ABSTRACT

Antimony (Sb) is known for its severe and extensive toxicity, and earthworms are considered important indicator organisms in soil ecosystems. Therefore, the present study investigated the mechanism of toxicity of the Sb at different concentrations (50, 200 mg/kg) on earthworms using biochemical indicators, pathological sections, as well as metabolomics and transcriptomics analyses. The results showed that as the exposure concentration increased, both the antioxidant system of earthworms, extent of intestinal damage, and their metabolomic characteristics were significantly enhanced. In the 50 and 200 mg/kg Sb treatment group, 30 and 177 significant differentially changed metabolites (DCMs) were identified, respectively, with the most DCMs being down- and up-regulated, respectively. Metabolomics analysis showed that the contents of dl-tryptophan, glutamic acid, glycine, isoleucine, l-methionine, involved in the protein digestion and absorption as well as aminoacyl-tRNA biosynthesis were significantly up-regulated under the 200 mg/kg treatment. At the transcriptional level, Sb mainly affected the immune system, nervous system, amino acid metabolism, endocrine system, and carbohydrate metabolism in earthworms. The integration of transcriptomic and metabolomic data indicated that high doses of Sb regulated the metabolites and genes related to the oxidative phosphorylation pathway in earthworms. Overall, these results revealed global responses beyond the scope of conventional toxicity endpoints and facilitated a more in-depth and comprehensive assessment of the toxic effects of Sb.

ABSTRACT

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Di-Long (Pheretima vulgaris) is a classic animal sourced traditional Chinese medicine. It has been used for the treatment of joint inflammation and arthralgia for over two thousand years due to its effects of Tong-Luo-Zhi-Tong (dredging collaterals and alleviating pain). Our previous study showed that Chinese medicine Di-Long has significant anti-rheumatoid arthritis (RA) effects. AIM OF THE STUDY: Considering Di-Long as a potential source of active compounds with specific anti-RA therapeutic effects, this research was to obtain the anti-RA target-specific active fraction from Di-Long extracts (DL), and to further explore the chemical basis and verify the anti-RA mechanism of this active fraction. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Transcriptomic was applied to obtain the main anti-RA targets of DL on human RA fibroblast-like synoviocytes (FLS) and validated by qPCR. The target-corresponding active fraction was isolated from DL by ethanol precipitation and gel chromatography, and analyzed by nanoliter chromatography-mass spectrometry. Anti-RA effects of this active fraction was investigated by collagen-induced arthritis (CIA) in mice, and anti-RA mechanisms were verified in cocultured model of rat FLS and peripheral blood lymphocytes. RESULTS: We confirmed that CXCL10/CXCR3 was the main anti-RA target of DL. The active fraction - A (2182 - 890 Da) was isolated from DL based on its CXCL10 inhibiting effects in RA-FLS. Fraction A contains 195 peptides (192 were newly discovered), 26 of which might be bioactive and were considered to be the chemical basis of its anti-RA effects. Fraction A significantly ameliorated the joint destruction and overall inflammation in CIA mice, and downregulated CXCR3 expression in mice joint. Fraction A inhibited the chemotaxis of Th-cells in rat peripheral blood lymphocytes towards the TNF-α-induced rat FLS through CXCL10/CXCR3 pathway. CONCLUSIONS: Our work indicated that active fraction from DL containing small peptides exhibits promising therapeutic effects for RA through inhibiting CXCL10/CXCR3 chemotaxis.

ABSTRACT

ETHNOPHARMACOLOGICAL RELEVANCE: Thrombus generation is one of the leading causes of death in human, and vascular endothelial dysfunction is a major contributor to thrombosis. Pheretima guillemi (Michaelsen), a traditional medicinal animal known as "Dilong", has been utilized to cure thrombotic disorders for many years. DPf3, a group of functional proteins extracted from P. guillemi, has been characterized and identified to possess antithrombotic bioactivity via in vitro and ex vivo experiments. AIM OF THE STUDY: This study is aimed to investigate the vascular-protection activity and related mechanism of antithrombotic protein DPf3 purified from Pheretima guillelmi systematically. MATERIALS AND METHODS: The antithrombotic activity and vascular endothelium protection effect of DPf3 was explored in vivo using ponatinib-induced vascular endothelial injury zebrafish thrombus model. Then, (hi) ox-LDL-induced HUVECs was applied to investigate the protection mechanism of DPf3 against the injury of vascular endothelium. In addition, TMT-based proteomics analysis was used to study the biomarkers, biological processes and signal pathways involved in the antithrombotic and vascular protective effects of DPf3 holistically. RESULTS: DPf3 exerted robust in vivo antithrombosis and vascular endothelial protection ability. DPf3 was identified to prevent HUVECs from damage by reducing ROS production, and to reduce monocyte adhesion by decreasing the protein content of adhesion factor VCAM 1. DPf3 was also observed to weaken the migration ability of injured cells and inhibit abnormal angiogenesis. The mechanism of DPf3's antithrombotic and vascular protective activity was mainly related to the regulation of lipid metabolism, energy metabolism, complement and coagulation system, ECM receptor interaction, MAPK signal pathway, etc. CONCLUSIONS: This study demonstrates that DPf3 has strong antithrombotic and endothelial protective effects. The endothelial protective ability and related mechanisms of DPf3 provide a scientific reference for the traditional use of earthworms in the treatment of thrombosis.

ABSTRACT

Pheretima, also called "earthworms", is a well-known animal-derived traditional Chinese medicine that is extensively used in over 50 Chinese patent medicines (CPMs) in Chinese Pharmacopoeia (2020 edition). However, its zoological origin is unclear, both in the herbal market and CPMs. In this study, a strategy for integrating in-house annotated protein databases constructed from close evolutionary relationship-sourced RNA sequencing data from public archival resources and various sequencing algorithms (restricted search, open search, and de novo) was developed to characterize the phenotype of natural peptides of three major commercial species of Pheretima, including Pheretima aspergillum (PA), Pheretima vulgaris (PV), and Metaphire magna (MM). We identified 10,477 natural peptides in the PA, 7,451 in PV, and 5,896 in MM samples. Five specific signature peptides were screened and then validated using synthetic peptides; these demonstrated robust specificity for the authentication of PA, PV, and MM. Finally, all marker peptides were successfully applied to identify the zoological origins of Brain Heart capsules and Xiaohuoluo pills, revealing the inconsistent Pheretima species used in these CPMs. In conclusion, our integrated strategy could be used for the in-depth characterization of natural peptides of other animal-derived traditional Chinese medicines, especially non-model species with poorly annotated protein databases.

ABSTRACT

Antibiotic drug resistance is a global public health issue that demands new and novel therapeutic molecules. To develop new agents, animal secretions or products are used as an alternative agent to overcome this problem. In this study, earthworm (Pheretima posthuma) coelomic fluid (PCF), and body paste (PBP) were used to analyze their effects as antibiofilm agents against four bacterial isolates MH1 (Pseudomonas aeruginosa MT448672), MH2 (Escherichia coli MT448673), MH3 (Staphylococcus aureus MT448675), and MH4 (Klebsiella pneumoniae MT448676). Coelomic fluid extraction and body paste formation were followed by minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs), biofilm formation time kinetics, and an antibiofilm assay, using heat and cold shock, sunlight exposure auto-digestion, and test tube methods. The results showed that the MIC values of PCF and PBP against S. aureus, P. aeruginosa, K. pneumoniae, and E. coli bacterial isolates ranged from 50 to 100 µg/mL, while, the results related to biofilm formation for P. aeruginosa, S. aureus, and K. pneumoniae strains were observed to be highly significantly increased (p < 0.005) after 72 h. E. coli produced a significant (p < 0.004) amount of biofilm after 48 h. Following time kinetics, the antibiofilm activity of PCF and PBP was tested at different concentrations (i.e., 25-200 µg/mL) against the aforementioned four strains (MH1-MH4). The findings of this study revealed that both PBP (5.61 ± 1.0%) and PCF (5.23 ± 1.5%) at the lowest concentration (25 µg/mL) showed non-significant (p > 0.05) antibiofilm activity against all the selected strains (MH1-MH4). At 50 µg/mL concentration, both PCF and PBP showed significant (p < 0.05) biofilm inhibition (<40%) for all isolates. Further, the biofilm inhibitory potential was also found to be more significant (p < 0.01) at 100 µg/mL of PCF and PBP, while it showed highly significant (p < 0.001) biofilm inhibition at 150 and 200 µg/mL concentrations. Moreover, more than 90% biofilm inhibition was observed at 200 µg/mL of PCF, while in the case of the PBP, <96% biofilm reduction (i.e., 100%) was also observed by all selected strains at 200 µg/mL. In conclusion, earthworm body fluid and paste have biologically active components that inhibit biofilm formation by various pathogenic bacterial strains. For future investigations, there is a need for further study to explore the potential bioactive components and investigate in depth their molecular mechanisms from a pharmaceutical perspective for effective clinical utilization.

Methods According to the comprehensive technical requirements of GAP standardized production of Chinese herbal medicine, the key technologies of standardized cultivation and processing were studied in Sangxin Town, Chongming District, Shanghai. Results The production area environment, variety characteristics, breeding technology, pest control, harvesting and processing, packaging, storage and transportation, quality monitoring and other technical links of Shanghai Pheretima were clearly defined and standardized. Conclusion This study provides practical basis for the standardization and modernization quality management of Shanghai Pheretima.

To investigate the role of cow dung in soil reclamation and bio assimilation along with bio accumulation of heavy metals in earthworm (P. posthuma) (N=900) earthworms were used and treatment groups of CD-soil mixture of different proportion of cow dung were designed. Nonlethal doses of lead acetate and cadmium chloride were added in treatment groups. Mature P. posthuma were released in each experimental pot maintaining the favorable conditions. The pH, carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, exchangeable cations, and heavy metal level of each mixture was evaluated. The results indicated that bio-assimilation of Pb and Cd by P. posthuma were significantly (P ˂ 0.01) higher in different soil-CD treatments compared to control. Highest bio-assimilation of both metals was observed in T¹ of both groups (Pb = 563.8 mg/kg and Cd = 42.95 mg/kg). The contents of both metals were significantly (P ˂ 0.05) lowered in casting. The nutrient concentration in the final castings of all soil-CD treatments were also equally transformed from less or insoluble to more soluble and available for plants, except for carbon level which increased with CD proportion. It is concluded that cow dung as organic matter has a positive effect on soil reclamation and bio-assimilation of metals by P. posthuma.

ABSTRACT

Pheretima vulgaris has been prescribed for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases in China for several hundred years in the form of dried powder in the clinic. However, the peptides with the potential antithrombotic activity of this source have never been reported. The total active proteins from Pheretima vulgaris were hydrolyzed by eight different commercial proteases and the alcalase hydrolysate showed the strongest thrombolytic activity. Four original thrombolytic peptides were isolated and characterized using bioactivity-directed fractionation of the active hydrolysate. The amino acid sequences were identified as HEPLPEP (m/z 818.40076), EYPLPEP (m/z 844.39648), LGEPSVP (m/z 698.39648), and LLAPP (m/z 510.28043) by nanoLC-ESI-Orbitrap mass spectrometry with PEAKS software. HEPLPEP and EYPLPEP, containing the common -PLPEP residue, showed superior thrombolytic activity in plasmin assay and fibrinogen-thrombin time assay. This research confirmed that Pheretima vulgaris was a potential source of active peptides with thrombolytic activities and provided novel candidates for the thrombolytic agents. PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Thrombosis has become the leading cause of mortality as it was the common underlying pathology of cardiovascular diseases, such as ischemic heart disease, and stroke. The demand for thrombolytics has increased gradually as the incidence trends of thrombosis-related diseases raise with the aging of the population. Four novel thrombolytic peptides were characterized from Pheretima vulgaris proteins hydrolysates, among which HEPLPEP and EYPLPEP could prevent the formation of thrombus and degrade existing thrombus in vitro. These peptides are promising to be meritorious templates for developing thrombolytic agents. The structure-function relationship of peptides resulting from the presence of specific residues in these sequences may contribute to extending the knowledge about their thrombolytic activity, which may be useful in designing novel thrombolytic agents. The present research based on a bioactivity-directed isolation strategy could also be applied to other animal-derived traditional Chinese medicines with proteins or peptides as their function basis.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: To develop a convenient method for rapid purification of fresh Pheretima proteins and assess the inhibitory effect of these proteins against pulmonary fibrosis. METHODS: The crude extract of fresh Pheretima was obtained by freeze-drying method and then purified by size exclusion chromatography. The composition of the purified proteins was analyzed by mass spectrometry. MRC-5 cells were treated with 5 ng/mL TGF-ß1 alone (model group) or in combination with SB431542 (2 µmol/L) or the purified proteins (13.125 µg/mL), and the cytotoxicity of purified proteins and their inhibitory effects on cell proliferation were detected with CCK8 assay. Flow cytometry was used to detect the changes in cell apoptosis, and the cellular expressions of α-SMA, Vimentin, E-cadherin, collagen I, Smad2/3 and P-Smad2/3 were detected using RT-PCR and Western blotting. In the animal experiment, adult male C57BL/6 mice were subjected to intratracheal instillation of bleomycin followed by treatment with the purified proteins (5 mg/mL) for 21 days, after which HE and Masson staining was used to observe the pathological changes in the lung tissue of the mice. RESULTS: We successfully obtained purified proteins from fresh Pheretima protein by size exclusion chromatography. Treatment with the purified proteins significantly inhibited TGF-ß1-induced proliferation of MRC-5 cells (P < 0.01), reduced the cellular expressions of α-SMA, Vimentin and collagen I (P < 0.001 or P < 0.01), increased the expression of E-cadherin (P < 0.01), and inhibited the expressions of Smad2/3 and P-Smad2/3 (P < 0.001 or P < 0.01). In male C57BL/6 mice models of bleomycin-induced pulmonary fibrosis, treatment with the purified proteins obviously reduced the number of inflammatory cells and fibrotic area in the lungs. CONCLUSION: The purified proteins from fresh Pheretima obtained by size exclusion chromatography can inhibit pulmonary fibrosis in mice by regulating the TGF-ß/ Smad pathway.

ABSTRACT

Quality control of animal-derived traditional Chinese medicines has improved dramatically as proteomics research advanced in the past few decades. However, it remains challenging to identify quality attributes with routine proteomics approaches since protein with fibrinolytic activity is rarely reported in pheretima, a typical animal-derived traditional medicine. A novel strategy based on bioinformatics combined with parallel reaction monitoring (PRM) was developed here to rapidly discover the marker peptides associated with a fibrinolytic effect. Potential marker peptides were found by lumbrokinase sequences' alignment and in silico digestion. The fibrinogen zymography was used to visually identify fibrinolytic proteins in pheretima. As a result, it was found that the fibrinolytic activity varied among different portions of pheretima. Fibrinolytic proteins were distributed regionally in the anterior and anterior-mid portion and there was no significant fibrinogenolytic activity observed in the mid-posterior and posterior portion. Finally, PRM experiments were deployed to validate and quantify selected marker peptides and a total of 11 peptides were identified as marker peptides, which could be potentially used in quality control of pheretima. This strategy provides a robust workflow to benefit the quality control of other animal-derived traditional medicines.

ABSTRACT

Chinese medicine Di-Long, the dried body of Pheretima vulgaris (Chen) has been used for the treatment of joint inflammation, arthralgia and numbness of limbs for many years. This study was to investigate the anti-rheumatoid arthritis (RA) effects of Di-Long and to explore its possible mechanisms. The identification and quantification of representative components in Di-Long extracts (DL) were carried out by HPLC analysis. The anti-RA effects and mechanisms of DL were studied in CIA mice, RAW 264.7 macrophages and spleen T lymphocytes. The Th1/Th2 cell ratio in CIA mice spleens were determined by Flow cytometry. The cytokine levels were determined by ELISA method. The expressions of p-NF-κB p65 in ankle joints of CIA mice were detected by Immunohistochemistry analysis. The phosphorylation of NF-κB signaling pathway in RAW 264.7 macrophages and expressions of T-bet and GATA-3 in CIA mice spleens were determined by Western blots. The treatment with DL significantly decreased the paw thickness, arthritis scores and inflammatory cells infiltration in CIA mice. The TNF-α, IL-6 concentrations in both mice serum and macrophages secretion were markedly reduced with the treatment of DL, as well as the phosphorylation of NF-κB pathway. DL inhibited the expressions of T-bet and GATA-3 and decreased Th1/Th2 cells ratio in CIA mice spleens. DL reduced IFN-γ, IL-2 levels in mice serum and spleen T lymphocytes, and increased IL-4 levels in CIA mice serum. Chinese medicine Di-Long have significant anti-RA effects. The mechanisms might be inhibiting the activation of NF-κB signaling pathway and regulating the balance of Th1/Th2 cells.

Background: Pheretima aspergillum (common name: Earthworm, Chinese name: dilong) has been used in traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years. Recently, a few scientific studies have investigated the antifibrotic effects of Dilong extract (DE) and produced controversial results. We conducted a meta-analysis to make an informed decision on the antifibrotic effects of Dilong extract. Methods: The studies on antifibrotic effects of Dilong extract published until July 2022 in the scientific databases [PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), VIP database for Chinese Technical Periodicals, SinoMed and WanFang database] were reviewed. The RevMan 5.4.1 software was used for standardized mean difference (SMD) analysis. Two researchers independently reviewed all the studies, and their quality was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results: A total of 325 studies were found in the scientific databases; however, only 13 studies met the criteria for analysis. Dilong extract treatment was associated with antifibrotic effects via inhibiting the transforming growth factor beta 1 (TGF-ß1, SMD = -3.16, 95% CI: -4.18, -2.14, p < .00001) and alpha-smooth muscle actin (α-SMA: SMD = -2.57, 95% CI: -3.47, -1.66, p < .00001). Conclusion: Dilong extract effectively reduces tissue fibrosis; thus, further scientific studies should be conducted to investigate and develop it for clinical use. OBJECTIVE@#To develop a convenient method for rapid purification of fresh Pheretima proteins and assess the inhibitory effect of these proteins against pulmonary fibrosis.@*METHODS@#The crude extract of fresh Pheretima was obtained by freeze-drying method and then purified by size exclusion chromatography. The composition of the purified proteins was analyzed by mass spectrometry. MRC-5 cells were treated with 5 ng/mL TGF-β1 alone (model group) or in combination with SB431542 (2 μmol/L) or the purified proteins (13.125 μg/mL), and the cytotoxicity of purified proteins and their inhibitory effects on cell proliferation were detected with CCK8 assay. ABSTRACT

By consulting ancient herbal medicines and medical books, combined with modern documents and field investigations, the textual research of Pheretima has been conducted to verify the name, origin, producing area, quality, harvesting and processing changes, and sort out the relationship of origin between ancient and modern times, so as to provide reference and basis for the development and utilization of the related famous classical formulas. Through textual research, it is known that there are many aliases for Pheretima, the rectification of name was "Qiuyin" or "Baijing Qiuyin" in materia medica books. In the Song dynasty and later prescription books, the prescription name is mostly Dilong. From the beginning of Yaowu Chuchanbian (《药物出产辨》), Dilong was used as the rectification of name. It is widely distributed in our country, which is produced all over the country and mostly wild. According to ancient Pheretima with "Baijing Dilong", "Jingbai Shenzi" and "Datiao" as the principles of medicine, combined with historical origin, producing area and easy access, it is confirmed that Pheretima used in ancient times to the present is mainly Pheretima aspergillum, and it also has many other Qiuyin as Pheretima for medicinal purposes. Chinese Pharmacopoeia has unified the origin of the Pheretima since the 1995 edition based on historical origins and actual harvesting conditions. The medicinal material processed by P. aspergillum was called Guangdilong, and the medicinal materials processed by P. vulgaris, P. guillelmi and P. pectinifera were called Hudilong. Since then, all the herbal books published in the future are in line with Chinese Pharmacopoeia that was implemented at that time. The authentic production areas of Guangdilong are Guangdong and Guangxi, and the authentic production areas of Hudilong is Jiangsu, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Anhui. The Guangdilong produced in Guangdong and Guangxi has the best quality. After harvesting, remove the soil and offal, wash and dry. Clinically cut into sections for medicine, or prepare medicine according to prescription. The Pheretima in ancient used "Baijing Dilong", "Jingbai Shenzi" and "Datiao" as the mainstream quality evaluation standards. According to historical origins, P. aspergillum should be the main source of Pheretima, and its quality is better than other species. Therefore, it is recommended that Pheretima in Shentong Zhuyutang use P. aspergillum, which is produced in Guangdong, Guangxi and other places. After harvest, the abdomen was opened in time to remove the viscera and sediment, washed and dried.

Pheretima with various activities is a commonly used animal-derived traditional medicine in Asia countries. However, almost half of them are non-pharmacopoeia species in the market due to the similar morphological characteristics between medicinal and non-medicinal species. This study aims to establish an effective method based on signature peptides for species authentication of three main commercial Pheretima, including two major Pheretima species (Amynthas aspergillum, Metaphire vulgaris) and one main adulteration (Metaphire magna). Firstly, the species of 52 batches of commercial Pheretima were authenticated based on DNA barcodes. Secondly, proteomic analysis was performed for protein characterization of three main commercial Pheretima. Furthermore, their signature peptides were screened and validated using ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode. Moreover, a simplified sample processing method was developed. Finally, large quantities of commercial Pheretima samples were analyzed for further verifying the feasibility of the signature peptides-based method. The result showed that the established method had a great application potential for authenticity identification of commercial Pheretima. SIGNIFICANCE: The authenticity assessment of medicinal materials is a main issue in the quality control process as deceptive practices could imply severe health risks. In this study, a rapid and simple method based on signature peptides was established for species authentication of three main commercial Pheretima, which can be an effective alternative to complex DNA barcoding and difficult morphological identification, and provided a reference for improvement of Pheretima quality standards.

Pheretima has been used as an animal-derived traditional Chinese medicine for thousands of years in Asian countries due to its multi-activities. However, more than half of the commercial Pheretima are adulterants according to the previous research. Besides, the standards of Pheretima are still inadequate in the identification of Pheretima species. In this study, an amino acids (AAs) analytical method established based on the ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (UPLC-QqQ-MS) in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode through derivatization with 9-fluorenylmethoxycarbonyl chloride (Fmoc-Cl) was used for qualitative and quantitative analysis of the total AAs of three main commercial Pheretima (two major Pheretima species, Amynthas aspergillum, Metaphire vulgaris, and one main counterfeit, M. magna). As a result, 16 AAs were detected and quantitated in their hydrolyzed samples. Then, multivariate statistical analysis was applied to distinguish the three commercial Pheretima based on their AAs level. Finally, four AAs (Thr, Glu, Asp, and Arg) were screened as species-differential AAs, which may be used as chemical markers to distinguish the three commercial Pheretima. This study deeply described the outline of AAs in Pheretima and offered a good reference for its species authentication.

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES: Earthworms coexist with various pathogenic microorganisms; thus, their immunity mechanisms have developed through a long process of adaptation, including through endogenous bacterial symbionts. This study aims to identify earthworm endosymbiont bacteria compounds and their antibacterial activity through an in vitro approach supported by an in silico approach. MATERIALS AND METHODS: This research was conducted using the in vitro inhibition test through agar diffusion and the in silico test using molecular docking applications, namely, PyRx and Way2Drugs Prediction of Activity Spectra for Substances (PASS). RESULTS: The in vitro results showed a potent inhibition activity with a clear zone diameter of 21.75 and 15.5 mm for Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella Typhi, respectively. These results are supported by chromatography and in silico tests, which showed that several compounds in endosymbiotic bacteria, cyclo (phenylalanyl-prolyl) and sedanolide, have high binding affinity values with several antibiotic-related target proteins in both pathogenic bacteria. Cyclo (phenylalanyl-prolyl) has the highest binding affinity of -6.0 to dihydropteroate synthase, -8.2 to topoisomerase, and -8.2 to the outer membrane, whereas sedanolide has the highest binding affinity to DNA gyrase with approximately -7.3. This antibiotic activity was also clarified through the Way2Drugs PASS application. CONCLUSION: Ten active compounds of endosymbiont bacteria, Cyclo (phenylalanyl-prolyl) and sedanolide were potential candidates for antibacterial compounds based on the inhibition test of the agar diffusion method and the results of reverse docking and Way2Drugs PASS.
