ABSTRACT

The anaerobic acid production experiments were conducted with the pretreated kitchen waste under pH adjustment. The results showed that pH 8 was considered to be the most suitable condition for acid production, especially for the formation of acetic acid and propionic acid. The average value of total volatile fatty acid at pH 8 was 8814 mg COD/L, 1.5 times of that under blank condition. The average yield of acetic acid and propionic acid was 3302 mg COD/L and 2891 mg COD/L, respectively. The activities of key functional enzymes such as phosphotransacetylase, acetokinase, oxaloacetate transcarboxylase and succinyl-coA transferase were all enhanced. To further explore the regulatory mechanisms within the system, the distribution of microorganisms at different levels in the fermentation system was obtained by microbial sequencing, results indicating that the relative abundances of Clostridiales, Bacteroidales, Chloroflexi, Clostridium, Bacteroidetes and Propionibacteriales, which were great contributors for the hydrolysis and acidification, increased rapidly at pH 8 compared with the blank group. Besides, the proportion of genes encoding key enzymes was generally increased, which further verified the mechanism of hydrolytic acidification and acetic acid production of organic matter under pH regulation.

ABSTRACT

En este estudio transversal se investiga la asociación entre los principales síntomas del Trastorno bipolar (TB) y las dificultades asociadas a las estrategias de regulación emocional (ERE) adaptativas y desadaptativas. Además, este estudio examina los efectos mediadores de las ERE con el mindfulness rasgo y el TB. Método. Veinticuatro adultos con TB completaron la Escala de Conciencia de Atención Plena (MAAS), el Inventario de Depresión de Beck (BDI-II), la Escala de Autoevaluación de Manía de Altman (ARSM), el Inventario de Ansiedad Rasgo (STAI-R), y el Cuestionario de Regulación Emocional Cognitiva (CERQ). Resultados. El análisis de regresión múltiple mostró cómo la depresión se relacionaba significativa y positivamente con la autoculpabilización, mientras que la ansiedad rasgo estaba positivamente asociada con la autoculpabilización y el catastrofismo. En segundo lugar, el análisis de mediación mostró un efecto de mediación significativo para la autoculpabilidad en la relación entre mindfulness y depresión (a*b = -.15; ICB 95% [-.36, -.03]) y entre mindfulness y ansiedad rasgo (a*b = -.09; ICB 95% [-.27, -.01]). Conclusiones. Nuestros resultados informan del papel de la auto-culpabilidad y el catastrofismo en el TB y de cómo éstas podrían mediar significativamente entre el mindfulness rasgo y el TB. Estos resultados sugieren que una práctica de meditación enfocada en el catastrofismo y la autoculpabilidad puede ser especialmente útil para reducir los síntomas en los pacientes bipolares.(AU)


This cross-sectional study investigates the association between the main symptoms of Bipolar disorder (BD) and emotional regulation dif-ficulties in adaptive and maladaptive emotional regulation strategies (ERS). In addition, this study examines the possible mediating effects of ERS with dispositional mindfulnessand bipolar symptoms. Method.Twenty-four adults diagnosed with BD completed the Mindful Attention Awareness Scale (MAAS), the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI-II), the Altman Mania Self-Assessment Scale (ARSM), the Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI-R), and the Cognitive Emotional Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ). Results. First, mul-tiple regression analysis showed how depression was significantly positively related to self-blame, whereas trait anxietywas positively associated with self-blame and catastrophizing. Second, the results of the mediation analy-sis have shown a significant mediation effect for the self-blamein the rela-tionship between mindfulnessand depression (a*b = -.15; BCI 95% [-.36, -.03]) and between mindfulnessand trait anxiety (a*b = -.09; BCI 95% [-.27, -.01]). Conclusions. Our results report the role of self-blame and catastrophiz-ing in BD and how these might significantly mediate between dispositional mindfulness and symptoms of depression and anxiety. These results suggest that a meditation practice focused on reducing catastrophizing and self-blame may be especially helpful for symptoms of depression and anxiety in bipolar patients.(AU)

ABSTRACT

Stress-induced increases in cortisol can stimulate or inhibit brain cell proliferation, but the mechanisms behind these opposing effects are unknown. We tested the hypothesis that 11ß-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 (Hsd11b2), a glucocorticoid-inactivating enzyme expressed in neurogenic regions of the adult zebrafish brain, mitigates cortisol-induced changes to brain cell proliferation using one of three stress regimes: a single 1-min air exposure (acute stress), two air exposures spaced 24 h apart (repeat acute stress), or social subordination (chronic stress). Plasma cortisol was significantly elevated 15 min after air exposure and recovered within 24 h after acute and repeat acute stress, whereas subordinate fish exhibited significant and sustained elevations relative to dominant fish for 24 h. Following acute stress, brain hsd11b2 transcript abundance was significantly lower 24 h after a single air exposure but was unchanged by repeat acute stress or social subordination. A sustained increase in brain Hsd11b2 protein levels occurred after acute stress, but not after repeat or chronic stress. Following acute and repeat acute stress, brain pcna transcript abundance exhibited a prolonged elevation, but was unaffected by social subordination. Interestingly, the number of telencephalic BrdU+ cells increased in fish after a single air exposure but was unchanged by repeat acute stress. Following acute and repeat acute stress, fish expressed lower brain gr and mr transcript abundance while subordinate fish exhibited no changes. Taken together, these results demonstrate stressor-specific regulation of Hsd11b2 in the zebrafish brain that could modulate rates of cortisol catabolism contributing to observed differences in brain cell proliferation.

ABSTRACT

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as a significant tool in the realm of vaccinology, offering novel approaches to vaccine development. This study investigates the potential of miRNAs in the development of advanced vaccines, with an emphasis on how they regulate immune response and control viral replication. We go over the molecular features of miRNAs, such as their capacity to direct post-transcriptional regulation toward mRNAs, hence regulating the expression of genes in diverse tissues and cells. This property is harnessed to develop live attenuated vaccines that are tissue-specific, enhancing safety and immunogenicity. The review highlights recent advancements in using miRNA-targeted vaccines against viruses like influenza, poliovirus, and tick-borne encephalitis virus, demonstrating their attenuated replication in specific tissues while retaining immunogenicity. We also explored the function of miRNAs in the biology of cancer, highlighting their potential to develop cancer vaccines through targeting miRNAs that are overexpressed in tumor cells. The difficulties in developing miRNA vaccines are also covered in this work, including delivery, stability, off-target effects, and the requirement for individualized cancer treatment plans. We wrap off by discussing the potential of miRNA vaccines and highlighting how they will influence the development of vaccination techniques for cancer and infectious diseases in the future.

ABSTRACT

Family environment, emotion regulation and biological sensitivity have been shown to be associated with adolescents' externalizing problem behaviours. However, findings regarding respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) reactivity are mixed and sometimes contradictory. This study aims to clarify the roles of RSA reactivity and anger regulation in the relationship between negative family expressiveness (NFE) and adolescents' externalizing behaviour by measuring RSA reactivity during the Parent-Adolescent Interaction Task (PAIT), designed to simulate a naturalistic negative family environment. In this study, 125 Chinese adolescents (M = 13.95 years, SD = 0.95; 48% male) completed questionnaires assessing negative family expressiveness, anger regulation and externalizing problems. Additionally, we collected electrocardiogram and respiration data during both the resting period and a 10-min PAIT. Results showed that anger regulation mediated the relationship between NFE and externalizing problem behaviours. Moreover, adolescents' RSA reactivity moderated this mediation effect, even after controlling for baseline RSA. Greater RSA suppression potentially indicated greater susceptibility, with the relationship between NFE and anger regulation being more pronounced in adolescents with greater RSA suppression compared to those with lesser RSA suppression. These findings highlight the importance of considering physiological systems, especially within the context of adverse family environments, when studying the relationships with externalizing problems.

ABSTRACT

The role of life events has not been extensively studied in the context of tinnitus. There is, however, evidence about the psychological impact of tinnitus and about the influence of psychological processes as mediators of the tinnitus experience. On the basis of this evidence, the possibility that stressful life events can act as a trigger for tinnitus is discussed; although the evidence is fragmentary and indirect, the possibility cannot be discounted. It is argued that the onset of tinnitus and the associated clinical encounters can constitute an acute stressful life event, and the ongoing experience of tinnitus can be regarded as a chronic stressful life event. Interactions between ongoing tinnitus and other life events are discussed. Possible mechanisms in terms of stress influencing predictive processing and signal detection judgments are considered.

Rubisco activity is highly regulated and frequently limits carbon assimilation in crop plants. In the chloroplast, various metabolites can inhibit or modulate Rubisco activity by binding to its catalytic or allosteric sites, but this regulation is complex and still poorly understood. Using rice Rubisco, we characterised the impact of various chloroplast metabolites which could interact with Rubisco and modulate its activity, including photorespiratory intermediates, carbohydrates, amino acids; as well as specific sugar-phosphates known to inhibit Rubisco activity - CABP (2-carboxy-D-arabinitol 1,5-bisphosphate) and CA1P (2-carboxy-D-arabinitol 1-phosphate) through in vitro enzymatic assays and molecular docking analysis. Most metabolites did not directly affect Rubisco in vitro activity under both saturating and limiting concentrations of Rubisco substrates, CO2 and RuBP (ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate). As expected, Rubisco activity was strongly inhibited in the presence of CABP and CA1P. High physiologically relevant concentrations of the carboxylation product 3-PGA (3-phosphoglyceric acid) decreased Rubisco activity by up to 30%. High concentrations of the photosynthetically derived hexose phosphates fructose 6-phosphate (F6P) and glucose 6-phosphate (G6P) slightly reduced Rubisco activity under limiting CO2 and RuBP concentrations. Biochemical measurements of the apparent Vmax and Km for CO2 and RuBP (at atmospheric O2 concentration) and docking interactions analysis suggest that CABP/CA1P and 3-PGA inhibit Rubisco activity by binding tightly and loosely, respectively, to its catalytic sites (i.e., competing with the substrate RuBP). These findings will aid the design and biochemical modelling of new strategies to improve the regulation of Rubisco activity and enhance the efficiency and sustainability of carbon assimilation in rice.

ABSTRACT

Mitotic centromere-associated kinesin (MCAK) motor protein is a typical member of the kinesin-13 family, which can depolymerize microtubules from both plus and minus ends. A critical issue for the MCAK motor is how it performs the depolymerase activity. To address the issue, the pathway of the MCAK motor moving on microtubules and depolymerizing the microtubules is presented here. On the basis of the pathway, the dynamics of both the wild-type and mutant MCAK motors is studied theoretically, which include the full-length MCAK, the full-length MCAK with mutations in the α4-helix of the motor domain, the mutant full-length MCAK with a neutralized neck, the monomeric MCAK and the mutant monomeric MCAK with a neutralized neck. The studies show that a single dimeric MCAK motor can depolymerize microtubules in a processive manner, with either one tubulin or two tubulins being removed per times. The theoretical results are in agreement with the available experimental data. Moreover, predicted results are provided.

ABSTRACT

As one of the least energy-efficient components in buildings, transparent building envelopes are responsible for approximately 60% of the total energy losses. Although controlling solar transmittance through electrochromic modulation is an effective method for temperature management in these structures, a dynamic control strategy for solar light on curved transparent building envelopes is still lacking. In this study, we introduce a dual-mode flexible electrochromic device based on reversible silver deposition for curved transparent building envelopes. The device operates by reversibly depositing and dissolving silver on a flexible polyethylene terephthalate-indium tin oxide (PET-ITO) substrate, controlled through the application and removal of pulsed voltage. This mechanism enables rapid switching between radiative cooling and solar heating modes, leading to modulation of solar reflectance from 89.1% to 15.7% and solar transmittance from 0.02% to 72.9%. Under approximately 700 W/m2 of solar irradiance, the device achieves an average temperature reduction of 1.6 °C (with a maximum reduction of 4.3 °C) compared to ambient temperature in radiative cooling mode. In solar heating mode, the device achieves an average temperature increase of 17.1 °C (with a maximum increment of 23.7 °C) compared to ambient temperature. Simulation results show that the dual-mode flexible electrochromic device could offer all-season thermal regulation for curved transparent building envelopes and achieve a maximum of over 50% annual HVAC energy savings.

TAD boundaries are genomic elements that separate biological processes in neighboring domains by blocking DNA loops that are formed through Cohesin-mediated loop extrusion. Most TAD boundaries consist of arrays of binding sites for the CTCF protein, whose interaction with the Cohesin complex blocks loop extrusion. TAD boundaries are not fully impermeable though and allow a limited amount of inter-TAD loop formation. Based on the reanalysis of Nano-C data, a multicontact Chromosome Conformation Capture assay, we propose a model whereby clustered CTCF binding sites promote the successive stalling of Cohesin and subsequent dissociation from the chromatin. A fraction of Cohesin nonetheless achieves boundary read-through. Due to a constant rate of Cohesin dissociation elsewhere in the genome, the maximum length of inter-TAD loops is restricted though. We speculate that the DNA-encoded organization of stalling sites regulates TAD boundary permeability and discuss implications for enhancer-promoter loop formation and other genomic processes.

Exposure to particulate matter (PM) can cause airway inflammation and worsen various airway diseases. However, the underlying molecular mechanism by which PM triggers airway inflammation has not been completely elucidated, and effective interventions are lacking. Our study revealed that PM exposure increased the expression of histone deacetylase 9 (HDAC9) in human bronchial epithelial cells and mouse airway epithelium through the METTL3/m6A methylation/IGF2BP3 pathway. Functional assays showed that HDAC9 upregulation promoted PM-induced airway inflammation and activation of MAPK signaling pathway in vitro and in vivo. Mechanistically, HDAC9 modulated the deacetylation of histone 4 acetylation at K12 (H4K12) in the promoter region of dual specificity phosphatase 9 (DUSP9) to repress the expression of DUSP9 and resulting in the activation of MAPK signaling pathway, thereby promoting PM-induced airway inflammation. Additionally, HDAC9 bound to MEF2A to weaken its anti-inflammatory effect on PM-induced airway inflammation. Then, we developed a novel inhaled lipid nanoparticle system for delivering HDAC9 siRNA to the airway, offering an effective treatment for PM-induced airway inflammation. Collectively, we elucidated the crucial regulatory mechanism of HDAC9 in PM-induced airway inflammation and introduced an inhaled therapeutic approach targeting HDAC9. These findings contribute to alleviating the burden of various airway diseases caused by PM exposure.

Chloroplast development underpins plant growth, by facilitating not only photosynthesis but also other essential biochemical processes. Nonetheless, the regulatory mechanisms and functional components of chloroplast development remain largely uncharacterized due to their complexity. In our study, we identified a plastid-targeted gene, ATYCO/RP8/CDB1, as a critical factor in early chloroplast development in Arabidopsis thaliana. YCO knock-out mutant (yco) exhibited a seedling-lethal, albino phenotype, resulting from dysfunctional chloroplasts lacking thylakoid membranes. Conversely, YCO knock-down mutants produced a chlorophyll-deficient cotyledon and normal leaves when supplemented with sucrose. Transcription analysis also revealed that YCO deficiency could be partially compensated by sucrose supplementation, and that YCO played different roles in the cotyledons and the true leaves. In YCO knock-down mutants, the transcript levels of plastid-encoded RNA polymerase (PEP)-dependent genes and nuclear-encoded photosynthetic genes, as well as the accumulation of photosynthetic proteins, were significantly reduced in the cotyledons. Moreover, the chlorophyll-deficient phenotype in YCO knock-down line can be effectively suppressed by inhibition of PSI cyclic electron transport activity, implying an interaction between YCO and PSI cyclic electron transport. Taken together, our findings de underscore the vital role of YCO in early chloroplast development and photosynthesis.

ABSTRACT

Quorum sensing (QS) plays an important role in the social behavior of microbial communities. Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a biological process using anaerobic microorganisms to degrade organic macromolecules into small molecules for biogas and biofertilizer production. In AD, the QS signaling molecule N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) induces bacterial metabolism, improving AD process efficiency. However, there are fewer systematic reports about QS regulation of microbial behavior in AD. In this report, the effects of signaling molecules on extracellular polymer secretion, biofilm formation, granulation of granular sludge and bacterial metabolism in AD were investigated in detail. At present, the regulation behavior of QS on AD is a group phenomenon, and there are few in-depth studies on the regulation pathway. Therefore, we conducted an in-depth analysis of the pure culture system, granular sludge and reactor in the AD. Then we pointed out that the future application potential of QS in the AD may be combined with quorum quenching (QQ) and omics technology, which is of great significance for the future application of AD.

Single-atom catalysts (SACs) have been increasingly explored in lithium-sulfur (Li-S) batteries to address the issues of severe polysulfide shuttle effects and sluggish redox kinetics. However, the structure-activity relationship between single-atom coordination structures and the performance of Li-S batteries remain unclear. In this study, a P, S co-coordination asymmetric configuration of single atoms is designed to enhance the catalytic activity of Co central atoms and promote d-p orbital hybridization between Co and S atoms, thereby limiting polysulfides and accelerating the bidirectional redox process of sulfur. The well-designed SACs enable Li-S batteries to demonstrate an ultralow capacity fading rate of 0.027% per cycle after 2000 cycles at a high rate of 5 C. Furthermore, they display excellent rate performance with a capacity of 619 mAh g-1 at an ultrahigh rate of 10 C due to the efficient catalysis of CoSA-N3PS. Importantly, the assembled pouch cell still retains a high discharge capacity of 660 mAh g-1 after 100 cycles at 0.2 C and provides a high areal capacity of 4.4 mAh cm-2 even with a high sulfur loading of 6 mg cm-2. This work demonstrates that regulating the coordination environment of SACs is of great significance for achieving state-of-the-art Li-S batteries.

Background: Asthma and allergic diseases are common chronic non-communicable conditions that can negatively impact the quality of life of patients. Psychological factors play a role in both the onset and progression of these conditions. The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between handedness and emotion regulation and cognitive emotion regulation strategies in patients with asthma and allergies in Isfahan, central Iran. Methods: We employed a causal-comparative research design. The study population consisted of all patients visiting Asthma and Allergy Clinic in Isfahan. One hundred participants were selected through probability sampling. Data were collected using the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies Questionnaire, and were analyzed using univariate analysis of variance (ANOVA). Results: Cognitive emotion regulation was significantly different between right-handed and left-handed patients with asthma and allergies (P=0.0001). A significant difference was also observed between the two groups in their emotion regulation strategies (P=0.031). The rate of positive and negative cognitive regulation strategies was higher in left-handed individuals with asthma and allergies, compared to right-handed individuals. Conclusion: Overall, handedness has a significant impact on the behavior and mental health of patients suffering from asthma and allergies. Therefore, handedness should be taken into consideration in interventions for emotion regulation.

Background: Poor self-control is a strong correlate of criminal propensity. It is conceptualized and operationalized differently in criminology than in other scientific traditions. Aims: (1) To verify the dimensionality of the criminological Grasmick self-control items, other self-regulation items and morality ones. (2) To re-interpret the dimensions using a clinical perspective, a taxonomic/diagnostic model and references to possible "biological underpinnings." (3) Validate the dimensions by associations with crime. Method: Population: all persons born 1995 in Malmö and living there at age 12. A random sample (N = 525) filled in a comprehensive self-report questionnaire on themes like personality, crime/abuse and social aspects at age 15, 16 and 18. Age 18 data were analysed: 191 men and 220 women. Results: Self-regulation items were 4-dimensional: ADHD problems (Behavior control and Executive skills) and two Aggression factors. Morality items formed a fifth dimension. Negative Affect and Social interaction factors covered the rest of the variance. The validity of these factors was backed up by correlations with similar items/factors. Self-regulation subscales predicted crimes better than the Grasmick scale; an interaction with morality improved prediction still further. Sex differences were over-all small with three exceptions: Aggression, Morality and Negative affect. Conclusion: We identified four dimensions of the 20-item Grasmick instrument: Cognitive action control (impulsiveness/sensation seeking, response inhibition), Executive skills/future orientation, Affective/aggression reactivity and Aggression control. All should be possible to link to brain functional modules. Much can be gained if we are able to formulate an integrated model of self-regulation including distinct brain functional modules, process-and trait-oriented models, relevant diagnoses and clinical experiences of individual cases.

Background: Carbon dioxide (CO2), traditionally viewed as a mere byproduct of cellular respiration, plays a multifaceted role in human physiology beyond simple elimination through respiration. CO2 may regulate the tumor microenvironment by significantly affecting the release of oxygen (O2) to tissues through the Bohr effect and by modulating blood pH and vasodilation. Previous studies suggest hypercapnia (elevated CO2 levels) might trigger optimized cellular mechanisms with potential therapeutic benefits. The role of CO2 in cellular stress conditions within tumor environments and its impact on O2 utilization offers a new investigative area in oncology. Objectives: This study aims to explore CO2's role in the tumor environment, particularly how its physiological properties and adaptive responses can influence therapeutic strategies. Methods: By applying a structured translational approach using the Work Breakdown Structure method, the study divided the analysis into six interconnected work packages to comprehensively analyze the interactions between carbon dioxide and the tumor microenvironment. Methods included systematic literature reviews, data analyses, data integration for identifying critical success factors and exploring extracellular environment modulation. The research used SMART criteria for assessing innovation and the applicability of results. Results: The research revealed that the human body's adaptability to hypercapnic conditions could potentially inform innovative strategies for manipulating the tumor microenvironment. This could enhance O2 utilization efficiency and manage adaptive responses to cellular stress. The study proposed that carbon dioxide's hormetic potential could induce beneficial responses in the tumor microenvironment, prompting clinical protocols for experimental validation. The research underscored the importance of pH regulation, emphasizing CO2 and carbonic acid's role in modulating metabolic and signaling pathways related to cancer. Conclusion: The study underscores CO2 as vital to our physiology and suggests potential therapeutic uses within the tumor microenvironment. pH modulation and cellular oxygenation optimization via CO2 manipulation could offer innovative strategies to enhance existing cancer therapies. These findings encourage further exploration of CO2's therapeutic potential. Future research should focus on experimental validation and exploration of clinical applications, emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to tackle current challenges in cancer treatment.

ABSTRACT

Regulatory B cells (Bregs) are a functionally distinct B-cell subset involved in the maintenance of homeostasis and inhibition of inflammation. Studies, from the last two decades, have increased our understanding of cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in their generation, function, and to a certain extent phenotype. Current research endeavours to unravel the causes and consequences of Breg defects in disease, with increasing evidence highlighting the relevance of Bregs in promoting tumorigenic responses. Here we provide historical and emerging findings of the significance of Bregs in autoimmunity and transplantation, and how these insights have translated into the cancer field.

ABSTRACT

All contemporary psychotherapies agree that (failing) emotion regulation is central to psychological disorders and that psychotherapy is about improving emotion regulation. In his research on the "emotion-laden" complex Jung put an emphasis on the role of failing emotion regulation in contributing to psychological disorders as well as to change in the process of psychotherapy, but he left this field of research and took a very different direction in favour of his archetype concept. Psychodynamic approaches generally argue that changes in emotion regulation are accomplished through corrective emotional experiences in the therapeutic relationship. Insights from affective neurosciences and attachment research have had a major influence on how the therapeutic relationship is constructed in contemporary psychodynamic approaches. There is a lack of similar developments in analytical psychology, which leads to substantial differences between the models of Jungian psychotherapy in contrast to other contemporary psychodynamic approaches. The implications of these differences for the practice of psychotherapy and especially the role of the therapeutic relationship are pointed out.


Toutes les psychothérapies actuelles s'accordent sur le fait que la régulation (défaillante) de l'émotion est au centre des désordres psychologiques et que la psychothérapie vise à améliorer la régulation de l'émotion. Dans sa recherche sur le « complexe à haute charge émotionnelle ¼, Jung a mis l'accent sur le rôle de la régulation défaillante de l'émotion comme participant aux désordres psychologiques ainsi qu'au changement dans le processus de psychothérapie. Mais il a abandonné ce champ de recherche et pris une direction très différente, y préférant son concept de l'archétype. Les approches psychodynamiques plaident généralement en faveur de l'idée que les changements dans la régulation de l'émotion sont atteints par les expériences émotionnelles corrective dans la relation thérapeutique. Des apports venant des neurosciences affectives et des recherches sur l'attachement ont eu une influence majeure sur comment la relation thérapeutique est construite dans les approches psychodynamiques actuelles. De tels développements font défaut dans la psychologie analytique, ce qui conduit à des différences considérables entre les modèles de psychothérapie jungienne en contraste avec les autres approches psychodynamiques actuelles. L'article souligne les conséquences de ces différences dans la pratique de la psychothérapie, tout particulièrement en ce qui concerne le rôle de la relation thérapeutique.


Todas las psicoterapias contemporáneas coinciden en que la regulación (fallida) de las emociones es central a los trastornos psicológicos y que la psicoterapia consiste en mejorar la regulación de las emociones. En su investigación sobre el complejo "de tonalidad afectiva", Jung hizo hincapié en el rol de una fallida regulación emocional en el desarrollo de los trastornos psicológicos, así como al cambio en el proceso de psicoterapia, pero abandonó este campo de investigación y tomó una dirección muy diferente en favor de su concepto de arquetipo. En general, los enfoques Psicodinámicos sostienen que los cambios en la regulación de las emociones se logran a través de experiencias emocionales correctivas en la relación terapéutica. ABSTRACT

Cognitive disengagement syndrome (CDS) and ADHD are considered distinct but interrelated constructs. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of elevated CDS symptoms and increased ADHD risk in the general population, and their relationships with emotion regulation difficulty (ERD) and alexithymia. Out of 1166 participants, 142 with known psychiatric conditions were excluded, resulting in 1024 participants. Participants completed various scales including Adult ADHD Self-Report Screening Scale for DSM-5 (ASRS-5), Barkley Adult Sluggish Cognitive Tempo (SCT) Scale, Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale-Short Form (DERS-16), and the Toronto Alexithymia Scale (TAS-20). Four groups were formed based on Barkley and ASRS-5 scores: Group 1) No elevated CDS symptoms and Low risk of ADHD, Group 2) No elevated CDS symptoms and Increased risk of ADHD, Group 3) Elevated CDS symptoms and Low risk of ADHD, Group 4) Elevated CDS symptoms and Increased risk of ADHD. Elevated CDS symptoms was found in 10% of participants, and increased ADHD risk in 9.2%. Among probable ADHD cases, 40% had elevated CDS symptoms, while 60% of elevated CDS symptoms cases had increased ADHD risk. Group 4 (elevated CDS symptoms and increased risk of ADHD) had the highest ERD and alexithymia scores, while Group 1(no elevated CDS symptoms and low risk of ADHD) had the lowest. Regression analyses showed that CDS scores predicted ERD (47%) and alexithymia (32%) better than ADHD scores (ERD: 36%, alexithymia: 23%). CDS and ADHD appear as significant concepts that could be involved in the etiology of ERD and alexithymia.
