetime ranges. The complexity of the methods required increases considerably as the lifetime of the excited state shortens. The discussion is supported by examples of successful photocrystallographic studies across a range of timescales and emphasises the importance of the use of complementary analytical techniques in order to understand the solid-state processes fully.

Despite the global significance of wetlands, conservation strategies often fall short in preserving these ecosystems due to failures in incorporating processes that sustain the ecosystem functioning, hydrological dynamics, ecological processes, and biodiversity of wetlands. Nature-based solutions, such as the reintroduction of beavers, have emerged as effective tools for promoting wetland restoration. Whilst the impact of beavers on wetland restoration is well known, their broader influence on ecosystem health, particularly in modifying habitats for other species, remains inadequately understood. Here we assess the impact that habitat modification through the reintroduction of beavers has on bat populations. There were significantly greater activity levels within beaver-modified wetland habitats for multiple bat species, including higher activity levels of 393 % for Barbastella barbastellus and 313 % for Plecotus spp.. Additionally, we observed positive effects on bat populations in the woodland habitat surrounding beaver-modified wetland for certain taxa. In the face of escalating challenges posed by climate change and habitat loss, addressing biodiversity loss necessitates a shift toward ecosystem-centric mitigation measures. Our study demonstrates that the reintroduction of keystone species like beavers can re-establish historical facilitative links between aquatic and terrestrial food webs, highlighting the importance of such interventions in fostering the resilience and sustainability of entire ecosystems.

Lassa fever is a zoonotic disease identified by the World Health Organization (WHO) as having pandemic potential. This study estimates the health-economic burden of Lassa fever throughout West Africa and projects impacts of a series of vaccination campaigns. We also model the emergence of 'Lassa-X'-a hypothetical pandemic Lassa virus variant-and project impacts of achieving 100 Days Mission vaccination targets. Our model predicted 2.7 million (95% uncertainty interval: 2.1-3.4 million) Lassa virus infections annually, resulting over 10 years in 2.0 million (793,800-3.9 million) disability-adjusted life years (DALYs). The most effective vaccination strategy was a population-wide preventive campaign primarily targeting WHO-classified 'endemic' districts. Under conservative vaccine efficacy assumptions, this campaign averted $20.1 million ($8.2-$39.0 million) in lost DALY value and $128.2 million ($67.2-$231.9 million) in societal costs (2021 international dollars ($)). Reactive vaccination in response to local outbreaks averted just one-tenth the health-economic burden of preventive campaigns. In the event of Lassa-X emerging, spreading throughout West Africa and causing approximately 1.2 million DALYs within 2 years, 100 Days Mission vaccination averted 22% of DALYs given a vaccine 70% effective against disease and 74% of DALYs given a vaccine 70% effective against both infection and disease. These findings suggest how vaccination could alleviate Lassa fever's burden and assist in pandemic preparedness.

BACKGROUND: Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) features highly desmoplastic stroma that promotes structural and functional resistance to therapy. Lysyl oxidases (LOX, LOXL1-4) catalyze collagen cross-linking, thereby increasing stromal rigidity and facilitating therapeutic resistance. Here, we evaluate the role of lysyl oxidases in stromal desmoplasia and the effects of pan-lysyl oxidase (pan-LOX) inhibition in CCA. METHODS: Resected CCA and normal liver specimens were analyzed from archival tissues. Spontaneous and orthotopic murine models of intrahepatic CCA (iCCA) were used to assess the impact of the pan-LOX inhibitor PXS-5505 in treatment and correlative studies. The functional role of pan-LOX inhibition was interrogated through in vivo and ex vivo assays. RESULTS: All 5 lysyl oxidases are upregulated in CCA and reduced lysyl oxidase expression is correlated with an improved prognosis in resected patients with CCA. Spontaneous and orthotopic murine models of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma upregulate all 5 lysyl oxidase isoforms. Pan-LOX inhibition reversed mechanical compression of tumor vasculature, resulting in improved chemotherapeutic penetrance and cytotoxic efficacy. The combination of chemotherapy with pan-LOX inhibition increased damage-associated molecular pattern release, which was associated with improved antitumor T-cell responses. Pan-LOX inhibition downregulated macrophage invasive signatures in vitro, rendering tumor-associated macrophages more susceptible to chemotherapy. Mice bearing orthotopic and spontaneously occurring intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma tumors exhibited delayed tumor growth and improved survival following a combination of pan-LOX inhibition with chemotherapy. CONCLUSIONS: CCA upregulates all 5 lysyl oxidase isoforms, and pan-LOX inhibition reverses tumor-induced mechanical forces associated with chemotherapy resistance to improve chemotherapeutic efficacy and reprogram antitumor immune responses. Thus, combination therapy with pan-LOX inhibition represents an innovative therapeutic strategy in CCA.
