Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic is an adverse event and risk factor for the integral health of adolescents and young people, associated with stress disorders, anxiety, and depression; however, the ecological-transactional perspective supposed that the perception of the event or situation plays a central role in adaptation and mental health. Likewise, detecting risk-protective factors is the basis for effective intervention The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable multidimensional measure to explore the perception and psychological responses of young people to the pandemic. An instrumental study was carried out and 727 adolescents aged 13 to 24 years (M= 18.36; SD= 2.9) from Mexico City participated. The COVID-19's Youth Perception Survey (COVID 19's YPS) was constructed which was applied online. A factor analysis using the principal components (n= 410) yielded a solution of eight factors: Fear and worries, Stress indicators, School pressures, Preventive behaviors, Changes in routine, Family dynamics, Relaxation and leisure, and Virtual socialization (EV= 59.07%). A confirmatory factor analysis using the maximum likelihood method (n= 317) corroborated an eight-factor model showing acceptable fit index, and it also shows a good internal consistency (α total= .863). These results suggest that the Survey is a valid and reliable measure that can be used to comprehensively assess adolescents and youth perception and responses to the pandemic, providing data to designing evidence-based intervention.

RESUMEN

To evaluate the relationship between Self-Rated Health (SRH) and cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) in a sample of children and adolescents enrolled in official schools in Bogotá, Colombia. A cross-sectional study was performed with 7402 children and adolescents between 9 and 17 years of age. Participants were asked to rate their health based on eight validated questions, addressing the participants propensity for headache, stomach-ache, backache, feeling-low, irritability/bad mood, nervousness, sleeping-difficulties, and dizziness. The choices were "rarely or never", "almost every month", "almost every week", and "more than once a week/about every day". Participants performed the international course-navette shuttle run test to estimate CRF, and cut-off points for age and gender were used to categorize the healthy/unhealthy fitness zone according to the FITNESSGRAM® criteria. Overall, 16.4% of those surveyed reported a perception of irritability/bad mood "more than once a week/about every day", followed by feeling-low and nervousness (both with 9.9%). Dizziness had the lowest prevalence with a percentage of 6.9%. Unhealthy CRF in boys increased the likelihood of headaches by 1.20 times, stomach aches by 1.31 times, feeling-low by 1.29 times, nervousness by 1.24 times, and dizziness by 1.29 times. In girls, unhealthy CRF increased the likelihood of headaches by 1.19 times, backache by 1.26 times, feeling-low by 1.28 times, irritability/bad mood by 1.17 times, sleeping-difficulties by 1.20 times, and dizziness by 1.27 times. SRH was associated with CRF in both genders. Early identification of children and adolescents with low CRF levels will permit interventions to promote healthy behaviors and prevent future diseases during adulthood.

Contudo é preciso considerar a percepção, a opinião e a sensibilidade corporal do atleta.

The sport training needs systematization for the performance improvement. However the Athlete's perception, opinion and body sensitivity should be considered. The objective was to evidence the Athlete's perceptions of their own bodies during the training. 24 basketball players of both genders, aged between 23 and 34 years old, over five years' experience in the national ranking competitions had been interviewed, who answered the following questions: What training means for you? How your body reacts in different moments of the training? What are the pleasing and the discomforting moments during the training? How your body reacts when physical skills are required during the training? The interpretation had been made through content analysis: Technical and analytical meaning units preparation and the results show that: 1. Training for athletes is a synonym of dedication and satisfaction (53,3%), but at the same time tiredness and care (16,6%); 2. Despite of limited, the body reacts more positively at the season beginning (75%), but the pain and tiredness interfere (50%); 3. The training greatest pleasure is playing with ball (41,6%) and discomfort is physical preparation and pain (45,8%); 4. Most athletes feel well training (41,6%), but express care to the body (16,6%). We had concluded that the opinion of the athletes should be considered and the protection and respect for the human being' body who practice sports are needed....(AU)

The aim of this study was to quantify the degree of effort using the method of PSE in official games of futsal. The sample consisted of 10 male athletes (16.5 ± 2 years) who participated in the state level of School Youth Games. The behavior of perceived exertion (RPE) in response to the five official games of futsal in the under-17 category was evaluated, two and three through the qualifying for the final stage of the competition. The quantification of the internal load was determined by the session SPE (Foster et, al. 2001) method. Average values of 7.5 and 7.4 for departures from 1st stage and 8.2, 8.7 and 8.9 for the finals matches were found. The results indicate increasing loads throughout the competition, demonstrating that the games were held at high intensities, consistent with intensities of futsal matches analyzed using other indicators such as heart rate and lactate. Can conclude that the PSE is a reliable method to measure the intensity of the efforts in official games of futsal.(AU)

RESUMEN

This study sought to assess the cognitive development of older adults in different age groups, examining subjective perception of memory, verbal fluency, orientation in time and space, memory, and attention. The sample consisted of 121 subjects randomly selected, between the ages of 60 and 95 years, of both sexes and with varied educational attainment, took part in the study. Data were collected with a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS), the subjective Memory Complaint Questionnaire (MAC-Q), the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE), the Digit Span subtest of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale, Revised (WAIS-R), the Buschke Selective Reminding Test, and a category verbal fluency test (animals). Results showed an inverse correlation between subjective perception of memory complaints and cognitive test performance. Age and educational attainment influenced cognitive test performance. Younger subjects and those with a higher educational attainment scored better on the verbal fluency test, MMSE, and digit span.
