ABSTRACT

Rock mass deformation and failure are macroscopic manifestations of crack initiation, propagation, and coalescence. However, simulating the transition of rocks from continuous to discontinuous media under cyclic dynamic loading remains challenging. This study proposes a hybrid finite-discrete element method (HFDEM) to model crack propagation, incorporating a frequency-dependent cohesive-zone model. The mechanical properties of standard sandy mudstone under quasi-static and cyclic dynamic loading were simulated using HFDEM, and the method's reliability was verified through experimental comparison. The comparative analysis demonstrates that HFDEM successfully captures crack interaction mechanisms and accurately simulates the overall failure behavior of specimens. Additionally, the effects of pre-existing flaw inclination angle and dynamic loading frequency on rock failure mechanisms were investigated. The numerical results reveal that rock samples exhibit significantly higher compressive strength under dynamic loading compared to quasi-static loading, with compressive strength increasing with higher cyclic dynamic load frequencies. Furthermore, by analyzing the strength characteristics, crack propagation, and failure modes of the samples, insights into the failure mechanisms of rocks under different frequency loads were obtained. This study provides valuable insights into crack development and failure of rocks under seismic loads, offering guidance for engineering practices.

ABSTRACT

The electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction (NITRR) holds great promise for purifying wastewater and producing valuable ammonia (NH3). However, the lack of efficient electrocatalysts has impeded the achievement of highly selective NH3 synthesis from the NITRR. In this study, we report the design and synthesis of two polynuclear Co-cluster-based coordination polymers, {[Co2(TCPPDA)(H2O)5]·(H2O)9(DMF)} and {Co1.5(TCPPDA)[(CH3)2NH2]·(H2O)6(DMF)2} (namely, NJUZ-2 and NJUZ-3), which possess distinct coordination motifs with well-defined porosity, high-density catalytic sites, accessible mass transfer channels, and nanoconfined chemical environments. Benefitting from their intriguing multicore metal-organic coordination framework structures, NJUZ-2 and NJUZ-3 exhibit remarkable catalytic activities for the NITRR. At a potential of -0.8 V (vs. RHE) in an H-type cell, they achieve an optimal Faradaic efficiency of approximately 98.5% and high long-term durability for selective NH3 production. Furthermore, the electrocatalytic performance is well maintained even under strongly acidic conditions. When operated under an industrially relevant current density of 469.9 mA cm-2 in a flow cell, a high NH3 yield rate of up to 3370.6 mmol h-1 g-1cat. was observed at -0.5 V (vs. RHE), which is 20.1-fold higher than that obtained in H-type cells under the same conditions. Extensive experimental analyses, in combination with theoretical computations, reveal that the great enhancement of the NITRR activity is attributed to the preferential adsorption of NO3- and the reduction in energy input required for the hydrogenation of *NO3 and *NO2 intermediates.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: Esophageal-Squamous Cell Carcinoma (ESCC) is often diagnosed at the middle or late stage, thus requiring more effective therapeutic strategies. Pharmacologically, the anti-tumor activity of the principal active constituent of Sophora flavescens, matrine (MA), has been explored widely. Notwithstanding, it is significant to nanotechnologically enhance the anti-tumor activity of MA in view of its potential to distribute non-tumor cells. METHODS: Herein, MA-loaded Nano-Liposomes (MNLs) were prepared to enhance the effect of anti-ESCC. The MNL showed a smaller sized particle (25.95 ± 1.02 nm) with a low polydispersed index (PDI = 0.130 ± 0.054), uniform spherical morphology, good solution stability, and encapsulated efficiency (65.55% ± 2.47). Furthermore, we determined the characteristics of KYSE-150 cells by cell viability assay, IC50, Mitochondrial Membrane Potential (MMP), Western blot, and apoptotic analysis, which indicated that MNLs down-regulated the cell viability and IC50 in a concentration-dependent manner and induced a significant change in JC-1 fluorescence from red to green. RESULTS: The above observations resulted in increased Bax and Caspase-3 levels, coupled with a substantial decrease in Bcl-2 and apoptotic promotion at the advanced stage compared with MA. CONCLUSION: Based on these results, MNLs may serve as a more effective and promising therapeutic option for ESCC.

ABSTRACT

Objective: To explore the knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) toward interstitial lung disease (ILD) among patients and analyze the factors affecting KAP. Methods: This cross-sectional study enrolled patients with ILD treated at the Respiratory Department of Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital between January 2023 and June 2023. A self-administered questionnaire was developed to evaluate their KAP toward ILD through convenient sampling. Multivariate regression analysis and structural equation model (SEM) were used to analyze the factors influencing KAP and their interactions. Results: A total of 397 patients were enrolled, with 61.71% male. The mean KAP scores were 4.60 ± 3.10 (possible range: 0-12), 16.97 ± 2.16 (possible range: 5-25), and 32.60 ± 7.16 (possible range: 9-45), respectively. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that junior high school [OR = 2.003, 95%CI: 1.056-3.798, p = 0.033], high school and above [OR = 2.629, 95%CI: 1.315-5.258, p = 0.006], and duration of disease ≥5 years [OR = 1.857, 95%CI: 1.132-3.046, p = 0.014] were independently associated with adequate knowledge. The knowledge [OR = 1.108, 95%CI: 1.032-1.189, p = 0.005] and duration of disease ≥5 years [OR = 0.525, 95%CI: 0.317-0.869, p = 0.012] were independently associated with a positive attitude. The knowledge [OR = 1.116, 95%CI: 1.036-1.202, p = 0.004], attitude [OR = 1.180, 95%CI: 1.061-1.312, p = 0.002], and the age of >70 years [OR = 0.447, 95%CI: 0.245-0.817, p = 0.009] were independently associated with the proactive practice. SEM showed that patients' knowledge of ILD directly affected their attitude (ß = 0.842, p < 0.001) and practice (ß = 0.363, p < 0.001), and their attitude also affected their practice (ß = 0.347, p = 0.014). Conclusion: Patients with ILD in China had poor knowledge, intermediate attitude, and proactive practice toward ILD, which suggests that the health education of patients should be further strengthened.

ABSTRACT

A microfluidic sweat monitoring patch that collects human sweat for a long time is designed to achieve the effect of detecting the rise and fall of human sweat glucose over a long period of time by increasing the use time of a single patch. Five collection pools, four serpentine channels, and two different valves are provided. Among them, the three-dimensional valve has a large burst pressure as a balance between the internal and external air pressures of the patch. The bursting pressure of the two-dimensional diverter valve is smaller than that of the three-dimensional gas valve, and its role is to control the flow direction of the liquid. Through plasma hydrophilic treatment of different durations, the optimal hydrophilic duration is obtained. The embedded chromogenic disc detects the sweat glucose value at two adjacent time intervals and compares the information of the human body to increase or reduce glucose. The patch has good flexibility and can fit well with human skin, and because polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) has good light transmission, it reduces the measurement error caused by the color-taking process and makes the detection results more accurate.

ABSTRACT

Genetic and epigenetic alterations are cancer hallmark characteristics. However, the role of inherited cancer predisposition alleles in co-opting lineage factor epigenetic reprogramming and tumor progression remains elusive. Here the FinnGen cohort phenome-wide analysis, along with multiple genome-wide association studies, has consistently identified the rs339331-RFX6/6q22 locus associated with prostate cancer (PCa) risk across diverse populations. It is uncovered that rs339331 resides in a reprogrammed androgen receptor (AR) binding site in PCa tumors, with the T risk allele enhancing AR chromatin occupancy. RFX6, an AR-regulated gene linked to rs339331, exhibits synergistic prognostic value for PCa recurrence and metastasis. This comprehensive in vitro and in vivo studies demonstrate the oncogenic functions of RFX6 in promoting PCa cell proliferation and metastasis. Mechanistically, RFX6 upregulates HOXA10 that profoundly correlates with adverse PCa outcomes and is pivotal in RFX6-mediated PCa progression, facilitating the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and modulating the TGFß/SMAD signaling axis. Clinically, HOXA10 elevation is associated with increased EMT scores, tumor advancement and PCa recurrence. Remarkably, reducing RFX6 expression restores enzalutamide sensitivity in resistant PCa cells and tumors. This findings reveal a complex interplay of genetic and epigenetic mechanisms in PCa pathogenesis and drug resistance, centered around disrupted prostate lineage AR signaling and abnormal RFX6 expression.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Tumor hypoxia is associated with prostate cancer (PCa) treatment resistance and poor prognosis. Pimonidazole (PIMO) is an investigational hypoxia probe used in clinical trials. A better understanding of the clinical significance and molecular alterations underpinning PIMO-labeled tumor hypoxia is needed for future clinical application. Here, we investigated the clinical significance and molecular alterations underpinning PIMO-labeled tumor hypoxia in patients with localized PCa, in order to apply PIMO as a prognostic tool and to identify potential biomarkers for future clinical translation. METHODS: A total of 39 patients with localized PCa were recruited and administered oral PIMO before undergoing radical prostatectomy (RadP). Immunohistochemical staining for PIMO was performed on 37 prostatectomy specimens with staining patterns evaluated and clinical association analyzed. Whole genome bisulfite sequencing was performed using laser-capture of microdissected specimen sections comparing PIMO positive and negative tumor areas. A hypoxia related methylation molecular signature was generated by integrating the differentially methylated regions with previously established RNA-seq datasets. RESULTS: Three PIMO staining patterns were distinguished: diffuse, focal, and comedo-like. The comedo-like staining pattern was more commonly associated with adverse pathology. PIMO-defined hypoxia intensity was positively correlated with advanced pathologic stage, tumor invasion, and cribriform and intraductal carcinoma morphology. The generated DNA methylation signature was found to be a robust hypoxia biomarker, which could risk-stratify PCa patients across multiple clinical datasets, as well as be applicable in other cancer types. CONCLUSIONS: Oral PIMO unveiled clinicopathologic features of disease aggressiveness in localized PCa. The generated DNA methylation signature is a novel and robust hypoxia biomarker that has the potential for future clinical translation.

ABSTRACT

INTRODUCTION: The onset of cancer compels patients to grapple with existential questions. Enabling individuals with cancer, irrespective of the disease stage, to experience meaningful lives is of utmost importance in enhancing their overall quality of life. This study will synthesise qualitative research evidence to understand cancer patients' perceptions and perspectives regarding their meaning in life. Such insights ultimately contribute to enhancing the profound experience of meaning throughout the life course of cancer patients. METHODS AND ANALYSIS: The English and Chinese databases we will search include the Cochrane Library, PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, EMbase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wan Fang Data, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and VIP Database for Chinese Technical Periodicals. Two independent reviewers will assess the quality of the included studies using the standard JBI Critical Appraisal Checklist for Qualitative Research and extract data using the standard JBI Data Extraction Tool for Qualitative Research. The JBI meta-aggregation approach will be employed to compare, analyse and summarise the original results. To enhance confidence in the synthesised results of the qualitative study, the final synthesised study results will be graded using the JBI ConQual approach. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION: External ethical approval is not necessary for this review since it involves a retrospective analysis of publicly available primary data through secondary analysis. The findings of the review will be disseminated by publishing them in a peer-reviewed journal. PROSPERO REGISTRATION NUMBER: CRD42023447664.

ABSTRACT

The striated frogfish (Antennarius striatus), a member of the sub-order Antennarioidei within the order Lophiiformes, possesses remarkable adaptations. These include the ability to modulate body coloration for camouflage, utilize bioluminescent esca for predation, and employ elbow-like pectoral fins for terrestrial locomotion, making it a valuable model for studying bioluminescence, adaptive camouflage, fin-to-limb transition, and walking-like behaviors. To better study and contribute to the conservation of the striated frogfish, we obtained the micro-CT image of the pectoral fin bones and generated a high-quality, chromosome-level genome assembly using multiple sequencing technologies. The assembly spans 548.56 Mb with a contig N50 of 21.05 Mb, and 99.35% of the genome is anchored on 24 chromosomes, making it the most complete genome available within Lophiiformes. The genome annotation revealed 28.43% repetitive sequences and 23,945 protein-coding genes. This chromosome-level genome provides valuable genetic resources for frogfish conservation and offers insights into the genetic mechanisms underlying its unique phenotypic evolution. Furthermore, it establishes a foundation for future research on limb development and adaptive camouflage in this species.

ABSTRACT

An eco-friendly adsorbent was prepared by reverse suspension crosslinking method to remove multiple pollutants from aqueous solution. Both raw materials, derived from humus (HS) and chitosan (CS), are biodegradable and low-cost natural biopolymers. After combining HS with CS, the adsorption capacity was significantly improved due to compensation effects between the two components. HS/CS exhibited the features of amphoteric adsorption through pH adjustment, enabling it to adsorb not only anionic pollutants (Methyl Orange (MO) and Cr(VI)), but also cationic ones (Methylene Blue (MB) and Pb(II)). The adsorption capacities were approximately 242 mg/g, 69 mg/g, 188 mg/g and 57 mg/g for MO, Cr(VI), MB and Pb(II), respectively. HS/CS showed a slight preference for MO in MO/Cr(VI) co-adsorption system, whereas strong selectivity for MB over Pb(II) in MB/Pb(II) system under acidic condition (pH<3.0). This selective behavior would allow for potential applications in separating MB/Pb(II) effluents and selectively recycling Pb(II) in acidic environment. The isothermal and kinetic adsorption behaviors followed Langmuir model and pseudo-second-order model, respectively. The density functional theory (DFT) confirmed that the interaction between metal ions and adsorbents was primarily attributed to chelation and electrostatic adsorption, owing to nitric and oxygenic functional groups. Whereas, the adsorption mechanisms for dyes were involved in electrostatic attraction, H-bond and π-π bond, due to available hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen atoms and aromatic groups on the surface of adsorbent and adsorbates. The adsorbent could be efficiently regenerated and retained over 90% of its adsorption capacity after five cycles, which has a potential for practical applications in water treatment.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: Progesterone receptor (PR) serves as a crucial prognostic and predictive marker in breast cancer. Nonetheless, the interplay between PR and the tumor immune microenvironment remains inadequately understood. This investigation employs bioinformatics analyses, mouse models, and clinical specimens to elucidate the impact of PR on immune microenvironment and identify potential targets for immunotherapy, furnishing valuable guidance for clinical practice. METHODS: Analysis of immune infiltration score by Xcell between PR-positive and PR-negative breast cancer tumors. Construction of overexpression mouse progesterone receptor (mPgr) EMT-6 cell was to explore the tumor immune microenvironment. Furthermore, anti- Lymphocyte-activation gene 3 (LAG3) therapy aimed to investigate whether PR could influence the effectiveness of immune treatments. RESULTS: Overexpression mPgr inhibited tumor growth in vitro, but promoted tumor growth in Balb/c mouse. Flow cytometry showed that the proportion and cytotoxicity of CD8+T cells in tumor of overexpressing mPgr group were significantly reduced. The significant reduction in overexpressing mPgr group was found in the proportions of LAG3+CD8+ T cells and LAG3+ Treg T cells. Anti-LAG3 treatment resulted in reduced tumor growth in EV group mouse rather than in overexpressing mPgr group. Patents derived tumor fragment (PDTF) also showed higher anti-tumor ability of CD3+T cell in patents' tumor with PR <20% after anti-human LAG3 treatment in vitro. CONCLUSIONS: The mPgr promotes tumor growth by downregulating the infiltration and function of cytotoxic cell. LAG3 may be a target of ER-positive breast cancer immunotherapy. The high expression of PR hinders the sensitivity to anti-LAG3 treatment.

ABSTRACT

The median urinary iodine concentration (UIC) of school-aged children has been commonly used as a surrogate to assess iodine status of a population including pregnant women. However, pregnant women have higher iodine requirements than children due to increased production of thyroid hormones. The aim of the study was to evaluate the iodine status of pregnant women and children as well as their household salt iodine concentration (SIC) in Quzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. Eligible pregnant women and children from all six counties of Quzhou in 2021 were recruited into the study. They were asked to complete a socio-demographic questionnaire and provide both a spot urine and a household table salt sample for the determination of UIC and SIC. A total of 629 pregnant women (mean age and gestation weeks of 29.6 years and 21.6 weeks, respectively) and 1273 school-aged children (mean age of 9 years and 49.8% of them were females) were included in the study. The overall median UIC of pregnant women and children in our sample was 127 (82, 193) µg/L and 222 (147, 327) µg/L, respectively, indicating sufficient iodine status in children but a risk of mild-to-moderate iodine deficiency in pregnant women. Distribution of iodine nutrition in children varied significantly according to their sex and age (P < 0.05). The rate of adequately household iodised salt samples (18-33 mg/kg) provided by pregnant women and children was 92.4% and 90.6%, respectively. In conclusion, our results indicated a risk of insufficient iodine status in pregnant population of China, but iodine sufficiency in school-aged children. Our data also suggested that median UIC of children may not be used as a surrogate to assess iodine status in pregnant women.

ABSTRACT

Efficient global optimization is a widely used method for optimizing expensive black-box functions. In this paper, we study the worst-case oracle complexity of the efficient global optimization problem. In contrast to existing kernel-specific results, we derive a unified lower bound for the oracle complexity of efficient global optimization in terms of the metric entropy of a ball in its corresponding reproducing kernel Hilbert space. Moreover, we show that this lower bound nearly matches the upper bound attained by non-adaptive search algorithms, for the commonly used squared exponential kernel and the Matérn kernel with a large smoothness parameter ν. This matching is up to a replacement of d/2 by d and a logarithmic term logRϵ, where d is the dimension of input space, R is the upper bound for the norm of the unknown black-box function, and ϵ is the desired accuracy. That is to say, our lower bound is nearly optimal for these kernels.

ABSTRACT

To enable high performance of all solid-state batteries, a catholyte should demonstrate high ionic conductivity, good compressibility and oxidative stability. Here, a LaCl3-based Na+ superionic conductor (Na1-xZrxLa1-xCl4) with high ionic conductivity of 2.9 × 10-4 S cm-1 (30 °C), good compressibility and high oxidative potential (3.80 V vs. Na2Sn) is prepared via solid state reaction combining mechanochemical method. X-ray diffraction reveals a hexagonal structure (P63/m) of Na1-xZrxLa1-xCl4, with Na+ ions forming a one-dimensional diffusion channel along the c-axis. First-principle calculations combining with X-ray absorption fine structure characterization etc. reveal that the ionic conductivity of Na1-xZrxLa1-xCl4 is mainly determined by the size of Na+-channels and the Na+/La3+ mixing in the one-dimensional diffusion channels. When applied as a catholyte, the NaCrO2||Na0.7Zr0.3La0.7Cl4||Na3PS4||Na2Sn all-solid-state batteries demonstrate an initial capacity of 114 mA h g-1 and 88% retention after 70 cycles at 0.3 C. In addition, a high capacity of 94 mA h g-1 can be maintained at 1 C current density.

ABSTRACT

This comparative cross-sectional study, conducted at Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital, aimed to evaluate the efficacy of tailored wound-centric interventions (TWCI) versus traditional pulmonary rehabilitation (TPR) in enhancing wound healing in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Enrolling 340 patients with confirmed COPD, the study randomly assigned participants to either the TWCI or TPR group for a 12-week programme. The primary outcome measured was the rate of wound healing, with secondary outcomes including changes in pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and quality of life (QoL) scores. The TWCI group received a customized programme integrating standard pulmonary rehabilitation with specific wound care strategies, such as enhanced oxygen therapy, nutritional supplementation, and infection control measures. In contrast, the TPR group underwent a conventional pulmonary rehabilitation programme without targeted wound care interventions. Wound healing rates, PFTs, and QoL scores were assessed at the end of the intervention and 3 months post-intervention. The TWCI group demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in wound healing rates compared with the TPR group. The TWCI group had a 15% higher rate of reduction in wound size, a 10% rise in complete healing rates, and a 20% drop in infection rates (p < 0.05). Specifically, TWCI group exhibited higher rates of wound size reduction, complete healing, and decreased infection rates. Additionally, long-term pulmonary function and overall quality of life improvements were more pronounced in the tailored group, underscoring the benefits of a personalized approach to managing COPD and wound care. The study concluded that integrating wound-specific care strategies with pulmonary rehabilitation significantly enhances health outcomes in COPD patients with wounds. These findings supported the adoption of customized, multidisciplinary care plans, suggesting that tailored interventions can offer a comprehensive solution to the complex needs of COPD patients, potentially redefining best practices in chronic disease management.

ABSTRACT

Genome wide association studies (GWASs) have identified numerous risk loci associated with prostate cancer, yet unraveling their functional significance remains elusive. Leveraging our high-throughput SNPs-seq method, we pinpointed rs4519489 within the multi-ancestry GWAS-discovered 2p25 locus as a potential functional SNP due to its significant allelic differences in protein binding. Here, we conduct a comprehensive analysis of rs4519489 and its associated gene, NOL10, employing diverse cohort data and experimental models. Clinical findings reveal a synergistic effect between rs4519489 genotype and NOL10 expression on prostate cancer prognosis and severity. Through unbiased proteomics screening, we reveal that the risk allele A of rs4519489 exhibits enhanced binding to USF1, a novel oncogenic transcription factor (TF) implicated in prostate cancer progression and prognosis, resulting in elevated NOL10 expression. Furthermore, we elucidate that NOL10 regulates cell cycle pathways, fostering prostate cancer progression. The concurrent expression of NOL10 and USF1 correlates with aggressive prostate cancer characteristics and poorer prognosis. Collectively, our study offers a robust strategy for functional SNP screening and TF identification through high-throughput SNPs-seq and unbiased proteomics, highlighting the rs4519489-USF1-NOL10 regulatory axis as a promising biomarker or therapeutic target for clinical diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.

Umpolung is an old and important concept in organic chemistry, which significantly expands the chemical space and provides unique structures. While, previous research focused on carbonyls or imine derivatives, the umpolung reactivity of polarized C-C σ-bonds still needs to explore. Herein, we report an umpolung reaction of bicyclo[1.1.0]butanes (BCBs) with electron-deficient alkenes to construct the C(sp3)-C(sp3) bond at the electrophilic position of C-C σ-bonds in BCBs without any transition-metal catalysis. Specifically, this transformation relies on the strain-release driven bridging σ-bonds in bicyclo[1.1.0]butanes (BCBs), which are emerged as ene components, providing an efficient and straightforward synthesis route of various functionalized cyclobutenes and conjugated dienes, respectively. The synthetic utilities of this protocol are performed by several transformations. Preliminary mechanistic studies including density functional theory (DFT) calculation support the concerted Alder-ene type process of C-C σ-bond cleavage with hydrogen transfer. This work extends the umpolung reaction to C-C σ-bonds and provides high-value structural motifs.

This paper optimizes the 2D Wadell roundness calculation of particles based on digital image processing methods. An algorithm for grouping corner key points is proposed to distinguish each independent corner. Additionally, the cyclic midpoint filtering method is introduced for corner dealiasing, aiming to mitigate aliasing issues effectively. The relationships between the number of corner pixels (m), the central angle of the corner (α) and the parameter of the dealiasing degree (n) are established. The Krumbein chart and a sandstone thin section image were used as examples to calculate the 2D Wadell roundness. A set of regular shapes is calculated, and the error of this method is discussed. When α ≥ 30°, the maximum error of Wadell roundness for regular shapes is 5.21%; when 12° ≤ α < 30°, the maximum error increases. By applying interpolation to increase the corner pixels to the minimum number (m0) within the allowable range of error, based on the α-m0 relational expression obtained in this study, the error of the corner circle can be minimized. The results indicate that as the value of m increases, the optimal range interval for n also widens. Additionally, a higher value of α leads to a lower dependence on m. The study's results can be applied to dealiasing and shape analysis of complex closed contours.

ABSTRACT

Rubella is a major cause of congenital defects, and the presence of rubella infection in a pregnant woman may lead to fetal death or congenital defects known as congenital rubella syndrome(CRS). Since China has not yet established a national CRS surveillance system, the true incidence cannot be determined. To understand the disease burden and epidemiological characteristics of CRS cases in China, the article reports the first case of CRS in Quzhou, China, and conducts a retrospective analysis of related cases that have been reported in China over the past decade. Because the availability of rubella-containing vaccines (RCV) was not widespread in China before 2008, women of childbearing age born before 2008 are generally unvaccinated against RCV. Due to the lack of routine CRS monitoring and screening, CRS is underreported in China. Vaccination of nonimmune women of childbearing age with RCV and establishing a sensitive and timely case-based CRS surveillance system can accelerate the elimination of rubella and CRS.
