OBJECTIVE: To compare the predictive performance for pre-eclampsia (PE) of three different first-trimester mathematical models of screening, which combine maternal risk factors with mean arterial pressure (MAP), uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) and serum placental growth factor (PlGF), and two risk scoring systems, based on NICE and ACOG recommendations. METHODS: This was a prospective cohort study performed in eight fetal-medicine units in five different regions of Spain between September 2017 and December 2019. All pregnant women with singleton pregnancies and non-malformed live fetuses attending their routine ultrasound examination at 11+0 to 13+6 weeks' gestation were invited to participate in the study. Maternal characteristics and medical history were recorded and measurements of MAP, UtA-PI, serum PlGF and pregnancy associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) were converted into multiples of the median (MoM). Risks for term, preterm-PE (< 37 weeks' gestation) and early-PE (< 34 weeks' gestation) were calculated according to the FMF competing risks model, the Crovetto et al., logistic regression model, and Serra et al., Gaussian model. Patient classification based on NICE and ACOG guidelines was also performed. We estimated detection rates (DR) with their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) at a fixed 10% screen positive rate (SPR), as well as the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUROC) for preterm-PE, early-PE, and all PE for the three mathematical models. For the scoring systems, we calculated DR and SPR. Risk calibration was also assessed. RESULTS: The study population comprised of 10,110 singleton pregnancies, including 32 (0.3%) that developed early-PE, 72 (0.7%) that developed preterm-PE and 230 (2.3%) of any PE. At fixed 10% SPR, the FMF, Crovetto et al., and Serra et al., detected 82.7% (95% CI, 69.6 to 95.8%), 73.8% (95% CI, 58.7 to 88.9%), and 79.8% (95% CI, 66.1 to 93.5%) of early-PE; 72.7% (95% CI, 62.9 to 82.6%), 69.2% (95% CI, 58.8 to 79.6%), and 74.1% (95% CI, 64.2 to 83.9%) of preterm-PE and 55.1% (95% CI, 48.8 to 61.4%), 47.1% (95% CI, 40.6 to 53.5%), and 53.9% (95% CI, 47.4 to 60.4%) of all PE, respectively. The best correlation between predicted and observed cases was achieved by the FMF model, with an AUROC of 0.911 (95% CI, 0.879 to 0.943), a slope of 0.983 (95% CI, 0.846-1.120) and an intercept of 0.154 (95% CI, -0.091 to 0.397). The NICE criteria identified 46.7% (95% CI, 35.3 to 58.0%) of preterm-PE at 11% SPR and ACOG criteria identified 65.9% (95% CI, 55.4 to 76.4%) of preterm-PE at 33.8% SPR. CONCLUSIONS: The best performance of screening for preterm-PE is achieved by mathematical models that combine maternal factors with MAP, UtA-PI and PlGF, as compared to risk-scoring systems like NICE or ACOG criteria. While all three algorithms show similar results in terms of overall prediction, the FMF model showed the best performance at the individual level. This article is protected by copyright. OBJECTIVE: Effective first-trimester screening for pre-eclampsia (PE) can be achieved using a competing-risks model that combines risk factors from the maternal history with multiples of the median (MoM) values of biomarkers. A new model using artificial intelligence through machine-learning methods has been shown to achieve similar screening performance without the need for conversion of raw data of biomarkers into MoM. This study aimed to investigate whether this model can be used across populations without specific adaptations. METHODS: Previously, a machine-learning model derived with the use of a fully connected neural network for first-trimester prediction of early (< 34 weeks), preterm (< 37 weeks) and all PE was developed and tested in a cohort of pregnant women in the UK. The model was based on maternal risk factors and mean arterial blood pressure (MAP), uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI), placental growth factor (PlGF) and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A). In this study, the model was applied to a dataset of 10 110 singleton pregnancies examined in Spain who participated in the first-trimester PE validation (PREVAL) study, in which first-trimester screening for PE was carried out using the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) competing-risks model. The performance of screening was assessed by examining the area under the receiver-operating-characteristics curve (AUC) and detection rate (DR) at a 10% screen-positive rate (SPR). These indices were compared with those derived from the application of the FMF competing-risks model. The performance of screening was poor if no adjustment was made for the analyzer used to measure PlGF, which was different in the UK and Spain. Therefore, adjustment for the analyzer used was performed using simple linear regression. RESULTS: The DRs at 10% SPR for early, preterm and all PE with the machine-learning model were 84.4% (95% CI, 67.2-94.7%), 77.8% (95% CI, 66.4-86.7%) and 55.7% (95% CI, 49.0-62.2%), respectively, with the corresponding AUCs of 0.920 (95% CI, 0.864-0.975), 0.913 (95% CI, 0.882-0.944) and 0.846 (95% CI, 0.820-0.872). This performance was achieved with the use of three of the biomarkers (MAP, UtA-PI and PlGF); inclusion of PAPP-A did not provide significant improvement in DR. The machine-learning model had similar performance to that achieved by the FMF competing-risks model (DR at 10% SPR, 82.7% (95% CI, 69.6-95.8%) for early PE, 72.7% (95% CI, 62.9-82.6%) for preterm PE and 55.1% (95% CI, 48.8-61.4%) for all PE) without requiring specific adaptations to the population. CONCLUSIONS: A machine-learning model for first-trimester prediction of PE based on a neural network provides effective screening for PE that can be applied in different populations. However, before doing so, it is essential to make adjustments for the analyzer used for biochemical testing. © 2023 International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of the Fetal Medicine Foundation (FMF) competing-risks model, incorporating maternal characteristics, mean arterial pressure (MAP), uterine artery pulsatility index (UtA-PI) and placental growth factor (PlGF) (the 'triple test'), for the prediction at 11-13 weeks' gestation of preterm pre-eclampsia (PE) in a Spanish population. METHODS: This was a prospective cohort study performed in eight fetal medicine units in five different regions of Spain between September 2017 and December 2019. All pregnant women with a singleton pregnancy and a non-malformed live fetus attending a routine ultrasound examination at 11 + 0 to 13 + 6 weeks' gestation were invited to participate. Maternal demographic characteristics and medical history were recorded and MAP, UtA-PI, serum PlGF and pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) were measured following standardized protocols. Treatment with aspirin during pregnancy was also recorded. Raw values of biomarkers were converted into multiples of the median (MoM), and audits were performed periodically to provide regular feedback to operators and laboratories. Patient-specific risks for term and preterm PE were calculated according to the FMF competing-risks model, blinded to pregnancy outcome. The performance of screening for PE, taking into account aspirin use, was assessed by calculating the area under the receiver-operating-characteristics curve (AUC) and detection rate (DR) at a 10% fixed screen-positive rate (SPR). Risk calibration of the model was assessed. RESULTS: The study population comprised 10 110 singleton pregnancies, including 72 (0.7%) that developed preterm PE. In the preterm PE group, compared to those without PE, median MAP MoM and UtA-PI MoM were significantly higher, and median serum PlGF MoM and PAPP-A MoM were significantly lower. In women with PE, the deviation from normal in all biomarkers was inversely related to gestational age at delivery. Screening for preterm PE by a combination of maternal characteristics and medical history with MAP, UtA-PI and PlGF had a DR, at 10% SPR, of 72.7% (95% CI, 62.9-82.6%). An alternative strategy of replacing PlGF with PAPP-A in the triple test was associated with poorer screening performance for preterm PE, giving a DR of 66.5% (95% CI, 55.8-77.2%). The calibration plot showed good agreement between predicted risk and observed incidence of preterm PE, with a slope of 0.983 (95% CI, 0.846-1.120) and an intercept of 0.154 (95% CI, -0.091 to 0.397). CONCLUSIONS: The FMF model is effective in predicting preterm PE in the Spanish population at 11-13 weeks' gestation. This method of screening is feasible to implement in routine clinical practice, but it should be accompanied by a robust audit and monitoring system, in order to maintain high-quality screening. © 2023 International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

OBJECTIVE: To estimate the risk of miscarriage associated with chorionic villus sampling (CVS). METHODS: This was a retrospective cohort study of women attending for routine ultrasound examination at 11 + 0 to 13 + 6 weeks' gestation at one of eight fetal-medicine units in Spain, Belgium and Bulgaria, between July 2007 and June 2018. Two populations were included: (1) all singleton pregnancies undergoing first-trimester assessment at Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca in Murcia, Spain, that did not have CVS (non-CVS group); and (2) all singleton pregnancies that underwent CVS following first-trimester assessment at one of the eight participating centers (CVS group). We excluded pregnancies diagnosed with genetic anomalies or major fetal defects before or after birth, those that resulted in termination and those that underwent amniocentesis later in pregnancy. We used propensity score (PS) matching analysis to estimate the association between CVS and miscarriage. We compared the risk of miscarriage of the CVS and non-CVS groups after PS matching (1:1 ratio). This procedure creates two comparable groups balancing the maternal and pregnancy characteristics that are associated with CVS, in a similar way to that in which randomization operates in a randomized clinical trial. RESULTS: The study population consisted of 22 250 pregnancies in the non-CVS group and 3613 in the CVS group. The incidence of miscarriage in the CVS group (2.1%; 77/3613) was significantly higher than that in the non-CVS group (0.9% (207/22 250); P < 0.0001). The PS algorithm matched 2122 CVS with 2122 non-CVS cases, of which 40 (1.9%) and 55 (2.6%) pregnancies in the CVS and non-CVS groups, respectively, resulted in a miscarriage (odds ratio (OR), 0.72 (95% CI, 0.48-1.10); P = 0.146). We found a significant interaction between the risk of miscarriage following CVS and the risk of aneuploidy, suggesting that the effect of CVS on the risk of miscarriage differs depending on background characteristics. Specifically, when the risk of aneuploidy is low, the risk of miscarriage after CVS increases (OR, 2.87 (95% CI, 1.13-7.30)) and when the aneuploidy risk is high, the risk of miscarriage after CVS is paradoxically reduced (OR, 0.47 (95% CI, 0.28-0.76)), presumably owing to prenatal diagnosis and termination of pregnancies with major aneuploidies that would otherwise have resulted in spontaneous miscarriage. For example, in a patient in whom the risk of aneuploidy is 1 in 1000 (0.1%), the risk of miscarriage after CVS will increase to 0.3% (0.2 percentage points higher). CONCLUSIONS: The risk of miscarriage in women undergoing CVS is about 1% higher than that in women who do not have CVS, although this excess risk is not solely attributed to the invasive procedure but, to some extent, to the demographic and pregnancy characteristics of the patients. After accounting for these risk factors and confining the analysis to low-risk pregnancies, CVS seems to increase the risk of miscarriage by about three times above the patient's background risk. Although this is a substantial increase in relative terms, in pregnancies without risk factors for miscarriage, the risk of miscarriage after CVS remains low and similar to, or slightly higher than, that in the general population. Nuevo enfoque para estimar el riesgo de aborto después de una biopsia de vellosidades coriónicas OBJETIVO: Estimar el riesgo de aborto asociado con la biopsia de vellosidades coriónicas (BVC). MÉTODOS: Se trata de un estudio retrospectivo de cohorte de mujeres que acudieron a un examen ecográfico de rutina entre las 11+0 y las 13+6 semanas de gestación a una de entre un total de ocho centros de medicina fetal en España, Bélgica y Bulgaria, entre julio de 2007 y junio de 2018. En el estudio se incluyeron dos poblaciones: 1) todos los embarazos con feto único sometidos a evaluación del primer trimestre en el Hospital Clínico Universitario Virgen de la Arrixaca de Murcia (España), a las que no se les hizo una BVC (grupo no BVC); y 2) todos los embarazos con feto único sometidos a BVC tras la evaluación del primer trimestre en uno de los ocho centros participantes (grupo BVC). Se excluyeron los embarazos diagnosticados con anomalías genéticas o defectos fetales importantes antes o después del nacimiento, los que resultaron en una interrupción y los que más tarde se sometieron a amniocentesis durante el embarazo. Para estimar la relación entre la BVC y el aborto espontáneo se utilizó el pareamiento por puntaje de propensión (PPP). Se comparó el riesgo de aborto de los grupos BVC y no BVC después del pareamiento PPP (razón 1:1). Este procedimiento creó dos grupos comparables en los que las características de la madre y el embarazo que se asocian con la BVC estaban equilibradas, de manera similar a cómo funciona la aleatorización en un ensayo clínico aleatorizado. RESULTADOS: La población de estudio consistió en 22.250 embarazos en el grupo no BVC y 3.613 en el grupo BVC. La incidencia de abortos en el grupo BVC (2,1%; 77/3.613) fue significativamente mayor que en el grupo no BVC (0,9% (207/22.250); P<0,0001). El algoritmo del PPP emparejó 2.122 BVC con 2.122 casos no BVC, de los cuales 40 (1,9%) y 55 (2,6%) embarazos en los grupos BVC y no BVC, respectivamente, resultaron en un aborto espontáneo (razón de momios (RM), 0,72 (IC 95%, 0,48-1,10); P=0,146). Se encontró una interacción significativa entre el riesgo de aborto espontáneo después de una BVC y el riesgo de aneuploidía, lo que sugiere que el efecto de la BVC en el riesgo de aborto espontáneo difiere según las características del contexto. Concretamente, cuando el riesgo de aneuploidía es bajo, el riesgo de aborto después de una BVC aumenta (RM, 2,87 (IC 95%, 1,13-7,30)) y cuando el riesgo de aneuploidía es alto, paradójicamente el riesgo de aborto después de una BVC se reduce (RM, 0,47 (IC 95%, 0,28-0,76)), presumiblemente debido al diagnóstico prenatal y a la interrupción de embarazos con aneuploidías importantes que, de otro modo, hubieran provocado un aborto espontáneo. Por ejemplo, en una paciente para quien el riesgo de aneuploidía es de 1 entre 1000 (0,1%), el riesgo de aborto después de la BVC aumenta al 0,3% (0,2 puntos porcentuales más alto). CONCLUSIONES: El riesgo de aborto espontáneo en las mujeres que se someten a una BVC es aproximadamente un 1% mayor que el de las mujeres a las que no se les hace, aunque este exceso de riesgo no se atribuye únicamente al procedimiento agresivo sino, en cierta medida, a las características demográficas y del embarazo de cada paciente. Después de tener en cuenta estos factores de riesgo y limitar el análisis a los embarazos de bajo riesgo, la BVC parece triplicar aproximadamente el riesgo de aborto en comparación con el riesgo de fondo de la paciente. Aunque se trata de un aumento sustancial en términos relativos, en los embarazos sin factores de riesgo de aborto, después de una BVC el riesgo de aborto sigue siendo bajo y similar, o ligeramente superior, al de la población en general. OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the association between physical exercise during pregnancy and maternal gestational weight gain and fetal cardiac function. METHODS: This was a randomized controlled trial of women with a singleton pregnancy managed from the first trimester at the Hospital de Torrejón, Madrid, between November 2014 and June 2015. Women were randomized to either follow a supervised physical conditioning program, consisting of a 60-min session 3 days per week for the duration of pregnancy, or not attend any exercise program (controls). The primary outcome was maternal weight gain during pregnancy. Secondary outcomes included fetal cardiac function parameters evaluated at 20, 28 and 36 weeks' gestation, Cesarean section, preterm delivery, induction of labor and birth weight. A sample size of 45 in each group was planned to detect differences in maternal weight gain of at least 1 kg, with a power of > 80% and α of 0.05. RESULTS: During the study period, 120 women were randomized into the exercise (n = 75) and control (n = 45) groups. Following exclusions, the final cohort consisted of 42 women in the exercise group and 43 in the control group. Baseline characteristics (maternal age, prepregnancy body mass index, parity, conception by in-vitro fertilization, Caucasian ethnicity, physical exercise prior to pregnancy and smoker) were similar between the two groups. No differences were found between the groups in maternal weight at 20, 28, 36 and 38 weeks' gestation or in weight gain at 38 weeks. However, the proportion of women with weight loss ≥ 9 kg at 6 weeks postpartum was higher in the exercise compared with the control group (68.2% vs 42.8%; relative risk 1.593; P = 0.02). The ductus arteriosus pulsatility index (DA-PI) at 20 weeks (2.43 ± 0.40 vs 2.26 ± 0.33, P < 0.05) and the ejection fraction (EF) at 36 weeks (0.85 ± 0.13 vs 0.81 ± 0.11, P < 0.05) were higher in the exercise compared with the control group. All other evaluated fetal cardiac function parameters were similar between the two groups. CONCLUSIONS: Performing exercise during pregnancy is not associated with a reduction in maternal weight gain but increases weight loss at 6 weeks postpartum. Physical exercise during pregnancy is associated with increased fetal DA-PI at 20 weeks and EF at 36 weeks, which could reflect adaptive mechanisms. Copyright © 2018 ISUOG. OBJECTIVES: To review clinical validation or implementation studies of maternal blood cell-free (cf) DNA analysis and define the performance of screening for fetal trisomies 21, 18 and 13 and sex chromosome aneuploidies (SCA). METHODS: Searches of PubMed, EMBASE and The Cochrane Library were performed to identify all peer-reviewed articles on cfDNA testing in screening for aneuploidies between January 2011, when the first such study was published, and 31 December 2016. The inclusion criteria were peer-reviewed study reporting on clinical validation or implementation of maternal cfDNA testing in screening for aneuploidies, in which data on pregnancy outcome were provided for more than 85% of the study population. We excluded case-control studies, proof-of-principle articles and studies in which the laboratory scientists carrying out the tests were aware of fetal karyotype or pregnancy outcome. Pooled detection rates (DRs) and false-positive rates (FPRs) were calculated using bivariate random-effects regression models. RESULTS: In total, 35 relevant studies were identified and these were used for the meta-analysis on the performance of cfDNA testing in screening for aneuploidies. These studies reported cfDNA results in relation to fetal karyotype from invasive testing or clinical outcome. In the combined total of 1963 cases of trisomy 21 and 223 932 non-trisomy 21 singleton pregnancies, the weighted pooled DR and FPR were 99.7% (95% CI, 99.1-99.9%) and 0.04% (95% CI, 0.02-0.07%), respectively. In a total of 563 cases of trisomy 18 and 222 013 non-trisomy 18 singleton pregnancies, the weighted pooled DR and FPR were 97.9% (95% CI, 94.9-99.1%) and 0.04% (95% CI, 0.03-0.07%), respectively. In a total of 119 cases of trisomy 13 and 212 883 non-trisomy 13 singleton pregnancies, the weighted pooled DR and FPR were 99.0% (95% CI, 65.8-100%) and 0.04% (95% CI, 0.02-0.07%), respectively. In a total of 36 cases of monosomy X and 7676 unaffected singleton pregnancies, the weighted pooled DR and FPR were 95.8% (95% CI, 70.3-99.5%) and 0.14% (95% CI, 0.05-0.38%), respectively. In a combined total of 17 cases of SCA other than monosomy X and 5400 unaffected singleton pregnancies, the weighted pooled DR and FPR were 100% (95% CI, 83.6-100%) and 0.004% (95% CI, 0.0-0.08%), respectively. For twin pregnancies, in a total of 24 cases of trisomy 21 and 1111 non-trisomy 21 cases, the DR was 100% (95% CI, 95.2-100%) and FPR was 0.0% (95% CI, 0.0-0.003%), respectively. CONCLUSIONS: Screening by analysis of cfDNA in maternal blood in singleton pregnancies could detect > 99% of fetuses with trisomy 21, 98% of trisomy 18 and 99% of trisomy 13 at a combined FPR of 0.13%. The number of reported cases of SCA is too small for accurate assessment of performance of screening. In twin pregnancies, performance of screening for trisomy 21 is encouraging but the number of cases reported is small. Copyright © 2017 ISUOG. Published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.

OBJECTIVE: To describe our experience in first-trimester screening for trisomies 21 and 18 firstly by the combined test alone and secondly by cell-free (cf) DNA testing contingent on the results from a previously performed combined test. METHODS: Women with singleton pregnancies attending Torrejon University Hospital in Madrid, Spain, from November 2011 to January 2016, were screened for trisomy (T)21 and T18 by the combined test at 11-13 weeks. Before the introduction of cfDNA testing, women at high risk (>1 in 250) were offered invasive testing (IT) and from January 2015 they were offered cfDNA test as well as IT. RESULTS: Combined test was performed in 6011 pregnancies. The risk was high in 202 (3.4%) cases. There was complete follow-up for 5507 (91.6%) pregnancies. Detection rate (DR) for T21 was 83.3% (15/18) and 100% (4/4) for T18. Additionally, 2/2 (100%) cases of T13 and 2/2 (100%) cases of triploidy were also detected. False positive rate (FPR) was 3.2% (174/5488). The introduction of this contingent model was followed by a 73% reduction on the IT rate in the high-risk group, from 76.3% to 20.8%. CONCLUSION: Contingent screening for trisomies 21 and 18 by cfDNA testing at 11-13 weeks is feasible and has a lower IT rate than combined testing alone.

OBJECTIVES: To compare the performance of three sonographic techniques, the 'reverse-face', 'flipped-face' and 'oblique-face' methods, for visualizing the hard and soft palate in diagnosing cleft lip and palate (CLP). METHODS: A total of 60 fetuses (10 with CLP) with a gestational age ranging from 20 to 33 weeks were examined. We compared visualization of the secondary palate with the previously described reverse-face and flipped-face methods (the latter modified by us) and the oblique-face method developed by us using Oblique View imaging technology. RESULTS: Among the 10 fetuses with CLP the defect involved the lip, alveolus and secondary palate in seven, and the primary palate only in the remaining three. The upper lip and alveolar ridge were well visualized in all cases with all three methods. Involvement of the hard palate was diagnosed correctly in 71% (5/7) of the cases using the reverse-face view, in 86% (6/7) with the flipped-face view, and in 100% (7/7) with the oblique-face view; the hard palate was correctly found to be intact in 78%, 84% and 86%, respectively, of the 50 normal fetuses examined with each view. Involvement of the soft palate was diagnosed correctly in only one of the seven fetuses with defects of the secondary palate in flipped-face and oblique-face views, and was correctly considered intact in only 16% of normal fetuses in flipped-face view and in 26% in oblique-face images. CONCLUSIONS: Accurate visualization of the soft palate requires an excellent initially acquired volume, fluid between the fetal tongue and palate, and curving of the plane to follow the structure of the palate. The oblique-face or flipped-face views make it possible to visualize the soft palate well in selected cases.

Objetivo: Demostrar que una adecuada protocolización de la asistencia quirúrgica y posquirúrgica permite disminuir la estancia hospitalaria en la cirugía ginecológica laparotómica benigna sin aumentar la morbilidad y manteniendo los estándares de calidad. Pacientes y método: Comparamos la estancia media hospitalaria de dos grupos homogéneos de pacientes: uno control de 54 pacientes y otro de estudio de 53, con procesos benignos ginecológicos a las que se practicó cirugía la parotómica. Al grupo de estudio se le sometió a un protocolo definido para facilitar el alta lo más tempranamente posible. Resultados: Ambos grupos fueron comparables respecto al tipo de ingreso, de cirugía practicada, comorbilidad, complicaciones y situación al alta. La estancia preoperatoria no evidenció diferencia significativa (p = 0,20). La estancia hospitalaria fue de 7,8 días para el grupo control y de 6,1 para el de estudio, existió una diferencia significativa entre ambos (p = 0,004). En ninguno de los grupos se presentó reingreso antes de 30 días ni relacionados. No se registraron reclamaciones ni sugerencias relacionadas con la duración de la estancia en atención al paciente. Conclusiones: Resulta posible una reducción de la estancia hospitalaria posquirúrgica para procedimientos ginecológicos, y ésta actúa de forma adecuada sobre los protocolos de cuidados postoperatorios (AU)

El síndrome de Roberts, también conocido como síndrome pseudotalidomídico(1), síndrome SC (iniciales de dos hermanos afectos) o síndrome SCfocomelia, es una rara disostosis(2) de herencia autosómica recesiva con una gran variedad de manifestaciones clínicas. De todas ellas las más características son la presencia de retraso en el crecimiento pre y postnatal, las anomalías craneofaciales y las reducciones simétricas de los miembros de diversa gravedad(3).En el estudio genético, aparecen alteraciones que afectan a la heterocromatina de las regiones pericéntricas y NOR de la mayoría de los cromosomas. Estas regiones presentan un aspecto hinchado, probablemente como resultado de la repulsión de las cromátides en estas zonas, lo que se traduce en separación prematura de los centrómeros durante la profase y la metafase(4).Esta separación prematura de los centrómeros se conoce con el nombre de efecto Roberts(4,5) (AU)
