RESUMEN

Metal-organic framework (MOF) derivatives with tunable pore structure and improved conductivity are intensively designed as electroactive materials. Incorporating structure directing agents (SDA) is beneficial for designing MOF derivatives with excellent electrochemical performances. Ammonium fluoroborate has been reported as an effective SDA, coupled with cobalt salt and 2-methylimidazole, to synthesize zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67) derivatives for charge storage. However, the synthetic environment for growing cobalt-based active materials is relatively complex. In this study, cobalt tetrafluoroborate (Co(BF4)2) is proposed as a novel cobalt precursor, supplementing cobalt ions and acting as the SDA in a single chemical, to synthesize the cobalt-based electroactive material of energy storage electrodes. Interactions between solvent molecules and solutes play significant roles on the morphology, composition, and electrochemical performance of active materials. Deionized water, methanol and ethanol are used as precursor solvents to understand their effects on material and electrochemical properties. The optimal electrode presents a specific capacitance of 608.3 F/g at 20 mV/s, attributed to the highest electrochemical surface area and evident compositions of cobalt fluoride and hydroxide. A battery supercapacitor hybrid achieves the maximum energy density of 45 Wh/kg at 429 W/kg. The CF retention of 100% and Coulombic efficiency of 99% are achieved after 10,000 cycles.

RESUMEN

Denitrification driven by bacteria and fungi is the main source of nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from paddy soil. It is generally believed that biochar reduces N2O emissions by influencing the bacterial denitrification process, but the relevant mechanism of its impact on fungal denitrification is still unclear. In this study, the long-term straw carbonization returning experimental field in Changshu Agricultural Ecological Experimental Base of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was taken as the object. Through indoor anaerobic culture and molecular biology technology, the relative contributions of bacteria and fungi to denitrifying N2O production in paddy soil and the related microorganism mechanism were studied under different long-term biochar application amounts (blank, 2.25 t·hm-2, and 22.5 t·hm-2, respectively, expressed by BC0, BC1, and BC10). The results showed that compared with that in BC0, biochar treatment significantly reduced N2O emission rate, denitrification potential, and cumulative N2O emissions, and the contribution of bacterial denitrification was greater than that of fungal denitrification in all three treatments. Among them, the relative contribution rate of bacterial denitrification in BC10 (62.9%) was significantly increased compared to BC0 (50.8%), whereas the relative contribution rate of fungal denitrification in BC10 (37.1%) was significantly lower than that in BC0 (49.2%). The application of biochar significantly increased the abundance of bacterial denitrification functional genes (nirK, nirS, and nosZ) but reduced the abundance of fungal nirK genes. The contribution rate of fungal denitrification was significantly positively correlated with the N2O emission rate and negatively correlated with soil pH, TN, SOM, and DOC. Biochar may have inhibited the growth of denitrifying fungi by increasing pH and carbon and nitrogen content, reducing the abundance of related functional genes, thereby weakening the reduction ability of NO to N2O during fungal denitrification process. This significantly reduces the contribution rate of N2O production during the fungal denitrification process and the denitrification N2O emissions from paddy soil. This study helps to broaden our understanding of the denitrification process in paddy soil and provides a theoretical basis for further regulating fungal denitrification N2O emissions.

RESUMEN

The emergence of quantum mechanics and general relativity has transformed our understanding of the natural world significantly. However, integrating these two theories presents immense challenges, and their interplay remains untested. Recent theoretical studies suggest that the single-photon interference covering huge space can effectively probe the interface between quantum mechanics and general relativity. We developed an alternative design using unbalanced Michelson interferometers to address this and validated its feasibility over an 8.4 km free-space channel. Using a high-brightness single-photon source based on quantum dots, we demonstrated single-photon interference along this long-distance baseline. We achieved a phase measurement precision of 16.2 mrad, which satisfied the measurement requirements for a gravitational redshift at the geosynchronous orbit by 5 times the standard deviation. Our results confirm the feasibility of the single-photon version of the Colella-Overhauser-Werner experiment for testing the quantum effects in curved spacetime.

RESUMEN

OBJECTIVES: Radiomics has been demonstrated to be strongly associated with TNM stage and patient prognosis. We aimed to develop a model for predicting lymph node metastasis (LNM) and survival. METHODS: For radiomics texture selection, 3D Slicer 5.0.3 software and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) algorithm were used. Subsequently, the radiomics model, computed tomography (CT) image, and clinical risk model were compared. The performance of the three models was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves, decision curve analysis (DCA), calibration plots, and clinical impact curves (CICs). RESULTS: For the LNM prediction model, 224 patients with LNM information were used to construct a model that was applied to predict LNM. According to the CT data and clinical characteristics, we constructed a radiomics model, CT imaging model and clinical model. The radiomics model for evaluating LNM status showed excellent calibration and discrimination in the training cohort (AUC = 0.926, 95% CI = 0.869-0.982) and the validation cohort (AUC = 0.872, 95% CI = 0.802-0.941). DeLong's test demonstrated that the difference among the three models was significant. Similarly, DCA and CIC showed that the radiomics model has better clinical utility than the CT imaging model and clinical model. Our model also exhibited good performance in predicting survival-in line with the findings of the model built with clinical risk factors. CONCLUSIONS: CT radiomics models exhibited better predictive performance for LNM than models built based on clinical risk characteristics and CT imaging and had comparative clinical utility for predicting patient prognosis. CRITICAL RELEVANCE STATEMENT: The radiomics model showed excellent performance and discrimination for predicting LNM and survival of duodenal papillary carcinoma (DPC). KEY POINTS: LNM status determines the most appropriate treatment for DPC. Our radiomics model for evaluating the LNM status of DPC performed excellently. The radiomics model had high sensitivity and specificity for predicting survival, exhibiting great clinical value.

RESUMEN

ß-Lithium thiophosphate (LPS) exhibits high Li+ conductivity and has been identified as a promising ceramic electrolyte for safe and high-energy-density all-solid-state batteries. Integrating LPS into solid-state lithium (Li) batteries would enable the use of a Li electrode with the highest deliverable capacity. However, LPS-based batteries operate at a limited current density before short-circuiting, posing a major challenge for the development of application-relevant batteries. In this work, we designed a dual-component interfacial protective layer called LiSn-LiN that forms in situ between the Li electrode and LPS electrolyte. The LiSn component, Li22Sn5, exhibits enhanced Li diffusivity compared with the metallic lithium and facilitates a more uniform lithium deposition across the electrode surface, thus eliminating Li dendrite formation. Meanwhile, the LiN component, Li3N, shows enhanced mechanical stiffness compared with LPS and functions to suppress dendrite penetration. This chemically robust LiSn-LiN interlayer provides a more than doubled deliverable critical current density compared to systems without interfacial protection. Through combined XPS and XAFS analyses, we determined the local structure and the formation kinetics of the key functional Li22Sn5 phase formed via the electrochemical reduction of a Sn3N4 precursor. This work demonstrates an example of the structural-specific design of a protective interlayer with a desired function - dendrite suppression. The structure of a functional protective layer for a given solid-state battery should be tailored based on the given battery configuration and its unique interfacial chemistry.

RESUMEN

Probucol has been utilized as a cholesterol-lowering drug with antioxidative properties. However, the impact and fundamental mechanisms of probucol in obesity-related cognitive decline are unclear. In this study, male C57BL/6J mice were allocated to a normal chow diet (NCD) group or a high-fat diet (HFD) group, followed by administration of probucol to half of the mice on the HFD regimen. Subsequently, the mice were subjected to a series of behavioral assessments, alongside the measurement of metabolic and redox parameters. Notably, probucol treatment effectively alleviates cognitive and social impairments induced by HFD in mice, while exhibiting no discernible influence on mood-related behaviors. Notably, the beneficial effects of probucol arise independently of rectifying obesity or restoring systemic glucose and lipid homeostasis, as evidenced by the lack of changes in body weight, serum cholesterol levels, blood glucose, hyperinsulinemia, systemic insulin resistance, and oxidative stress. Instead, probucol could regulate the levels of nitric oxide and superoxide-generating proteins, and it could specifically alleviate HFD-induced hippocampal insulin resistance. These findings shed light on the potential role of probucol in modulating obesity-related cognitive decline and urge reevaluation of the underlying mechanisms by which probucol exerts its beneficial effects.

RESUMEN

Data curation for a hospital-based cancer registry heavily relies on the labor-intensive manual abstraction process by cancer registrars to identify cancer-related information from free-text electronic health records. To streamline this process, a natural language processing system incorporating a hybrid of deep learning-based and rule-based approaches for identifying lung cancer registry-related concepts, along with a symbolic expert system that generates registry coding based on weighted rules, was developed. The system is integrated with the hospital information system at a medical center to provide cancer registrars with a patient journey visualization platform. The embedded system offers a comprehensive view of patient reports annotated with significant registry concepts to facilitate the manual coding process and elevate overall quality. Extensive evaluations, including comparisons with state-of-the-art methods, were conducted using a lung cancer dataset comprising 1428 patients from the medical center. The experimental results illustrate the effectiveness of the developed system, consistently achieving F1-scores of 0.85 and 1.00 across 30 coding items. Registrar feedback highlights the system's reliability as a tool for assisting and auditing the abstraction. By presenting key registry items along the timeline of a patient's reports with accurate code predictions, the system improves the quality of registrar outcomes and reduces the labor resources and time required for data abstraction. Our study highlights advancements in cancer registry coding practices, demonstrating that the proposed hybrid weighted neural-symbolic cancer registry system is reliable and efficient for assisting cancer registrars in the coding workflow and contributing to clinical outcomes.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Despite continuous changes in treatment methods, the survival rate for advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patients remains low, highlighting the importance of diagnostic methods for HCC. AIM: To explore the efficacy of texture analysis based on multi-parametric magnetic resonance (MR) imaging (MRI) in predicting microvascular invasion (MVI) in preoperative HCC. METHODS: This study included 105 patients with pathologically confirmed HCC, categorized into MVI-positive and MVI-negative groups. We employed Original Data Analysis, Principal Component Analysis, Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA), and Non-LDA (NDA) for texture analysis using multi-parametric MR images to predict preoperative MVI. The effectiveness of texture analysis was determined using the B11 program of the MaZda4.6 software, with results expressed as the misjudgment rate (MCR). RESULTS: Texture analysis using multi-parametric MRI, particularly the MI + PA + F dimensionality reduction method combined with NDA discrimination, demonstrated the most effective prediction of MVI in HCC. Prediction accuracy in the pulse and equilibrium phases was 83.81%. MCRs for the combination of T2-weighted imaging (T2WI), arterial phase, portal venous phase, and equilibrium phase were 22.86%, 16.19%, 20.95%, and 20.95%, respectively. The area under the curve for predicting MVI positivity was 0.844, with a sensitivity of 77.19% and specificity of 91.67%. CONCLUSION: Texture analysis of arterial phase images demonstrated superior predictive efficacy for MVI in HCC compared to T2WI, portal venous, and equilibrium phases. This study provides an objective, non-invasive method for preoperative prediction of MVI, offering a theoretical foundation for the selection of clinical therapy.

RESUMEN

BACKGROUND: Within the normal range, elevated alanine aminotransferase (ALT) levels are associated with an increased risk of metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD). AIM: To investigate the associations between repeated high-normal ALT measurements and the risk of new-onset MAFLD prospectively. METHODS: A cohort of 3553 participants followed for four consecutive health examinations over 4 years was selected. The incidence rate, cumulative times, and equally and unequally weighted cumulative effects of excess high-normal ALT levels (ehALT) were measured. Cox proportional hazards regression was used to analyse the association between the cumulative effects of ehALT and the risk of new-onset MAFLD. RESULTS: A total of 83.13% of participants with MAFLD had normal ALT levels. The incidence rate of MAFLD showed a linear increasing trend in the cumulative ehALT group. Compared with those in the low-normal ALT group, the multivariate adjusted hazard ratios of the equally and unequally weighted cumulative effects of ehALT were 1.651 [95% confidence interval (CI): 1.199-2.273] and 1.535 (95%CI: 1.119-2.106) in the third quartile and 1.616 (95%CI: 1.162-2.246) and 1.580 (95%CI: 1.155-2.162) in the fourth quartile, respectively. CONCLUSION: Most participants with MAFLD had normal ALT levels. Long-term high-normal ALT levels were associated with a cumulative increased risk of new-onset MAFLD.

RESUMEN

Lactococcus garvieae is a fish pathogen that can cause diseases in humans and cows. Two genetically related species, Lactococcus formosensis and Lactococcus petauri, may be misidentified as L. garvieae. It is unclear if these species differ in host specificity and virulence genes. This study analyzed the genomes of 120 L. petauri, 53 L. formosensis, and 39 L. garvieae isolates from various sources. The genetic diversity and virulence gene content of these isolates were compared. The results showed that 77 isolates previously reported as L. garvieae were actually L. formosensis or L. petauri. The distribution of the three species varied across different collection sources, with L. petauri being predominant in human infections, human fecal sources, and rainbow trout, while L. formosensis was more common in bovine isolates. The genetic diversity of isolates within each species was high and similar. Using a genomic clustering method, L. petauri, L. formosensis, and L. garvieae were divided into 45, 22, and 13 clusters, respectively. Most rainbow trout and human isolates of L. petauri belonged to different clusters, while L. formosensis isolates from bovine and human sources were also segregated into separate clusters. In L. garvieae, most human isolates were grouped into three clusters that also included isolates from food or other sources. Non-metric multidimensional scaling ordination revealed the differential association of 15 virulence genes, including 14 adherence genes and a bile salt hydrolase gene, with bacterial species and certain collection sources. In conclusion, this work provides evidence of host specificity among the three species. IMPORTANCE: Lactococcus formosensis and Lactococcus petauri are two newly discovered bacteria, which are closely related to Lactococcus garvieae, a pathogen that affects farmed rainbow trout, as well as causes cow mastitis and human infections. It is unclear whether the three bacteria differ in their host preference and the presence of genes that contribute to the development of disease. This study shows that L. formosensis and L. petauri were commonly misidentified as L. garvieae. The three bacteria showed different distribution patterns across various sources. L. petauri was predominantly found in human infections and rainbow trout, while L. formosensis was more commonly detected in cow mastitis. Fifteen genes displayed a differential distribution among the three bacteria from certain sources, indicating a genetic basis for the observed host preference. This work indicates the importance of differentiating the three bacteria in diagnostic laboratories for surveillance and outbreak investigation purposes.

RESUMEN

Disc cutters are essential for full-section hard-rock tunnel boring machines. The performance of these devices directly affects tunnel engineering costs and duration. This paper proposes a sinusoidal variable cross-section (VCS) cutter ring and design method and establishes a digital model. Rock-like materials are simulated with a finite element model, and the model validity is verified via rock simulation mechanics tests. A disc cutter rolling rock simulation model for a linear cutting machine is also established, and simulation tests are performed for single- and three-cutter rolling using sinusoidal VCSs and constant cross-section (CCS) cutter models, respectively. The stress and energy changes for the cutters and rock-like material damage area were compared via simulation, confirming that some sinusoidal VCS cutter rings do less work on rock-like materials and cause larger crushing areas under the same engineering parameters; therefore, these cutter rings have smaller specific energies. The sinusoidal VCS cutter ring performance is 7% greater than that of CCS on average under single-cutter simulation, and the intermediate cutter performance of the intermediate cutter is 9% greater than that of CCS on average under three-cutter simulation. Thus, sinusoidal VCS cutter rings offer improved rock damage performance, and further research and application of this technology will improve the working efficiency of tunnel boring machines.

RESUMEN

INTRODUCTION: To develop and validate a radiomics nomogram for assessing the response of patients with Crohn's disease (CD) to infliximab. METHODS: Radiomics features of the spleen were extracted from computed tomography enterography images of each patient's arterial phase. The feature selection process was performed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator algorithm, and a radiomics score was calculated based on the radiomics signature formula. Subsequently, the radiomic model and the clinical risk factor model were separately established based on the radiomics score and clinically significant features, respectively. The performance of both models was evaluated using receiver operating characteristic curves, decision curve analysis curves, and clinical impact curves. RESULTS: Among the 175 patients with CD, 105 exhibited a clinical response, and 60 exhibited clinical remission after receiving infliximab treatment. Our radiomic model, comprising 20 relevant features, demonstrated excellent predictive performance. The radiomic nomogram for predicting clinical response showed good calibration and discrimination in the training cohort (area under the curve [AUC] 0.909, 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.840-0.978), the validation cohort (AUC 0.954, 95% CI 0.889-1), and the external cohort (AUC = 0.902, 95% CI 0.83-0.974). Accordingly, the nomogram was also suitable for predicting clinical remission. Decision curve analysis and clinical impact curves highlighted the clinical utility of our nomogram. DISCUSSION: Our radiomics nomogram is a noninvasive predictive tool constructed from radiomic features of the spleen. It also demonstrated good predictive accuracy in evaluating CD patients' response to infliximab treatment. Multicenter validation provided high-level evidence for its clinical application.

RESUMEN

The sprayable hydrogel coatings that can establish robust adhesion onto diverse materials and devices hold enormous potential; however, a significant challenge persists due to monomer hydration, which impedes even coverage during spraying and induces inadequate adhesion post-gelation. Herein, a polycation-reinforced (PCR) surface bridging strategy is presented to achieve tough and sprayable hydrogel coatings onto diverse materials. The polycations offer superior wettability and instant electrostatic interactions with plasma-treated substrates, facilitating an effective spraying application. This PCR-based hydrogel coatings demonstrate tough adhesion performance to inert PTFE and silicone, including remarkable shear strength (161 ± 49 kPa for PTFE), interfacial toughness (198 ± 27 J m-2 for PTFE), and notable tolerance to cyclic tension (10 000 cycles, 200% strain, silicone). Meanwhile, this method can be applied to various hydrogel formulations, offering diverse functionalities, including underwater adhesion, lubrication, and drug delivery. Furthermore, the PCR concept enables the conformal construction of durable hydrogel coatings onto sophisticated medical devices like cardiovascular stents. Given its simplicity and adaptability, this approach paves an avenue for incorporating hydrogels onto solid surfaces and potentially promotes untapped applications.

RESUMEN

Limited endoscopic sphincterotomy (EST) combined with endoscopic papillary balloon dilation (EPBD) is widely used. However, the optimal duration of small balloon dilation in choledocholithiasis remains controversial. We aimed to determine the optimal duration for 10 mm diameter balloon dilation after limited EST in choledocholithiasis. In this randomized controlled clinical trial, 320 patients were randomly assigned to receive small balloon dilation (10 mm in diameter) for 1 min (n = 160) or 3 min (n = 160) after deep bile duct cannulation. No significant difference in success rate of stone extraction between the two groups was observed. The incidence of post-ERCP pancreatitis (PEP) was higher in the 1 min group (10.6%) than in the 3 min group (4.4%) (P = 0.034). The logistic regression analysis showed that guidewire into the pancreatic duct, cannulation time > 5 min and 1 min balloon dilation were independent risk factors for PEP. There were no significant differences in other post-ERCP adverse events such as acute cholangitis, bleeding, perforation, etc. between the two groups. In conclusion, 3 min in duration was determined to be the optimal dilation condition for the removal of common bile duct stones.

RESUMEN

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is multifactorial that lifestyle, genetic, and environmental factors contribute to its onset and progression, thereby posing a challenge for therapeutic intervention. Nanoplastic (NP) is emerged as a novel environmental metabolism disruptor but the etiopathogenesis remains largely unknown. In this study, C57BL/6 J mice were fed with normal chow diet (NCD) and high-fat diet (HFD) containing 70 nm polystyrene microspheres (NP). We found that dietary-derived NP adsorbed proteins and agglomerated during the in vivo transportation, enabling diet-induced hepatic steatosis to NASH. Mechanistically, NP promoted liver steatosis by upregulating Fatp2. Furthermore, NP stabilized the Ip3r1, and facilitated ER-mitochondria contacts (MAMs) assembly in the hepatocytes, resulting in mitochondrial Ca2+ overload and redox imbalance. The redox-sensitive Nrf2 was decreased in the liver of NP-exposed mice, which positively regulated miR26a via direct binding to its promoter region [-970 bp to -847 bp and -318 bp to -176 bp]. NP decreased miR26a simultaneously upregulated 10 genes involved in MAMs formation, lipid uptake, inflammation, and fibrosis. Moreover, miR26a inhibition elevated MAMs-tether Vdac1, which promoted the nucleus translocation of NF-κB P65 and Keap1 and functionally inactivated Nrf2, leading to a vicious cycle. Hepatocyte-specific overexpressing miR26a effectively restored ER-mitochondria miscommunication and ameliorated NASH phenotype in NP-exposed and Keap1-overexpressed mice on HFD. The hepatic MAM-tethers/Nrf2/miR26a feedback loop is an essential metabolic switch from simple steatosis to NASH and a promising therapeutic target for oxidative stress-associated liver damage and NASH.

RESUMEN

Objective To analyze the characteristics of adult anomalous aortic origin of coronary artery(AAOCA)and the causes of missed diagnosis by transthoracic echocardiography(TTE)so as to facilitate TTE in diagnosing adult AAOCA.Methods A total of 37 adult patients with AAOCA diagnosed by non-invasive coronary CT angiography(CCTA)and/or invasive coronary angiography(ICA)were selected as research samples at some hospital from January 2019 to December 2022,and their clinical symptoms and the findings of 12-lead electrocardiogram, cardiac enzymes and TTE were summarized;the patients were typed according to the site of origin of coronary artery anomalies, and the causes for the missed diagnosis of TTE were eplored.Chi-square test was used to compare the differences in TTE missed diagnoses. Results Of the 37 patients,31 ones had no or only mild symptoms;most ones had negative results in terms of 12-lead electrocardiography, cardiac enzymes, changes in the size of the cardiac chambers, segmental ventricular wall motion abnormalities and left ventricular systolic function. The patients with anomalous origin of the right coronary artery from left sinus(ARCA-L)gained the largest proportion of 59.45%(22/37);21 patients were diagnosed with anomalous origin of coronary artery arising from the opposite sinus(ACAOS)in the two examinations of TTE,of whom there were 19 cases of ARCA-L,and the detection rate of ACAOS by TTE was 87.5%;all the 13 patients origins in branches and high-grade openings were missed by TTE.The detection rate of ACAOS by TTE was significantly higher than that of coronary artery anomalies originating in branches and in high openings, and the difference was statistically significant(21/24 vs 0/13,P<0.001).Conclusion Most adult AAOCA patients lack specificity in symptoms and related examination results.TTE has a high detection rate of ACAOS,while it is easy to miss the diagnosis of coronary artery anomalies originating from branches and high openings.Ultrasonographers have to identify false negative AAOCA by multi-section and multi-angle scanning and color Doppler flow imaging in order to reduce the rate of missed diagnosis.[Chinese Medical Equipment Journal,2024,45(1):71-75]

RESUMEN

Objective: This study aimed to examine the effectiveness and safety of respiratory sensing methods in nonvascular interventional therapy of liver tumors. Materials and Methods: In this study, 64 patients with primary liver cancer or liver metastasis were retrospectively analyzed. According to two widely used clinical techniques to limit respiratory movement-breath holding and respiratory sensing technology-they were randomly allocated into two groups: respiratory gated and respiratory training. We aimed to compare the application and effect of these two techniques in the nonvascular interventional therapy of liver tumors. Results: The puncture times of the respiratory-gated and respiratory training groups were 5.34 ± 2.47 and 8.41 ± 3.63 min, respectively. Puncture errors were 10.00 ± 2.65 and 12.81 ± 8.57 mm, respectively. Puncture adjustment times were 3.06 ± 1.26 and 4.87 ± 1.69 times, respectively, and the differences were statistically significant (P < 0.01). Conclusions: Respiratory sensing technology has been effectively used to assist in puncturing liver malignant tumors using a radiofrequency (RF) ablation (RFA) system that is guided by computed tomography (CT) scans. It is superior to the classical breath-holding step puncture technique in terms of puncture time, puncture error, and puncture needle adjustment times.

Sodium thioantimonate (Na3SbS4) and its W-substituted analogue Na2.88Sb0.88W0.12S4 have been identified as potential electrolyte materials for all-solid-state sodium batteries due to their high Na+ conductivity. Ball milling mechanochemistry is a frequently employed synthetic approach to produce such Na+-conductive solid solutions; however, changes in the structure and morphology introduced in these systems via the mechanochemistry process are poorly understood. Herein, we combined X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, powder X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy characterization techniques to provide an in-depth analysis of these solid electrolytes. We report unique changes seen in the structure and morphology of Na3SbS4 and Na2.88Sb0.88W0.12S4 resulting from ball milling, inducing changes in the electrochemical performance of the solid-state batteries. Specifically, we observed a tetragonal-to-cubic crystal phase transition within Na3SbS4 following the ball mill, resulting in an increase in Na+ conductivity. In contrast, the Na+ conductivity was reduced in mechanochemically treated Na2.88Sb0.88W0.12S4 due to the formation and accumulation of a WS2 phase. In addition, mechanochemical treatment alters the surface morphology of densified Na2.88Sb0.88W0.12S4 pellets, providing intimate contact at the solid electrolyte/Na interface. This phenomenon was not observed in Na3SbS4. This work reveals the structural and morphological origin of the changes seen in these materials' electrochemical performance and how mechanochemical synthesis can introduce them.

RESUMEN

Objective: To compare the diagnostic value of cytobrush, ERCP-guided biopsy, SpyGlass direct visual impression and SpyGlass-guided biospy (SpyBite) in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant bile duct strictures. Methods: The data of 1,008 patients who were clinically diagnosed with indeterminate biliary strictures and underwent ERCP-guided biopsy, cytobrush, SpyGlass direct visual impression or SpyBite at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang University between January 2010 and December 2019 were collected and analyzed retrospectively. The final diagnose was determined by surgical pathological specimen or follow-up (Malignant stricture can be identified if the stricture showed malignant progression during one year of follow-up). The differential diagnostic value of the above endoscopic diagnostic methods was evaluated by means of sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value, negative predictive value, etc. and safety was evaluated by the incidence rate of adverse events. Results: In terms of sensitivity, standard biopsy group (48.6%) and SpyBite group (61.5%) were significantly higher than cytobrush group (32.0%), and visual impression group (100%) was significantly higher than any other group. As far as specificity was concerned, cytobrush group (99.0%), standard biopsy group (99.3%) and the SpyBite group (100%) were significantly higher than visual impression (55.6%), but there was no statistical difference among the three groups above. As far as accuracy was concerned, standard biopsy group (65.3%), and SpyBite group (80.0%) were significantly higher than cytobrush group (44.4%), and SpyBite group (80.0%) was significantly higher than visual impression group (54.8%). In terms of safety, visual impression group and SpyBite group were significantly higher than cytobrush group and standard biopsy group in post-ERCP cholangitis. Conclusion: SpyBite combined with SpyGlass-guided visual impression was better for differential diagnosis of benign and malignant bile duct strictures in terms of sensitivity and accuracy compared with conventional endoscopic diagnostic methods such as cytobrush and standard biopsy. Furthmore, the incidence rates of adverse events after SpyGlass examination was similar to those after conventional endoscopic diagnostic methods except for higher cholangitis, which could be controlled by antibiotics and might be avoided by adequate biliary drainage.
