ABSTRACT

At the Mainz Microtron MAMI, the first high-resolution pion spectroscopy from decays of strange systems was performed by electron scattering off a (9)Be target in order to study the Λ binding energy of light hypernuclei. Positively charged kaons were detected by a short-orbit spectrometer with a broad momentum acceptance at 0° forward angles with respect to the beam, efficiently tagging the production of strangeness in the target nucleus. Coincidentally, negatively charged decay pions were detected by two independent high-resolution spectrometers. About 10(3) pionic weak decays of hyperfragments and hyperons were observed. The pion momentum distribution shows a monochromatic peak at pπ≈133 MeV/c, corresponding to the unique signature for the two-body decay of hyperhydrogen Λ(4)H→(4)He+π(-), stopped inside the target. Its Λ binding energy was determined to be BΛ=2.12±0.01 (stat)±0.09 (syst)MeV with respect to the (3)H+Λ mass.

ABSTRACT

By their mechanism of action local anesthesia methods are divided into diffuse and vascular. Anesthesias are vascular at arteriolo-capillary-venous system level. Besides more than 2-fold efficacy increase, circulatory mechanism also contributes to enhancement of cardiovascular system reactions.

ABSTRACT

Frequency of positive aspiration and value of pain threshold of lower posterior teeth after intraseptal anesthesia 0,4 ml 4% articaini with epinephrine 1:100 000 of low firstpremolar were studied on 48 volunteers. Positive aspiration with maximum sensitivity of this and neighbour teeth was observed in 43 cases.

ABSTRACT

By their mechanism of action local anaesthesia methods were divided into diffused and vascular. Intraosseous, intraseptal and intraligamental anesthaesias are vascular ones at capillary-venous system level. Circulatory mechanism besides effectiveness increased more than 2-fold and also promotes enhancement of cardiovascular system responses.

ABSTRACT

Effectiveness of intraseptal anesthesia for dental caries and its complications in 154 patients of different sex and ages was studied. Arterial pressure and heart rate were investigated in all patients before and after intraseptal injection with the help of automated monitor. Complete pain relief was observed in 135 patiensts, incomplete - in 12 patients. Intraseptal injection didn't act in 7 cases. There was no difference between the anesthesia on mandibula and maxilla. This was simple and predictable technique strong reaction of cardiovascular system occurred.

ABSTRACT

AIM: To study epidemiological characteristics of cryptosporidosis (CS) in conditions of arid climate which contributes to suppression of the immune status of the organism. MATERIAL AND METHODS: 1935 patients were treated for acute intestinal infection with watery diarrhea in Ashkhabad hospital in 1994-1999. Monocryptosporidiosis was diagnosed in 511 of them. Also, 46 mothers of CS children and 32 foci of the infection were examined. Cryptosporidial oocysts in the feces were detected by the Fulleborn's method. The preparations were stained by Ziehl-Neelsen. RESULTS: CS incidence in Turkmenistan was high, especially in children aged 2 to 7 years and adults aged 31-35 and 46-50 years. CS occurs throughout the year, but the morbidity is higher in summer and winter. The leading route of transmission is alimentary, it prevails over contact, watery and perinatal.

ABSTRACT

AIM: The study of clinical symptoms of gastrointestinal lesions in subjects invaded with cryptosporidia. MATERIALS AND METHODS: From 1994 to 1997 383 patients with monocryptosporidiasis were observed. 75.7% of them were children. Cryptosporidia oocysts were identified in fecalia using Fulleborn technique. The specimens were stained according to Cill-Nilsson. RESULTS: Clinically, the invasion was characterized by acute onset, severe course in children, involvement of the whole gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts. CONCLUSION: Monocryptosporidiasis runs in Turkmenistan a more severe course compared to countries with moderately hot climate.

ABSTRACT

The oocystic infestation of Cryptosporidia in patients with acute intestinal infections was first registered in Turkmenistan. It was 15.8%, highly affecting children of the first two years of life. The monoinfection is characterized by common severe and critical forms (in 60%) with marked symptoms of diarrhea. Cases of hemocolitis were detected. A large source of Cryptosporidium infection was found among 8 animal species under study (chickens, ducks, pigeons, canary birds, sheep, cattle, pigs, dogs).

ABSTRACT

It is shown that the average number of sister chromatid exchanges (SCE) per one cell in patients with tuberous sclerosis as well as in those with Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosis do not differ from the control. But the non-parametric methods of analysis have revealed differences in the spontaneous level of SCE is patients with tuberous sclerosis, while no such differences were revealed in patients with Recklinghausen's neurofibromatosis.
