BACKGROUND: Populations of the plant pathogenic fungus Verticillium dahliae display a complex and rich genetic diversity, yet the existence of sexual reproduction in the fungus remains contested. As pivotal genes, MAT genes play a crucial role in regulating cell differentiation, morphological development, and mating of compatible cells. However, the functions of the two mating type genes in V. dahliae, VdMAT1-1-1, and VdMAT1-2-1, remain poorly understood. RESULTS: In this study, we confirmed that the MAT loci in V. dahliae are highly conserved, including both VdMAT1-1-1 and VdMAT1-2-1 which share high collinearity. The conserved core transcription factor encoded by the two MAT loci may facilitate the regulation of pheromone precursor and pheromone receptor genes by directly binding to their promoter regions. Additionally, peptide activity assays demonstrated that the signal peptide of the pheromone VdPpg1 possessed secretory activity, while VdPpg2, lacked a predicted signal peptide. Chemotactic growth assays revealed that V. dahliae senses and grows towards the pheromones FO-a and FO-α of Fusarium oxysporum, as well as towards VdPpg2 of V. dahliae, but not in response to VdPpg1. The findings herein also revealed that VdMAT1-1-1 and VdMAT1-2-1 regulate vegetative growth, carbon source utilization, and resistance to stressors in V. dahliae, while negatively regulating virulence. CONCLUSIONS: These findings underscore the potential roles of VdMAT1-1-1 and VdMAT1-2-1 in sexual reproduction and confirm their involvement in various asexual processes of V. dahliae, offering novel insights into the functions of mating type genes in this species.

Photocatalytic water splitting for clean hydrogen production has been a very attractive research field for decades. However, the insightful understanding of the actual active sites and their impact on catalytic performance is still ambiguous. Herein, a Pr-doped TiO2-supported Cu single atom (SA) photocatalyst is successfully synthesized (noted as Cu/Pr-TiO2). It is found that Pr dopants passivate the formation of oxygen vacancies, promoting the density of photogenerated electrons on the CuSAs, and optimizing the electronic structure and H* adsorption behavior on the CuSA active sites. The photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate of the obtained Cu/Pr-TiO2 catalyst reaches 32.88 mmol g-1 h-1, 2.3 times higher than the Cu/TiO2. Innovatively, the excellent catalytic activity and performance is attributed to the active sites change from O atoms to CuSAs after Pr doping is found. This work provides new insight for understanding the accurate roles of single atoms in photocatalytic water splitting.

Pentavalent uranium compounds are key components of uranium's redox chemistry and play important roles in environmental transport. Despite this, well-characterized U(V) compounds are scarce primarily because of their instability with respect to disproportionation to U(IV) and U(VI). In this work, we provide an alternate route to incorporation of U(V) into a crystalline lattice where different oxidation states of uranium can be stabilized through the incorporation of secondary cations with different sizes and charges. We show that iriginite-based crystalline layers allow for systematically replacing U(VI) with U(V) through aliovalent substitution of 2+ alkaline-earth or 3+ rare-earth cations as dopant ions under high-temperature conditions, specifically Ca(UVIO2)W4O14 and Ln(UVO2)W4O14 (Ln = Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Yb). Evidence for the existence of U(V) and U(VI) is supported by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, high energy resolution X-ray absorption near edge structure, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and optical absorption spectroscopy. In contrast with other reported U(V) materials, the U(V) single crystals obtained using this route are relatively large (several centimeters) and easily reproducible, and thus provide a substantial improvement in the facile synthesis and stabilization of U(V).

The dearomatization at the hydrophobic tail of the boscalid was carried out to construct a series of novel pyrazole-4-carboxamide derivatives containing an oxime ether fragment. By using fungicide-likeness analyses and virtual screening, 24 target compounds with theoretical strong inhibitory effects against fungal succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) were designed and synthesized. Antifungal bioassays showed that the target compound E1 could selectively inhibit the in vitro growth of R. solani, with the EC50 value of 1.1 µg/mL that was superior to that of the agricultural fungicide boscalid (2.2 µg/mL). The observations by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) demonstrated that E1 could reduce mycelial density and significantly increase the mitochondrial number in mycelia cytoplasm, which was similar to the phenomenon treated with boscalid. Enzyme activity assay showed that the E1 had the significant inhibitory effect against the SDH from R. solani, with the IC50 value of 3.3 µM that was superior to that of boscalid (7.9 µM). The mode of action of the target compound E1 with SDH was further analyzed by molecular docking and molecular dynamics simulation studies. Among them, the number of hydrogen bonds was significantly more in the SDH-E1 complex than that in the SDH-boscalid complex. This research on the dearomatization strategy of the benzene ring for constructing pyrazole-4-carboxamides containing an oxime ether fragment provides a unique thought to design new antifungal drugs targeting SDH.

In conventional chromatographic ligand screening, underperforming ligands are often dismissed. However, this practice may inadvertently overlook potential opportunities. This study aims to investigate whether these underperforming ligands can be repurposed as valuable assets. Hydrophobic charge-induction chromatography (HCIC) is chosen as the validation target for its potential as an innovative chromatographic mode. A novel dual-ligand approach is employed, combining two suboptimal ligands (5-Aminobenzimidazole and Tryptamine) to explore enhanced performance and optimization prospects. Various dual-ligand HCIC resins with different ligand densities were synthesized by adjusting the ligand ratio and concentration. The resins were characterized to assess appearance, functional groups, and pore features using SEM, FTIR, and ISEC techniques. Performance assessments were conducted using single-ligand mode resins as controls, evaluating the selectivity against human immunoglobulin G and human serum albumin. Static adsorption experiments were performed to understand pH and salt influence on adsorption. Breakthrough experiments were conducted to assess dynamic adsorption capacity of the novel resin. Finally, chromatographic separation using human serum was performed to evaluate the purity and yield of the resin. Results indicated that the dual-ligand HCIC resin designed for human antibodies demonstrates exceptional selectivity, surpassing not only single ligand states but also outperforming certain high-performing ligand types, particularly under specific salt and pH conditions. Ultimately, a high yield of 83.9 % and purity of 96.7 % were achieved in the separation of hIgG from human serum with the dual-ligand HCIC, significantly superior to the single-ligand resins. In conclusion, through rational design and proper operational conditions, the dual-ligand mode can revitalize underutilized ligands, potentially introducing novel and promising chromatographic modes.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), one of the leading causes of cancer­related mortality worldwide, is challenging to identify in its early stages and prone to metastasis, and the prognosis of patients with this disease is poor. Treatment options for HCC are limited, with even radical treatments being associated with a risk of recurrence or transformation in the short term. Furthermore, the multi­tyrosine kinase inhibitors approved for first­line therapy have marked drawbacks, including drug resistance and side effects. The rise and breakthrough of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have provided a novel direction for HCC immunotherapy but these have the drawback of low response rates. Since avoiding apoptosis is a universal feature of cancer, the induction of non­apoptotic regulatory cell death (NARCD) is a novel strategy for HCC immunotherapy. At present, NARCD pathways, including ferroptosis, pyroptosis and necroptosis, are novel potential forms of immunogenic cell death, which have synergistic effects with antitumor immunity, transforming immune 'cold' tumors into immune 'hot' tumors and exerting antitumor effects. Therefore, these pathways may be targeted as a novel treatment strategy for HCC. In the present review, the roles of ferroptosis, pyroptosis and necroptosis in antitumor immunity in HCC are discussed, and the relevant targets and signaling pathways, and the current status of combined therapy with ICIs are summarized. The prospects of targeting ferroptosis, pyroptosis and necroptosis in HCC immunotherapy are also considered.

BACKGROUND: To effectively address severe deformities at the fracture site in patients, meticulous preoperative preparation is essential. This involves ensuring the restoration of the normal structural force line of the affected area and prevention of any residual deformities. By utilizing E3D technology prior to surgery, creating models based on individual patient image data and performing osteotomy, the required surgical parameters can be measured, thereby reducing surgical risks and enhancing precision. CASE PRESENTATION: This article documents a case involving a fractured femoral shaft resulting in femoral deformation. In this case, computer-aided design technology was employed for preoperative planning and data measurement to guide the corrective osteotomy and fracture fixation procedures. CONCLUSION: The E3D software utilizes advanced techniques such as customized osteotomy, virtual reduction and internal fixation insertion technology. This enables the software to accurately pre-select the correction of femoral deformities and determine the appropriate specifications and types of internal implants. As a result, the software can create precise, rational, and personalized repair plans tailored to each patient's needs.

OBJECTIVE: To assess electrocardiogram (ECG) for risk stratification in inferior ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients within 24 h. METHODS: Three hundred thirty-four patients were divided into four ECG-based groups: Group A: R V1 <0.3 mV with ST-segment elevation (ST↑) V7-V9, Group B: R V1 <0.3 mV without ST↑ V7-V9, Group C: R V1 ≥0.3 mV with ST↑ V7-V9, and Group D: R V1 ≥0.3 mV without ST↑ V7-V9. RESULTS: Group A demonstrated the longest QRS duration, followed by Groups B, C, and D. ECG signs for right ventricle (RV) infarction were more common in Groups A and B (p < .01). ST elevation in V6, indicative of left ventricle (LV) lateral injury, was more higher in Group C than in Group A, while the ∑ST↑ V3R + V4R + V5R, representing RV infarction, showed the opposite trend (p < .05). The estimated LV infarct size from ECG was similar between Groups A and C, yet Group A had higher creatine kinase MB isoform (CK-MB; p < .05). Cardiac troponin I (cTNI) was higher in Groups A and C than in B and D (p < .05 and p = .16, respectively). NT-proBNP decreased across groups (p = .20), with the highest left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) observed in Group D (p < .05). Group A notably demonstrated more cardiac dysfunction within 4 h post-onset. CONCLUSIONS: For inferior STEMI patients, concurrent R V1 <0.3 mV with ST↑ V7-V9 suggests prolonged ventricular activation and notable myocardial damage. RV infarction's dominance over LV lateral injury might explain these observations.

OBJECTIVE: This meta-review aimed to investigate the prevalence of low back pain (LBP) in professional drivers. STUDY DESIGN: This study is a meta-analysis. METHODS: PubMed, Scopus, Embase, and Web of Science were searched for cross-sectional studies on the prevalence of LBP in professional drivers up to August 2023. The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality was utilized for cross-sectional analytical studies. Statistical analysis of the included outcome indicators was conducted using Stata 16.0. The prevalence of LBP among professional drivers was measured using the random effects model, and heterogeneity was evaluated utilizing subgroup analysis. This meta-analysis review was registered with PROSPERO on April 28, 2023, under the registration number CRD42023422205. RESULTS: In total, 1, 558 results met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and 53 studies were included. The meta-analysis results indicated that professional drivers had a LBP prevalence of 35.0%, 95%CI (0.266, 0.433) for one week, 33.80%, 95%CI (0.233, 0.443) for one month, and 55.30%, 95%CI (0.503,0.603) for one year. In the global population of professional drivers, the prevalence of LBP was 56.0%, 95%CI (0.472, 0.648) and 54.5%, 95%CI (0.488, 0.602) without and with a history and high risk of LBP, respectively. CONCLUSIONS: LBP remains prevalent among international drivers and has multiple contributing factors, highlighting the urgent need for increased awareness and prevention strategies.

The harmful gas in the sealed fire area of a small coal mine rushes into the mining face of the lower coal seam, which restricts the efficient promotion of the working face. In this paper, based on the evolution law of caving coal rock dilatation coefficient, the characteristics of the heterogeneous distribution of permeability and voidage in goaf were obtained, and the mathematical model of gas migration in goaf is constructed. The numerical solution of gas migration in goaf under the sealed fire area of a small coal mine was realized by using the Free and Porous Media Flow module and the Transport of Dilute Matter in Porous Media module in COMSOL Multiphysics, and the corresponding measure was proposed. The results show that the fresh air flows into the goaf from both the inlet air roadway and the working face and then flows out from the upper corner. Driven by the air flow, the CO in the overlying sealed fire area of a small coal mine flows out from the upper corner of the working face, resulting in the CO overlimit. Due to the influence of air leakage and the CO overlimit in the working face, low oxygen occurs in the working face. According to the characteristics of gas emission, balanced pressure ventilation technology is proposed to control the low oxygen in the working face and the CO overlimit in the upper corner. It is found that the balanced pressure ventilation obviously increases the pressure of the working face, reduces the pressure difference between the two ends of the working face by 45.7-26.7%, and decreases the air leakage to the goaf in the upper corner of the inlet air roadway. The field application shows that the problems of low oxygen in the working face and a CO overlimit in the upper corner are effectively solved.

BACKGROUND: There are numerous complex barriers and facilitators to continuously wearing hearing protection devices (HPDs) for noise-exposed workers. Therefore, the present study aimed to investigate the relationship between HPD wearing behavior and hearing protection knowledge and attitude, HPD wearing comfort, and work-related factors. METHOD: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 524 noise-exposed workers in manufacturing enterprises in Guangdong Province, China. Data were collected on hearing protection knowledge and attitudes, HPD wearing comfort and behavior, and work-related factors through a questionnaire. Using structural equation modeling (SEM), we tested the association among the study variables. RESULTS: Among the total workers, 69.47% wore HPD continuously, and the attitudes of hearing protection (26.17 ± 2.958) and total HPD wearing comfort (60.13 ± 8.924) were satisfactory, while hearing protection knowledge (3.54 ± 1.552) was not enough. SEM revealed that hearing protection knowledge had direct effects on attitudes (ß = 0.333, p < 0.01) and HPD wearing behavior (ß = 0.239, p < 0.01), and the direct effect of total HPD wearing comfort on behavior was ß = 0.157 (p < 0.01). The direct effect also existed between work shifts and behavior (ß=-0.107, p < 0.05). Indirect relationships mainly existed between other work-related factors, hearing protection attitudes, and HPD wearing behavior through knowledge. Meanwhile, work operation had a direct and negative effect on attitudes (ß=-0.146, p < 0.05), and it can also indirectly and positively affect attitudes through knowledge (ß = 0.08, p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: The behavior of wearing HPD was influenced by hearing protection knowledge, comfort in wearing HPD, and work-related factors. The results showed that to improve the compliance of noise-exposed workers wearing HPD continuously when exposed to noise, the HPD wearing comfort and work-related factors must be taken into consideration. In addition, we evaluated HPD wearing comfort in physical and functional dimensions, and this study initially verified the availability of the questionnaire scale of HPD wearing comfort.

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) have been previously researched in ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Nevertheless, there are few studies of lncRNAs and mRNAs associated with the pathogenesis of AS. Differentially expressed lncRNAs (DElncRNAs) and mRNAs (DEmRNAs) between AS and normal samples were assessed using the R limma package. DOSE packages and 'clusterProfiler' were exploited for gene enrichment analysis. The functional association of proteins and protein interactions was assessed using the STRING database. To investigate the important genes and subnetworks in the protein-protein interaction network, the MCODE plug-in in the Cytoscape software was utilized. The gene mRNA was examined via reverse transcription-quantitative PCR. In total, 152 DEmRNAs and 204 DElncRNAs were observed between normal and AS samples. A total of 68 candidate genes related to DElncRNA were identified. These candidate genes were enriched in 30 cellular component terms, 22 molecular functions, 83 biological processes, 9 Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes, and 36 disease ontology pathways. NONHSAG037054.2 was the most related lncRNA to genes, and GABPA was the most connected gene to lncRNA in AS. The NCBI/GenBank accession number of the lncRNA NONHSAG037054.2 was not found because it is not included in NCBI. The information of lncRNA NONHSAG037054.2 can be found at the website (http://www.noncode.org/show_gene.php?id=NONHSAG037054 and https://www.genecards.org/cgi-bin/carddisp.pl?gene=ACAP2-IT1). In total, 13 microRNAs (miRNAs) and 46 miRNAs associated with NONHSAG037054.2 and GABPA, respectively, were found. A total of 173 RNA-binding protein genes were associated with both NONHSAG037054.2 and GABPA. In addition, GABPA was downregulated in AS samples, suggesting it may have diagnostic value in AS. In conclusion, NONHSAG037054.2 and GABPA are associated with AS. GABPA was downregulated in AS, and it could serve as a novel diagnostic factor for AS.

Zanthoxylum ailanthoides is a deciduous tree, with important medicinal and economic values. The complete chloroplast genome sequence of Z. ailanthoides was assembled and the phylogenetic relationship to other species was inferred in this study. The chloroplast genome is 157,209 bp in length, including two inverted repeats of 26,408 bp, a large single-copy of 86,099 bp and a small single copy of 18,294 bp. Moreover, the chloroplast genome contains 129 genes, including 84 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. The overall GC content of the chloroplast genome is 38.4%. The phylogenetic analysis indicated that Z. ailanthoides was grouped with a clade containing the species of Z. multijugum, Z. calcicola, Z. oxyphyllum, Z. stenophyllum, and the genus was closely related to Phellodendron. This study contributes to a better understanding of the phylogenetic relationships among Zanthoxylum species.

Introduction Focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is a common glomerulopathy with unclear mechanism. The demand for FSGS clinical diagnostic biomarkers has not yet been met. Circular RNA (circRNA) is a novel non-coding RNA with multiple functions, but its diagnostic value for FSGS remains unexplored. This study aimed to identify circRNAs that could aid in early clinical diagnosis and to investigate their mechanisms in podocyte injury. Methods The signature of plasma circRNAs for FSGS was identified by circRNA microarray. The existence of circRNAs was confirmed by qRT-PCR, RNase R assay, and DNA sequencing. Plasma levels of circRNAs were evaluated by qRT-PCR. The diagnostic value was appraised by receiver operating characteristic curve. The circRNA-miRNA-mRNA network was built with Cytoscape 7.3.2. Statistically significant differences were calculated by the Mann-Whitney U-test. Results A total of 493 circRNAs (165 upregulated, 328 downregulated) were differentially expressed in the plasma of FSGS patients (n = 3) and normal controls (n = 3). Eight candidate circRNAs were demonstrated to be circular and stable transcripts. Among them, hsa_circ_0001230 and hsa_circ_0023879 were significantly upregulated in FSGS patients (n = 29) compared to normal controls (n = 51). The areas under the curve value of hsa_circ_0001230 and hsa_circ_0023879 were 0.668 and 0.753, respectively, while that of two-circRNAs panel was 0.763. The RNA pull-down analysis revealed that hsa_circ_0001230 and hsa_circ_0023879 could sponge hsa-miR-106a. Additionally, hsa_circ_0001230 and hsa_circ_0023879 positively regulated hsa-miR-106a target genes phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and Bcl-2-like protein 11 (BCL2L11) in podocytes. Conclusion Hsa_circ_0001230 and hsa_circ_0023879 are novel blood biomarkers for FSGS. They may regulate podocyte apoptosis by competitively binding to hsa-miR-106a.

BACKGROUND: Mastitis, a pervasive and detrimental disease in dairy farming, poses a significant challenge to the global dairy industry. Monitoring the milk somatic cell count (SCC) is vital for assessing the incidence of mastitis and the quality of raw cow's milk. However, existing SCC detection methods typically require large-scale instruments and specialized operators, limiting their application in resource-constrained settings such as dairy farms and small-scale labs. To address these limitations, this study introduces a novel, smartphone-based, on-site SCC testing method that leverages smartphone capabilities for milk somatic cell identification and enumeration, offering a portable and user-friendly testing platform. RESULTS: The central findings of our study demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method for counting milk somatic cells. Its on-site applicability, facilitated by the microfluidic chip, optical system, and smartphone integration, heralds a paradigm shift in point-of-care testing (POCT) for dairy farms and smaller laboratories. This approach bypasses complex processing and presents a user-friendly solution for real-time SCC monitoring in resource-limited settings. This device boasts several unique features: small size, low cost (<$1,000 total manufacturing cost and <$1 per test), and high accuracy. Remarkably, it delivers test results within just 2 min. Actual-sample testing confirmed its consistency with results from the commercial Bentley FTS/FCM cytometer, affirming the reliability of the proposed method. Overall, these results underscore the potential for transformative change in dairy farm management and laboratory testing practices. SIGNIFICANCE: In summary, this study concludes that the proposed smartphone-based method significantly contributes to the accessibility and ease of SCC testing in resource-limited environments. By fostering the use of POCT technology in food safety control, particularly in the dairy industry, this innovative approach has the potential to revolutionize the monitoring and management of mastitis, ultimately benefiting the global dairy sector.

Plastic fragments are widely found in the soil profile of terrestrial ecosystems, forming plastic footprint and posing increasing threat to soil functionality and carbon (C) footprint. It is unclear how plastic footprint affects C cycling, and in particularly permanent C sequestration. Integrated field observations (including 13C labelling) were made using polyethylene and polylactic acid plastic fragments (low-, medium- and high-concentrations as intensifying footprint) landfilling in soil, to track C flow along soil-plant-atmosphere continuum (SPAC). The result indicated that increased plastic fragments substantially reduced photosynthetic C assimilation (p < 0.05), regardless of fragment degradability. Besides reducing C sink strength, relative intensity of C emission increased significantly, displaying elevated C source. Moreover, root C fixation declined significantly from 21.95 to 19.2 mg m-2, and simultaneously root length density, root weight density, specific root length and root diameter and surface area were clearly reduced. Similar trends were observed in the two types of plastic fragments (p > 0.05). Particularly, soil aggregate stability was significantly lowered as affected by plastic fragments, which accelerated the decomposition rate of newly sequestered C (p < 0.05). More importantly, net C rhizodeposition declined averagely from 39.77 to 29.41 mg m-2, which directly led to significant decline of permanent C sequestration in soil. Therefore, increasing plastic footprint considerably worsened C footprint regardless of polythene and biodegradable fragments. The findings unveiled the serious effects of plastic residues on permanent C sequestration across SPAC, implying that current C assessment methods clearly overlook plastic footprint and their global impact effects.

The Mongolian medical silver needles often encounter issues of bending, fracturing, and blunting in clinical applications. Similarly, Mongolian warm needles can cause burns on patients due to inaccurate temperature control. In this study, we developed an Ag85Cu15 alloy specifically for acupuncture needles based on material preparation. By incorporating appropriate amounts of Mn and Ti elements, we were able to enhance the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of the acupuncture needles. Compared to commercially available silver needles, this alloy exhibited a significant increase in microhardness up to 210.2 Hv0.2 and an improved tensile strength of 880.2 MPa. Furthermore, we designed a thermoelectric effect-based temperature measurement model for precise control of the warm needle's temperature, enhancing the therapeutic effectiveness of the treatment.

Electroencephalographic (EEG) source imaging (ESI) is a powerful method for studying brain functions and surgical resection of epileptic foci. However, accurately estimating the location and extent of brain sources remains challenging due to noise and background interference in EEG signals. To reconstruct extended brain sources, we propose a new ESI method called Variation Sparse Source Imaging based on Generalized Gaussian Distribution (VSSI-GGD). VSSI-GGD uses the generalized Gaussian prior as a sparse constraint on the spatial variation domain and embeds it into the Bayesian framework for source estimation. Using a variational technique, we approximate the intractable true posterior with a Gaussian density. Through convex analysis, the Bayesian inference problem is transformed entirely into a series of regularized L2p -norm ( ) optimization problems, which are efficiently solved with the ADMM algorithm. Imaging results of numerical simulations and human experimental dataset analysis reveal the superior performance of VSSI-GGD, which provides higher spatial resolution with clear boundaries compared to benchmark algorithms. VSSI-GGD can potentially serve as an effective and robust spatiotemporal EEG source imaging method. The source code of VSSI-GGD is available at https://github.com/Mashirops/VSSI-GGD.git.

Multi-view clustering (MVC) has attracted broad attention due to its capacity to exploit consistent and complementary information across views. This paper focuses on a challenging issue in MVC called the incomplete continual data problem (ICDP). Specifically, most existing algorithms assume that views are available in advance and overlook the scenarios where data observations of views are accumulated over time. Due to privacy considerations or memory limitations, previous views cannot be stored in these situations. Some works have proposed ways to handle this problem, but all of them fail to address incomplete views. Such an incomplete continual data problem (ICDP) in MVC is difficult to solve since incomplete information with continual data increases the difficulty of extracting consistent and complementary knowledge among views. We propose Fast Continual Multi-View Clustering with Incomplete Views (FCMVC-IV) to address this issue. Specifically, the method maintains a scalable consensus coefficient matrix and updates its knowledge with the incoming incomplete view rather than storing and recomputing all the data matrices. Considering that the given views are incomplete, the newly collected view might contain samples that have yet to appear; two indicator matrices and a rotation matrix are developed to match matrices with different dimensions. In addition, we design a three-step iterative algorithm to solve the resultant problem with linear complexity and proven convergence. Comprehensive experiments conducted on various datasets demonstrate the superiority of FCMVC-IV over the competing approaches.
