ABSTRACT

It's presented a midline meningioma of anterior level case which preoperative has an importance affectation of the visual acuity and visual field, and postoperative in dynamic is founded the important improvement of visual acuity and visual field. It's discussed visual field topography and atrophy optic pathophysiology. It's a neuro-ophthalmology case example, where the cooperation neurosurgery-ophthalmology permit medical solution and restored in social life of the patient.

ABSTRACT

Contact lenses represent a modern way to correct the refraction errors, the main beneficiaries being the myopes, the anisometropes, the mono- or bilateral aphakias when there was not performed an intraocular lens implantation, the astigmates and the hyperopes; with the natural tint contact lenses the interest will extend over the emmetropic patients. The ophthalmologist has the capacity to settle the indications and contraindications (general and ocular diseases, hygiene deficiencies etc) of wearing contact lenses, as if to prescribe the contact lenses and to teach the patient how to handle and how to take care of his contact lenses. Having the idea to broke a certain restraint which is shown by many ophthalmologists concerning contact lenses, we have stated some practical considerations regarding the method to prescribe contact lenses.

ABSTRACT

The accommodative strabismus is quite frequent. The refraction vices correction can lead to ocular axis parallelism. It is advisable that refraction measurement to be done after prolonged cycloplegia using 1% atropine and spectacles prescription to be made as close as possible to the value of refraction. Prismatic correction is recommended in heterophorias, the prismatic values must be under 6 prismatic diopters for each eye.

ABSTRACT

The authors study the consequences of the ocular traumatisms hospitalised and treated in the Department from the Central Military Hospital in Bucharest, on a group of 1144 patients. This group represent 7.84% from a total of 14,641 patients hospitalised in that period of time. There are also included the patients who suffered ocular traumatisms during the revolution in December 1989.

ABSTRACT

Pseudophakia generates a new pathology, sometimes atypically solved, insufficiently codified yet. The paper presents the experience on quite a large group of cataract-operated patients with implantation of pseudofac, in which cases of ocular hypertonia appeared.

ABSTRACT

The paper reports on the author's own experience in the surgical treatment of the traumatic cataract in children. The authors consider that implantation of the artificial crystalline must not be a general implantation method, in any eye. It has to be made discriminatingly and take into consideration the posttraumatic inflammatory reactions and the local state of each eye.
