ABSTRACT

Based on the former examined species and new material, we described one new genus Sinagryllacris with S. cirrhatis sp. nov.. Comparing other genera of Gryllacrididae, the new genus is unique in the combination of the following characters: body slender, male ninth abdominal tergite with median hooks that are narrowly separated; female seventh abdominal sternite with 1 long process.

ABSTRACT

Based on the former studies and new material, Anelytra (Euanelytra) eunigrifrons Ingrisch, 1998 is reported in China for the first time. In addition, the female sex of Anelytra (Euanelytra) spinia Shi & Qiu, 2009 is described. We also confirmed that Anelytra (Euanelytra) spinia Shi & Qiu, 2009 is mainly distributed in Southern China. The examined specimens are deposited in Guangxi Normal University.

ABSTRACT

Two new species of Larnaca Walker, 1869, Larnaca (Larnaca) longispina sp. nov. (Chinese name: -) and Larnaca (Larnaca) nigrimacula sp. nov. (Chinese name: -), are described from Yunnan Province, China based on new material deposited in Guangxi Normal University. The two new species are placed Larnaca (Larnaca) Walker, 1869 and compared to the corresponding closely related species. The male of Larnaca (Larnaca) longispina sp. nov. and both sexes of Larnaca (Larnaca) nigrimacula sp. nov. are illustrated.

ABSTRACT

The genus Ultragryllacris is mainly distributed in China and Thailand, and the type species Ultragryllacris pulchra Gorochov & Dawwrueng, 2015 includes four subspecies. Up to now, these subspecies were identified mainly based on their morphological characteristics, and no study on the molecular identification of subspecies and phylogenetic analyses has been reported. Here we obtained three mitogenomes of U. pulchra rubricapitis and one mitogenome of Homogryllacris yunnana and reconstructed the relationship of Ultragryllacris among genera. Species identification was performed with ABGD, jMOTU, and NJ tree based on cox1 (658 bp) and cob (550 bp) genes. The mitogenomes of U. pulchra rubricapitis and H. yunnana were 15558-16625 bp and 16209 bp in length, respectively. Most of the PCGs started with the typical ATN codons and terminated with complete TAA/TAG. Four mitogenomes showed positive AT skews and negative GC skews. Besides, the phylogenetic tree of BI and ML revealed that Ultragryllacris was a monophyletic group. One geographical population of Ultragryllacris pulchra rubricapitis was described and illustrated.

ABSTRACT

In this paper we propose two new synonyms based on the new specimens deposited in Guangxi Normal University, viz. Ocellarnaca nigra Shi & Zhu, 2021 syn. nov. and Ocellarnaca fallax (Liu, 1999) syn. nov.. Also, Ocellarnaca brachyptera Shi & Zhu, 2021 is regarded as subspecies of Ocellarnaca emeiensis. In addition, the male genitalia of two known species are illustrated. The previously unknown female sex of Ocellarnaca emeiensis brachyptera Shi & Zhu, 2021 is described and illustrated.

ABSTRACT

Capnogryllacris is widely distributed in China, India, and Southeast Asia and contained 45 valid species. After examining the recently-collected specimens, we describe one new species and the female sex of Capnogryllacris xichou xichou Peng & Bian, 2021. All the new specimens are deposited in Guangxi Normal University.

ABSTRACT

Based on new collections, we described one new species from Yunnan Province, i.e. Homogryllacris xishanensis sp. nov. (Chinese name: ). Meanwhile, we first describe and illustrate the male sex of Homogryllacris biloba (Bey-Bienko, 1957). After the study, these species of Homogryllacris with reduced wings could be formed into one morphological group for classical taxonomy, but they with other species of the genus (with long wings) actually lost and regained wings during evolution.

ABSTRACT

This paper lists the updated Chinese Gryllacrididae checklist, including 24 genera and 174 species/subspecies. One new replacement name and the type information of Neolarnaca longipenna Bian & Shi, 2016 are provided. Lastly, one intraspecific variation of Larnaca (Larnaca) nigrifrons is briefly described and illustrated.
