Los valores ético profesionales del médico: su diagnóstico / Diagnosing Ethical - Professional values in medical doctors

Con el propósito de diagnosticar la interiorización de los valores éticos profesionales a los alumnos de medicina seleccionados, se realiza esta investigación descriptiva causal. Para ello se determina el Sistema de Valores Éticos de la profesión médica en Camagüey, luego de un estudio profundo de los Códigos de Ética Médica Internacionales y Nacionales y la utilización de diferentes métodos y procedimientos propios de las investigaciones psicológicas y pedagógicas, éstos últimos apoyaron también la realización del diagnóstico de la situación actual de los estudiantes, donde se evidencia una diferencia notoria entre la auto evaluación y la co-evaluación siendo necesario acercar estos criterios. Valores como responsabilidad, profesionalidad, ser culto, internacionalismo y honestidad tienen dificultades en su asimilación. Queda demostrado que la metodología empleada es factible de ser utilizada para el diagnóstico al responder los resultados con las expectativas (AU)

With the purpose of diagnostic the ins and outs of the ethical professional values to the selected medicine students this descriptive investigation was carried out. With that purpose the System of Ethical Values of the medical profession in Camaguey was set after a deep study of the International and National Codes of medical Ethics and the use of different methods and procedures of psychological and pedagogic investigations, these also supported the doing of the diagnosis of the current situation of the students, where a notorius difference is evidenced between the self evaluation and the coevaluation being necessary to bring near these approaches. Values as responsability, internacionalism and honesty have difficulties to be cultivated. It is demostrated that the used methodology is feasible of being used for the diagnosis when responding the resultswith expectations (AU)

Después de breve reseña histórica que informa sobre los sorprendentes avances de la genética a partir del descubrimiento de la estructura helicoidal del DNA, el artículo centra su atención en el nacimiento de los estudios genómicos en los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica, las causas y condiciones que los motivaron, hasta desembocar en el multinacional Proyecto Genoma Humano. Sin olvidar la estatura científica de tal empresa, se intenta una mirada desde la perspectiva de las relaciones Norte-Sur, remitiéndonos de modo más incisivo a los aspectos éticos más controvertidos del PGH. Argumentamos que en las sociedades del Sur debemos ocuparnos en jerarquizar los principales problemas bioéticos que nos aquejan y que están aún muy distantes de los que se "encargan" al PGH . Referimos que las sociedades del Sur deben insertar en su agenda, proyecciones en Ciencia, Tecnología y Sociedad, entre las que el PGH no califica como una prioridad autóctona, aún cuando no descalificamos en su esencia tales megaproyectos, originados en los centros y circuitos propios de la ciencia del Norte (AU)

Alter brief historical review that informs on the surprising advances of the genetics starting from the discovery of the spiral structure of the DNA, the article centres its attention in the birth of the genetic studies in the United Status of America, the causes and conditions that motivated them, until ending in the I multinational Human Genome Project without forgetting the scientific stature of such Project. It is attempted a look from the perspective of the North-South relationships, remitting us of the more incisive way to the most controversial ethical aspects of the HPG. We argue that in the societies of the South we should be in charge of organizing hierarchically the main bioethical problems that we suffer and they are even very distant of those that are in charge of the HGP. Sistema de superación pedagógica para el Licenciado en Enfermería asistencial con función docente / Pedagogical Improvement System for Registered Nurses carrying on teaching functions

Con el propósito de elevar la preparación sico-pedagógica de los docentes asistenciales de Licenciatura en Enfermería de la Universidad Médica de Camagüey con vistas a garantizar la formación integral del egresado, se diseñó un Sistema de Superación acorde a las necesidades específicas de este personal, tomando como base el perfil sico-pedagógico de estos profesionales docentes y el diagnóstico de la situación actual, el que se obtuvo mediante la observación y aplicación de cuestionarios y entrevistas a una muestra intencional conformada por los docentes del Hospital Provincial "Manuel A. With the purpose of elevating the psychopedagogic preparation of Registered Nurses carrying on teaching functions in the Medical University of Camagüey so that they guarantee the integral formation of their students, a system of pedagogical development was designed according to the specific needs of this personnel, taking as a base the psychopedagogical profile of these professionals and the diagnosis of the current situation, which was obtained by means of the observation and application of questionnaires and interviews to an experimental group composed by Manuel A. La Educación en Valores. Emergencia del proceso formativo / A formative process emergence: Values, principles and ethics in Education

En el artículo presento sucintamente el comportamiento del escenario educativo internacional, en el que se aporta la visión prospectiva y estrategias de la educación universitaria con énfasis en los valores humanos. Se despliega un estudio del contexto nacional cubano desde la perspectiva de la relación universidad-sociedad, con una particularización de esa relación desde y hacia la universidad médica y su pertinencia social como enclave al cual se demanda alta responsabilidad como parte relevante de la sociedad civil. El artículo dedica amplia atención al estudio de los procesos de la subjetividad individual y grupal e incursiona en la conceptualización de los proyectos de vida, insertos en la realidad cotidiana del país. Como elemento medular, aborda el proceso formativo, sus componentes, factores y actores que involucra, en la consecución de la estrategia y el proyecto educativo. Con ello aspira a ofrecer su contribución en los esfuerzos que emprende la Educación Médica Superior en el perfeccionamiento del proceso formativo que privilegia la educación en elevados valores humanos de los profesionales del sector que demanda hoy el país (AU)

In the article was presented the characteristics of the international educational scenario succinctly, which offers a prospective vision and university education strategies with emphasis in the human values. A study of the Cuban national context from the perspective of the university-society relationship is carried out, with a particularization of that relationship from and toward the medical university and its social relevancy as a place which is demanded high responsibility because of its responsability as a mayor part of the civil society. The article dedicates wide attention to the study of the processes of the individual and grupal subjectivity and deals with the conceptualization of life projects, connected to the daily reality of the country. As medullar element, it approaches the formative process, its components, factors and actors involved, in the attainment of the strategy and the educational project. It intends to offer its contribution in the efforts that undertakes the Superior Medical Education in the improvement of the formative process that privileges the education of the professionals of this field in high human values (AU)

Inmersos en la actual batalla de ideas y en aras de contribuir al logro de una cultura general e integral se realizó este trabajo. Su objetivo es contribuir al incremento de materiales didácticos para una formación político–ideológica de los estudiantes, con vistas a una mejor proyección cultural integral en el desempeño de su profesión. Consiste en un libro que brinda información sobre hechos ocurridos en diferentes ramas del saber humano y esferas de la vida del hombre, en cada uno de los días del año. Abarca fecha de nacimiento y muerte de personalidades, hechos en el ámbito histórico, científico-técnico y cultural, fundamentalmente de Cuba; también se incluyen otros acontecimientos ocurridos en el mundo que tuvieron repercusión en nuestro país. Consta de 731 efemérides comentadas, acompañadas, algunas de ellas, de información visual. El trabajo aporta información a los estudiantes y contribuye a subsanar las insuficiencias informativas (AU)

This work was carried out in the current battle of ideas and with the objective of contributing to the achievement of a general and integral culture. Its objective is to contribute to the increment of didactic materials for the political-ideological formation of the students, so as to achieve their integral cultural projection. It consists of a book that offers information on facts that happened in different branches of human knowledge and spheres of men's life. It includes the date of birth and death of personalities, historical as well as scientific, technological and cultural facts, mainly in Cuba. Other world events that had repercussion in our country are included. It consists of 731 commented events, some of them complemented with visual information. This research offers information to the students and contributes to correct information inadequacies (AU)

Innovación educativa para el fortalecimiento del enfoque Ciencia-Tecnología-Sociedad en la educación postgraduada / Strengthening the Science-Technology-Society approach: an educative innovation for postgraduate courses

Los Estudios sociales de la ciencia y la tecnología también reconocidos bajo el nombre Estudios Ciencia- Tecnología- Sociedad (CTS), es un campo científico que a pesar de su relativa juventud es considerado un campo bien consolidado de investigación académica, en las áreas de la política científica y educación, Los Estudios CTS ponen énfasis en los aspectos sociales del fenómeno ciencia y tecnología en sus consecuencias sociales y ambientales, por eso su enfoque general es de carácter crítico respecto a las imágenes o visiones clásicas de la ciencia y la tecnología que aún resultan predominantes, y orienta hacia una actitud vigilante alrededor de la actividad científica. Sus valiosas estructuras teóricas y conceptuales son fundamentales para el análisis de las ciencias y tecnologías de la salud, lo que lo convierte en un instrumento de elevado significado para la educación médica superior y la práctica y la ciencia de la Salud Pública en general. La presente estrategia educativa permite actualizar los paradigmas desde los cuáles se piensa sobre las interrelaciones ciencia-tecnología-sociedad; como respuesta a las necesidades de satisfacer demandas cognoscitivas en ésta área. El objetivo esencial de la estrategia consiste en proporcionar visiones cada vez más desarrolladas y amplias sobre la actividad científico-tecnológica, de modo que promuevan una actitud ética y responsable de los profesionales de la salud. El Diplomado que se propone forma parte del Sistema de Educación Postgraduada del Centro de Humanidades y Ética en Ciencias de la Salud y ha sido aprobado por la Escuela Nacional de Salud Pública con carácter internacional (AU)

The social studies of science and technology, also known as Science - Technology - Society Studies (CTS), is a scientific field that in spite of its relative youth is considered a consolidated field of academic investigation, in the scientific politics and education areas. CTS Studies emphasize the social aspects of the science-technology phenomenon in its social and environmental consequences, for that reason it regards critically the images or classic approaches of science and technology that are still predominant. It also guides towards a careful attitude around the scientific activity. Their valuable theoretical and conceptual structures are fundamental for the analysis of health sciences and technologies, which turns it into a meaningful instrument of higher medical education and of the theory and practice of Public Health in general. This educational strategy allows upgrading the paradigms from which the interrelations science-technology-society is analyzed, as a way to answer the necessities of satisfying cognitive demands in this area. The essential objective of the strategy consists of providing better developed and vaster visions of the scientific-technological activity, so that this promotes an ethical and responsible attitude among health professionals. The post graduate course proposed is part of the Postgraduate System of Education of the Center of Humanities and Ethics in Health Sciences and it has been approved by the Public Health National School as an international course (AU)

Los autores se proponen, a la luz del conocimiento actual de la ciencia y específicamente de las Ciencias Sociales, exponer su valoración sobre la necesaria interdependencia entre el objeto de la investigación científica y el sujeto investigador y la forma en que aquella toma partido en el contexto que la rodea. Acuciantes problemas epistemológicos, ya de larga data en la historia de la ciencia, cobran fuerza y actualidad ante la compleja situación que afronta el mundo contemporáneo. Entre ellos se aborda en este artículo el que alude una supuesta pureza ideológica de la ciencia y la orienta a tomar distancia de todo compromiso con la sociedad que la engendra: la pretendida neutralidad axiológica (AU)

The authors intend, in the light of the current knowledge of science, specifically the social Sciences, to expose their valuation on the necessary interdependence between the object of the scientific investigation and the way it takes part in the context that surrounds it.
