RESUMEN

In recent years, energy storage and conversion tools have evolved significantly in response to rising energy demands. Owing to their large surface area, superior electric and chemical stabilities, and thermal conductivities, barium copper phosphate (BaCuPO4) materials are promising electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage systems. In this study, the synthesis of nanostructures (NSs) using hydrothermal and chemical precipitation methods and exploring the electrochemical characteristics of BaCuPO4 in asymmetric supercapacitors provides a comparative investigation. Systematic characterization shows that nanomaterials prepared by applying the hydrothermal method have a more crystalline and large surface area than chemical precipitation. In the three cell arrangements, the hydrothermally prepared BaCuPO4 NSs delivered a high specific capacity (764.4 C g-1) compared to the chemical precipitation route (660 C g-1). Additionally, the supercapattery associated with the two electrode assemblages delivers an optimum specific capacity of 77 C g-1. The energy and power density of BaCuPO4//AC NSs were 52.13 W h kg-1 and 950 W kg-1, respectively. A durability test was also performed with BaCuPO4//AC NSs for 5000 consecutive cycles. Further, the coulombic efficiency and capacity retention of BaCuPO4//AC after 5000 cycles were 81% and 92%, respectively. Bimetallic phosphate is comparatively suggested for future perspectives towards HER to overcome the performance of single metal phosphate materials. This is the first approach, we are aware of, for investigating the electrochemical behavior of BaCuPO4, and our results suggest that it may be useful as an electrode material in electrochemical systems requiring high energy and rate capabilities.

RESUMEN

A wide range of hard contaminants in wastewater is generated from different industries as byproducts of the organic compound. In this review, various metal oxide-based nanomaterials are employed for the photocatalytic removal of malachite green (MG) dye from wastewater. Some cost-effective and appropriate testing conditions are used for degrading these hard dyes to get higher removal efficiency. The effects of specific parameters are considered such as how the catalyst is made, how much dye is in the solution at first, how much nanocatalyst is needed to break down the dye, the initial pH of the dye solution, the type of light source used, the year of publications, and how long the dye has to be exposed to light to be removed. This study suggests that Scopus-based core collected data employ bibliometric methods to provide an objective analysis of global MG dye from 2011 to 2022 (12 years). The Scopus database collects all the information (articles, authors, keywords, and publications). For bibliometric analysis, 658 publications are retrieved corresponding to MG dye photodegradation, and the number of publications increases annually. A bibliometric study reveals a state-of-art review of metal oxide-based nanomaterials' effects on photocatalytic degradation of MG dyes (12 years).

RESUMEN

In this research, hydrothermally synthesized tungsten trioxide (WO3) nanocomposites doped polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and chitosan (CS) were studied. Various concentrations (3, 6, and 9 wt%) of PVP were doped into a fixed amount of binary system (CS-WO3) nanocomposites. PVP/CS polymers showed attractive attention because of their different structure, functionality, and architecture control as dopant to WO3. The PVP/CS encapsulates the WO3 (ternary composite), which controls crystallite size (band gap reduction), rapidly overcomes the recombination electron-hole pairs issues, and generates the active sites, resulting in improved catalytic and antimicrobial activity. The synthesized nanocomposites revealed significant catalytic efficiency and methylene blue (MB) dye depletion of 99.9 % in the presence of reducing agent (NaBH4) in neutral and acidic media. Antimicrobial effectiveness of produced nanostructures towards Escherichia coli (E. coli) pathogen at low and high concentrations were investigated by Vernier caliper in mm. Furthermore, to their microbicidal action, docking experiments of CS-doped WO3 and PVP/CS-doped WO3 nanostructures for DHFR and FabI of Escherichia coli suggested blockage of aforesaid enzymes as the plausible pathway.
