ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: The therapeutic use is one of the major indications of the contact lenses, near the correction of the refraction. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study analyzed 86 patients who wore one TCL. The data was analyzed concordant with the main effects of the TCL and their limits. RESULTS AND DISCUSSIONS: The main positive effects of the TCL were: relief of pain, improving of re-epithelization, the tectonic effect, mechanic protection and hydratation of the cornea, visual improving and the permitting of the binocularity. The limits of the TCL are related to: susceptibility of infections, non adaptation or loosing of the lens in irregularity of the cornea. CONCLUSIONS: TCL: Efficient in majority of cases; Permits the binocular vision; The complications occur rarely and are minor.

ABSTRACT

The opacity of posterior capsule after the extracapsular extraction of the crystalline with implant of an artificial crystalline in the posterior chamber is a post-operatory complication which is meeting in 5.33% operated eyes with a subjective consequence which is a visual acuity diminuation with the appearance of some bright bands in the visual field of the operated eyes especially in the night. The principal reasons was founded to be the patient age and the disposal of pseudophakia in the ciliary sulcus what is permitting the contact of the anterior chamber's remains with the posterior capsule which is the place of beginning to the epithelium proliferation.

ABSTRACT

This scientific work includes the retrospective study of the intra-operatory complications in 150 cases of cataract operated eyes, using extracapsular implant of artificial crystalline in the posterior chamber; the study is based on the operatory data file, filled in by the surgeon immediately after the operation. The data file we are submitting to your attention can be registered on a floppy disk; it includes the most important data concerning the patient, the type of the cataract, the operatory techniques, the incidents that might occur and the most appropriate method to solve them. The registration on file of the operatory data has proven its efficiency while grouping, inventorying and processing data, but also while determining the conclusions of the prophylactic measures. The rupture of the anterior capsula till the zonular zone occurred in 0.66% of the cases; capsular rests--2%; sphincter lesions--1.33%; iris lesions--0.66%, endothelium lesions--1.33%; posterior capsula rupture--2.66%, followed by anterior vitrectomy and implant of an artificial crystalline in the anterior chamber.
