Emulsified oils and dye contaminants already pose a huge threat to global ecosystems and human health. It is a significant research topic to develop efficient, rapid, versatile methods for emulsion separation and dye adsorption. The membrane material modified with common methods only modified the outer surface of the membrane, while the interior is hardly fully decorated. In this investigation, a solvent exchange method was used to in situ grow nanoparticles in the interior of a porous sponge. These nanoparticles were obtained with polyethyleneimine, gallic acid, and tannic acid via Michael addition and Schiff base reaction. The prepared nanoparticle-coated sponges provided efficient separation of dyes, emulsions, and complex contaminants. The separation efficiency of the dye reached 99.49%, and the separation efficiency of the emulsion was as high as 99.87% with a flux of 11140.3 L m-2 h-1. Furthermore, the maximum adsorption capacity reached 486.8 mg g-1 for cationic dyes and 182.1 mg g-1 for anionic dyes. More importantly, the nanoparticles were highly robust on the surface of the porous sponge, and the modified sponge could have long-term applications in hazardous environments. Overall, it is envisioned that the nanoparticles-modified porous sponge exhibited considerable potential for emulsion and dye wastewater treatment.

Background: Metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is a new concept with its own diagnostic criteria. There are few studies on its relationship with colorectal adenoma. Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between MAFLD and colorectal adenoma and to compare the predictive value of MAFLD with other risk factors. Methods: A total of 4436 consecutive physical examination subjects were enrolled. They all underwent colonoscopy and abdominal ultrasound. MAFLD was diagnosed by both fatty liver disease and metabolic dysfunction. The correlation between colorectal adenoma and MAFLD was studied using a logistic regression model. Results: The prevalence of MAFLD was 31.72 % (1407/4436). The adenoma detection rate in MAFLD patients was higher than that in controls (13.50 %, 190/1407 vs. 10.70 %, 324/3029, p < 0.001). Univariate analysis indicated that MAFLD individuals were 1.303-fold as likely to have colonic adenoma as controls [odds ratio (OR) 1.303 and 95 % confidence interval (CI), 1.076-1.578, p = 0.007]. Multivariate analysis showed that age, male sex, BMI and smoking were positively associated with the risk of colorectal adenoma, with OR values of 1.044 (95 % CI, 1.031 to 1.058), 1.720 (95 % CI, 1.221 to 2.424), 1.046 (95 % CI, 1.009 to 1.085) and 1.342 (95 % CI, 1.072 to 1.680), respectively. MAFLD in women, but not in men, had an independent relationship with increased detection of advanced adenoma (OR 3.932, 95 % CI, 1.023-15.1117, p = 0.046). Conclusion: Individuals with MAFLD are more likely to develop colorectal adenoma than those without MAFLD. The influence of MAFLD on advanced colorectal adenoma was especially prominent in females.

OBJECTIVE: To investigate the effect of contralateral controlled functional electrical stimulation (CCFES) combined with mirror therapy on motor function and negative mood in stroke patients. METHODS: Medical records of 94 stroke patients in Baoji Central Hospital admitted from April 2020 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them, 45 patients receiving routine rehabilitation training combined with mirror therapy were included in a control group, and 49 patients receiving CCFES combined with mirror therapy were in an observation group. Observation indexes included changes in Fugl-Meyer Assessment (FMA), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA), Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), Stroke Specific Quality of Life Scale (SS-QoL) score, and Barthel Index score before and after treatment. Patients with HAMA score >14 and HAMD score ≥20 after the treatment were included in a negative mood group, and logistics regression was used to analyze the risk factors for negative mood. RESULTS: The observation group had a significantly higher overall response rate after treatment compared to the control group. In addition, the observation group exhibited significantly higher scores in the FMA and BBS after treatment, indicating better physical function (P<0.001). Furthermore, the observation group showed lower HAMA and HAMD scores after treatment, suggesting reduced anxiety and depression levels (P<0.001). The quality-of-life scores measured by the SS-QoL and the Barthel Index score were both increased in the observation group after treatment, indicating better overall well-being and functional independence (P<0.001). Logistic regression analysis revealed that age, post-treatment SS-QoL scores, and post-treatment Barthel Index were identified as influencing factors for the onset of adverse emotions in patients (P<0.05). CONCLUSION: CCFES plus mirror therapy can effectively ameliorate limb function and lessen anxiety and depression in stroke patients, exerting beneficial effects on rehabilitation.

Objective: Transient ischemic attack is a significant risk factor for acute cerebral infarction. Previous studies have demonstrated that hypoperfusion in patients with transient ischemic attack was associated with the recurrence of transient ischemic attack, stroke, and persistent worsening of neurological symptoms. Moreover, transient ischemic attack patients classified as high-risk group according to the ABCD2 score have a higher incidence of stroke. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the plaque characteristics of transient ischemic attack patients with concomitant cerebral hypoperfusion using multimodal MRI, as well as hemodynamic changes in the high-risk group with transient ischemic attack patients. Materials and methods: A total of 151 patients with transient ischemic attack were prospectively recruited for this study. All enrolled patients underwent multimodal MRI, including DWI, TOF-MRA, HR-VWI, and DSC-PWI. Finally, 56 patients met the inclusion criteria. Based on DSC-PWI images, patients were divided into two groups: hypoperfusion (n = 41) and non-hypoperfusion (n = 15). Clinical baseline characteristics and plaque characteristics were analyzed between the two groups. Furthermore, within the hypoperfusion group, patients were further classified into low-risk (n = 11) and high-risk (n = 30) subgroups based on the ABCD2 score. Hemodynamic differences between these subgroups were also analyzed. Results: Compared with the non-hypoperfusion group, the hypoperfusion group had a significantly higher prevalence of hypertension (68.3% vs. 33.3%, p = 0.019) and hyperhomocysteinemia (65.9% vs. 33.3%, p = 0.029). Moreover, the hypoperfusion group exhibited more significant luminal stenosis degree [41.79 ±31.36 vs. 17.62±13.62, p = 0.006] and greater NWI (57.1%±20.47% vs. 40.21%± 21.56%, p = 0.009) compared to the non-hypoperfusion group. In addition, the high-risk group identified by the ABCD2 score had a higher rMTT [117.6(109.31-128.14) vs. 108.36(100.67-119.92), p = 0.037]. Conclusion: Transient ischemic attack patients with hypoperfusion exhibited a higher prevalence of hypertension and hyperhomocysteinemia, as well as higher luminal stenosis degree, and greater NWI. Furthermore, Transient ischemic attack patients in the high-risk group demonstrated higher MTT.

Background and purpose: Patients with transient ischemic attacks (TIA) have a significant risk of developing acute ischemic strokes (AIS), emphasizing the critical need for hierarchical management. This study aims to develop a clinical-imaging model utilizing multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (mMRI) and the revised Framingham Stroke Risk Profile (FSRP) to predict AIS and achieve early secondary prevention. Methods: mMRI scans were conducted on patients with symptomatic intracranial atherosclerotic disease (ICAD) to assess vascular wall features and cerebral perfusion parameters. Based on diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), patients were divided into two groups: TIA and AIS. Clinical data were evaluated to calculate the FSRP score. Differences in clinical and imaging characteristics between the groups were analyzed, and a predictive model for AIS probability in patients with ICAD was established. Results: A total of 112 TIA and AIS patients were included in the study. The results showed that the AIS group had higher proportions of FSRP-high risk, hyperhomocysteinemia, and higher value of low-density lipoprotein (LDL), standardized plaque index (SQI), and enhancement rate (ER) compared to the TIA group (p < 0.05). Mean transit time (MTT) and time to peak (TTP) in the lesion area were significantly longer in the AIS group (p < 0.05). Multivariate analysis identified FSRP-high risk (p = 0.027) and high ER (p = 0.046) as independent risk factors for AIS. The combined clinical and mMRI model produced an area under the curve (AUC) of 0.791 in receiver operating characteristic (ROC) analysis. The constructed nomogram model combining clinical and mMRI features demonstrated favorable clinical net benefits. Conclusion: FSRP-high risk and high ER were confirmed as independent risk factors for AIS. The combined prediction model utilizing clinical and imaging markers effectively predicts stroke risk in symptomatic ICAD patients.

3,4-Difluorothiophene-substituted aryls, i.e., 1,4-bis(3,4-difluorothiophen-2-yl)-benzene (Ph-2FTh), 1,4-bis(3,4-difluorothiophen-2-yl)-2,5-difluorobenzene (2FPh-2FTh), and 4,7-bis(3,4-difluorothiophen-2-yl)-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole (BTz-2FTh), are synthesized as C─H monomers for the synthesis of conjugated polymers (CPs) via direct arylation polycondensation (DArP) with diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and isoindigo (IID) derivatives as C─Br monomers. The Gibbs free energies of activation for direct arylation (ΔG298 K , kcal mol-1 ) for α─C─H bonds of thiophene moieties as calculated by density functional theory (DFT) are 14.3, 16.5, and 16.4 kcal mol-1 for Ph-2FTh, 2FPh-2FTh and BTz-2FTh, respectively, meaning that inserting an electron-deficient unit in 3,3',4,4'-tetrafluoro-2,2'-bithiophene (4FBT, ΔG298K : 14.6 kcal mol-1 ) may cause a reactivity decrease of the C─H monomers. Photophysical and semiconducting properties of the resulting six CPs (i.e., DPP-Ph, DPP-2FPh, DPP-BTz, 2FIID-Ph, 2FIID-2FPh, and 2FIID-BTz) are characterized in detail. DPP-based CPs show ambipolar transport properties while IID-based ones exhibited n-type behavior owing to the deeper frontier molecular orbital energy levels of IID-based CPs. With source/drain electrodes modified with polyethylenimine ethoxylated, n-channel organic thin-film transistors with maximum electron mobility of 0.40, 0.54, 0.29, 0.05, 0.16, and 0.01 cm2 V-1 s-1 for DPP-Ph, DPP-2FPh, DPP-BTz, 2FIID-Ph, 2FIID-2FPh, and 2FIID-BTz, respectively, are fabricated. DPP-2FPh exhibits the best device performance due to the good film morphology and the highest intermolecular packing order.

Background: Survivors of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at-risk of developing cognitive impairment and neurobehavioral symptoms. Inflammation induced by a compromised health status during cancer survivorship is proposed as a pathophysiological mechanism underlying cognitive impairment in cancer survivors. Objectives: To evaluate the associations of biomarkers of inflammation with attention and neurobehavioral outcomes in survivors of childhood ALL, and to identify clinical factors associated with biomarkers of inflammation in this cohort. Methods: We recruited patients who were diagnosed with ALL at ≤ 18 years old and were currently ≥5 years post-cancer diagnosis. The study outcomes were attention (Conners Continuous Performance Test) and self-reported behavioral symptoms (Adult Self-Report [ASR] checklist). Using a commercial screening kit, survivors' plasma (5ml) was assayed for 17 cytokines/chemokine cell-signaling molecules that are associated with neurodegenerative diseases. The final panel of the targeted markers included interleukin (IL)-8, IL-13, interferon-gamma (IFN-γ), monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1), macrophage inflammatory protein-1ß, and tumor necrosis factor-α. Biomarker levels were rank-ordered into tertiles based on the sample distribution. Multivariable general linear modeling was used to test for associations between biomarkers and study outcomes in the overall cohort and stratified by gender. Results: This study included 102 survivors (55.9% males, mean[SD] age 26.2[5.9] years; 19.3[7.1] years post-diagnosis). Survivors within top tertiles of IFN-γ (Estimate =6.74, SE=2.26; P=0.0037) and IL-13 (Estimate =5.10, SE=2.27; P=0.027) demonstrated more inattentiveness. Adjusting for age, gender and treatment, more self-reported thought (Estimate=3.53, SE=1.78; P=0.050) and internalizing problems (Estimate =6.52, SE=2.91; P=0.027) correlated with higher IL-8. Higher levels of IL-13 (RR = 4.58, 95% CI: 1.01-11.10) and TNF-α (RR = 1.44, 95% CI: 1.03-4.07) were observed in survivors had developed chronic health conditions (n=26, 25.5%). The stratified analysis showed that association of IFN-γ with attention was stronger in male survivors than in female survivors. Conclusion: Inflammation due to cancer-related late effects may potentially be mechanistic mediators of neurobehavioral problems in pediatric ALL survivors. Markers of inflammation can potentially be applied to assess or monitor the effectiveness of interventions, particularly behavioral interventions, in improving cognitive outcomes in survivors. Future work includes understanding the underlying gender-specific pathophysiology behind functional outcomes in the population.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a serious threat to human health, and its underlying mechanisms remain to be further explored. Aldolase A (ALDOA) has received increasing attention for its reported association with multiple cancers, but the role and mechanisms of ALDOA in CRC are still unclear. In the current study, high expression levels and enzymatic activity of ALDOA were detected in CRC tissues and cell lines, indicating the clinical significance of ALDOA in human CRC. In addition, silencing ALDOA significantly impaired the proliferation and metastasis of CRC cells in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, immunoprecipitation assays and mass spectrometry analysis identified the binding protein COPS6 of ALDOA. Furthermore, the promoting effects of upregulated ALDOA on CRC cell proliferation and metastasis were inhibited by COPS6 depletion, demonstrating COPS6 was required for ALDOA in mediating CRC progress. Moreover, the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) program and MAPK signaling pathway were found to be activated by ALDOA overexpression as well. In summary, our findings suggested that ALDOA facilitated the proliferation and metastasis of CRC by binding and regulating COPS6, inducing EMT, and activating the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway. The present study provided evidence for ALDOA as a promising potential biomarker for CRC.

BACKGROUND: Lung adenocarcinomas (LUAD) remain the leading cause of death in many countries. In this study, we investigated the role of division cycle-associated 4 (CDCA4) in the carcinogenesis of LUADs. METHODS: Real-time fluorescent quantitative polymerase chain reaction and western blot were performed to detect the messenger RNA and protein levels of CDCA4 in cells. Cell counting kit 8, real-time cell analysis, clone formation, EdU assays, and cell-cycle assays were used to preliminarily investigate the proliferation and cell-cycle-related functions of CDCA4 in lung adenocarcinoma. Immunoprecipitation assays were used to identify possible targets of CDCA4. A xenograft model was used to examine how CDCA4 knockdown affects LUAD cells growth in vivo. RESULTS: We found that the expression of CDCA4 was upregulated in LUAD cell lines. When CDCA4 was knocked out, the ability of LUAD cells to proliferate was dramatically reduced, and the cell cycle was stalled in the S phase. Meanwhile, boosting the CDCA4 expression had the opposite effect. The critical protein levels of phosphatidylinositol 3 kinase (PI3K)/protein kinase B (AKT) signaling pathway were subsequently examined. The findings demonstrated that elevated CDCA4 lowered the phosphate and tensin homolog expression and increased the p-PI3K and p-AKT levels. Moreover, we demonstrated that CDCA4 favorably regulated IGF2BP1, a downstream target. The downregulation of the IGF2BP1 expression could reverse the proliferation promotion effect induced by the CDCA4 overexpression. CONCLUSIONS: CDCA4 can operate as an oncogenic factor to control the growth of lung adenocarcinoma via the PI3K/AKT pathway.

Integrating advanced technologies into solar-driven water evaporation is gradually considered as a clean and sustainable way to acquire freshwater from saline or wastewater. In this study, thin molybdenum sulfide nanosheet arrays (MoS2 NSAs) modified by tungsten oxide nanoparticles (WO3) were designed. The as-prepared solar absorber could purify water and accomplish photocatalytic degradation of dyes that existed in bulk water via solar-driven water evaporation. Compared with bare MoS2 NSAs, the modification of WO3 enhanced the separation of electrons and holes within the solar absorber, resulting in the improvement of photocatalytic efficiency. The net evaporation rate of the solar absorber reached 0.97 kg m-2h-1 and the degradation rate constant of rhodamine B (RhB) reached 0.101 min-1 under 1 sun. This study successfully combined photothermal conversion and photocatalytic technologies and provided a new method for the treatment of dye wastewater with zero wastewater discharge.

This research aimed to analyze lifestyle-related factors which influence Helicobacter pylori (Hp) infection and outcomes in Chinese adults. A single-center, retrospective study was performed from January 2012 to December 2020. Self-administered questionnaires were used to collect relevant lifestyle information, and the 13C-urea breath test was used to diagnose active Hp infection. A total of 18,211 subjects were enrolled in the study, of which 5,511 were females (30.26%). Subjects were studied longitudinally for up to five follow-up visits. At baseline, gastric Hp test was negative in 10,670 subjects (58.59%) and positive in 7,541 subjects (41.41%). Males exhibited a significantly higher Hp infection rate than females (38.56% vs 2.65%, respectively; χ 2 = 26.45, P < 0.001). Throughout the course of follow-up, Hp positive rates in the subjects decreased ( χ trend 2 = 666.04, P < 0.001). Among the subjects with baseline negative results, 3-6% changed from negative to positive during follow-up. In contrast, among those with baseline positive results, >70% remained positive, and 21-26% changed from positive to negative. However, only 22-27% of Hp-infected subjects received pharmacotherapy. The results indicate the prevalence of Hp infection is high in the Chinese population. That additional effort is required to prevent and control Hp infection.

This study aimed to analyze the role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data characteristics based on the deep learning algorithm in evaluating the treatment of diabetic foot (DF) with composite skin graft. In this study, 78 patients with DF were randomly rolled into the experimental group (composite skin graft) and control group (autologous skin graft) with 39 patients in each group. MRI scans were performed before and after treatment to compare the changes of experimental observation indicators such as healing time, recurrence rate, and scar score. The results showed that T1-weighted imaging (T1WI) of the scanning sequence was considerably increased in the experimental group after treatment. The signal intensity of fat-suppressed T2-weighted imaging (T2WI) and fat-suppressed T1WI enhancement sequences was considerably decreased (P < 0.05). In addition, compared with the control group, the recurrence rate, healing time, and scar score in the experimental group were considerably decreased (P < 0.05). The accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity of MRI imaging information in evaluating the therapeutic effect of DF patients were 85.2%, 89.75%, and 86.47%, respectively. According to the specificity and sensitivity, the subject operating characteristic curve was drawn, and the area under the curve was determined to be 0.838. In summary, MRI image data characteristics based on the deep learning algorithm can provide auxiliary reference information for the efficacy evaluation of compound skin transplantation for DF.

Heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A/B (hnRNPA/B) is one of the core members of the RNA binding protein (RBP) hnRNPs family, including four main subtypes, A0, A1, A2/B1 and A3, which share the similar structure and functions. With the advance in understanding the molecular biology of hnRNPA/B, it has been gradually revealed that hnRNPA/B plays a critical role in almost the entire steps of RNA life cycle and its aberrant expression and mutation have important effects on the occurrence and progression of various cancers. This review focuses on the clinical significance of hnRNPA/B in various cancers and systematically summarizes its biological function and molecular mechanisms.

Background: The National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) guidelines did not give an explicit comparison of the efficacy between surgery and radiotherapy in treating Stage-III N2 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients, leaving a paucity for clinical reference. Through this study, we try to locate the optimum treatment strategy including surgical type for these patients. Methods: A systematic literature search was performed from PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, and Google Scholars. The endpoints were overall survival (OS), mean OS, and progression-free survival (PFS). The treatments comprised radiotherapy, lobectomy, and pneumonectomy. Network meta-analysis was carried out for calculating the odds ratio (OR) for binary variants. All the analyses implemented Stata 17.0 MP. Results: Eight clinical trials reporting 1756 patients met the inclusion criteria. Radiotherapy and surgery were equivalent in improving patients' OS (OR = 0.842, 95% confidence interval [CI]: [0.645, 1.099]). The mean OS of patients were similar in terms of radiotherapy, lobectomy, and pneumonectomy. Besides, radiotherapy and surgery had equivalent effects in improving PFS (OR = 0.896, 95% CI: [0.718, 1.117]). Conclusions: Since lobectomy and pneumonectomy following neoadjuvant treatments had equivalent efficacy in prolonging OS for patients with stage-IIIA N2 NSCLC compared with definitive radiotherapy, young patients with favorable performance status (0) should try surgery to pursue better prognosis while elderly patients with unfavorable PS or radiosensitive pathology types should accept definitive radiotherapy. More high-quality clinical trials are needed to support our findings.

Both 3-hydroxy-2-butanone and triethylamine are highly toxic and harmful to human health, and their chronic inhalation can cause respiratory diseases, eye lesions, dermatitis, headache, dizziness, drowsiness, and even fatality. Developing sensors for detecting such toxic gases with low power consumption, high response with superselectivity, and stability is crucial for healthcare and environmental monitoring. This study presents a typical gas sensor fabricated based on AuPdO modified Cu-doped K2W4O13 nanowires, which can selectively detect 3-hydroxy-2-butanone and triethylamine at 120 and 200 °C, respectively. The sensor displays excellent sensing performance at reduced operating temperature, high selectivity, fast response/recovery, and stability, which can be attributed to a synergistic effect of Cu dopants and AuPdO nanoparticles on the K2W4O13 host. The enhanced sensing response and selectivity could be attributed to the oxygen vacancies/defects, bandgap excitation, the electronic sensitization, the reversible redox reaction of PdO and Cu, the cocatalytic activity of AuPdO, and Schottky barrier contacts at the interface of tungsten oxide and Au. The significant variations in the activation capacities of Cu-doped K2W4O13, Pd/PdO, and Au nanoparticles toward 3H-2B and TEA, and the diffusion depth of the two gases in the coated sensing layer may cause dual selectivity. The designed gas sensor materials can serve as a sensitive target for detecting toxic biomarkers and hold broad application prospects in food and environmental safety inspection.

Recent years have witnessed a rapid development of carbon dots (CDs), due to their outstanding luminescence properties and excellent biocompatibility. However, the internal structure and photoluminescent (PL) mechanism of CDs are still the subject of considerable debate, which is due to the fact that reaction products usually contain mixtures of several CD fractions as well as molecular intermediate and side products. Therefore, careful purification of the CDs is significant for analysis of structure and luminescence mechanism. Here, multicolor emission CDs were prepared by a one-pot pyrolysis of citric acid in formamide. Then, the precipitation method, dialysis and gel permeation chromatography (GPC) are successively employed to purify the multicolor emission CDs. This post-treatment allowed us to compare the optical properties of CDs obtained by different separation methods and provide a valuable guidance for the purification of CDs.

BACKGROUND: Cell division cycle associated 4 (CDCA4) has been reported to be engaged into the progression of several cancers. The function of CDCA4 in Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) was unknown. We aimed to explore the critical role of CDCA4 in NSCLC. METHODS: CDCA4 stably knocking down and overexpression cell lines were established and Western blotting assay was applied to measure relevant protein expression of Epithelial-Mesenchymal Transtion (EMT) and cell autophagy. Staining of acidic vacuoles, transmission electron microscopy and immunofluorescence staining were employed to detect autophagy. The ability of cells to migrate and invade were detected by Transwell migration and invasion assays. The interaction of CDCA4 with CARM1 was identified by immunoprecipitation and Western blotting analysis. RESULTS: In the present study, it was found that inhibition of CDCA4 induced EMT, migration and invasion of NSCLC cells while inhibiting autophagy of NSCLC cells. Meanwhile, overexpression of CDCA4 in NSCLC cells showed the opposite function. More importantly, the inhibition of autophagy could promote the EMT, migration and invasion of NSCLC cells, which should be impaired via the activation of autophagy. In addition, CDCA4-inhibited EMT, migration and invasion could be partially aggravated by autophagy activator, rapamycin, and reversed by autophagy inhibitor, 3-MA. Correspondingly, the application of rapamycin or 3-MA to CDCA4 knockdown cells showed the opposite effects. Further investigation suggested that CDCA4 could interact with coactivator associated arginine methyltransferase 1 (CARM1). Autophagy was induced while cell migration and invasion were inhibited in CARM1 knockdown cells. CDCA4 could suppress the protein expression CARM1 and knocking down of CARM1 could alter cell autophagy, migratory and invasive abilities regulated by CDCA4. CONCLUSION: All data indicated that CDCA4 inhibited the EMT, migration and invasion of NSCLC via interacting with CARM1 to modulate autophagy.

Direct arylation of 2,7-dibromofluorene with n-octyl, 6-diethoxylphosphorylhexyl, 6-(N,N-diethylamino)hexyl or 6-bromohexyl side chains and 1,2,4,5-tetrafluorobenzene (TFB) were conducted to investigate the effect of side chain functional groups on the coupling, and the resulting TFB-substituted fluorene derivatives were used as C-H monomers for the synthesis of water/alcohol soluble conjugated polymers (WSCPs) by direct arylation polycondensation (DArP). The direct arylation and DArP of the monomers carrying phosphonate and amino groups went on smoothly in typical DArP conditions, that is, Pd(OAc)2/PtBu2Me-HBF4/base/DMAc and Pd2(dba)3·CHCl3/P(o-MeOPh)3/pivalic acid/base/THF, and high molecular weight polymers with these groups were successfully synthesized. However, for fluorene-monomers with bromohexyl side chains, the target products could not be obtained from the above conditions but could be prepared in the absence of carboxylic acid additives in low polar solvents. With the above DArP-made polymers as cathode interfacial layers, high performance organic solar cells (OSCs) were successfully fabricated.

AIM AND OBJECTIVE: Lupus nephritis (LN) is one of the major complications of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The specific mechanisms of pathogenesis, aggravation, and remission processes in LN have not been clarified but is of great need in the clinic. Using isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation (iTRAQ) technology to screen the functional proteins of LN in mice. Especially under intervention factors of lipopolysaccharide (LPS) and dexamethasone. METHODS: Mrl-lps mice were intervened with LPS, dexamethasone, and normal saline (NS) using intraperitoneal injection, and c57 mice intervened with NS as control. The anti-ANA antibody enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to verify disease severity. Kidney tissue is collected and processed for iTRAQ to screen out functional proteins closely related to the onset and development of LN. Western blot method and rt-PCR (real-time Polymerase Chain Reaction) were used for verification. RESULTS: We identified 136 proteins that marked quantitative information. Among them, Hp, Igkv8-27, Itgb2, Got2, and Pcx proteins showed significant abnormal manifestations. CONCLUSION: Using iTRAQ methods, the functional proteins Hp, Igkv8-27, Itgb2, Got2, and Pcx were screened out for a close relationship with the pathogenesis and development of LN, which is worth further study.
