Background: Synoptic reporting, the documenting of clinical information in a structured manner, is known to improve patient care by reducing errors, increasing readability, interoperability, and report completeness. Despite its advantages, manually synthesizing synoptic reports from narrative reports is expensive and error prone when the number of structured fields are many. While the recent revolutionary developments in Large Language Models (LLMs) have significantly advanced natural language processing, their potential for innovations in medicine is yet to be fully evaluated. Objectives: In this study, we explore the strengths and challenges of utilizing the state-of-the-art language models in the automatic synthesis of synoptic reports. Materials and Methods: We use a corpus of 7,774 cancer related, narrative pathology reports, which have annotated reference synoptic reports from Mayo Clinic EHR. Using these annotations as a reference, we reconfigure the state-of-the-art large language models, such as LLAMA-2, to generate the synoptic reports. Our annotated reference synoptic reports contain 22 unique data elements. To evaluate the accuracy of the reports generated by the LLMs, we use several metrics including the BERT F1 Score and verify our results by manual validation. Results: We show that using fine-tuned LLAMA-2 models, we can obtain BERT Score F1 of 0.86 or higher across all data elements and BERT F1 scores of 0.94 or higher on over 50% (11 of 22) of the questions. The BERT F1 scores translate to average accuracies of 76% and as high as 81% for short clinical reports. Conclusions: We demonstrate successful automatic synoptic report generation by fine-tuning large language models.

In flowering plants, male gametogenesis is tightly regulated by numerous genes. Mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) plays a critical role in plant development and stress response, while its role in plant reproductive development is largely unclear. The present study demonstrated MAPK20 phosphorylation of ATG6 to mediate pollen development and germination in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.). MAPK20 was preferentially expressed in the stamen of tomato, and mutation of MAPK20 resulted in abnormal pollen grains and inhibited pollen viability and germination. MAPK20 interaction with ATG6 mediated the formation of autophagosomes. Liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) analysis showed that ATG6 was phosphorylated by MAPK20 at Ser-265. Mutation of ATG6 in wild-type (WT) or in MAPK20 overexpression plants resulted in malformed and inviable pollens. Meanwhile, the number of autophagosomes in mapk20 and atg6 mutants was significantly lower than that of WT plants. Our results suggest that MAPK20-mediated ATG6 phosphorylation and autophagosome formation are critical for pollen development and germination.

The potent antibacterial activity and low resistance of antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) render them potential candidates for treating multidrug-resistant bacterial infections. Herein, a minimalist design strategy was proposed employing the "golden partner" combination of arginine (R) and tryptophan (W), along with a dendritic structure to design AMPs. By extension, the α/ε-amino group and the carboxyl group of lysine (K) were utilized to link R and W, forming dendritic peptide templates αRn(εRn)KWm-NH2 and αWn(εWn)KRm-NH2, respectively. The corresponding linear peptide templates R2nKWm-NH2 and W2nKRm-NH2 were used as controls. Their physicochemical properties, activity, toxicity, and stability were compared. Among these new peptides, the dendritic peptide R2(R2)KW4 was screened as a prospective candidate owing to its preferable antibacterial properties, biocompatibility, and stability. Additionally, R2(R2)KW4 not only effectively restrained the progression of antibiotic resistance, but also demonstrated synergistic utility when combined with conventional antibiotics due to its unique membrane-disruptive mechanism. Furthermore, R2(R2)KW4 possessed low toxicity (LD50 = 109.31 mg/kg) in vivo, while efficiently clearing E. coli in pulmonary-infected mice. In conclusion, R2(R2)KW4 has the potential to become an antimicrobial regent or adjuvant, and the minimalist design strategy of dendritic peptides provides innovative and encouraging thoughts in designing AMPs.

Crucian carp (Carassius carassius) is an important aquatic economic animal, and the immune barrier function of its intestine has been a focus of research into oral vaccines and drugs. However, the histological structures of the intestinal barrier and its adjacent areas have not been clearly established, and little subcellular evidence is available to elucidate the spatial distribution of intracellular biological processes. In this study, the spatial distribution of autophagy and endosome formation in the intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) of crucian carp were analyzed. These two biological activities are closely related to intestinal homeostasis, immunity, and cell communication. Periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) and Masson's trichrome staining were employed to elucidate the distinctive histological framework of the Crucian carp's myoid cell network, which resides within the subepithelial layer and is characterized by gap junctions. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM), immunohistochemistry (IHC), and immunofluorescence (IF) were used to detect the structural and functional aspects of the IEC in different intestinal segments. TEM and immunohistochemical analyses captured the biogenesis and maturation of early and late endosomes as well as multivesicular bodies (MVBs), as well as the initiation and progression of autophagy, including macroautophagy and mitophagy. The endosome and MVBs-specific marker CD63 and autophagy-related protein LC3 were highly expressed in IECs and were correlated with autophagy and endosome biosynthesis in the apical and basal regions of individual cells, and differed between different intestinal segments. In summary, this study elucidated the ubiquity and morphological characteristics of autophagy and endosome formation across different intestinal segments of crucian carp. A unique myoid cell network beneath the intestinal epithelium in crucian carp was also identified, expanding the histological understanding of this animal's intestinal tract.

Emerging evidence indicates that alteration of gut microbiota plays an important role in chronic kidney disease (CKD)-related vascular calcification (VC). We aimed to investigate the specific gut microbiota and the underlying mechanism involved in CKD-VC. We identified an increased abundance of Prevotella copri (P. copri) in the feces of CKD rats (induced by using 5/6 nephrectomy followed by a high calcium and phosphate diet) with aortic calcification via amplicon sequencing of 16S rRNA genes. In patients with CKD, we further confirmed a positive correlation between abundance of P. copri and aortic calcification scores. Moreover, oral administration of live P. copri aggravated CKD-related VC and osteogenic differentiation of vascular smooth muscle cells in vivo, accompanied by intestinal destruction, enhanced expression of Toll-like receptor-4 (TLR4), and elevated lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels. In vitro and ex vivo experiments consistently demonstrated that P. copri-derived LPS (Pc-LPS) accelerated high phosphate-induced VC and VSMC osteogenic differentiation. Mechanistically, Pc-LPS bound to TLR4, then activated the nuclear factor κB (NF-κB) and nucleotide-binding domain, leucine-rich-containing family, pyrin domain-containing-3 (NLRP3) inflammasome signals during VC. Inhibition of NF-κB reduced NLRP3 inflammasome and attenuated Pc-LPS-induced VSMC calcification. Our study clarifies a novel role of P. copri in CKD-related VC, by the mechanisms involving increased inflammation-regulating metabolites including Pc-LPS, and activation of the NF-κB/NLRP3 signaling pathway. These findings highlight P. copri and its-derived LPS as potential therapeutic targets for VC in CKD.

The prolonged usage of atypical antipsychotic drugs (AAPD) among individuals with schizophrenia often leads to metabolic side effects such as dyslipidemia. These effects not only limit one's selection of AAPD but also significantly reduce compliance and quality of life of patients. Recent studies suggest that bilirubin plays a crucial role in maintaining lipid homeostasis and may be a potential pre-treatment biomarker for individuals with dyslipidemia. The present study included 644 schizophrenia patients from two centers. Demographic and clinical characteristics were collected at baseline and 4 weeks after admission to investigate the correlation between metabolites, episodes, usage of AAPDs, and occurrence of dyslipidemia. Besides, we explored the combined predictive value of genotypes and baseline bilirubin for dyslipidemia by employing multiple PCR targeted capture techniques to sequence two pathways: bilirubin metabolism-related genes and lipid metabolism-related genes. Our results indicated that there existed a negative correlation between the changes in bilirubin levels and triglyceride (TG) levels in patients with schizophrenia. Among three types of bilirubin, direct bilirubin in the baseline (DBIL-bl) proved to be the most effective in predicting dyslipidemia in the ROC analysis (AUC = 0.627, p < 0.001). Furthermore, the odds ratio from multinomial logistic regression analysis showed that UGT1A1*6 was a protective factor for dyslipidemia (ß = -12.868, p < 0.001). The combination of baseline DBIL and UGT1A1*6 significantly improved the performance in predicting dyslipidemia (AUC = 0.939, p < 0.001). Schizophrenia patients with UGT1A1*6 mutation and a certain level of baseline bilirubin may be more resistant to dyslipidemia and have more selections for AAPD than other patients.

PURPOSE: Malignant phyllodes tumor of the breast (MPTB) is a rare type of breast cancer, with an incidence of less than 1%. The value of adjuvant radiotherapy (RT) for MPTB has been controversial. The aim of the study was to explore the effect of radiotherapy on the long-term survival of female patients with MPTB at different ages. METHODS: Female MPTB patients were selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database between 2000 and 2020. A Kaplan-Meier survival analysis was conducted to investigate the value of RT for the long-term survival of MPTB patients in different age groups. Additionally, univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were performed for overall survival (OS) and breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS) of MPTB patients. Furthermore, propensity score matching (PSM) was also performed to balance the differences in baseline characteristics. RESULTS: 2261 MPTB patients were included in this study, including 455 patients (20.12%) with RT and 1806 patients (79.88%) without RT. These patients were divided into four cohorts based on their ages: 18-45, 46-55, 56-65, and 65-80. Before adjustment, there was a statistically significant difference in long-term survival between RT-treated and non-RT-treated patients in the younger age groups (age group of 18-45 years: OS P = 0.019, BCSS P = 0.016; age group of 46-55 years: OS P < 0.001, BCSS P < 0.001). After PSM, no difference was found in long-term survival of patients in both younger and older groups regardless of whether they received RT (age group of 18-45 years: OS P = 0.473, BCSS P = 0.750; age group of 46-55 years: OS P = 0.380, BCSS P = 0.816, age group of 56-65 years: OS P = 0.484, BCSS P = 0.290; age group of 66-80 years: OS P = 0.997, BCSS P = 0.763). In multivariate COX regression analysis, RT did not affect long-term survival in patients with MPTB. CONCLUSION: There is no evidence that long-term survival of MPTB patients in specific age groups can benefit from RT.

Noninvasive and sensitive thermometry of a single cell during the normal physiological process is crucial for analyzing fundamental cellular metabolism and applications to cancer treatment. However, current thermometers generally sense the average temperature variation for many cells, thereby failing to obtain real-time and continuous data of an individual cell. In this study, we employed platinum (Pt) electrodes to construct an integrated microfluidic chip as a single-cell thermometer. The single-cell isolation unit in the microchip consisted of a main channel, which was connected to the inlet and outlet of a single-cell capture funnel. A single cell can be trapped in the funnel and the remaining cells can bypass and flow along the main channel to the outlet. The best capture ratio of a single MCF7 cell at a single-cell isolation unit was 90 % under optimal condition. The thermometer in the micro-chip had a temperature resolution of 0.007 °C and showed a good linear relationship in the range of 20-40 °C (R2 = 0.9999). Slight temperature increment of different single tumor cell (MCF7 cell, H1975 cell, and HepG2 cell) cultured on the chip was continuously recorded under normal physiological condition. In addition, the temperature variation of single MCF7 cell in-situ after exposure to a stimulus (4 % paraformaldehyde treatment) was also monitored, showing an amplitude of temperature fluctuations gradually decreased over time. Taken together, this integrated microchip is a practical tool for detecting the change in the temperature of a single cell in real-time, thereby offering valuable information for the drug screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.

Aim: Disturbed intestinal microbiota has been implicated in the inflammatory microenvironment of the colon, which usually results in ulcerative colitis (UC). Given the limitations of these drugs, it is important to explore alternative means of protecting the gut health from UC. This study aimed to investigate the potential of polysaccharides as beneficial nutrients in the regulation of the gut microbiota, which determines the inflammatory microenvironment of the colon. Materials and methods: Mice were treated with dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) to evaluate the effects and mechanisms of Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) in remodeling the inflammatory microenvironment and improving gut health. Body weight and disease activity indices were monitored daily. Hematoxylin and eosin staining was used to analyze colon dynamics. The levels of inflammatory indicators and expression of MUC-2, claudin-1, ZO-1, and G-protein-coupled receptor 5 (TGR5) were determined using assay kits and immunohistochemistry, respectively. 16S rRNA high-throughput sequencing of the intestinal microbiota and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry for related bile acids were used. Results: LBP significantly improved the colonic tissue structure by upregulating MUC-2, claudin-1, and ZO-1 protein expression. The bacterial genus Dubosiella was dominant in healthy mice, but significantly decreased in mice treated with DSS. LBP rehabilitated Dubosiella in the sick guts of DSS mice to a level close to that of healthy mice. The levels of other beneficial bacterial genera Akkermansia and Bifidobacterium were also increased, whereas those of the harmful bacterial genera Turicibacter, Clostridium_sensu_stricto_1, Escherichia-Shigella, and Faecalibaculum decreased. The activity of beneficial bacteria promoted the bile acids lithocholic and deoxycholic acids in mice with UC, which improved the gut barrier function through the upregulation of TGR5. Conclusion: The inflammatory microenvironment in the gut is determined by the balance of the gut microbiota. LBP showed great potential as a beneficial nutrient for rehabilitating Dubosiella which is dominant in the gut of healthy mice. Nutrient-related LBP may play an important role in gut health management.

Background: Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a dominantly inherited disease associated with sudden immune cell associations that remain unclear. The aim of this study was to comprehensively screen candidate markers associated with HCM and immune cells and explore potential pathogenic pathways. Methods: First, download the GSE32453 dataset to identify differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and perform Gene Ontology and pathway enrichment analysis using DAVID and GSEA. Next, construct protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks using String and Cytoscape to identify hub genes. Afterward, use CIBERSORT to determine the proportion of immune cells attributed to key genes in HCM and conduct ROC analysis based on the external dataset GSE36961 to evaluate their diagnostic value. Finally, validate the expression of key genes in the hypertrophic cardiomyocyte model through qRT-PCR using data from the HPA database. Results: Comprehensive analysis revealed that there were 254 upregulated genes and 181 downregulated genes in HCM. The enrichment study underscored pathways of inflammatory signaling, including MAPK and PI3K-Akt pathways. Pathways abundant in genes associated with HCM encompassed myocardial contraction and NADH dehydrogenase activity. Additionally, the analysis of immune infiltration revealed a notable increase in macrophages, NK cells, and monocytes in the HCM group, showing statistically significant variances in CD4 memory resting T cell infiltration when compared to the healthy control group. Within the validation dataset GSE36961, the Area Under the Curve (AUC) scores for eight crucial genes (FOS, CD86, CD68, BDNF, PIK3R1, PLEK, RAC2, CCL2) each exceeded 0.8. The HPA database revealed the positioning traits and paths of these eight crucial genes in smooth muscle cells, myocardial cells, and fibroblasts. The outcomes of the qRT-PCR were aligned with the sequencing findings. Conclusion: Bioinformatics analysis unveiled pivotal genes, pathways, and immune involvement, illuminating the molecular underpinnings of HCM. These findings suggest promising therapeutic targets for clinical applications.

Well-known complication associated with patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure include infection, acute cardiac tamponade, and local complications such as adjacent arterial or nerve damage, hemorrhage, and thrombophlebitis. Pelvic hematoma is rare and potentially fatal complication. This paper reports two cases of severe hemorrhagic shock within1 day after PFO closure. Both female patients presented to our department with history of headaches and were diagnosed with PFO. Both patients underwent percutaneous PFO closure from the right femoral vein. One day after the procedure, both patients experienced pelvic hematoma and were successfully rescued by compression hemostasis and uterine artery embolization. Both patients recovered well during follow-up. Life-threatening pelvic hematoma associated with PFO closure has a certain incidence and should be considered. Peripheral vascular complications after PFO closure can be safely treated but should not be ignored. We believe that the prevention of vascular mechanical damage during surgery is important. The possibility of spontaneous uterine artery rupture should be considered for unexplained pelvic hematoma. Although it is a rare complication, severe bleeding after PFO closure remains unpredictable. Timely and correct diagnosis and appropriate treatment are required. If the timing is delayed, there could be serious consequences.

Primary testicular lymphoma (PTL) is a rare lymphoma predominantly occurring in the elderly male population. It is characterized by a limited response to treatment and a heightened tendency towards relapse. Histologically, approximately 90% of PTL cases are classified as diffuse large B-cell lymphomas (DLBCL). Genetic features of PTL were delineated in a limited scope within several independent studies. Some of the articles which analyzed the genetic characterization of DLBCL have incorporated PTL samples, but these have been constrained by small sample sizes. In addition, there have been an absence of independent molecular typing studies of PTL. This report summarizes the common mutational features, copy number variations (CNVs) and molecular typing of PTL patients, based on whole-exome sequencing (WES) conducted on a cohort of 25 PTL patients. Among them, HLA, CDKN2A and MYD88 had a high mutation frequency. In addition, we found two core mutational characteristics in PTL including mutation in genes linked to genomic instability (TP53 and CDKN2A) and mutation in immune-related genes (HLA, MYD88, CD79B). We performed molecular typing of 25 PTL patients into C1 subtype with predominantly TP53 mutations and C2 subtype with predominantly HLA mutations. Notably, mutations in the TP53 gene predicted a poor outcome in most types of lymphomas. However, the C1 subtype, dominated by TP53 mutations, had a better prognosis compared to the C2 subtype in PTL. C2 subtype exhibited a worse prognosis, aligning with our finding that the mechanism of immune escape in PTL was primarily the deletions of HLA rather than PD-L1/PD-L2 alterations, a contrast to other DLBCLs. Moreover, we calculated the tumor mutation burden (TMB) and identified that TMB can predict prognosis and recurrence rate in PTL. Our study underscores the significance of molecular typing in PTL based on mutational characteristics, which plays a crucial role in prognostication and guiding therapeutic strategies for patients.

BACKGROUND: Tie1 orphan receptor has become a focus of research, Tie1 can form a polymer with Tie2, regulate the Ang/Tie2 pathway and play a vital role in pathological angiogenesis and tumor progression, the function of Tie1 has remained uncertain in the progression of cervical cancer (CC). Here, we investigated the functional influences of Tie1 overexpress on CC in vitro and in vivo. METHODS: We used Immunohistochemistry (IHC) analysis to detect the relative expression of Tie1 in CC, and we analyzed its connection with the overall survival (OS) and progression free survival (PFS)of CC patients. To prove the role of Tie1 in cell proliferation and metastatic, Tie1 expression in CC cell lines was upregulated by lentivirus. RESULTS: The high expression of Tie1 in tumor cells of cervical cancer tissues is significantly correlated with FIGO stage, differentiated tumors, tumors with diameters, deep stromal invasion. We found that cell progression was promoted in Tie1-overexpress CC cell lines in vivo and in vitro. Tie1 potentially exerts a commanding influence on the expression of markers associated with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway. CONCLUSIONS: Our research indicates that Tie1 is highly connected to CC progression as it may play a role in the EMT process through the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.

No consensus has been made on the use of PEG-modification recombinant human granulocyte colony stimulating factor (PEG-rhG-CSF) in patients receiving autologous peripheral blood stem cell transplantation (PBSCT). To evaluate the efficacy and safety of PEG-rhG-CSF in provision of neutrophil support for lymphoma patients receiving autologous PBSCT. This retrospective study included lymphoma patients receiving either PEG-rhG-CSF or rhG-CSF after autologous PBSCT from 2018 to 2021 in two clinics. Hematologic recovery time, incidence of infectious complications and toxicity were compared between these two rhG-CSFs and among different initiation time of PEG-rhG-CSF. Of the 139 subjects included, 93 received PEG-rhG-CSF and 46 received rhG-CSF after transplantation. Compared with rhG-CSF, PEG-rhG-CSF marginally but significantly accelerated the neutrophil engraftment by 1 day (10 vs. 9 days, respectively) with no increasing on the risk of infectious complication and toxicity. In the PEG-rhG-CSF group, 50 patients received the growth factor on day 1, 19 received on day 3 and 24 received on day 5. The neutrophil engraftment was significantly shorter in day 1 and day 3 subgroup (9, 9, and 10 days, respectively), with a lower incidence of febrile neutropenia (82%, 100%, 100%) and documented infections (76%, 100%, 100%) in day 1 subgroup. PEG-rhG-CSF might be an alternative to rhG-CSF for lymphoma patients received autologous PBSCT. Administrating PEG-rhG-CSF on day 1 can achieve both faster hematologic recovery and lower infectious complications. The unique aromas of mutton stem from the chemical reactions between the characteristic precursors during cooking. This study aimed to establish the relationship of volatile compounds and aroma precursors (protein, fat, free amino acids and fatty acids) in lamb from different breeds and muscle types. Hong lamb was characterized by greater tenderness and water holding capacity, higher polyunsaturated fatty acids and higher essential/non-essential amino acids in comparison with Hu lamb. Aldehydes, such as heptanal, hexanal, octanal and nonanal were higher in Hong-ST compared with Hu-ST. Principal component analysis (PCA) showed that aroma precursors were closely related to volatile components of cooked lamb. Discriminant analysis results showed that precursors and volatile compounds could be used to identify the breeds and muscle types of lamb. These findings revealed the contributors of lamb aroma and might help understand the regulatory mechanism of aroma in lamb from different breeds and muscle types.

We investigated the relationship between neutrophil apoptosis and endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) in sepsis and its mechanism. A prospective cohort study was conducted by recruiting a total of 58 patients with sepsis. Peripheral blood samples were collected on 1, 3, 5 and 7 days after admission to the ICU. The expressions of endoplasmic reticulum specific glucose regulatory protein 78 (GRP78), C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), apoptosis signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1), Bcl-2-like 11 (BIM), death receptor 5 (DR5), c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNK) and p38 were detected by Western blot and PCR. The subcellular location of CHOP and GRP78 was observed by immunofluorescence analysis. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between the expression of chop protein and the apoptosis rate of peripheral blood neutrophils. Healthy volunteers in the same period were selected as the healthy control group. The expression of GRP78 protein was significantly elevated on the first day of ICU admission and showed a decreasing trend on the third, fifth and seventh day, but was significantly higher than the corresponding healthy control group. The expression of CHOP protein reached the highest level on the third day. The expression of chop protein in each group was significantly higher than that in the corresponding healthy control group. Immunofluorescence staining clearly showed that the CHOP protein accumulated in the nucleus, with an elevation in the intensity of GRP78. The neutrophil apoptosis rate of sepsis patients on the 1st, 3rd, 5th and 7th day of ICU stay was significantly higher than that of the healthy control group, with the highest apoptosis rate on the 3rd day, and then decreased gradually. CHOP protein expression level was significantly positively correlated with neutrophil apoptosis rate in sepsis patients. Endoplasmic reticulum stress occurs in neutrophils during the development of sepsis. GRP78 protein and CHOP protein may be involved in the pathological process of neutrophil apoptosis in sepsis.

Objective: Radical hysterectomy has long been considered as the standard surgical treatment for early-stage cervical cancer (IA2 to IB1 stages), according to the 2009 International Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This study aims to conduct an in-depth evaluation of the effectiveness and safety of non-radical surgery as an alternative treatment for patients with early-stage cervical cancer. Methods: A systematic search of online databases including PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Library was conducted to identify relevant literature on surgical treatment options for early-stage cervical cancer. Keywords such as "cervical cancer," "conservative surgery," "early-stage," "less radical surgery," and "simple hysterectomy" were used. Meta-analysis was performed using Stata 15.0 software, which included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and cohort studies. Results: This meta-analysis included 8 eligible articles covering 9 studies, with 3,950 patients in the simple hysterectomy (SH) surgery group and 6,271 patients in the radical hysterectomy (RH) surgery group. The results indicate that there was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of the Overall Survival (OS) (HR = 1.04, 95% CI: 0.86-1.27, p = 0.671; Heterogeneity: I2 = 33.8%, p = 0.170), Disease Free Survival (DFS) (HR = 1.39, 95% CI: 0.59-3.29, p = 0.456; Heterogeneity: I2 = 0.0%, p = 0.374), Cervical Cancer Specific Survival (CCSS) (HR = 1.11, 95% CI: 0.80-1.54, p = 0.519; Heterogeneity: I2 = 11.9%, p = 0.287) and recurrence rate (RR = 1.16, 95% CI: 0.69-1.97, p = 0.583; Heterogeneity: I = 0.0%, p = 0.488). However, the mortality rate (RR = 1.35, 95% CI: 1.10-1.67, p = 0.006; Heterogeneity: I2 = 35.4%, p = 0.158) and the rate of postoperative adjuvant therapy (RR = 1.59, 95% CI: 1.16-2.19, p = 0.004; Heterogeneity: I2 = 92.7%, p < 0.10) were higher in the SH group compared to those in the RH group. On the other hand, the incidence of surgical complications was lower in the SH group (RR = 0.36, 95% CI: 0.21-0.59, p = 0.004; Heterogeneity: I2 = 0.0%, p = 0.857) than that in the RH group. Subgroup analysis revealed that patients in the IB1 stage SH group had a significantly higher mortality rate compared to those in the RH group (RR = 1.59, 95% CI: 1.23-2.07, p < 0.001; Heterogeneity: I2 = 0.0%, p = 0.332). However, there was no significant difference in mortality rates between the two groups for patients at stage IA2 (RR = 0.84, 95% CI: 0.54-1.30, p = 0.428; Heterogeneity: I2 = 26.8%, p = 0.243). In the subgroups positive for Lymphovascular Space Invasion (LVSI), patients in the SH group had a significantly higher mortality rate than those in the RH group (RR = 1.34, 95% CI: 1.09-1.65, p = 0.005; Heterogeneity: I2 = 41.6%, p = 0.128). However, in the LVSI-negative subgroups, there was no significant difference in mortality rates between the two groups (RR = 0.33, 95% CI: 0.01-8.04, p = 0.499). Conclusion: For patients with early-stage cervical cancer patients at IA2 without LVSI involvement, comparisons between the two groups in terms of OS, DFS, CCSS, recurrence rate, and mortality rates revealed no statistically significant differences, indicating that the choice of surgical approach does not affect long-term survival outcomes for this specific patient group. For patients at IB1 and IA2 stages with LVSI involvement, while there were no significant differences between the two groups in OS, DFS, CSS, and recurrence rate, a significant increase in mortality rates was observed in the SH group. This indicates a potential elevated risk of mortality associated with SH in this subset of patients. Notably, the incidence of surgical complications was significantly lower in the SH group compared to the RH group, highlighting the safety profile of SH in this context. Significantly, among patients in the SH group, an increase in the rate of postoperative adjuvant treatment is associated with a higher occurrence of treatment-related complications. To facilitate more precise patient selection for conservative surgical management, future prospective studies of superior quality are imperative to gain deeper insights into this matter. A reversible two-channel fluorescent nanocomposite with fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) effect was designed for the development, analysis, and characterization of latent fingerprints (LFPs). For the construction of the FRET probe, a core of mesoporous silicas (MSNs) were used to encapsulate the organic dye rhodamine 6G (RhD-6) as an acceptor, while green-emitting monodisperse phenolic resin nanoparticles (PFR NPs) were selected as a donor. The up-conversion material (UC) of NaYF4:Yb,Er was synthesized using a simple hydrothermal method, and the MSNs-RhD-6/PFR (PRM) was electrostatically adsorbed onto the UC nanoparticles using a layer-by-layer method to obtain MSNs-RhD-6/PFR-UC (PMU). Compared to ordinary single-channel materials, PMU can be excited by different light sources (365 nm UV/980 nm laser) and its fluorescence can be reversibly switched between yellow and green, demonstrating excellent light reversibility. The PMU composites were successfully used to visualize and detect LFPs on various substrate surfaces using a simple powder coating method. Due to the existing FRET effect and dual-channel characteristics, this composite material displays excellent contrast, outperforming commercially available products for wider applicability. Even on complex backgrounds and after aging or washing treatments, it still clearly recognizes fingerprints in first-, second-, and third-level details, showing its great potential in latent fingerprint detection.
